In case this is lost on the masses… in the Islamic Calendar, today is the 11th day of the 9th month.
9/11
It’s payback time for all of the Islamic terrorists.
President Trump carried out strikes on Iran on 9/11 during Ramadan.
Badass
You know who else it is lost on? Supreme Leader of Iran Khamenei because he is dead so he missed the irony of being killed on Islam’s 9-11.
Laughing…
I was trying to figure out if Susan was 46 with two kids when the photo was taken or currently. Yes my brain was moving slowly for some reason.
Then I saw the punchline. Sweet.
Headed to an early lunch and some shopping today. I have been very pleased with pretty much everything Trump has done since taking office. He is addressing so many real threats to the country across the board. Tangible fixes to big problems. Attacking corruption and fraud in the Government, sealing the borders, and making trade deals that benefit us. He is making us safer, more secure, and more prosperous. The left is fighting him tooth and nail, but he’s still achieving his agenda. Truly remarkable.
Bon appetit.
‘The left is fighting him tooth and nail’
Which is why getting the conservatives and independents to come out and vote in the mid-terms. You know that the rabid, TDS types will vote multiple times.
The left will execute voter fraud to the maximum extent possible.
It has worked for them for decades so why stop??
It has indeed. To the detriment of the country.
Welp.

Poor Lib/Woke/Dims/Fake News. They have had a tough week since the US Hockey Team won the Gold vs Canada.
Hope all the US/Isreali/Allies stay safe, along with Iranian Civilians.
This just made me laugh…
When men get drunk, they talk shit, get real emotional, drive badly, and like to fight for no reason.
I take my hat off to women. They manage to do all that without drinking!!
CNN has lost nearly two-thirds of its primetime viewers over the past decade, figures show.
The decrease, from roughly 1.3 million in 2016 to 553,000 now, is in a word, startling.
Just proves you can’t rehab some people.
Couple years back their ratings was noted and a new President was brought in to move the company back to the middle. As you’ll recall the first debate last year where Biden bombed and Cnn hosted. the new President threatened to fire the moderators if they didn’t stay middle of the road. And they pretty much did.
BUT, since then they have gone right back to the old ways hard left. And as a result, more lost viewers and lost revenues.
Sooner or later this will come to a head. Money talks loudest in the end.
Indeed…
Honestly, at this point, who in their right mind would vote Democrat?

Yes. This. This. Yes.
Gimme the shit talking brutal play of the 90’s Knicks with John Starks, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason and Xavier McDaniel. Those dudes were formidable and fearless – whole strategy against Jordan was to beat the piss out of him.
LeBron would not be able to handle that for a series, let alone a career.
And yet Jordan still won 6.
Bill Clinton testimony – ” I saw nothing, I did nothing, I know nothing.”
Same with Hillary…
Getting their responses on-record is important I suppose. Especially if they perjure themselves. We’ll see if anything of note comes from this, but personally I don’t think we’ll see any legal ramifications.
The only thing to come from this will be intense pressure from the Democrats and their friends the Press for Trump to testify.
He will claim Presidential Immunity as a sitting President and then the Dems and the press will say see we told you, he’s guilty.
Trump has no dog in the fight. There are no incriminating circumstances regarding his behavior in the files. He is “mentioned” in the files a lot, for various reasons. They even show testimony from people saying terrible things about Trump and making heinous allegations, but they were all shown to be total fabrications. Like the gal who said he raped her at a one of his golf courses in 1996, only to be told Trump didn’t own the course till 2006. She then admitted she made the whole story up to discredit Trump.
As Trump has said, the files exonerate him, and yet the Dem’s keep trying to tie him into terrible acts, that never happened.
The only thing that interests me about this, is who will get suicided over forcing them to testify.
Hopefully some liberal judge won’t toss out all the charges…
Whatever happened to the old adage “iron sharpens iron”?
Isn’t the Star Tribune nothing more than a liberal trash rag.
No idea…

I like Tehieneman, S, if he is there at #49. He is a kind of Swiss Army Knife type that Coach Flo can experiment with.
He is normally rated in 30-40 range so not probable that he will be there for us but it is possible.
https://thevikingage.com/minnesota-vikings-met-perfect-harrison-smith-replacement-nfl-combine
Also high on my list.
I think he’s there at 18.
Don’t think he’ll fall to our spot in the 2nd
Would love to somehow land Peter Woods or Caleb Banks at 18 and Thieneman in the 2nd.
