The moderators didn’t seem to play a big role but they did try to ‘nudge’ things FJBs way.
Of course now all the spin begins.

It’s all part of their plan. They never wanted Joe to win. They want another candidate up there with little time for them to be torn apart and for everyone to find out about their flawed policies/experience. Dems don’t have any great candidates to beat Trump, and they know it.
I’ll add: The “sudden” realization that Joe is old and can’t make it another 4 years has been fully on display for anyone with eyes and a brain. Last night was nothing new.

Not the latest movie, but I am glad I went to see Revenge of the Sith in a theater. And as a child I watched Jaws 3D and ET in the theater, watching those two on TV is not as good.

been recovering from hernia surgery for several days, been a bit rough but getting better, sack is swollen and nards are tender, feel bloated and uncomfortable but that’s to be expected.
Ouch. Surgery sucks. Maybe you should not watch the debate tonight. Laughing is an adventure in pain after that surgery.
You may never have sex again, but other than that sounds like routine postoperative pain.
The only real issue was a reaction to some medication, tramadoll or something like that, made me itch like crazy all over and see some weird spots and flashes of color. Hopefully I can sex again
My wife had a similar reaction to tramadol.

I was dating a anesthetist recently.
Man was she a moran. Couldn’t do basic math. She calculated a tip on her phone and still got it wrong. Somehow we’re supposed to trust her to figure out how much anesthesia to administer?
Well, I could make a crack at the whole nurse anesthetist vs anesthesiologist training thing but will contain myself.
She could have been your sugar momma, what with all the coin they make these days post pandemic.
Anesthesia is 99% boredom and 1% pure panic.
We were almost equal. I was slightly ahead in salary.
She was brainwashed to be the victim in every scenario and we would banter about politics way too much.
It was doomed from the beginning.

Last movie I saw in theatres was Barbie. Took 3 different women to see it. It was horrible, but the results were 3/3.

QOTD, very few movies I’ve seen were significantly better because of the “big screen”, but the least I would say I was glad about was gladiator, that was amazing in theater

Quite frankly, the movie experience at home is so superior to the movie theater experience that the only time I consider going to a movie is when we are on vacation. You can’t beat home for the absence of distractions like people coming in five minutes after the movie has started, talking during the movie, constantly checking their peripheral brain, etc…plus you can pause the movie to take a piss and eat popcorn for the price of a cup of corn and the gas stove you make it on.
If it was up to me, movie theaters would go the way of the Blockbuster chain and dodo bird.
We watch Young Frankenstein about 5 years ago when it was shown locally for its 45th anniversary.
It was interesting to see it on the Big Screen. Only been to a couple in theaters since and none were as good.

Back in college, never heard of it but friends convinced me to go and advised on the appropriate props to bring. It was quite the experience, it was shown on campus so was all college kids in the audience.

I’m not a huge fan of the theatre (that’s the way you should have spelled it) either. My popcorn is much better than theirs and at least if someone talks during a movie at my house, I can tell them to shup up or get out. Plus pause it great for the reason’s you mentioned above and I also can pause to tell the talking person to shut up and get out..

I’ve heard stories that the Japanese creators of the game knew nothing of American Football at the time and used a Street & Smith College & Pro Football guide when determining the rankings – Vinny Testaverde is the fastest QB on the game, allegedly based upon these rankings.
What I love the most is the no fuss, no muss gameplay. Games take about 15 minutes tops – a far cry from the time suck that playing modern games feature. Still love and play the most recent Madden games on the newest consoles, but this is nice to just pass the time with. I also love to get stoned to the bejeezus and play Tetris.
A full Madden game takes me forever to play.
It’s so hard to play for me. I am officially old.
I get it – funny thing is the newest versions of Madden are the most ‘user friendly’ versions out there. Lots of ways to practice/sharpen gameplay as well as learning intricacies of the game for novice types.

