Man, this is gonna be a long off-season. It sucks when there’s football being played and the Vikings are not playing, it sucks even worse when there’s no football being played and we’re forced to read click-bait rumormill garbage. At least there’s ice fishing to help a guy maintain what’s left of his sanity.

Vikings assistants are making the most of their time at the Senior Bowl, per Vikings.com.
Yahoo Sports reported that Paul Allen is back at work behind the mic. He shouldn’t have had to be away from work, I thought the comment was humorous.
Sports Illustrated looks at 10 Senior Bowl standouts who could be Vikings draft targets. They also provide details on the contract that kept Brian Flores in Minnesota.
There will be NFL football near Paris this fall for the first time ever. The Saints will play someone (not sure who yet) at Stade de France, the national stadium just north of Paris.
The Titans are hiring 49ers assistant Gus Bradley to be their new defensive coordinator, per NFL.com.

I don’t necessarily agree, he spent his whole (long) career here and by all accounts did very well what he was asked to do. As a fullback he’s not going to get a lot of press, so if that is your criteria then maybe not.

Yeah, Arch manning, Peyton and Eli’s nephew, probably the #1 overall pick next year. I suggest the Vikings go ahead and draft people that don’t suck.

Haha that’s true. One of the techs was in LV around Thanksgiving and he and his crew invited she and her friends over to their table, she even had photographic evidence. She knows I am a football fan of a shite organization and asked if I knew who he was (she did not prior to meeting him). Apparently he is still rather high on himself, they invited the ladies to an off strip party which probably would have involved roofies and blow.
Since she was telling the story to coworker I assume she declined the invite.

i hope KAM was the reason we didn’t re-sign Darnold, and so the proper person was fired over that huge miscalculation…
i’m definitely rooting for darnold and the seahawks, there is no one on that team that annoys me so it’s easy to root for…plus i’d love to watch the vikings sweat out question after question of why they didn’t find it necessary to re-sign a SUPER BOWL WINNING QB to their roster, on a cheap deal in comparison to other terrible qb’s making WAY more then darnold.

Although I don’t miss the days of doing hair prep, pulling off a surgical cap and having the top of my head look like someone did a rough swipe with a putty knife of petroleum jelly, etc…I do remember the sad days when I would get done showering and see my hair in the drain screen.

I did my first karaoke (Summer of ’69) at the hospital Christmas party on Friday. Oh man I sounded bad (video has circulated) but got a lot of encouragement from the crowd. At least my inaugural performance was so bad that many other staff were brave enough to go up there after me.

I’m trying to decide if I am going to watch the SB. Might skip it after listening to the Puerto Rican performer making comments about ICE during his Grammy speech. NFL is getting harder and harder to watch and if it’s not the Vikings the only game I usually watch is the SB. They might have to survive without my viewership this year.

Guy that keeps the sidewalks clear, maintains the grass, etc here at the hospital is a big Seahawks fan. He really likes to talk about football and I am his willing muse. Stopped me yesterday, asking who I thought would win (Seahawks in a laugher), he told me he is nervous about NE running game, is their D legit, how about Maye? Just made me realize how pathetic our organization is, here is a guy whose team won in 2013, two additional appearances since then, worried about his team’s chances, and I cheer for a team that has not been to the SB in five decades and hasn’t even been competitive in the NFCCG for 15+ years.

Things were different back then, Bud didn’t know the Super Bowl would be the standard you were judged by, he wanted to win the regular season. The superb owl was just a game between the AFL and NFL, almost like an exhibition game.

By the last game vs the Raiders, he was in “try hard” mode and had a new offense installed in two weeks. Epic fail.
In that first Viking SB they had just won the NFL Championship and considered that game an exhibition. They got drunk the night before and then fumbled the opening kickoff and it went downhill from there.
In hindsight they would have done it differently and probably won. Heck they scored the highest number of points in the NFL that year and had allowed the least number of points.
I live in Wisconsin, and I was just having some good Vikings-Packers banter at work with Packer fans.
I heard some of the same lines you always hear, like “Wherever you go in the country, there you will find Packer fans.” To which I always reply “Just because people don’t like living in Wisconsin doesn’t mean the Packers have the most fans.”
But I did say, “I do have to give the Packers credit for having one of the greatest rackets of all time. To receive money from donors and tell them that they are owners, yet they see no dividend checks and make no organizational decisions…” I cleared the room with that one, with angry people walking out mid-sentence. I didn’t even get to finish my thought.

Rooting for either team this Sunday. Either Sam wins a bowl to add to Vikings misery, or Drake Maye wins to add to Vikings misery (KOC wanted Maye, Kwesi would not give up enough draft capital to get him. That is silly, since draft picks were mostly useless for Kwesi).
Should have traded everything away for proven players or can’t-miss prospects (Maye).
Maye was far from can’t miss and saying Kwesi wouldn’t give up enough assumes the Patriots would have traded the pick at all.
Would have taken a ridiculously insane offer, the Pats really wanted Maye.
This is my thought for Dante Moore in 2027 draft. I would happily cheer the Vikings to an NFL record 0-17 record if we could get that first pick, otherwise I would trade absolutely anything to get him.

The Wild won again, with another 3-assist game from Hughes. Been an incredible pickup. Second-best record in the league right now, and only a few wins behind faltering Colorado. Fun stuff.
Should be an interesting offseason in Vikingland. With KOC having more roster control, it will be very interesting to see what he does at QB.
I may have to start watching Hockey. Have not since
I need to find another sport to have on in the background so I can read a book. My reading volume goes down in the football offseason. Basketball kind of annoys me, so maybe I need to try hockey.
Been thinking about that, too. I’ve never gotten into hockey, it’s one of the only sports that hasn’t been consumed by politics.
And the NHL players are far more strong-willed to stand up to the woke stuff from even their own organizations.
I was a big NHL fan as a kid. Used to lay in bed (in Rochester) and i could get Blackhawks and Blues games, as well as North Stars on my transistor radio. I quit following when our team left fot Dallas. I am starting to follow the Wild a bit now
