Biden the liar publicly claims he inherited 9% inflation when he took office.

Biden’s factually incorrect claim came during a rare interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett on Wednesday evening, when he was asked about low consumer confidence regarding the economy, including housing costs going up, real income adjusted for inflation going down, and weak economic growth since Biden took office.

“No president has had the run we’ve had in terms of creating jobs and bringing down inflation. It was 9% when I came to office — 9%,” the 81-year-old president said.

In fact, inflation was just 1.4% when he came into office in January 2021. It grew to 9.1% in June 2022, 17 months later.

He also claimed he had created 15 million jobs since he became President…

A group of illegal immigrants staying at an encampment in Denver, Colorado, have sent a list of demands to the mayor’s office.

The group submitted a list of 13 demands, which include access to free immigration lawyers, shower facilities, employment support, free visits by medical professionals, free transportation, and fresh cooking ingredients that will be “provided by the City.”

A new poll has revealed that Independent voters believe President Joe Biden is a bigger threat to Democracy than former President Donald Trump.

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll showed that 53% of participants believed Biden is the greatest threat right now to Democracy, with Trump receiving 42% of the vote.

The poll consisted of 1,199 Americans who participated from April 22nd-24th. There is a 3.6 point margin of error.

“I find it shocking,” MSNBC commentator Susan Del Percio said about the poll. “I can’t make sense of that number. I wish I could. I wish I had some really great insight into it.”

Was watching a Ravens game earlier while I was writing up a report. There was a replay, and the expert commentator mentioned the defense was playing “quarters”. I looked up and had to laugh. The defense was playing 2-Man, which is a two-deep, man-under coverage where the two deep-half safeties take the deep coverage over the top. It wasn’t close to a quarters defense. Quarters (or Cover 4) is a four-deep, three-under zone defense. In this alignment the three linebackers are responsible for splitting the underneath section of the field into threes, while the cornerbacks and safeties are responsible for splitting the field into fours on the deep section of the field, from sideline to sideline. There is no way anyone with a modicum of football knowledge could mistake Cover 4, for 2-Man. Just boggles the mind.

An appeals court in Georgia has decided to re-examine a decision made by a lower court that allowed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to carry out her legal prosecution of former President Donald Trump’s “election meddling” case.

Trump has gotten another favorable ruling that could push any future trials beyond the November election. The judge in Trump’s Florida lawsuit involving confidential materials had postponed the trial date indefinitely as well.

Due to Willis’s intimate relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, which clearly seemed like a conflict of interest, Trump and other defendants in Georgia worked to have Willis and her office removed from the case. However, Judge Scott McAfee of the Superior Court ruled in March that there was no conflict of interest that prevented Willis from taking the case.

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter had his appeal on three gun charges rejected by a federal court, setting up a June 3rd trial date in Delaware.

The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals cited a lack of jurisdiction and dismissed Hunter’s bid to consider having the case thrown out, according to a Thursday court filing.

“This appeal is DISMISSED because the defendant has not shown the District Court’s orders are appealable before final judgment,” the court’s order states.

However, lawyers for Hunter Biden can seek a review from the full bench of the 3rd Circuit or petition the U.S. Supreme Court to consider the case as well.

Don’t know the process outside DC. There, Appeals Court is the most liberal (democratic) in the country. You can get lucky in initial case and draw 2 Repubs and 1 Dem judge. And win with solid legal reasoning. But it the full Court takes it up, and their are political overtones, guess who is going to lose every time.

Judges can be impeached for misrulings. This is a pretty standard legal finding. No way any panel can really overturn this dismissal without risking repercussions.

Chaney doesn’t actually live in Wyoming, just claims residency. I trust that the people of Wyoming will solve that problem if she shows up. Colorado will be too stoned to realize what is going on, and I have faith in NE and and KS holding that line. AZ, NV will be alright. NV may be a lost cause, but the desert will be hard to get across and the mountains and mormons of Utah will stop the advancement from the west. Northern CA may be lost since they are surrounded, but they could probably take OR and then with ID they’d have WA surrounded and can push em into the Puget sound. After that is successful, push southern CA into Mexico.

Today is my 4th wedding anniversary (we’ve been together 10 years total)

Have a dinner reservation at our favorite soul food place tonight @ 8

Then some drinks at the Starlight Lounge – a dark little underground joint with 1950’s decor and fantastic martinis. Being type 2, I don’t drink very often but tonight I’ll make the exception.

I’ll pour the wife into bed around 11, take Goose for a late night walk and end the day with a joint on the porch.

