Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
To get so close to 100 posts/comments and to leave it there just seems so wrong.
Someone should do something about it.

Flippin’ love watching the Wild this year
Bring on Colorado!
Congrats Wild People.
That was a fine series, must be very satisfying to eliminate the Stars. On to Colorado.
Lasagna was/is pretty good.
Big enough that it will take 3 days to finish it.
I always make two, one to eat now, one to freeze
Might have to consider that now that we have a freezer in the garage.
Amtrak Informs Small Town Girl Living In A Lonely World That They Don’t Actually Have A Midnight Train Going Anywhere

Was she on a Journey?
Meatloaf sucks. PSA for today.
The singer or the food?
I agree with you about the singer. Although I don’t have any direct knowledge if he spends anytime in Christy’s cornfield.
Sorry, but Bat Out of Hell is one of my top 5 albums…..
‘Sorry’
You don’t have to apologize for you taste in music. I have no doubt that mine sucks as well. Well at least to the majority (aka vocal minority) of the posters here.
Neither, because both are great.
Agreed on all accounts
Obviously you, or your wife, is not making it correctly.
I was disappointed how bad the meatloaf was at Cracker Barrel. mine is better.
Prechewed meat with ketchup in the shape of a loaf is nasty no matter how you spin it or who makes it.

Looks tasty, needs bacon though
That one would taste good but the texture would still throw me off.
Take out Dallas tonight please…
Yes please. I’ve really enjoyed this series thus far. What do you think about the Wall over Gus?
Also, with today’s injury report doubt Twolves can close.
Gotta stick with the hot goalie.
It’s Wall or bust imo.
I agree on the Wolves.
Without Ant, Wolves will struggle.
Is ANT supposed to back to full strength if the Wolves happen to win the series?
Not until mid way through next series, probably not 100%
Dallas can’t score unless they are on the power play.
MN has done an excellent job of stopping them this series.
Hopefully they have one more game in them.
I like the Wall. Been playing great.
Wild need to cut down on the penalties and seal the deal tonight. I don’t think Dallas will go down easily.
We need our 3rd line to start producing (Yurov, Senko, Trenin)
I can envision another OT game tonight.
For sure.

I’d rather see him reading the playbook
How about both?
He would be doing something like this……
Man this is going to be a hilarious season.
You know it !!
Man how can people stand that “music” I know I sound like old person yelling at clouds but there is literally nothing musical or engaging about any of it.
See ya….
He has a minimum salary that his hair demands that he gets.
Minn can’t/won’t pay that salary so something has to change first.
Maybe a haircut???
“Minnesota seems interested in a one-year deal, and his skills as a blocker and pass-catcher are seen as a strong fit.” That’s exactly the way the 49ers looked at him. One year deal for a guy who is a good fit. He wants a 3 year deal.
I think it is more a money issue but the issues are not mutually exclusive.
He would take a one year deal if it paid him enough. Additionally he is about to be 29 in July so if he takes a one year deal he would be back on the market at 30. He is less likely to get a multiple year deal as a 30 year old.
Yep.
He’s likely going to a badder team who is desperate and will pay for that desperation.
He got a daughter named scout?
Nice “To Kill a Mockingbird” reference… Atticus Finch.
Maybe he’s got a neighbor named Boo as well
Maybe
Is his nickname Automatticus?
Laughing
I see the Twins are back to being the Twins, justifying my never watching them.
We knew it was ‘Fools Gold’ but we could still enjoy it while it lasted.
They are ass and will continue to be so until the Pohlads are no longer owners.
Stinks that they just went another generation with that.
They were entertaining for about 10 days.

UDFAs that have a decent chance to make the final 53 man roster.

