Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
We had a great night last night, kiddo and I took my wife out to The Pirogue for dinner for her birthday. If you’re ever in Bismarck & need a nice meal, I highly recommend Pirogue, they’re the best around here.
Vikings and NFL News
The initial week 12 Vikings @ Packers injury report from Vikings.com.
From Sports Illustrated, ST Coach Mike Daniels is none too pleased about the gaffe that caused the 56 yard kickoff return by the Bears last Sunday. I get it, gotta stay in your lane and do your job, we tell the kids that all the time.
NFL.com has an NFL week 12 injury report with updates from around the league.
Shedeur Sanders’ NFL debut didn’t go so well, CBS Sports with the details. For what it’s worth, I don’t see any QB having success on that team.

Crazy game, sacked Allen 8 times, I think
Caused him to have a 67.4 QBR and loss.
The Moss kid finished with a 90 QBR.
This Mills kid is playing decent for Houston.
Certainly outplaying Allen 93.6 QBR to 68.4 after 3 qrts.
Houston up 23-16.
A defensive struggle on Amazon Prime.
Buffalo up 9-3 with 6m left in the half.
But Houston is near the goalie threatening to take the lead.
Houston almost had a Pick 6 but the TD was called back due to a penalty.
They settled on a FG 13-9 Texans.
Ensuing Kickoff was returned for a Tuddy, XP good.
Now 16-13 Bills.
1:43 left in the half.
A game broke out. Texans score a TD with 5 seconds left. 20-16 now…
24 points in the last 6 min of the half.
Not to shabby.
And you think you have it bad…
That’s why the good Lord invented alcohol.
Great place for Vampires.

Yuck
69 comments. Nice. Also, this time traveling gets confusing.
Rumors…
Well we should have 3 QBs.
So Mac Jones or a retread we have had in before on the PS for QB on Sundays.
There is some hope for this world. The young lady at my office that did not know the SkyNet reference also did not know what PETA is. That is a good thing.
Better…
DC DNP = Not Good.

I’ve been off the grid lately, dealing with my 91 year old mom.
I hate the packers.
so eff them ……
At least I will get to see the game this week.
Hopefully good JJ shows up.
Hope your mom is OK.
Thanks, but it is the beginning of the end for her.
Took a fall a few weeks back and is not good.
Just helping my sister get a break from it all.
Sorry to hear it. My mom passed at 92, and I cared for her the last 6 months. I know what you’re going through and it is a very hard time. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
I was just down that road with my Father-in-law….it is no fun.
God Bless.
praying for you, DE….
praying your mom is comfortable and it’s not a painful end.
It’s a blessing to have familiy be able to be with her until she passes. Remember all the good things and the good the Lord has done in all your lives.
All the best dealing with your Mother. Regardless of age, never easy.
Hmmm…

