Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Well, you can tell that there isn’t much in the way of football news out there, because there are numerous stories saying that Aaron Rodgers will eventually sign with the Steelers. It must be a go-to story line any time a journalist can’t come up with something to write about.
Vikings News
The Vikings and the Patriots will hold joint practices this pre-season, per the Pats Pulpit. This doesn’t mean that they’re going to practice smoking joints, it means that they’re going to practice together.
Only one Vikings player made it on PFF’s all-century team, according to SI.com. You will likely not guess who it is without cheating.
NFL News
From Athlon Sports, Patrick Peterson warns young cornerbacks against trying to emulate Deion Sanders’ coverage technique. Deion could do it that way because he’s Deion.
CBS Sports with an obligatory story tying Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers…….some day.

The 49ers continue to spend money like drunken sailors. They signed LB Fred Warner to a 3-year $63 million contract extension, per NFL.com. The deal makes Warner the league’s highest paid LB, this just days after the 49ers gave Brock Purdy a massive extension, and they also signed TE George Kittle to a huge extension.

Not much football talk out there, here’s a preview of the upcoming Timberwolves-Thunder Conference Championship series.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
I wonder if Wrenage is still in that meeting.
Hasn’t the poor guy been thru enough?
‘Oh the Humanity!’
Kay loves her some JJ.
I love me some Kay
HAWT
She is a cutie, no doubt.
But it wasn’t much of a ‘story’ just Cam saying he likes him and he works hard.
Norm from Cheers gone. R.I.P
“It’s a dog eat dog world, Sammy, and i’m wearing Milkbone underwear”.
Sad. He was a very funny man. Or at least, the writing was very good.
That’s too bad. I’m in the middle of re-watching Cheers. I forgot how funny it is.
Heard on radio, 76, i think.
Pups@Thunder. Pups well rested. They need to get home court back, if not i think they are toast.
Wet and windy in Minny, maybe Twinks find a way to finish game one. 90 degrees for 3 days now it’s 42. UGH….
Tough series for the Wolves.
I’m not optimistic.
At least it starts at 8:30 pm eastern.
Might get to watch the first half.
If i was a betting man i’d go Thunder. Life long Minny fan does that to you.
Wow 42. Just did my goodie hubbie thing and went for a five mile walk with my wife at Epcot. It’s 93 in the yard and much hotter on the asphalt at the park. Oh well, in a month this will seem like a cool day.
I blame Canada.
My default is to blame the democrats for everything.
That works too.
i was just thinking about wrenage and how he is still in a meeting and i haven’t had to be in one this entire day….
Wrenage…
Trying to remember the last I ha a meeting to attend.
I guess if you count ‘meeting’ the tax preparer then would have been March.
Was it an actual man or a man dressed/pretending to be a woman?
I don’t know.
Just thought it was a good meeting gif.
Wrenage is the last dude with his arms folded.
NFL owners meeting in Minneapolis. FTP reintroduced a proposal to ban the “tush push”.
What say you all?
Leave my Tush alone.
You can look but don’t touch.
#grin
I say leave it as is.
But eventually tackle football will be replaced by flag football.
Just get it over with already and execute the plan.
They are actually going back to the”old” rule where an offensive player cannot push or pull a runner forward anywhere on the field
Kind of vague.
Lots of times there is a group trying to bring down a runner or blocking for that runner. Where does Blocking end and Pushing the pile forward begin??
Are you ‘assisting’ with the blocking or pushing the runner forward?
If the pusher is in direct contact with the ball carrier, is where the line should be drawn.
Pretty hard to tell in real time in the middle of the scrum.
Seemed like for over 40 years of football this was not a problem to officiate. It’s really. not rugby and there shouldn’t be a scrum.
Agreed, this wont be that big of a deal.
That’s the point.
Gotta give the refs/Goodell the ability to control the outcome.
Remember this gem from Frank Biden after Joe
droppedwas forced out? They spent more in time covering up all of FJBs issues than they did running the country.
Correct. That was a lot of work I’m sure.
This made me chuckle.
Woke Logic does not equal Logic.
It is not about the Vikings but it at least it is Minn sports related.

