So is it smarter long term to extend Addison or trade him.
Pro’s and Con’s on both sides of the argument. Has he learned to stay out of trouble off the field or would it be better to get what we can for him now.

The Denver Broncos just gave up a first, third, and fourth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for Jaylen Waddle, and the Buffalo Bills sent over a second-round draft selection to the Chicago Bears for D.J. Moore. In the last three seasons, Addison has scored more touchdowns (24) than both Waddle (12) and Moore (22)’

Last night we learned that our local Mayor (47 year old with 5 kids) who just took office in Jan had a ‘medical issue’ and passed away.
My first thought was ‘medical issue’ was a euphemism for ‘drug overdose’ but then we learned he was in a Town Hall and actually speaking when he fell out. He was the old Mayor assistant and endorsed by her so part of the team that had Nampa named as ‘The Best Run City In The US’ eight years in a row.
Not sure what happens next, maybe bring back the old Mayor, we thought she was great when we met her a couple of years ago.

A slightly different take on the KAM/KOC who wanted who and all of that.
Many years ago a guy named Pete Gent wrote a book called “North Dallas Forty” which later was used as a pretty good movie.
But Gent claimed something in the book I found interesting and a rather different perspective.
His claim was that the players weren’t really the players, they were merely the chess pieces. The “real players” were the owners – playing against each other.
Perhaps not on this site, but most of the football world thought we were fools letting Darnold go. and then rolling with McCarthy. No doubt, much hindsight, but we were (are) a bit of a laughing stock around the league.
If Gent is even somewhat close with his thinking, how do you think the owners took all of that.
My guess not very well, and someone’s head was going to roll – and did.
Just a different perspective.

Well I guess the Wilfs signed off on hiring Kwesi as our GM, who allegedly was the main culprit in royally effing up the QB situation, so a big part of the blame might be on them.

Don’t know which genius convinced them that it would be a good idea to hire Kwesi…

When you start the year $43M in the hole against the cap, you’re not spending more money on players. You’re cutting them. First rule of holes. When you’re in one, stop digging. That’s what Brez did. He stopped digging. He cut guys and restructured a few contracts to get back under the cap. He brought in a few cheap players, and made an offer on the Bills OT for $4.5M.

I see his moves as being practical and prudent. Get the fiscal house in order, address the QB room, bring in a big DB (Pierre is 6’2″) and start with the rebuild when you get to the draft. So far he has steadied the ship, and I like what he’s done.

This is a transition year IMO. Have to move on from the KAM era, and reset. We will make incremental changes, and still be relatively competitive. If losing our two starting inside DT’s doesn’t kill us, and the defense remains potent, then I see the team having a decent season, maybe even a really good one.

Wentz came to the team a week before the regular season started, and then had to start with very little “time on task” with the team. His first game though with no real reps with the offense, he completed 70% of his passes, with 2 TD’s and a 129.8 passer rating. That was a very impressive showing. Then he didn’t play great, but he didn’t play poorly in his second game against the Steelers, with another 2 TD’s but unfortunately a couple interceptions as well. His third game he completed 73.5% of his passes, threw another TD, and had a 102.1 passer rating. So in his first three games with absolutely no training camp or experience with the team, he played really well. Then the injuries occurred to his ribs and ankle, and his performance dipped. Then his shoulder got busted up and that was that.

All in all, for what he faced, he did play pretty damn well IMO.

KOC speaks in a little “political” speak, but actions are real.
When he started Wentz against the Chargers that night with Wentz a total hospital case rather than a 99% JJ, in a game we had to win, that spoke volumes how he really felt about things.

I agree with this take JR. Completely. 3 days after that game, McCarthy was telling the media he was feeling the best he had felt in in a long time, and was completely healthy. Soooo… yeah. How much difference did 3 days make after over 6 weeks of nursing an ankle?

I saw a story yesterday where some pundit claimed KOC wanted Darnold, Jones, or Rodgers as his QB, but was “overruled”. I assume that would have been KAM who did that. I always take these kinds of stories with a grain of salt though, because I don’t think any pundit knows what happened inside the building between KOC and KAM last year.

That said, we’re going with two vets who have had success in the league, and McCarthy who so far hasn’t demonstrated he can run an NFL offense (to me).

Will McCarthy be QB3?

The media loves to fawn over KOC. He gets the benefit of the doubt at every turn.

To think that KAM didn’t consult KOC on his QB choices and overruled him is crazy. KAM would have had to overrule the head coach and the scouting department then.

So KAM’s choices were to spend big money on a QB, or not. Darnold, Jones, or Rodgers would have come with a pretty big price tag. So KAM chose “not”. That’s how I see it.

KOC thinks JJ sucks and doesn’t want to hitch his career/wagon to JJ….

KOC is on the hot seat.
Or he should be.

He better get the team into the playoffs and win a game, otherwise…..

I wouldn’t say I’m excited about it, but I’m not meh either. It’s kind of interesting to me. Murray isn’t a classic QB in any regard. He made his bones his whole career by running with the ball more than throwing it. He is very fast, and he can break plays wide open with his elusiveness. That said, he has a pretty good arm too. So it will be interesting to see how he integrates his skillset with KOC’s scheme. Can he actually execute the offense as designed? Or is he going to run around and ad lib? Can he make reads and progressions at light speed, or is he a slow processor? Dunno. I’m interested to see how he fits in the offense, and if he can make it go.

Pretty meh about the signing as well, I love that we can crack lots of midget jokes now that our QB 1 (yeah, competition and all that aside…) is an actual midget. I’d be very surprised if Murray would be able to pull a Darnold and win 14 games with the team.

Re-signing Wentz is pretty telling concerning “Nine”, looks like KOC and his staff have pretty much given up on him? Not just injury prone, but immature and nowhere near being capable of becoming the leader of an NFL offense and a franchise QB from what he showed so far? We’ll find out.

I am…interested, maybe. It is not ideal, but I’d rather watch Murray than JJM or Wentz.

Perkins pancakes are the best

Think of them as a thin muffin topped with maple syrup. Chocolate chips on pancakes are not on my list of things to try.

Best pancakes I ever had was at Dennys in San Diego. They offered fresh peaches and whipped cream as a topping. I have not had pancakes since I don’t think and that was about 20 years ago.

Been doing a Flip My Life shake for breakfast for the last month now. It’s supposed to help you age better and feel better overall…..supposedly. Jury’s still out.

Coffee for sure though.

We tend to focus on balanced meals, minimize processed foods, regular exercise and do things in moderation.

We are both mid 60s, health and active. Once i reach the point of being unable to do things and enjoy the day, it will be time for me to call it quits.

I just hope i see a Super Bowl trophy before that

Yeah the processed foods thing is real, but I hate cooking and preparing food, so it’s a real conundrum.
