Happy Hump Day! Also, the start of a long weekend for many.
Question of the Day – Will the Vikings beat the Pukers 2 or 3 times this season?
Happy 4th of July. Have some fun, relax, enjoy friends and family, and remember freedom is not free.
SKOL, FTP, and FJB.
Just for fun…
Did you get tickets to the ATL @ TB game yet?
Laughing… no
I was planning on grilling out tomorrow as is our tradition, but my wife is making reservations somewhere instead. Hmmmm…
We still have some frozen foods that need to be eaten before we leave.
Sat night we will dine out if all is ready, incentive to ‘get er done’.
Is your wife going to be on the cover of Vogue?
Cosmopolitan is more their personal stye I believe.
No… Muscle Magazine…
Just made Quesadillas on the griddle. I had some smoked pulled pork left over, and used that. Griddle is uses 3x per week.
think whatever you want about Lebron….good or bad….
but i am legit looking forward to watching him play with his kid. personaly/politics etc aside… it’s VERY rare to be able to watch a father/son combo play anymore.
I will definitely be tuning in to watch it. even if bronny sucks, i hope they get some time on the court together, i think it’s fun.
on barely a smaller scale, but in my 20’s, getting to play softball with my dad was SUPER fun, and i enjoyed it week in week out.
My dad was a manager player in an over 35 league in St Cloud area until he was 62. I couldn’t play with him ( too young) unless he arranged games at the St Cloud penn where he worked. Some of those cons could really play and always wanted to play double headers. Needless to say the cons never had away games.
Bronny could actually be better than LeBron at this point.
And the Lakers gave him another $100 million. Bwhahahahaha!
Guess airport security is more intense than the border. Any you dudes flying good luck.
FJB
Ain’t that something. You can’t get on a plane with a nail clipper but you could probable drive up to the border in a Russian tank and go right thru – with a promise to show up in court 10 years down the road.
I hate that this is accurate.
Royce Lewis left the game yesterday but it looks like just ‘groin tightness’ so he is just day to day.
Not like Opening Day when he left the game and didn’t get back for two months.
#nojinx
Him and Buxton can’t make a good asshole.
No idea what this means.
But I do know that I don’t want to delve deeper into what your idea of what ‘a good asshole’ is.
No kink shaming though.
I keep telling people it is about Culture not Color.
This story is especially poignant after the killing of an elderly shopper during a robbery attempt coming out of a Barnes and Noble yesterday, they were tourists from Down Under for gods sake!
Good culture kid.

Bad culture kids.

I’m surprised they ran a story that included a black kid and watermelons. That’s racist!
I sold sweet corn one summer in college. Those were long days. You were out in the field picking by 5 AM, then sitting by the trailer in a parking lot the rest of the day, get home around 9 p.m., six days a week. I was a zombie by the end of it.
It was fun how one’s time sense altered, though. When Sunday rolled around, I was dumbfounded to have an entire day to myself.
Weirdly fun, though. I worked with a bunch of high school kids. Me and one guy would have a contest how many ears of corn we could pick in the morning. We’d get way over 1,000. He was a funny kid. Couple years later he was out hunting, climbed a fence with a shotgun and shot himself in the chest accidentally.
Ouch!!
I remember cutting some wood with a chain saw and climbed on top to get a better angle, yup fell with a running chainsaw in my hands.
My guardian angel was working overtime that day.
As we were talking yesterday, good parenting is important. See his Dad is right there for him.
Great story.
Nah. You just don’t understand racism.
Any GF sightings?
Nah, I haven’t had a girlfriend in a long time.
Prob have one in the mountains. You don’t hunt or fish.
I promised The Teacher I wouldn’t do that as she has PTSD from her ex about that.
So far so good.
Minny. Get a full moon it’s overcast. Tomorrow the 4th and thunderstorms.
Well if you’d get an electric car you’d have better weather. Just ask Al Gore.
I live on a 3rd floor. When the batteries ignite i may not make it down.
I was reading about the Heaven’s Gate cult today.
You guys remember them? They thought a UFO was in a passing comet, so they killed themselves to go join it.
I remember it happening, but I never learned the details. Until now!
I remember the story, forgot which cult. That was in the mid 90’s correct?
Yep.