I have seen Germans eat a hamburger with a knife and fork, in a restaurant in Berlin.
Very formal those older Germans.
That brings back a memory…I was a picky eater in my childhood, and the couple of times we visited Wales there wasn’t a lot of the local cuisine to enjoy. On the way back to West Germany, we were waiting on the ferry at Felixstowe and went to a restaurant and my dad asked if they could make me a hamburger, they didn’t know what that was so he explained it to them. They did their best but what came out was a heavily seasoned and burnt piece of a sort of Salisbury steak, on a significantly toasted piece of bread, served on a plate with knife and fork. Needless to say there was no need to worry about seasickness on the crossing as I had an empty stomach.
We weren’t allowed to be picky eaters growing, Family of 7 with 4 brothers, you ate what was offered or you didn’t eat.
The Army had limited options in their Dining Halls either but you could at least make a samich if you were not in BCT or some such.
I do appreciate the West Germany ref. Stationed in West Berlin you had West Germany, then Checkpoint Alpha to get into East Germany thru Checkpoint Bravo, into West Berlin and then if you wanted to go into East Berlin then you went thru Checkpoint Charlie. Lots of memories.
The greatest transformation for me was the dorm cafeteria the three years I lived there…I had to carefully husband the amount of money on my meal card and usually the most cost effective and filling options were whatever the big ol’ scoop on a plate special was, some of the most unappetizing things I have ever eaten but my palate was definitely expanded.
Now there are only a few things I won’t eat. Tiger meat. Head cheese. Kirk’s hamburgers.
I was just eating at a McDonalds at Checkpoint Charlie.
My first taste of McDonalds was on Lake Constance (Constanz?).
It’s like the asshole Italians that serve a pizza unsliced and give you a fork and knife.
I got stares for cutting a slice and eating it with my hands.
Italian pizza from Europe is not very good.
Tried it once and got it from the American Base after that.
Napoli is the place to go. I enjoy their pizza, but it is different than our standard stuff. I enjoy both.
Every Italian I’ve ever met is like the sweetest nicest person. Mind I have never been to Italy where they enjoy home field advantage.
My stepdaughter, son in law, and granddaughter are embarking on a whirlwind two week tour of Italy with the foreign exchange student they hosted, coming up here beginning of August. I can only imagine how freaking hot it will be. I spent a day on the French Riviera in July as a 9 year old and damn near sweated 50% of my body weight.
I spent 10 days in Italy last year. After 4 days in the French Riviera. It was fun.
Love that area of the world.
I just realized they added N64 for the switch the other day. I have today marked down to smoke a fat joint and play some goldeneye.
Heh. I remember the day I picked up a N64 and 4 controllers, got that game and whatever the hockey game was. I was eternally schooled on multiplayer Goldeneye by my stepkids and their friends. Frickin’ Oddjob and the golden gun.

Might have to take them out to the desert and ‘liberate’ them back to their home, have to make sure to wear gloves as they are prickly little shits.
Except for the ‘not little’ ones as they can get as big as a small car.
I think the last movie I saw in the theater was Jurassic World. My two youngest (17 and 19 at the time) wanted to go to see it, so we made it a family outing. Well, mom wasn’t interested, so she didn’t go to the movie. It was kind of cool seeing the big dinosaurs on the huge screen.
That was 9 years ago. I don’t get out much apparently.
I do not go often, but I really enjoy movies. Since everything is streaming eventually, we usually wait until we can watch it at home. No people talking, I can pause to go get a beverage or whatever. No need to crate the dogs. Just easier.
That said, some movies are worth the expense and hassle to see on the largest screen.
I will either see Horizon or the next Deadpool movie in the theater. That will probably be it for this year.
To be honest, I am not sure which movie was the last one I saw in a theater. It has been that long.
But I liked Tower Heist and I liked one of the “Oceans” movies.

Thinking about going to see Horizon. Thinking the big screen would help that, even though 3 hours is a long movie, plus it’s “part 1”
Horizon looks some like another dances with Wolves which is OK. Still disappointed Cosner left Yellowstone.
Agreed, but that is on Sheridan, not Costner. Scripts were delayed months, and Sheridan tried to blame everything on Costner saying he was only available for 1 week. That was after Costner had put his own money on this Horizon project and been spending millions on the delay trying to work things out.
he finally said he had to start his Horizon movie while he could, and if they needed him during the next 6 months, he could get away for 1 week.
Sheridan overextended with all the spin offs and taking big money from Paramount
Sheridan is notoriously difficult to work with.
I struggle with Costner’s love interest being 32 years younger than him.
It’s a trend.
We go out to dinner at a restaurant that’s atop a local hotel.
Riding up the elevator I note quite a few older gents bring their ” grand daughters” up.
They talk about half your age plus 7, but come on, what do I have in common with a (brain clicking and clacking) with a 35 year old? Our tastes in music and culture are a generation apart. They went to high school this century!