Peter Woods is an unfortunate name, his parents should have known better.
Woods has shown great upside, top 10 worthy, but he has also be wildly inconsistent. Banks has a injury history already and missed most of 2025 due to two injuries.
McDonald, Hunter, and Miller are also intriguing possibilities, Hunter or Miller could fall to #49 if we go DB in round 1.
Mjolnir, I have been away a bit lately…How is your niece doing?
No real news to report aside from small pockets of progress here and there. She’s no longer sedated but not really there – can communicate somewhat but no actual words. There are videos – which are difficult to watch let alone share. She’s got an impossibly long road ahead of her.
They’ve moved her to Madonna rehab in Omaha – hoping to get her moved to Lincoln soon to make it easier on Sam – who still hasn’t gone back to work or left the hospital. Been as far as the parking lot and that’s it. Over 2 months.
Thank you for asking. I intended on sharing an update over the weekend. May still tomorrow as I expect to hear more from my sister as they were to meet with more specialists today.
Hey Mjolnir… thank you. I know this is very, very hard to really discuss. We continue to pray for Madison and your family. I didn’t want to bug you for an update, I figured you would say something when you were ready.
I went Terrell, CB, in the 1st this last time and still get Hunter, DT in the 2nd. Miller, DT was also available in the 2nd but Hunter is more of NT IMHO.
I like the players that don’t suck, they should try that
You’re hired.
Honestly though, I think any armchair GM could have done at least as well as KAM, he had like 30 picks during his tenure and only 10 are currently under contract. You can debate what a hit or Miss is, but not debatable as far as hits are Nailor in the 6nd, Addison, Turner, and Reichard. Jackson looked ok for a rookie and JJ may develop, but in 4 drafts he accumulated only 4 unquestioned starting players with a couple of maybes. His best pick was a kicker ffs. I’m not sure the rhombus of responsibility of Bryzenstpngki, KOC, b-Flo, and ownership will do any better but I imagine if they just follow the consensus big board they’ll do better than KAM.
This could be fun to watch.
lol, cnn rn
Interesting. CNN viewership has waned a lot over the last 3 years. Will converting it to a more middle of the road, or even conservative leaning corporation change that?
More airports will get less fake news?
Seems like it was always they default channel at airports.
It was the Default channel on the TV’s in the Pentagon for decades.
More Woke/Dim/Lib/Fake News heads exploding, Love it!
Remember folks,
Stats only count when they fit your narrative.
Believe I heard Nancy Pelosi say that on numerous occasions.
Yeah… McCarthy also leads the NFL in bad-throw percentage at 24.1%. This is only 0.1% in front of his draft classmate Michael Penix Jr. of the Falcons at 24.0%.
Soooo…
So Both suck? Both have missed a lot of time with injuries, hard to develop when you aren’t even on the practice field, let alone on gameday.
Develop? Throwing a football accurately “develops” in your teens.
This is true, that is why every great QB in the NFL started out great and never looked bad.
Burrow, Marino, Herbert, Brees… to name a few. Great passers… from the start.
Brees was not great from the start, less than 60% completion percentage and more picks than TDs his first two years, Allen’s completion percentage went from like 50% his rookie year to 70% his third year and he was below 60% in college so yeah QBs can improve accuracy
Completion percentages are not an end all reflection of accuracy. On target throws when un-pressured is the metric you need to follow. Bad teams with bad receiving corps, bad coaching, and bad O-lines all affect completion percentages. Allen made bad throws because the throws he was being asked to make were in a word, his worst in his repertoire. His percentages improved when he started making the the throws he was good at, more than the throws he was bad at. Brees was a victim of his own ego. He simply wanted to be the bombs away guy and often was trying to come from behind in games. He showed over his career he was indeed one of the greatest passers of all time though. He was one of the most natural passers ever. Like Marino. Just a guy who could throw a football from the time he was 13 years old.
Brees had nothing close to the arm of Marino.
Brees threw for over 80,000 yards… Marino threw for just over 61,000 yards. Brees threw 571 TD’s Marino threw 420. Brees is the second most prolific passer in the NFL of all time.
Not exactly true, plenty of NFL QBs developed better accuracy their first few years, Allen and Jackson being probably the most prominent recently.