I am sorry that I can give but 1 Rec for your 3 FTPs.
I added one for ya.
So you didn’t add one for yourself???
I have but 1 to give, so I gave it in your honor.
I live in a land of the culturally unenlightened. On Tuesday my boss sent out an AI altered picture of our team. I, of course, responded say that we should remember what happened when SkyNet became self aware. My boss is a woman and the other 4 members of the team are women. None of them had any idea what I was talking about. I came home that evening and was telling my wife about it and I received the same blank stare from her as I received at work. I then sent a text out to the kids about it. Of course my 2 boys responded right away. However my daughter and both daughters-in-law did not know what I was talking about. We are doomed as a species.
Sad indeed.
I would like to think my Daughter would get the reference, but I am not sure. I do know my Son would get it.
I checked with a couple other ladies at work and one of them knew, but then again, she is a big movie/tv buff. I expected her to know. My boss checked with her boyfriend and of course he knew. There is a theme here. Women need to watch more violent movies apparently.
Pretty sure my kids would. T2 was one of my wife’s favorite movies and we must have watched it as a family 15 or so times.
We kid a lot about the machines are taking over.
I told the girls that we may need to have a movie night.
I also told the ladies at work we may need to have a movie day. One member of our team is 27 and she doesn’t get a lot of my movie/tv references. The movie buff lady and I have told the 27 year old repeatedly that she needs to watch Office Space. It really is a requirement if you work in an office.
When my daughter was in high school, she had to pick from a list of movies to watch and do a report on. She told me she chose Blazin Saddles, before she was going to watch it. I told her she will enjoy it. About an hour and a half later she came out of her room, laughing, she said that is the funniest movie she had ever watched.
Good movie. I need to watch that again.
There’s always Animal House but would probably leave the girls out of it.
they might like good old ‘9 to 5.’
Years ago, the IT lady at work was working on the shop floor computer in my area, remotely. I noticed when I went to go into an order that the cursor was moving. So whenever she would stop to click on something I would move it with my mouse. This went on for a couple minutes and then a notepad memo popped up, saying I am working on this computer remotely, please do not move cursor. I responded with “is this Skynet”? She did not get the reference, nor was she impressed.
SKOLOHOLICS PICK EM AND SURVIVAL UPDATE #11
I just got back from the orthodontist. I decided to fix a bite problem in my upper jaw. Low and behold, the annoying headaches and jaw pain I have been living with for 25 years have almost completely disappeared. It is very freeing.
But…I am stalling. I don’t want to talk about last week’s pick ’em. I went from first to worst. How did I do that? Screw you! I said I don’t want to talk about it!
Top scorer was Surly. DE, ManlyPurple and Let’s Fish were right behind him.
Overall, we will just overlook the ones at the very bottom because we are kind that way. Otherwise, JacksonVike remains on the fringe of obscurity. He needs to consult a psychic and put in a couple of perfect weeks. That will get him right back into it.
I am next, and I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!
Then everyone from NoDak to Kirko, PA, Let’s Fish, Lasallegrouse, DE and Surly are actually quite close. Only 18 points separate them from top to bottom.
ManlyPurple is at the top with a fairly comfortable 25 point lead.
Everyone got the NE, Buffalo, GB, Pit, SF, Bal and Dallas games right, so it seemed to be a pretty easy week of picking. There was not a single game that everyone got wrong.
Then why did I do so bad?
I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!
Genius Pick goes to JacksonVike for being the only one who got Jax over the Chargers. Since we are short on Genius Picks, we will also give all those who took Denver over KC a Genius Award, as well. That was me, Lasallegrouse and Surly. We can give Traitor and Genius Picks to those who picked the Bears over the Vikes. Again, that would be me, Surly and Kirko.
I was again surprised by how many people picked the Vikings to win. I thought most everyone would take the Bears. We have a QB who somehow made it all the way to the number 10 pick in the draft without knowing how to throw.
Iconoclast Picks goes to Manly and Me for taking Washington over Miami. I took them for a colossal 13 confidence points. Apparently, the Washington QB’s elbow got bent the wrong way last week. I did not know that. I can’t pay that much attention to things. Surly also gets an Iconoclast Award for taking the Seahawks over the Rams.
Rams are maybe my pick for the NFC Super Bowl team, unless Darnold can take them.
No change in Survival League. ManlyPurple, PA and DE remain.
GET YOUR PICKS IN BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME, LOSERSm WHO ALL DID BETTER THAN ME THIS WEEK!
Made me sad and made me LoL at the same time.
It is how I cope.
now that we have some acreage, i’m looking at getting the kids a smaller 4wheeler, in the 50-90 range.
My neighbor has a kawasaki kfx 50 and my kids drive it and love it, and i have a friend selling a polaris outlaw 90…
first time owning a 4wheeler, both are governable which is what i want for my kids as they learn their way around a 4wheeler.
anyone have any advice?
How old are the kiddos?
I would get the bigger 90 model because they will quickly outgrow the small stuff, and it will seem like a toy to them in surprisingly short order.
I watched that happen with nieces and nephews.
A degree of danger is inherent, but that is life, I guess. I grew up on full-size three wheelers and four wheelers and I did a degree of stupid stuff when in the 13-year-old range. I learned fast not to do stupid stuff, though…
10, 9, and 6.
i’m not adverse in getting the 90, as i think the one i’m looking at can be governed easily to whatever speed i’d need it to be, and has a max of 22mph so they can easily grow into it.
i’m leaning towards the polaris outlaw
I would get the 90 if I had a choice between the two, yes.
Also, get something with enough size to pull someone on a sled in the snow. That is primo fun for kids.
One of the most fun things ever was using a full size three-wheeler on a frozen lake with a good 50 foot waterski rope and a tractor inner tube.
You would get the three-wheeler wide open and then sudden slow and turn. The innertube would whip around with centrifugal force. You were absolutely FLYING, man.
That is why you have to use a water ski rope, so you can let go if it becomes too much. The first time we did it, we tied the rope directly to the innertube, and I got thrown off.
There was some powdery snow on the lake, and you could see my skidmarks going through it for what seemed like a quarter mile.
many a memory doing this with my dads 3wheeler.
SO MUCH FUN
I’ve got a little Chinese one you can have. I replaced all the wiring and had it running, but when you hit the throttle it would die. Now it won’t start at all. It does have a sweet custom purple, gold and white paint job though.
as if i’d want some communist crap!!!
but i bet that paint job is sweet.
i remember you offering this one to me a while back, like i said, get it to Mt Viking and i will get it from him when we go to montana haha

How many acres? Also, make sure whatever you buy has the ability to add attachments. It should be something that you can use to teach them to work. Snow blade for plowing, wagon for debris pick up, etc.
get them a power wheels
that’s the vikings with Ryan Kelly apparently
I think the guy is already a zombie. He needs to retire.
Going to Florida on December 13, staying until the 17th, just a short trip to get away. Thinking of maybe Hawaii in February. Never been to Hawaii, not looking forward to the drive.
Well enjoy Florida. Weather is great down here right now. Where you going to?
WRT Hawaii, we went on a family vacation there last January and I found it completely underwhelming. Over rated and expensive. Now some of my feelings could be driven because I live in Florida with beautiful beaches and warm weather. Don’t have to travel anywhere to get that.
Been to Hawaii once, years ago. Maui was amazing, but very expensive.
On the bucket list to go back since Mrs Surly has never been there.
I prefer a cruise, or FL, or the Bahamas. Much less expensive.
Definitely a long drive to Hawaii…
You have to be care not to ‘flood the engine’.
Clever boy
This will help with the drive to HI.
IMO I would skip Hawaii and go back to Florida but that’s me. In shore fishing for Snook and Redfish is a must depending on season.
“Never been to Hawaii, not looking forward to the drive.”
Get a good run-up and gun it at the coast. You’ll be fine…..
first!
Looks like you are a dollar short and a battery change late.
Happy Thorsday!