I saw Steve Smith really talking up Dillon Bell, from Vikingsterrirtory:
A couple thoughts on this
first guy listed is named Scooby, so better have some snacks available, but also they say he has “good size” at 6’2 230 but that’s average, which is fine but he’s not going to displace Ivan pace, pace has a lot of starting experience and is one of the few special teams players who are actually good in coverage, most likely if this Scooby is to make the Vikings it’ll be as practice squad player but he may usurp pace next year when his contract expires
I like the knotts kid, doubt he makes the roster over price though unless he can return punts, might make it over the other scrubs though
The punter may very well make the team, hekker is old and ranked toward the bottom of the league in punt length and net.
The cb is most likely practice squad bound, Rodgers Murphy and either Pierre or Thomas are the likely starters, mcglothern probably makes the team as a backup/ST player, doubt he makes it as the 5th cb as the Vikings drafted demmings in the 5th
What the author fails to realize is that there will be a bunch of veteran FAs that will be available after final cuts so it’s not just as simple as beating out who is on the roster now
Just a reminder…
OTAs: May 26-27, May 29, June 1-2, June 4, June 15-18
Mandatory minicamp: June 9-11
Thinking maybe you should invite some of these Yankees down for dinner so they can gain a better appreciation for red beans and rice with sausage.
I could go for red beans and rice with andouille for lunch today, might have to find a place with it on the menu
Man, that was good yesterday JR. My wife makes it all from scratch. She has a number of recipes she collected from New Orleans. She is pretty amazing really. Andouille sausage in the red beans and rice, homemade biscuits, and of course, sweet tea. I stuffed myself but good.
Love it! Yum.
My wife calls it “man food”. She gets it.
We call it ‘Guy Food’ around here.
I am building a Lasagna today for dinner.
On the list of ‘Ultimate Guy Foods’.
Oh yeah. Lasagna is way up there! I know it takes a lot of work when my wife makes it. Layering everything, getting the noodles and the cheeses put together etc. Great that you can do all that.
I have learned to make what I like to eat.
Lasagna is up there near the top of the ‘rotation’ along with Enchiladas and Meatloaf.
Meatloaf is definitely a favorite. My wife also makes a mean Shephard’s pie.
I need to check for a good ‘Idiot Proof’ Shepherd Pie recipe.
I have a good ‘Farmhouse Pie’ recipe that I like although it is a lot of work.
Wow… never heard of this. Looks fantastic.
It is tasty.
Looks like gas to me.
Would still do
Tomorrow, the first steps in acclimating rookies, whether draft picks, or undrafted free agents, to life in the NFL begin. They’ll get playbooks, take part in non-contact on-field walkthroughs, and learn what to expect from their franchises and life in the NFL. May 1-4 and 8-11 the NFL rookie mini camps get underway. The rookies will get a lot of information, and likely plenty of advice on the perils of being a professional athlete. They’ll be warned about all the things laying in wait to trip them up, and take them down. They will get the official NFL personal conduct briefing. They’ll hear testimony from current and former players about the kinds of situations they need to be wary of.
A lot of the rookies won’t take any of it to heart, unfortunately.
I’m sure Cris Carter will stop by to impart his knowledge

I fantasize that it is kinda like a Hell Night induction ceremony as highlighted by Pat Conroy in Lords of Discipline, a thinly veiled depiction of the first year of college of “knobs” at The Citadel (at least in 1965).
I think surly will appreciate this
Eff Norm Green!
That kid is a a real life version of boss baby
If they win, I believe the new Minnesota team squares off against the old Quebec City team…does not typically go well for the new Minnesotas.
Typically not, but I was at the game the last time the Wild beat Colorado in the playoffs, at the Pepsi center in CO, an overtime time stunner, crowd was dead silent but I was screaming my head off. It’s hard to believe that was McKinnon’s rookie year, seems so long ago.
Fuck Norm Green autorec!
David Allen Coe dead at 86
RIP
*allan, apparently you never even called him by his name, lol
You’re welcome for the setup
Ever heard Rebel Meets Rebel? The Abbott brothers from PanterA and DAC?
Too bad he never wrote the perfect country song.
I heard him Mom got ran over by a dang old train….
And if that ain’t country you can kiss my a$$