No… not true. Allen missed a lot of throws early on in his career, but he was never “overall” an super inaccurate QB. He had to get his sea legs, and even then, no one considers Allen a great passer. He’s serviceable by NFL standards, but he’s no Burrow or Herbert. Certainly no Marino, Stafford, or Brees. Not even as good as Darnold, who actually is a great passer. He’s a decent passer by NFL standards. Better accuracy on throws made thousands of times in practice? Of course. But as I have said, that innate ability to put the ball in a spot 20 yards away, and hitting a moving target? That doesn’t improve dramatically. It just doesn’t. You can get better, but you’re not getting to that upper tier of passers.
Morning, and TGIFF.
I would start a new thread, but I see the same people posting about the same things, so..
Please continue.
I will help.
Kirk still sucks.
discuss…..
i see downvotes are in full force today
I down voted this because you did not capitalize I.
As valid a reason as any other.
A downvote for you.
#grin
that guy is basically every minnesota Twins and Vikings fan always
Correct, that is definitely me especially in regards to the pohlads
And Timberwolf fan…I am so sick about of their underperformance vs shitty teams that I just have no confidence in them.
I noticed last night that Boldy has a bit of a shiner I don’t remember seeing after the gold medal game.
No black eye here, but there was definitely one last night. I want to know the story.

He, uhh, accidentally walked into a door he thought was open. Yeah, that’s it.
The party those guys were on, there’s got to be a good story behind it.
Yeah, but what does Justin Jefferson know about football?
He’s a homer.
He can believe… but he also said the team would have done much better if Sam Darnold was under center this year. Believing is nice, it’s encouraging, it’s being a good teammate. But when asked directly, he said the offense would have been better under Darnold.
This is what I mean… on un-pressured throws between 10-19 yards – something a quarterback should look really good at under Kevin O’Connell – he’s 38th in Total Points/pass among 39 quarterbacks with 10 or more attempts.
And JJ said on Shannon Sharp’s podcast he’d welcome Kirk back.
Didn’t know that, but it was Cousins who helped Jefferson understand the NFL and what it took to be a pro’s pro. Plus in 2023 before his Achilles injury, Cousins had an 80.4% on-target rate, which was second best in the league. League average on-target rate tends to hover between 73% to 75%. Those extra few catchable balls make a difference. Cousins had an 81% on target rate in 2016, which led the league. That was the year he had his best O-line of his career, and threw for almost 5,000 yards.
BTW McCarthy’s on-target percentage is 59.9%, easily dead last of the 35 qualifying quarterbacks.
What’s he supposed to say, JJ sucks?
It worked pretty well with Sam, until it didn’t. Not so well with Wentz.
Get ready……
Cousins will not be back…
If he is willing to come in for a short, cheap (relatively) deal I would be ok with it. Doubt he would but who really knows?
Cousins is not looking for a short, cheap deal. He’s either going to take a starting job on a 3 year deal, or he’ll retire IMO.
Nope, at this point one maybe two. Good chance he’ll be back.
Where do you see him playing? I see nothing out there where he says “this is a good fit for me”.
Not surprising.
They haven’t lived up to their cap allocations.
Hargrave not traded due to lack of interest or less savings than a simple cut?
Most likely because nobody wants to be stuck with his current contract.
Yep.
His contract is too high.
Logical, since you know he will be cut might as well wait and try to get him on a cheaper contract.
Playing golf is fascist…
A total idiot!
The left uses terms like fascist to describe anyone or anything they disagree with. When you describe a game people play for fun as fascist though, you just show how ridiculously stupid you are.
i guess Tiger is a fascist then? I mean all white people are automatically fascist according to them but a biracial black/Asian man? Is it the combo that makes him fascist?
Not sure that Fascist would get beat up by his wife for being a serial cheater.
Eyeroll…
Facist?
More like ‘signaling’ how special you are and how much money you have, not sure that equates to ‘Fascist’.
That means you’re basically Mussolini.
Apparently… according to this intellectual giant…
NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!
Mutual interest between Anthony Richardson, Vikings after Colts grant QB permission to seek trade
From Pro Football Reference…
We need QBs that can throw the ball accurately. 50% yuck!
Yep.
It’s getting some twitter/clickbait action.
I see no issues.
Hey, we need an
accurateNot often injuredsmart enough to read defensesQB to backup McFragile.
Bring him in, see what he’s got, Darnold and Jones were ass too before they came here.
My gut says this would make more sense and fit their MO.
It’s that time of year I guess…..