I usually think of cult leaders as knowing they are full of it and taking advantage of people, but I reckoned those leaders actually believed their story since they killed themselves, as well. Lead dude even castrated himself.
I watched the Branch Davidian TV miniseries about a year ago, I believe they were re showing it for the 30th anniversary. I liked that it was told mostly from the followers point of view.
I am kind of familiar with that one because the Davidians were a branch of Seventh Day Adventists, and I butt heads with SDAs somewhat regularly.
I also remember Janet Reno giving press conferences after Waco.
I was in the Army working the night shift in the field during that.
Every night I got to go outside and watch that Hale-Bopp comet, Every Night!
It was so impressive but after a week or two I didn’t even notice it any more. The mind it as terrible thing.
KFEY:
Orange or strawberry Jell-O work the best in my power Jell-O recipe. I saw you asked that the other day late. You maybe never saw my response.
I always believe in following up on important things like Jell-O questions…
Cheers! Strawberry with Vanilla protein powder sounds good.
Saw a article saying purple may trade Cine. For what? 8th rounder? guessing they want to move on for money reasons, keep a promising rookie.
First round pick, gotta try and get something for him.
2525 1st rounder.
Cupboard is pretty bare on ’25 draft picks.
Anything they get back will help at this point.

Sniffer would provide the weapons they need. Oh wait….
Trump does understand the “right” kind of diplomacy to deal with these guys. And it ain’t talk and weakness.
My favorite President I have ever served… hands down.
Interesting….. I thought you were going to say Lincoln.
Laughing… so hard… yeah, I get that from my wife too.
Since I’m older than you, thought I could say that.
Seriously, your comment was good to know.
A. Lincoln is my favorite, always has been since we share a birthday so I got my BD off from school while I was growing up.
Trump is a close 2nd though.
Feb 12? Growing up in Illinois we always got his bday off too.
My favorite also.
My whole life I was/am given Lincoln memorabilia on my BD, Have a Lincoln Bedroom full of the stuff.
I just wish/hope he put on sunglasses like the dude on CSI:Miami as he said it and walked out of the room.
I’ll just say it was one of the finest Foreign Policy moments I have ever witnessed.
You know for a rich spoiled kid New Yorker, Trump has a hell of a lot down to earth common sense.
He does, and he’s learned from history. Never play nice with evil, thinking you can convince evil to play nice with you.
Amen.
.
Love that story!
Live look at the Oval Office….
I’ve snorted more parmesan cheese than anyone. – Hunter
‘Dad must be president until he signs my pardon.’
If they invoke the 25th amendment he won’t be able to make any money for pardons anymore.
They would make it clear to Kumala that she is to pardon the poor, innocent, little, genius, Hunter.
Well Jerry Ford gave Nixon a full pardon as part of him taking over.
Crack addict, illegal guns, going to court in Sept for tax evasion. Now he’s attending WH meetings. Your country boys.
For the history buffs, today is pretty important in US history. An ill fated late afternoon charge changed the tides of the Civil War.
Picketts Charge was insane.
Have to give major props to those that willingly walked up that incline with all those bullets/cannon shots coming in at them.
I seriously doubt I could have/would have make that charge.
I actually got to walk it once with a guide. A thunderstorm came up and with all the thunder it was really moving.
Brave, brave men. South had over 6500 casualties in about one hour.
That’s unpossible, they didn’t even have AR15s back then.
Ex-Vikings QB Tommy Kramer quits drinking: ‘I’ve lived my life as a gunslinger’ (si.com)
Tommy, No one likes a quitter.
Seriously good for him..I have heard from several people who ran into him over the years, Every one of those in-person encounters said he was a great guy but he was hammered. I never hear of anyone encountering him sober.
There was a dude on TalkVikes who ran into him in the airport, and it is exactly as you say. Dude was standing in line, smelled a cloud of booze, turned around, and Kramer was standing behind him.
Like the old saying goes
“I’ve spent most of my money on booze and women, the rest I just wasted.”
I have wondered how much I have saved over my life be not drinking, smoking, being an audiophile or videophile, not having expensive hobbies.
Moving prep has shown I (and The Teacher) have way to much stuff, but not of which is excessively expensive. It is more a volume thing with The Teacher. Except for books, I have donated almost 20 boxes of books and we are still shipping close to 35 more.