I’ve got plans in motion to take her to Maui for our 5th anniversary – wood is the theme for a 5th anniversary and I proposed to her underneath the Lahaina Banyan Tree there in 2018.

Yeah, it is wicked expensive to live there, travel there, etc…

I’ve met a few friends of friends that have relocated to Hawaii in their retirement, of course they love it there but the biggest detriment is family doesn’t come to visit nearly as often as they hoped. End of the day family is one constant in our lives, I would miss them.

Absolutely right about being expensive. We stayed 10 days and our first trip to the grocery store there was over $500 – and we made a few trips. Most of the food trucks and fish stands were pretty reasonable in price. My SIL was with us (they were living in Paris at the time where there is very limited fast food) and she insisted on Taco Bell one afternoon. It was almost $60 to feed 4 of us – at Taco Freaking Bell – never again.

This (and some Kona coffee) was the only souvenir I bought while there. Watched this dude carve this thing by hand, then I paid for it and he sanded and lacquered it and I picked it up the next day. Cost me $50.

Agreed. In 2018 it was sticker shock. Wasn’t my idea – when I travel I don’t want fast food of any kind. I want local fare. Mom and pop joints. Only other place we went to that was a chain was Bubba Gump Shrimp – and that was only because we heard a rumor that Tommy Chong was there.

Good morning Nordic Nutbags!

QotD: IN KOC I TRUST

McCarthy will see a ton of preseason reps – guessing Darnold gets the start with McCarthy after and Hall/Mullens in mop up duty – one of those 2 is out of a job regardless.

I think it’s Darnold starting the season.

Buuuuuuuut…..

Russell Wilson started as a rookie. Ben Roethlisberger was 13-0 as a rookie starter.

Countless examples of rookie QB’s who were ruined by starting sooner than necessary.

If McCarthy proves competent in OTA’s and training camp, it would not surprise me to see a bonafide QB competition played out in preseason reps.

McCarthy starts by week 6.

Wilson threw the ball the fewest times of any QB in the league in his rookie season. The SeaHawks were built around Beastmode and one of the greatest defenses ever (Legion of Boom). Wilson himself accentuated the running attack more than anything, with his scrambling ability. It’s far easier to be a running QB than a passing QB in the NFL. If JJ is going to be successful as a rookie, then our defense needs to play historically well, and our running game must also be historically strong.

Big Ben was also last in attempts his rookie year – also behind a great defense and a solid running game.

I watched the game to the end of the second period and went to bed thinking they were going to piss the game away…I was right. Something about that score, it is not the same as 3-1 or 2-0. They sat back in a defensive shell, Skinner let in soft goal #1…then bang bang two goals in less than a minute and game over.

If a bill has 100% or 0% support of the people (only slight hyperbole, nothing is ever 100 or 0 but you get the point) that bill still has roughly a 30% chance of being passed no matter what. We the people do not matter, have no say. It’s gotten so twisted because at the root of the matter is we the people don’t care enough to do anything about the fact our say literally means nothing to them. We the people refuse to hold any politician accountable for not caring about we the people by pretending to care and saying all the right things every 4 or 2 years. We are the politicians perpetual prom date who never learn that they will tell us anything so they can fuck us. And then it’s supported by voting for them.

The voting base is dumb and falls for stupid political ads. Take Jon Tester for example. One of the most corrupt Dems in congress and has taken more money from lobbyists than anybody, but he will win this fall. They have already started non-stop ads and have painted Tim Sheehy as nothing but a rich out of stater and the Republicans have not countered at all. This is the same playbook they use with this guy every time and it works. People are not informed and just fall for a 30 second ad that says Sheehy is the reason their property taxes have went up because he bought a ranch and a house in Big Sky. This is all not to mention the fact that the only time they have acknowledged his Special Forces background was a lie about him shooting himself. People will fall for it. Every 6 years Tester hops in an old pickup and pretends to be a farmer and “real” Montanan and people go with it because they are dumb.

