Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Good for Sam Darnold making it to the Suberb Owl, he’s a good dude who endured two garbage franchises before coming here and resurrecting his career. Best of luck to him, but I still want NE to win because Mike Vrabel said previously he’d cut his d!ick off if he coached his team to a SB win and I want to hear what he says if that happens.

Sean Payton said the team’s offense “didn’t do enough” to earn a Super Bowl trip after the game Sunday. Today he fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi.
Well, their backup sucks so what did he expect?
Yeah, and he made the decision to go for it on 4th and 1 instead of kicking a chip shot field goal.
ButtHoleFace made the call to go for it but the OC didn’t pull a successful play out of his ass so he had to go?
Looks like.
I think AnusFace is Offensive enough for the whole state of Colorado and add in New Orleans as well.
How is this possible
Seriously? He should have been a lock. What more do you want on your Hall of Fame resume as a coach?
The stench of his year at North Carolina and that
gold digger‘blood sucker’ he has hanging off of him??Most likely the media who votes decided he didn’t deserve first ballot because he didn’t play nice with them
He didn’t ‘respect’ those asshats enough so this is their payback??
Sounds about right.
He he he…
Are you (this post) suggesting the Bills trade for Jefferson?
Honestly, I think with his cap hit, KAM would listen to trade offers right now.
DO ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Rumors out there that Maye hurt his shoulder Sunday.
Throwing shoulder?
Yep
They will probably run him out there with painkillers. Two weeks might be enough that his throwing motion would not be too far off.
Hopefully we don’t see a Carson Wentz repeat. Thinking if it a serious injury they wouldn’t put him out there.
Maye appeared to injure his throwing shoulder after landing awkwardly on a third-quarter run, fueling post-game speculation about his availability for Super Bowl LX, though medical analysis suggests it’s likely a minor AC joint sprain rather than a severe tear.
Maye and coach Mike Vrabel both downplayed the issue today, confirming full participation in practice.
Studies on quarterback durability show 70% of similar shoulder tweaks resolve within a week without long-term impact (per NFL injury data from the American Journal of Sports Medicine).
As mentioned below, the NFL has a bad case of Wokeness that is starting to chase fans away.
The NBA is much much much worse.
I guess the only sports we can really watch without having our sensibilities insulted are baseball and hockey….maybe golf.
Oh no, Baseball has it too. As long as a park or team has a “Pride Night/Day” game or has their mascot waving the pride flag, they are still doing the woke lip service. Looking at you Twins.
Every sport has it. I think the WNBA was the first to fully embrace the wokeness, but then again, since most fans of the WNBA have an identity in the LBGTQUAFJOWNPEGN realm, that is not a surprise to me at all.
This seems like a decent rundown on the Vikings depth/weaknesses on the roster.
Of course some of that will be addressed in FA before we get to the draft.
I hope we can continue our success when signing UDFAs.
https://thevikingage.com/minnesota-vikings-depth-chart-glaring-hole-could-doom-2026
I thought Rodgers came on strong about mid way through the season. Murphy, I feel we should have let him go and kept Bynum.
After those two we have pretty much bubkis at CB. We might pick up some depth in FA but a solid draft choice would be important as well.
Idk what that article says, but they need a QB, C, CB and depth at a few other spots. I’m not super confident in the gm so hopefully it’s more of the coaching staff identifying talent
Those are also mentioned in the article as well as a run stopping DT, TE and a young OT to develop.
Also, oline coach is a pretty glaring hole
And ST coach as well, IMHO.
Yeah, well they need to fire Matt Daniels first
The T’wolves postponed their Saturday game, due to the protestor getting shot and killed by ICE. I wonder if they will be postponing any games, going forward because someone was shot and killed by a gang member in the cities? If so, it may be a long season.
Virtue Signalling will lead to more tickets sales in Somaliopolus eventually.
Seriously – the selective outrage is sickening. All the woke BS makes me want to move out of the cities more and more every day.
If you really want your eyes to roll out of your head, go on over to the Wolve and Vikings subreddit and see the state of it over the last weekend. I had to unfollow it because my feed was nothing but forced propaganda.
95% of Reddit is liberal trash. Have you ever seen the Minnesota subreddit? The mods are worse than DailyNorseman by a long ways. They allow all hate and vitriol from the left, but you make any conservative talking points or argue facts and you’re banned.