20 boxes of books is a lot of books. And a box of books is heavy. I hope you didn’t hurt your back.
Back has been aching for weeks (months?,
Not enough to stop me from doing things but enough to remind me to be careful with it.
PT 3Xs a week for 22 years in the Army have given me a strong core. I see seniors my age with mobility issues and I am grateful that I was forced thru that.
At least he is a nice drunk.
My old boss told me a story of when he went to a game back in the early 80’s. Him and his buddies left early, like 5 minutes left in the game, and headed to a bar that they had heard TK frequented. By the time they got there Tommy was already at the bar with a drink in hand.
More and more calls for Briben to end his campaign.
NY Times claiming that Joe has admitted he might have to.
But it’s not up to him. It’s up to Jill.
The donor machine will finally pull the plug. It may be in the shadows and force the cabinet to invoke the 25th, but when the money starts to threaten to dry up something will change. I think what is holding it up now is they don’t have a better option. Kumala sucks, but they can’t skip her because DEI.
No doubt that will be a big part of it.
I’m just not convinced yet that Jill, Hunter and Joe will give up the power.
They absolutely do not, but Soros truly runs the show and will get involved along with other donors (and don’t forget about Barry and Michael).
True about donors.
Heard an interesting remark from Trey Gowdy last night – ‘ The only thing congressmen love more than their Mothers is getting reelected. When they believe Biden will hurt them down ballot, the shoes will start dropping.’
Plus what a great opportunity. They can crow about our first woman president is “black”.
Yeah, just push Sleepy out now, she can be first blah, blah, blah, then they’ll insert Newsom to bring the greatness of Commiefornia to the rest of the country. If not him, it’ll probably be Whitmer because Michigan, especially Detroit, is doing so fantastic.
“push Sleepy out now”
The longer they wait the worse it will get, so I hope they fight over it for months first.
They have to provide Ohio (a battleground state) with an Official Nominee by Aug 7th for them to be on the ballot.
If they wait two weeks later for the ‘Convention’ there will be more and more issues/challenges.
Dems problem – are they better with a half brain dead Joe or a totally brain dead Kamal?
If they invoke the 25th that will open up questions about his ‘executive actions’ and the Supreme Court will be busy for years settling the challenges.
RIP if you driving in SD this weekend. Allegedly.
I would say the black hills area and Deadwood have a lot to do with inflating that stat. Lot of small, winding roads, and booze consumption.
Possibly…or the South Dakota rednecks just get totally out of control over the 4th.
@what do you expect from trumpturds@
If it’s tricky hilly roads driven by moonshine full rednecks I would have guessed West Virginia.
Eh. I don’t know.
They might be too busy dating their relatives.
Hay, Hunter Biden doesn’t live in WVA.
I know.
He is from Delaware.
And I have to admit, there are some questionable relationships out here.
He did boink his SIL once his brother died (maybe sooner), got her hooked on drugs while he was at it.
Sure did. Would certainly play well in WVA.
Following his dad’s moral leadership. Joe was boinking the babysitter while he was still married and now the babysitter is running the country.
You mean like Lifer, isn’t he from WV?
Yep. He was.
He was in NC based on his Skol postings of last year.
I guess. I don’t know really.
I think the study is misinformation.
If 10 people die in SD in accidents, that jacks up their death rate based on the % of population, when compared to larger populated states.
And there are a ton of out of staters in the Black Hills right now, same as out here. You can’t base traffic statistics on straight per capita.
Happy Hump Day!
Two is better than one!
Someone has to do it.
Soda Slut Autorec!
I guess that means you like Coke over Pepsi?
coke is way better than pepsi
Hunter agrees with you.
Thanks for covering for me, DE.
Sure thing.
I’m going to say the Vikings beat the puke once.
The puke are overrated.
Happy anniversary to me yesterday. 36 years.
Congrats. I’m at 28.
You old.
Only 8 1/2 here. You old.
Yep.
Yup.
Congratulations!!!!
Thanks.
that’s awesome, VP! congrats to you and the mrs for putting up with you
She is an amazing woman just by the fact she hasn’t killed me yet.
Just waiting for you to up the life insurance policy?
I have $650K on me.