Mental Illness is not just a USA problem.
All the trans people in this country that are so anti Jewish should go spend a little time in the middle east.
They could try flying off buildings there.
They offer that to gay/trans in the Middle East.
I hear the have rock catching competitions too where you are only allowed to use your face to catch as many as possible.
They have some interesting pastimes in other parts of the world. Even in ‘normal-ish’ type places like Europe.
The problem is, there is no more Barnum and Baileys circus to accept applications from these
freaksmis-understood people.Fat Jesus in a dress??????
Time for Meeting Jail. To all people not in a meeting right now…
i have ZERO meetings today. so….
I’m just dealing with stupid people. The caliber of people that are allowed to drive 80,000 lb bullets down the highways is astonishing.
Pretty big windstorm went through last night. Some big tree limbs got knocked down. I will get to do some chain-sawing!
Alas, I have to sit in on a six-hour meeting today, which will delay said chain-sawing.
I can’t imagine any subject needing six-hours. Even quantum physics should be able to get to the point in an hour.
I have not had to sit through a 6 hour meeting, but I did have a 5 hour interview once, for a job that I already knew I was getting.
Went to the County Fair here last year and they had a guy juggling chainsaws. Lots of warnings ‘not to try this at home’ before he started. He got 3-4 small ones going at a time as I recall.
Not something seen in SoCal but might be considered normal in more common sense parts of the country.
Always nice to have a reason to break out the chainsaw.
I would like to apologize for my bad grammar yesterday. I re-read it and was going to correct it, but someone already commented so I couldn’t.
Bad grammer?
I thought maybe you just felt like being an immigrant yesterday.
That someone was me. For $1000 Skolo bucks, I will look the other way while you sneak out of jail.
I wouldn’t say that my grammar is always the best, but the seen, saw thing pops out to me so when that happens I must be mean and ridicule said person who seen saw.
‘I will look the other way while you sneak out of jail’
Where do you think this is New Orleans??
Well when you have a DEI hirer as your jailor.
We had DEI hires at the prison, it was in SoCal after all.
We had a prisoner or two manage to sneak away when they were off grounds on a work crew or some such.
They didn’t manage to stay away for very long.
True story,
We had inmate firefighters, one was giving CPR in the ambulance and no one ‘relieved’ him when it left for the hospital. Once he got there he asked about getting a ride back to the prison. They tried to charge him with escape cause they would be in trouble that they didn’t stop him. Happy to see that fail.
The more you read, the more you realize just how far this DEI stuff has gotten – pilots, doctors etc. I would have been fine if they just left it to lawyers and politicians, couldn’t do any worse anyway.
Would be happy to see a DEI hire on the ‘other side’ in a court room.
Except in Commifornia of course, they would have found for his team just to Virtue Signal if that were the case.
Thank you for pointing out my flaws, without good direction I would have continued to misuse seen/saw. However, I may start using seen/saw as my pronouns.
It is my duty and privilege. I’m glad I can direct your life to wholeness.
I would have spent more time in jail/prison then I did working there if I got put in every time I misspelled or used un-good grammar.
You can tell I don’t follow baseball much these days.
Never heard of a “suspended” game in baseball.
It used to be rained out before 4.5 innings, or an official game after 5 innings.
If the game is started it gets suspended, the Twins were up 2-1 in the 3rd or 4th inning when the skies let loose.
When did that change?
I remember when MLB games were either cancelled and replayed or official after 5 full innings.
I remember games being suspended when it was past the ‘5 full innings’ but tied when the rain forced a stop. But before then I remember cancellations like you do.
After 3 per the boxscore, each pitcher had 3 innings in.
Suppose the top of the 4th could have started but no outs recorded.