Well I guess he doesn’t want to insult his potential new bosses with facts.
Is there an automatic downvote key or something?
Someone (AKA Not Me) is passing out ‘street cred’ to the guys?
LOL……
It’s hilarious that people say something like, “downvoting” is childish etc….and nobody admits to it.
Everybody downvotes.
So why does someone do it anyway?
If you disagree with something posted, simply post a disagreeing comment.
Why do you downvote?
Yes, why does one do it?
My guess is that it is a jealous DNer
Maybe.
But you have to have a Skoloholics login to thumbs up or down.
I downvote infrequently, have not done it in months.
When i do it is either to show disapproval of personal insults or to pass out street cred, usually when asked.
It’s Kwesi…
I only downvote freezey to give him street cred
Street cred and the fact that he sucks.
We’ll see if this rumor/clickbait ends up being true.
I’d rather see Florio get the axe.
Total douchebag.
Gotta make room for Kirk.
Gotta make room for
KirkNLNVF. FIFYI do think Cousins will be in a broadcast booth or pre-game show of some sort this year. He’ll be released on March 11th, and become a free agent, but I don’t see him taking a job with just anybody, or playing for vet minimum. I could see him coming back if a premium starter on a premium team that is contending, goes down. Like Stafford with the Rams for instance.
I chose to believe my reality and in that reality, I am first.
“I’m FIRST!”
First? Skol! FTP
This is probably good long term, right?
Makes sense, considering Dems basically kill their future voters in the womb.
Which leads to wanting people from other countries to vote in the U.S.
Watching the NFL Combine.
We should draft Justin Jefferson, LB, Ala.
You can never have enough JJs.
So per the NFL Players Association’s Survey Miami is the best team to play for and the Steelers are the worst.
The Vikings remain #2.
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/article/steelers-reportedly-rank-last-in-2026-nflpa-survey-dolphins-rank-first-210717324.html
🤣
The two “best” teams to play for have zero chance at winning a superbowl.
And NLV – I’m giving you 15 attaboys.
It’s been pretty boring around here and you got things going.
Imagine, arguing over a QB who hasn’t done jack, let along even stay on the field.
Well done!
Laughing… my take on McCarthy is he isn’t a great passing QB. I’m not alone in that take. Great throwers are born, not made IMO. He’s not going to suddenly become the best passer in the NFL. He can improve for sure, but he is what he is.
You pitched baseballs. Did your accuracy dramatically improve over the years?
So what you are saying is there is no sense in practicing, since the gains are minimal. Quite possibly the worst take ever, of course you are going to get better with practice. Muscle memory is a thing.
No, I didn’t say that.
Yes, THAT is what I said. Practice will give you marginal improvement, not transform you to something you are not. McCarthy’s expected on-target throw rate +/-, which accounts for factors like throw depth, is the worst in the NFL at an atrocious -13%. (For context, -5% is enough to make you one of the worst any given year).
Going against the self proclaimed expert……
OMG just dropped in.
I thought talking about the former Number 8 was exciting.
But believe the new Number 9 is going to break all records.
Simply amazing.
Stupid liberals just further taking their community down. Well, actually most of the people that caused this probably don’t even live there.
Well the good people of Minneapolis elected the Mayor and Governor who were clearly stoking the fires of all the unrest.
Indeed… it’s sad too.
Comical what a shitty place Minnesota has become.
Only going to get worse.
I wouldn’t mind this. What’s your O/U on the point spread? I’m thinking the men would give up at 30.
I saw this…
The Vikings traded their 2024 and 2025 second round picks, and a 2024 sixth round pick to Houston for the 23rd pick in an attempt to package a trade for Drake Maye. When that didn’t work they traded the 2024 11th overall pick, and 2024 fourth and fifth round picks to move up one spot to get JJ McCarthy. Meaning they invested a first round pick, two second round picks, a fourth round pick, a fifth round pick, AND a sixth round pick in an attempt to find their young franchise QB.
And I thought the RGIII trade deal was bad…
And this is why McCarthy is the QB1 no matter if he’s good or not.
And what is starting to look like a dominant outside LB. They invested their 1st round pick, and a 4th and 5th round pick on the QB.
They used those traded picks to draft Dallas Turner as well, and added a couple other later round picks I believe to get him
I just gave you an upvote for this (figured out how) not because I understand what you said but because someone downvoted you and don’t have a clue why.