95% of skoloholics right wing trash, so there’s that
So… this is something that would concern me. I can’t see this happening in the good old days, like when Steve Young was battling Montana to be the starter for the Niners.
Speculation at most.
Supposedly KC had to have his designated ‘clipboard holder’ there for him as well.
Not sure I buy any of the BS.
Agreed
Mannion was very intelligent and Cousins liked discussing the offense with him.
According to this, the team was afraid McCarthy’s psyche could be affected by keeping Darnold.
Apples and oranges…
‘According to this’ it is all smoke and mirrors guessing what people were thinking and speculating on why they might be doing things.
Not worth the pixels they wasted on the topic.
The person who reported this isn’t a guy who posts unfounded conjecture though. His takes are pretty much realistic.
He wasn’t ‘reporting’ anything, just making up stuff for clickbait.
Just as realistic as all the Woke/Fake News experts who read DJTs mind and decide what he is thinking and what he is going to do.
He works for PFF, zero credibility, they are clickbait and terrible grading. Owned by Chris collinsworth, who uses every opportunity as an announcer to refer to them.
Yeah, whatever. Clickbait drama fake news.
No different than Cousins wanting Mannion as his backup.
But I agree.
Teams should get the most capable backup available.
OK… let’s see how you plan to be better than Sean McDermott…
I figured this was their plan. But, I don’t see it making them better.
I have a BAD case of the Monday blahs on a Tuesday.
I think I am going to go home and take a nap…
My daughter who lives in South Carolina currently said this morning that it was 21 degrees there with a wind chill of 15. She said it was starting to remind her of North Dakota (Minot and Bismarck).
Made me wonder how cold it would have to be in order for a ‘normal NoDak’ to feel unconformable. My Son, currently in Bismarck, says ‘you get used to it’.
I think around 20 below air temp is when many of us start to feel uncomfortable….
but I will say Sunday morning it was 20 something below air temp and -46 windchill and the wife and I still bundled up to shovel the little bit of snow that was covering the driveway……Lord forbid you drive over snow in your driveway…
I shovel mostly because I worry about it becoming ice and someone/delivery person slipping and falling.
HOA requires snow removal as well but the timeframe that they require is usually more than it takes for the snow to melt around here.
The folks who are opposing law enforcement across the country think they are expressing their Constitutional right to protest. In fact, the Bill of Rights provides the right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress against grievances. These are two separate rights, that most often are somehow combined to create the “freedom of expression” right that does not actually exist.
One of the risks of representative democracy is that elected officials may favor the narrow partisan interests of their most powerful supporters, or choose to advance their own personal interests instead of viewing themselves as faithful agents of their constituents. A robust right to petition is designed to minimize such risks. By being forced to acknowledge and respond to petitions from ordinary persons, officials become better informed and must openly defend their positions, enabling voters to pass a more informed judgment.
So you have the right to peaceably assemble, and you have a separate right to petition the Government under the Constitution. They are two distinct, and different rights.
And of course no one ever has the right to violently obstruct law enforcement, destroy property, or riot to get their way.
Here’s a good watch for ya if you need something to listen to for an hour or two.
Personally I won’t be watching the Super Bowl this year. I just can’t support the NFL right now. It’s way over the top anti everything I stand for.
so what happens when next year, nothing has changed. will you not watch vikings games??
Potentially. I’m fed up with the NFL’s woke bullshit and frankly they are not aligned with my values in any way, shape, or form.
That’s just because you’re a bigoted, racist, white man.
You forgot heterosexual.
Definitely
Allegedly??
Allegedly…grin.
That, and you have the rampant cheating/rigging games. That’s a big deal for me. I’ll track the team loosely, but won’t watch for that reason primarily.
I have backed off of my NFL fandom as well.
I will still follow the Vikings and watch on free TV but won’t pay out any more for NFL products.
I will watch the game, but I am watching the puppy bowl at halftime vs the show the NFL decided upon
Been thinking this myself.
Your feelings are commendable.
After that Bud Lite commercial, I stopped drinking Budweiser Beer which I had consumed with great gusto for 50 years. And still haven’t had one.
Football is tougher as there aren’t “substitute beers.”
Have to give this some thought – maybe just watch old Clint Eastwood movies.
