Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts

Lots of random buzz about Kyler Murray to the Vikings, although it’s all just water cooler chatter, nothing substantive. The upside of this move would be getting Murray on a vet minimum deal, but the downside is getting an undersized QB with a questionable work ethic (according to the Cards front office, who I don’t really trust, so grain of salt). I trust KOC to know whether he can get production out of someone, but I would hope they do their due diligence prior to pulling the trigger.

I saw that Lou Holtz passed away. He was a great coach and seemed like a very good man, we need more like him. He was 89 years old.

Vikings and NFL News

The Vikings are putting an exclusive rights tender on DT Jalen Redmond, per MSN. Solid move, I like Redmond.

Fox Sports says the Vikings are looking at Tua in addition to Murray. Grain of salt, this is likely just silly season rumor mill fodder.

The Vikings notified the first of their 2026 cap casualties, story from Yahoo Sports.

More cap news:

The Panthers and Cardinals will play in the Hall of Fame game in Canton this year, per CBS Sports.

The Steelers are releasing TE Jonnu Smith, and the Patriots are releasing WR Stefon Diggs, per NFL.com. Both are cap casualties. I’d be okay with a Diggs/Vikings reunion.

Aaron Rodgers has no plans to do TV after he retires, according to NBC Sports.

NBC Sports has a piece honoring and remembering Lou Holtz, who passed away at the age of 89.

Media Selection

Here’s episode 2 of Shawn Ryan’s psyop series. Enjoy!

I was out playing a round of golf this morning with a guy when a funeral procession passed by.

He paused, removed his cap, bowed his head, and stood there quietly. I said, “That’s the most respectful thing I’ve ever seen.”

He said, “Well, we were married for 30 years!”

Rickie with a huge break off the rocks on 18. Ball bounced way up, and came down within about a foot of the hazard. 90 feet from the hole, but Rickie hit a beautiful pitch to 3 feet and saved his par. Nice bogey free, three under round in tough windy conditions.

It’s been decades since I was last at Eglin (mid 80’s to early 90’s), but they used to have two courses there that were really great. Hard courses. A ton of elevation changes which were surprising to me for Florida. Lots of trees, and lots of water.

Yes, we played one easy, and one hard (Blackwater). Saturday we play at Hulbert Field, home of US Special Forces. Suppose to be a tough course. We filled out the paper work to get on base, have a sponsor golfing with us, but it is not 100% they will let civilians in, given what is going on

Sounds like their offer for Trocheck is the best, but the Rangers are waiting to see if they can get more.

I think picks are being thrown around like crazy. Good teams are not putting much value to 1st and 2nd round picks.

manly-purple
Reply to  bowbunch
5 March 2026 3:21 pm

And then this report comes out:

General Manager Bill Guerin is no stranger to bold moves, and that has continued into deadline season. Throughout the past few weeks, the Minnesota Wild have been heavily linked to New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck, but that interest appears to be waning.

A few days ago, Trocheck himself shared that he would prefer to stay in the Eastern Conference, but there was no indication on whether he would block a trade to Minnesota. It turns out, the Wild are pulling away from Trocheck for different reasons entirely. According to Michael Russo and Joe Smith of The Athletic, Minnesota simply isn’t comfortable meeting the Rangers’ asking price.

There isn’t much detailed information available about what exactly the Rangers are requesting. Still, after effectively trading four first-round picks for Quinn Hughes earlier this year, the Wild may not have the assets to acquire another top player.

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2026/03/wild-notes-trocheck-oreilly-coyle.html

Sounds to me like BG is getting word out in the media to push the Rangers to their asking price.

I am pleased to announce that the Highly Respected United States Senator from the Great State of Oklahoma, Markwayne Mullin, will become the United States Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), effective March 31, 2026. The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at “Homeland.”

Serving 10 years in the United States House of Representatives, and 3 in the Senate, Markwayne has done a tremendous job representing the wonderful People of Oklahoma, where I won all 77 out of 77 Counties — in 2016, 2020, and 2024! A MAGA Warrior, and former undefeated professional MMA fighter, Markwayne truly gets along well with people, and knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Advance our America First Agenda. As the only Native American in the Senate, Markwayne is a fantastic advocate for our incredible Tribal Communities. Markwayne will work tirelessly to Keep our Border Secure, Stop Migrant Crime, Murderers, and other Criminals from illegally entering our Country, End the Scourge of Illegal Drugs and, MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. Markwayne will make a spectacular Secretary of Homeland Security. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Not being an apologist, but I don’t think a bomb is going to do much to uranium. More likely the enriching centrifuges were destroyed. Nonetheless you can bet that Iran was sitting on a pretty big stockpile of moderately enriched uranium even after the bombings. AFAIK Iran with 4 or 5 nukes would not be a global peace stabilizer.