Thanks, but the downvotes have zero effect on me. I make my comments and if people agree with me fine. If they don’t, fine. It’s a blog.
I’m just curious, and maybe dumb.
What in hell is in your post that is so wrong or unpleasant that someone would downvote it?
Heck if I know… or care. There are folks here who have a thing for me. I live in their head for some reason.
Those “folks” who have a thing for you might well consider what it would be like if you DIDNOT post here and quit..
Maybe a whopping 10 posts a day.
Laughing… There are more folks here who interact with me civilly than don’t so it’s no concern to me JR. A downvote is about the biggest nothing burger there is.
I’m downvoting this post
Laughing
I’m downvoting freezey for downvoting jro….
hope I earn some cred
It is completely misleading, for reasons mentioned above.
This is pretty cool.
Cool goal. Poor goalie. F Edina tho
Indeed
Cake eaters…
Beat me to it.
It’s been a long time since watching the HS hockey tournament.
Brings back memories.
The teams that I remember that were in it a lot back in the day:
Warroad
Edina
Roseau
Hill-Murray
Just another rube talking head opinion. What does this Kramer guy possibly know about playing NFL QB?
He’s a homer, and he can have his opinion. I deal in reality. McCarthy is the worst passer in the NFL at the moment. He reminds me of Hienicke. Feisty guy who makes some great plays occasionally. Kurt Warner said usually, inaccurate QB’s don’t get all that much better over time. I agree with this take. Cousins was known as an accurate passer his whole life, even in high school. Believing that McCarthy, who has had a personal QB coach since he was in the 7th grade, will suddenly become a really great, accurate passer doesn’t make rational sense. That’s a trait you have, or you don’t have IMO. Like free throw shooters in basketball. You either have that certain eye hand coordination that makes you a great free throw shooter, or you don’t. Practice for thousands of hours, and improve a little, but you’ll never be great at it.
I agree with your statement. Also, high ankle sprains do not take 6 weeks to heal. Something tells me they benched him behind the scenes but we will never know for sure.
I’ve played on a bad ankle. In fact I sprained my right ankle in the first game of my Senior year in college, and it was bad the rest of the year. Only McCarthy knows what level of discomfort he was suffering, and if it impacted him so badly he could not take the field. I found it disheartening that Wentz played his final game with bad ribs, a torn labrum, and a cracked shoulder socket, and three days later McCarthy pronounced himself fully healthy, and ready to play. You want me to believe that three days earlier (after 6 weeks of sitting) he wasn’t able to take the field? It doesn’t pass the smell test with me, personally.
Depends on the severity of the sprain, I had that injury after jumping out of a moving car, the sprain included at least partial tears of three ligaments, I would later in life have a tightrope surgery to correct it as it would just buckle tour no reason whole walking sometimes. I’m guessing with world class doctors his injury did not include tears of ligaments otherwise he would have had surgery but who knows how bad it was.
You’re right, he only completed over 72% of his passes his last year at Michigan. Absolute trash. Pretty sure he was only the most accurate passer on 3rd and longs that year too, just a garbage player. Cutting him isn’t enough. They should probably bury him in a swamp somewhere.
Laughing… in college, receivers are open by yards. At Michigan, they ran the ball much more than threw it. They threw the ball when they wanted, against bad defenses. Yeah… lots of college guys put up stats… in college. Wanna know who was one of the most prolific passing QB’s in college ever was? Case Keenum. Look up his stats. Also look up McCarthy’s stats against the Huskies in the National Championship game. He threw 18 whole passes, and completed 10 of them. That’s 55.5%. Threw for 140 yards, zero TD’s.
McCarthy is not a great passing QB as we’ve witnessed in the NFL.
You’re right, you know more than an actual NFL QB. I should have known better than to question your prowess. When was it again you played in the NFL?
When did you? Laughing. Plenty of QB’s like Kurt Warner who actually won a Super Bowl unlike Tommy Kramer, have said McCarthy is not a natural passer. I watch his play and I don’t see what I see in other NFL QB’s. Like I said. I see Heinicke, not Montana.
Does one have to actually play in the NFL to opine around here on the prospective talent of a player?
No, but you don’t get to say that guys who actually played the position are dumb.
You do when you are THE ALMIGHTY AND ALL KNOWING SEAN CON- *I mean* KIRK COUSINS RELATIV- *whoop, I mean* TRUMP#1 Donatio- Whoops, NLNVF!