She hasn’t wacked me. Yet.
Awesome VP! Good for you and your bride! My 36th is this December. Despite her insistence on poisoning me with cherry tomatoes we have remained together.
I believe that The Teacher has learned to keep the cherry tomatoes to herself.
Managed to convince her that ‘not sharing’ equals more of them for her.
I need to try that approach.
Cherry tomatoes are evil incarnate
Once my dad realized that soda was more expensive than beer back in the early 70s he planted cherry tomatoes in the back yard and told us kids that they were better than soda and to pick and eat those when we were thirsty.
Probably when my hate for them began.
Congrats
Thanks
Congratulations, my wife and I will be 28 years this fall.
QOTD:
Packers will probably sweep us, Lions too.
They are simply further along than us on the bell curve. Hopefully, we are coming up as they are going down in subsequent seasons.
Unfortunately, I feel the same. We will suffer for a year as we rebuild the team.
SKOL!
I don’t mind bottoming out for a bit. I’ve had enough of what they have been doing for like the last six season. I don’t mind this sequence.
Solid thinking. But worry while we are bottoming out Lions/Packers are on the rise and not sure if/when they will decline.
That is a legitimate concern. Packers have shown they have a good process in place to remain competent. LaFluer and their GM seem to be a solid duo.
I’m really curious to see if the Lions can keep going, too. I am actually enjoying the Lions relevance. They are fun to watch. I like Campbell’s aggression. He just needs to take it back a notch.
Since I figure the Vikings are still a couple seasons away, the Packers, Lions and Chargers are my most interesting storylines this season. I am looking forward to seeing how Harbaugh does with Hebert. Chargers are my team to watch this season, methinks. AFC is still the Chiefs world, though.
Think Packers might just beat out Lions for the division.
And then there’s that kid from the Bears. Not quite sure what to think yet, but could become a long term problem.
Possible. If Love keeps trending upward, the division will have problems with him for a long, long time.
I can see Vikes and Bears fighting for the cellar for now.
fixed it for you.
False. JJ is going to step in and they will fight for a playoff spot this year. I’ve seen more and more buzz about his maturity, intelligence, accuracy, etc. As always, you take it with a very large grain of salt this time of year, but there’s been a lot more than for the other rookie QBs that I’ve seen. I’ve seen a lot more efforts to tamp expectations for the others than I have JJ.
Don’t think Goeff and Love have any rookie hype.
I don’t expect to see JJ this year. It would be fun, though!
I think Darnold will have a Case Keenum kind of year, even though it will be for naught, get paid and leave. Then it will be JJ time.
Paid to see Horizon in the theater. $6 ticket and free popcorn on Tuesdays.
I liked it. Good Western, but it did feel like a TV miniseries, and there could have been better pacing.
I will see the next one in the theater as well.
I rate it 7/10.
Certainly not great, but I was entertained, and that is what I am after when I go to movies.
Isnt it also like 3.5 hours?
3 hours. And, I wish it had been 3.5 so he could have tied things together a bit more.
Was it worth Kevin Costner quitting Yellowstone for?
He did not quit, until Taylor Sheridan kept delaying the filming of part 2 of season 5. they started filming with 1/2 the scripts, and while they were filming, Sheridan was planning on finishing the scripts for the season.
That aside, my answer is yes, it was worth him leaving Yellowstone. Dutton was dead soon anyways, and you know that
I think Horizon is more important to Costner, so yes, it was worth it. Even though I doubt Horizon gets the commercial success of Yellowstone, this first movie was good enough that I really hope they finish all 4 movies. Filming the third now. If the second and third do not make bank, it could be over.
Yellowstone went downhill pretty hard anyway so I’m not surprised. I do want to see the ending of 1923. I also want to see another Fantastic Beasts movie, but that isn’t looking good.
QotD:
Only twice, as the packers will not make the playoffs.
Good morning, SKOL!

Takes her much to long to load that magazine.
I would not kick her out bed over it though.
Yeah, shouldn’t have to look at it to put it in.
If it was a high threat situation she should be scanning for threats while she reloads.
Obviously doesn’t practice enough.

Choice of gif is questionable, though.
It is to lure MT into the conversation.
Should work just fine, this being his favorite gif. MT incoming in 3… 2… 1…