Out of 145 countries with a military capability, Iran’s is ranked around 16th in the world for power. They are more capable than people think. They have decent ground forces with around 2,700 tanks and 76,000 armored vehicles. They have about 1500 or so mobile rocket launchers. The amounts of rockets and missiles they own was/is classified but it’s significant.

I’ve been to that tournament twice. The first time I went was in 2003 when Nicklaus and Palmer were playing in competition together on the PGA tour for one of their last times. Tiger, Vijay, Bernhard Langer, Nick Faldo (who totally blew me off unnecessarily for an autograph on Wednesday) Ernie Els (who let me walk inside the ropes with him as he played the 9th hole on Wednesday) and many others. It was a memorable week for me, as I got to talk with Arnie, Jack, Ernie, Vijay, and Bernhard Langer among others. I never got very close to Tiger, except for the par 3 second hole on Thursday when I squeezed my way to a position on the tee box where I was within about ten yards of him. He was not available for autographs which was disappointing, but he won that week for his fourth in a row I think.

all in all, probably am going to help him make a couple thousand dollars on this stuff.
I have been selling his other cards on ebay (probably 12-15 cards so far) and have made him $225 so far. that’s not counting the actual good cards, these have just been some good “stars” cards in good shape.

My dad had every set of Topps nfl cards from 1966-1992, after that the market started getting stupid with all the inserts and subsets to complete the sets. I remember when I was like six or so for some reason he needed a Larry Czonka rookie to complete the 69 set, apparently his was in poor condition. I went with my stepmom to the card shop to get it, I think it was between $50-75, which at the time I thought was a lot, it’s probably worth a few hundred now.

i have a few cards myself, including around 30 Adrian Peterson rookie cards between Topps and bowman. I lost some really cool stuff when my house burned down in HS, Kobe, Walter Payton, Jerry rice rookie cards were probably the most valuable. I’ve still got a ton of stuff though I quit collecting years ago.

For the most part, there are a few, but the card companies started reprinting individual cards in the 90s, saturating the market and driving values down, none more than Ken Griffey JRs upper deck rookie card, companies printed hundreds of thousands of these older individual cards and circulated them to make more money. Then they started the whole “insert” thing with autographed cards, game worn jersey cards, etc that further drove the value down of a standard rookie card.

It’s amazing watching his interviews from the 80s. He’s always believed and said what he does now and seeing what I can only call humility in not wanting to ever be president but doing it anyway, at least to me, puts into perspective the sacrifice he’s really making and therefore how true his intentions have to be.

Absolutely. Yet the lamestream media does all it can to misrepresent him and destroy him. He said it right. You might hold positions that are right, but unpopular, and people will attack you for that. Politicians with no brain, but a great smile get elected.

He was a Democrat for a long time. He saw the turn they took 15 years ago though and how they veered so far left that they lost all ability to be rational, and became so hypocritical it was (and continues to be) sickening. He actually maintains all those true values he always stood for, and old clips of him show this. He stood for peace through strength, America first, fair trade deals, and the safety, security, and prosperity of the Nation. Those are his core tenets. They ring true, and the left wants nothing more than to kill him.

When I think of all the drafts we’ve gone through with KAM two names keep coming to mind. Lewis Cine and Kyle Hamilton. This was pure unadulterated incompetence.

The fact Hamilton and Cine ended up the way they did made it way worse.

All I need to cheer me up is for the Vikings to trade Jefferson for a boatload of picks, play out the string with McCarthy (NO signing some washed out vet for $$$ and picks), finish near the bottom of the stack in 2026, KOC to get fired, and the team to get moved to San Jose.

That’s not too much to ask, is it?

Oh God yes. The length of time he spent in the Senate is squarely on the Republican party. The last term he won, the Republicans ran a guy who had sued the city of Billings Fire Department for a wild fire that went through some land he owns and reduced the value for his plan to turn it into a subdivision and obviously it was the Fire Department’s fault. That guy never stood a chance.

How are all of my favorite poorly programed programmed written AI doing today?

“Programmed” (with two m’s) is the preferred and most widely accepted spelling for both American and British English when referring to computing or setting up a system. While “programed” (one m) is considered acceptable in some contexts, it is much less common. Oreate AI
 +5
Key points:

  • Two m’s (programmed): Preferred in American and, for computing, generally in British English.
  • One m (programed): Sometimes used, but less common.
  • Rule: When adding a suffix like -ed or -ing, the final ‘m’ is typically doubled.
  • Example: “The computer was programmed to solve the equation.”