Take a valium… and stay on the porch son.
That’s good advice
And the pot calls the kettle black!
Oh, I must have missed that. I thought he said Kramer was a “homer” and entitled to his opinion.
I believe Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and even Caleb Williams would disagree with your take.
He knows more than everybody and has deemed JJ unworthy. Nobody else should question his opinion. That idiot Brady even had the gall to say that JJ was the best Michigan QB of all time, such a moron.
Harbaugh said JJ was the best QB in the draft, but he’s obviously stupid too and knows nothing about NFL football.
I state reality Bow… you just can’t handle it.
You’re referring to three excessively unique talents. Lamar has had one season in eight years where he threw for over 4,000 yards. One. He throws the ball decently too. He just was always a better runner, and liked being a playmaker. Caleb has a career completion rate of 60%. He has a very good arm, but he has to learn how to play QB in the NFL. Finally, Josh Allen is still not a great passer. He’s a better runner. Most of his game changing plays have been made with his legs. He didn’t throw for over 4,000 yards, and only had 25 passing TD’s this year. No one considers Allen to be a great passing QB.
No, I am referring to 3 guys that struggled mightily, when they came into the league, to throw accurately.
Caleb Williams completed 58% of his passes this year, so you are already wrong, and neither of the other two are considered accurate passers.
Those three players did not miss 25 games combined their first two years in the NFL, JJ has however. I don’t even like Williams, but Allen and Jackson have consistently gotten better by…. playing.
In the end, any really good prospect should improve every year. 6 or 7 years in, they should be “developed”. McCarthy is probably 5 years away from being whatever he’ll be. In the meantime, the whole rest of the team has to wait while he “learns”.
I see this as wrong headed. Get a guy who can competently execute the offense, while the young guy learns how to play QB in the NFL. The Packers have had three QB1’s since 1992. The Vikings have had like 17 or something.
Indeed, I do agree with Kurt Warner.
So do they get better or not, you have contrasting comments here.
Anything to dance around being wrong or admitting fault…literally anything.
As usual you don’t know what you’re talking about… stay on the porch son.
They do not get better in general. You can either throw a ball very, very accurately, especially under duress, or you can’t. It’s evident early on. You can practice throws and get better at them, but natural accuracy is inherent. I used the free throw analogy to illustrate this trait. When I was growing up, I played basketball with a kid at 11 years old who could shoot free throws like nobody’s business. Could sink dozens and dozens in a row. At 11 years old. In my life I could never do that.
NFL QB’s are really good at throwing a football. All of them are. The difference between really accurate, and really good, isn’t measured in feet. It’s measured in inches.
My original comment was those three and there are others, struggled their first few years with accuracy. Now they are pretty accurate. So it shows that accuracy can be learned, unlike what was suggested above.
Caleb Williams is not yet accurate. He completed 58% of his passes this year. That and getting from bad, to average is about what you can best expect. Most guys never really get much better. Accuracy is something you have, or you don’t as I said. Once at the NFL level, where you’re facing the best athletes and players in the world, you’re not getting away with an inaccurate arm.
I agree, but you have to be available physically to improve
He’s got a little TK in him, sometimes plays like shit for 90% of a game but leads a drive to take the lead late like old two minute Tommy. I don’t think anyone should give up on him but the Vikings need a better backup plan than Wentz and brosmer because thus far in his career he has not proven he can’t stay healthy.
Was he sober when he said it?
Just sayin…….
Have to agree with this…
A discussion dump courtesy of Not the Bee:
Quite the post you got there mister.
‘Some people just want to see the world burn’?
I tried to post once with lots from links in it. It had to approved by an admin before it could be allowed on the thread. Did you have to wait long for an approval for yours??
I don’t think so. I’m a pretty important person tho.
That is true, you have way more cred here here than I do.
Building some street cred this morning, hell yeah.
Since Kwesi got hired by the niners, will we get a couple of comp picks next year?
LOL….
That would be hilarious. And then said picks become better than any of the ones he made.
No, that’s only for GM or HC
Well, that makes total sense – he is likely the 4th best player in history.
Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins career earnings shock NFL fans
Should shock no one if they’ve been paying attention since the end of 2019
Edit: If reading that article doesn’t make you annoyed as a Vikings fan then I guess there is no hope for you. Team got grifted HARD.
