I landed in Charlotte last night, and it is beautiful here. It was 30 and snowing when I left Bismarck, and it was 75 degrees here when I landed. One of my goals while I’m here was to grab some soul food. Well, I accomplished that goal within a half hour of landing. I sat down to eat at the hotel when I landed, and lo and behold, on the menu was pan seared trout with collard greens. Friggin yummy, I really miss the south.
There’s something I DO NOT like, and that’s the gestapo that they call the TSA. I hate that we’ve become such a nation of pansies that we’re willing to allow these nazi bastards to violate our privacy, grope us at the airport, and search through our personal belongings. I opened my luggage and found this, I get these far too often when I fly, and it p***es me off.
I’d LOVE to find out who the TSA agent was who looked through my bag, and go to where they live, break into their car, rifle through all his stuff, then leave him/her/it a note saying that I looked through their stuff to make sure it was safe. I absolutely hate this, we are NOT a free country as long as we allow this crap. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are terrorist pieces of fecal matter who should be tried for treason and hung. End of rant.

Played 9 holes today at a course with water in play on every hole. Not a long course but yeah, very difficult green complexes, and trouble everywhere. My adjustment to my swing at the bottom continues to hold up. Feeling compression on a lot of shots. I’m pushing some shots a little bit to the right now, but definitely striking the ball with more authority than I ever have. I have gained a dozen yards on every iron.
I shot 43, mostly because my chipping and putting was weak today. I really got fooled on some reads (like by 8 feet) so I wasn’t scoring well. That said, I struck the ball well, didn’t lose a ball, and didn’t kill or maim anyone in my group. The guys I played with were a lot of fun too.
Seems like there is a golf God that likes to torment us. On days our ball striking is solid, short game is off. On days putting is really good, ball striking is off. But maybe that’s the lure of it that keeps us coming back.
Yeah, it’s always something. That said, I’m not displeased with my round. I hit some really good, solid iron shots today. Some a little too good that went over the green. Still a little wary of “trusting” my distances.
Oh, for sure 43 is solid golf, especially on a course with water everywhere.
Damn right, fuck the TSA. Ever see Penn and Teller’s bit about that? They use to sell small metal (not sure which exact metal) versions of the Bill of Rights at cost, so making no money on the ordeal. So you could put it on you and see if the TSA would literally take your rights away. They bought one of the actual machines they used and showed how easy it was to profile folks that go through them as well. Bastards. Hope everyone is well!

Not having flown to or from Israel, I’m a virgin to their screening process. But just browsing reddit (no finer source!) it seems their screening is far stricter than ours. How do they do it?
Everybody is handed an MP5 as they board the plane.
I am probably wrong, but I imagine they hand screen every single piece of luggage.

There should be nothing wrong with profiling to a degree. Just have to explain it right and tell the libs to shove it. Let’s say you’re a game warden and you pull up to a fishing access. There’s two vehicles sitting there. One is a new Land Rover with Orvis stickers in the back window. The other is a beat up 1990 Honda with a garbage bag over one of the windows. Which fisherman are you checking first?

Know the staff lawyer at Homeland who first set up TSA and it was all about profiling. But the Saudis have (had) big friends in the WH and they didn’t want to offend them.
Think about it. Any terrorists over 65, any women, any families (blow up your wife and kids). It really isn’t that hard, to do well, and it would actually be better. 80 year old women, or men, in a wheel chair don’t blow themselves up.
Forfeit freedom for safety and you will end up with neither.

Given it was his first year starting, he was next to Bradbury and only had CD on the other side for 1/2 the season he still did decent. No reason to expect he won’t do better next season given upgrades.
I can see a CB or S early as we are currently not deep in the DB as it stands now. Trades or a FA signing could change that of course.

The “hole” at left guard… Brandel actually played INCREDIBLY well while Darrisaw was playing, go look at his numbers before and after Darrisaw going down. It’s not to say Darrisaw was totally making up for Brandel’s short comings but he was a first time starter and with Darrisaw over there he only had to focus on himself and helping Turdbury out. I think we are fine, it will be his 2nd year starting. Could we use an upgrade? Sure, but it’s not a dire situation like the past lol.

Not a huge fan of the greens. If done well they will get eaten. Even Brussel Sprouts taste ok when you cook them in pork fat or bacon grease.

i actually have become good friends with my personal NSA agent that watches over all my texts/phone calls/emails/conversations…
i usually send him/her a nice goodnight and good morning text.
Any my wife usually gives the TSA Agent a tip after he gropes and fondlers her.
My wife often gets her luggage searched for some reason. Potentially because she is so muscular, and she has tattoo’s they are looking for illegal steroids, or other drugs. Dunno. She is also “randomly” searched with her bags inspected going through TSA almost every time.
A true story. Several years ago was flying back from singapore and had a layover in Guam. This was when TSA were also at the gate and randomly selected 3 or 4 passengers just before boarding.
There was a group of five Middle Eastern guys that were about as rough as I had ever seen.
Yet, TSA selected four good looking blonds to pat down prior to entering plane.
Worthless perverts.

I saw them go over an old lady in a wheelchair very thoroughly once, while some guys I really thought were much more suspicious looking went through without a second look.
In 2005 was returning from FL. our first family vacation that included flying. Youngest daughter at the time 6 yo, bleach blonde reddened face from FL sun got pulled out for random search. I am watching from a short distance and guy says now I am gonna pat your tummy and close to your bottom. I was a much quicker and bigger man than, jumped a rope “barrier” and told the dude no stink’n way. Had 3 bigs guys by me immediately, held my ground and said “If you touch her any more I am callings cops. Supe came over and let us through. Supervisor was level headed.

We flew 3 weeks after 9-11. Daughter was 5. She forgot she had plastic “Barbie” Scissors in her craft bag she had in her backpack. TSA pulled her aside. I demanded to go with. when they found and confiscated the scissors, my daughter felt terrible as started bawling.
I said very loudly, “You have made a 5 year old girl cry, over plastic. Hope you are proud of yourself”.

Flying has been shit ever since, and gotten worse. Instead of profiling, they pretend it is random.
It pays to be fat and ugly like me. I never get patted down by the TSA.
Of course, now that I have posted this online, I’m sure our friendly NSA overseer that is watching us all here will alert the TSA to get me next time.

Saw them in concert a few years ago at the MN State fair. No regrets, it was a fun show, and since I am normally 20 years behind the music I listen to, I did not care that most people hate Nickleback.

Hey GF, that pan seared trout looks delicious. There are many restaurants around here that have some great seafood like that. Sea Bass is about my favorite. There’s quite a few Cuban food restaurants too, and I love that food.

Because it’s in North Dakota who’s main purpose is to keep Minnesotans out of Montana (you’re not doing a very good job over there by the way).
Actually recent stats show that Montana is losing more residents (20.8%) than Minn which is actually gaining residents Minn (5.4%) and ND which is gaining even more (14.8%).
Not sure I trust the data since it shows Calif only losing about 10%.

When you’re comparing places with vastly different population numbers, percentages don’t tell the whole story. If we’re losing residents, then maybe Californians are getting tired of the cold, bears, lions, snakes and guns and going home. Maybe it’ll mean home prices will start coming down a bit.
I think they believe they are going to move to a Yellowstone Movie Set and they find out reality is quite a bit different.
We visited Idaho almost a dozen times before moving here, we knew what we were getting into.