It’s too late. They’ve successfully painted Sheehy as a rich out of stater. It is easier to set the narrative than to counter it. It will take 10 times the ads to change the narrative and convince people that ole Teste is as corrupt as he is and that he doesn’t have Montana’s best interest at heart because he threw a hay bale on a commercial and the commercials say that he is against the open border and is working with Republicans to protect Montana. He’s a slime ball and should have been easy to beat, but the Democrat machine is better than the Republican one. All the Republicans need to do to win that seat is put up a decent Republican from Montana but every time it is somebody who is too easy to paint as a rich out of stater that doesn’t know anything about Montana. Oh and Rehberg was a great choice 12 (?) years ago. Let’s put up somebody for election that is suing the fire department because a wildfire burnt up brush on the property that he wants to develop. Lots of reasons. Let’s talk about one reason that is near and dear to Mjolnir. SD passed Medical and Recreational weed… but of course she found a way to nix the recreational part while at the same time her reasoning for saying SD isn’t going to do a blanket shut down during covid and mandate vaccinations was because we as South Dakotan’s are adults who can choose what we do and don’t want in our bodies, that is of course except for the devil’s lettuce. The real issue for her in those whole ordeal is what really gets to me. Her husband sells federally backed crop insurance and if SD farmers started switching to weed which isn’t federally legal they’d lose money on that. So she was very much against hemp saying cops won’t know the difference between hemp and weed… really?

She’s politically savvy while being a policy weakling. Her biggest strength is the realization that most voters aren’t paying attention and that South Dakota lacks an adversarial media environment. The few policy areas where she does care are the worst ones–moralizing cultural issues like abortion and weed. Her ambition for higher office exceeds her reasons FOR higher office. She uses her office to enrich her family personally. 4.5 million in tax payer direct cash payments to her family business She spends VERY little time actually legislating for SD. She was known as No-Show Noem when she was in the US House

Behind closed doors struck some kind of deal with a bunch of key decision makers to get her daughter 3 opportunities to get her real-estate license and Kristi was found guilty of wrong doing there. Also known as Nepotism Noem as governor.

Lying about being behind the law suit by the Pennington co Sheriffs, and then coming out “oh yeah that, that was me”.

That’s enough for now

Also no BJs in corn fields at prom, that’s the real reason!

The problem is you’re just voting out corrupt to replace it with a new corrupt no matter if you’re going D>R, R>D, R>R, D>D, D>I, etc, etc, etc so people lose hope and stop giving a damn.

We can hope that is not going to be the case, but when that is what happens to people over and over, then they lose interest. There are not enough good people getting into politics because it is too cut throat. Why would a decent person want to get involved knowing that every tiny detail of their life is going to be aired out?

She learned how to do all that from Pete Ricketts.

Medicinal Marijuana was on the ballot here after reaching the required 100,000 signatures (we hit almost 130,000) At the time my wife worked for the non-profit run by state senator Adam Morfeld – who was co-sponsor of the petition along with another state senator, Anna Wishart. I helped canvass this city and a bunch of counties in western Nebraska. We hit our goal. Getting it on the ballot was the easy part. This thing would’ve passed on Election Day with no problem.

Enter Pistol Pete Ricketts – he gets the Lancaster County Sheriff to protest saying the petition broke the state constitution – it did, the ballot initiative allowing medicinal marijuana broke the states ‘single subject’ rule for ballot initiatives. Many other previous bills have violated this rule and were overlooked. Not this time. NE Supreme Court tossed it off the ballot. Which means we had to start over and collect the 100,000 signatures again. We were willing to do so, but one of our major donors to the issue died. Despite a valiant effort, we came up short on signatures.

We’re regrouping and have gotten commitments from several high-end donors. We will make this happen, the right way – it’s just taking longer than we would’ve liked.

It’s worth pointing out that while Pete Ricketts vehemently opposes marijuana legalization his dad Joe, founder and onetime CEO of TD Ameritrade – sent an email out to TD clients boasting about the investment opportunities of medicinal and recreational cannabis farms in Canada.

Was thinkng more short term – and BOTH parties as members of Congress should be concerned here. Reasert their power of the purse.
They should immediately pass a resolution for the arms to be released – NO Conditions. Then the President is in clear violation of the law and can be impeached
Both parties in Congress should be concerned about any President taking powers away from the legislature.

To be a great NFL QB, you need four things. First exceptional arm talent. Second exceptional processing ability. Third, a really good scheme and receivers. Fourth, a really good O-line.

Note, two of the four things are out of the QB’s hands.

The difference between Teddy vs Darnold and JJ vs Darnold is there is a considerable difference in arm strength with JJ. Love Teddy, but he didn’t have an above average NFL arm, quite the opposite. Darnold doesn’t have a particularly strong arm either.

I say JJ is starting by November.

While “arm strength” is certainly important, I’d just say Jeff George had the biggest arm I ever saw, and he was a nothing burger as an NFL QB. On the other hand, Joe Montana didn’t have a cannon.

Agree on the Jeff George arm strength thing – he had a cannon and was a master of the off-the-back-foot throw.

Unfortunately he was also a master at pissing off teammates and coaches and whipping the ball into triple coverage out of pure petulance.

Crazy arm strength though. Probably the strongest I’ve ever seen