What’s even worse, are the fans that believe him when he speaks lies like…
“It’s not about the money, but what the money represents”
Dude is a shrewd business man, but he is a used car salesman.
Hopefully KOC doesn’t get snookered by his “what a good guy” schtick.
I’m good with $15 to $20 million.
He is a decent QB.
Whatever vet minimum is, is what he deserves. And he has to be okay being benched/back up. Yeah, he’s a superficial robot, walking politician of a human being. Giving lip service that satisfies most people with out critical thought. I hope he goes to TV and I never have to see him in a Vikings uniform again.
All apt descriptions of him.
I think he his a good guy, but just uses that to get more money.
His next hustle is television.
I think he’s superficially nice. All surface level. Not saying he’s a bad guy but he never shows or speaks how he truly feels and when I see that in people, in person or otherwise, I can’t trust them fully. Telling me what I (or other fans) want to hear only goes so far and loses value very quickly when its not backed up by actions.
I agree.
Well stated.
He falls into the “too good to be true” vibe.
A guy brought his golf buddy home, unannounced, for dinner at 6:30 after enjoying a day of golf.
His wife screamed her head off while his friend sat at the kitchen table, open mouthed, listening to the tirade.
“My hair and makeup are not done, the house is a fucking mess and the dishes are still in the sink. I’m completely exhausted!
I didn’t get enough sleep last night. Can’t you see I’m still in my fucking pajamas? I can’t be bothered with cooking tonight! Why the fuck did you bring him home without letting me know ahead of time, you jackass?”
Her husband replied, “Because he’s thinking of getting married.”
Here are roster cuts and contract restructures I would do to get under the cap.
Cut
Allen – Cap Savings: $11.2 million
Hargrave – Savings: $11.0 million
Kelly – Cap Savings: $ 8.3 million
Jones – Cap Savings: $ 7.8 million
Brandel – CapSavings: $ 3.8 million
Total Cap Savings: $42.1 million.
This makes the team cap compliant.
Moves/Restructures that have to made for further cap space:
I would say that if they aren’t willing to restructure, they should be off the roster.
Greenard – $18.9 million
Hock – $16.0 million
Gink – $10.8 million
Cashman – $ 7.6 million
And a Jefferson restructure might be in the cards as well.
4 or 5 roster moves clears up the 2026 cap.
I would not cut Brandel, as he is probably the best back up linemen in the league. He has been competent at every position.
I agree.
Hock should be more on the chopping block than Brandel imo.
Yep
Agreed
We are going to have to find around 25 to 30 million more to bring Cousins back.
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
$15 to $20 million.
But Yep.
The Hockenson trade a while back made sense at the time. But now after the acl/mcl injury he has been a shell of his former self. Josh Oliver on the other hand has been phenomenal. I do not think we miss much by cutting Hockenson.
Same for me.
I should have put Hock up on the chopping block.
I was trying to be realistic.
Do you think KOC would move off of Hock?
I should’ve prefaced the above comment with Hockenson may be suffering from inept qb play. So who knows what his future holds. Kevin could look to restructure his deal or cut him. I lean more on the cutting side but I could see KOC trying to keep him for 2026.
That’s my take.
KOC wants him, so restructure is likely the realistic scenario.
Allen being cut only results in 5 mil cap savings and 17 mil in dead cap, they could designate post June release and spread the cap hit out and have around 11 mil in savings this upcoming season
VG cut would result in a 17 mil dead cap hit and save all of around three million in cap savings, could also designate post June and save more
Cashman is about the least of the problems, especially when you look at the stats when he’s on vs off the field
the rest can stay or go, don’t care
O’Neill is probably the best candidate for restructure, they can save 20 mil in cap space by releasing him or 10 mil with an easy restructure
Restructure or extension for O’Neill? He is in the last year of the 5 year deal he signed in 2021. He’s an unrestricted free agent in 2027. His cap hit this year is $23M. I’d think they could trade him, dump his salary and get some draft picks, or extend him and move some of the costs down the road a bit. Keep in mind O’Neill is under no obligation to to sign an extension, and he would be smarter to sign a three year deal with someone.
I would sign O’Neill to a three year deal on day one of the new league year.
I would look first to extend him, if not, restructure, I would not cut him
All of my cap savings suggestions are based on a post June release date.
I would try and keep Gink and Cashman on restructures.
Greenard would be my first cut if he doesn’t restructure.
So kicking the can two years down the road lol