I’ll be on the golf course weather permitting on that day. Of course the game won’t start till the evening so I’ll be done, but old John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movies sounds like a plan.
idk, i think once someone draws the line on this kind of stuff…
in order to not look like a hypocrite they better draw the line on other places they shop, get gas, visit, etc etc because almost ALL those types of places hold to standards/support or align their values to all the wrong things…
so where do you start/stop drawing the lines
Ummm you have to shop, get gas, etc. You don’t have to watch the NFL.
well, i hope where you shop, get gas etc certainly don’t hold to the same values as the ones you are not watching the nfl for…..because then…what’s the difference?
The difference is one you don’t have much choice in, and the other is a simple choice.
well potato tomato
Would seem trying to be perfect, not a hypocrite as you suggest, would be a prescription for inaction.
never said anything about trying to be perfect.
just would seem funny to stop watching something because of certain values but going and shopping on amazong or at walmart when they send money towards those same values the nfl stands for now
doesn’t one need to start somewhere – take a first step if you will.
Now just me, I have no idea what/who Walmart gives money to, but I am very much aware of end zones with Black Lives Matter and the playing of the Black National Anthem before a game – those things are right in my face and really hard to ignore.
And to that end, if I went to a Walmart and. they had political advertisements on the walls, I wouldn’t be back.
Is PA going to be calling Vikings games next year?
https://people.com/minnesota-vikings-radio-broadcaster-on-leave-after-mocking-ice-protestors-11892894
PA spoke the truth, and folks are online saying “he made a mistake” and should be forgiven. I think he also issued an apology. That sickens me.
The left wants freedom of speech, unless it is the right speaking.
They are definitely NOT in favor of freedom of speech. They think they’re the Borg… you must assimilate. You must only speak the words they allow.
Never watched that show but the analogy seems appropriate.
perfect analogy.
I find it amazing that the left are silent when any police force or agency arrests or harms someone that is labeled a right wing nazi (trump supporter) but is somehow unhinged when one of their own gets killed.
We had a 4 person group protesting ICE here a couple of weeks ago. Someone black smoked them with their diesel and they called the cops on them. You are out here protesting a law enforcement group, but call another law enforcement group when someone retaliates.
Next time they are protesting, I am going to pull up by them and park, while blasting Ice Ice Baby.
Play “God Bless America” on total blast…
‘Ice Ice Baby’ is a pretty good option.
A “leave of absence” – you know what that means.
Damn, the NFL truly sucks.
i got to play bball with vikings-lore today…
and i think he’ll be playing more so i will be getting to see him more.
Todd Bauman?
nope…
this guy is a bit more gritty….lunchpail type guy..
Alan Page?
a little less judiciary
B-Rob
nope, but most definitely fished with B-rob a time or two i’m sure
Greenway
Thielen likes basketball.
well, let’s just say when i grabbed a rebound over him, i may have said “you’d probably have dropped it anyways”
Troy Williamson?
Kleinsasser?
Erasmus James?
Well, I am pretty sure it was not Corey Stringer.
Too Soon??
bowbunch was right about thielen
I was wrong. Weird. I’m not used to losing being around you guys.
I’m acing it, as expected.
That’s why you are manly purple and not ladylike purple.
Exactly.
gone fishin….loving the music of the day. i love my chemical romance
tugging at my emo heart strings
I finished the thread and put that in there
I knew at least you would like that
and quite honestly, that’s all that really matters…
everyone else here is a bunch of pansies
‘everyone else here is a bunch of pansies’
I resemble that remark!!
Was reading on yesterday’s thread we lost our offensive line question.
Was wondering who would want our line coach?
Yeah… thought the same thing…
His contract was up and we did not re-sign him.
SKOLOHOLICS PICK EM UPDATE #???
Everyone tied for number one this week, which sticks in my craw because I could have been a clear number one. I thought I got my picks in for the Patriots and Seahawks, but then I checked to see who everyone picked once the Patriots started playing, and I discovered I did, in fact, not get my picks in.
Oh well, I was still able to put 16 on the Seahawks and tie everyone.
Everyone got the Patriots game right. Me and Little Fish’ were the only geniuses to pick the Seahawks, however. That surprised me. I was pretty sure a Seahawks victory was certain because they were lifted up by the Curse of the Vikings, and if I had to put money on it, I think they will win the Super Bowl, as well.
The only moment of doubt was when Woolen decided to be a moron. Yet, I appreciated the way Stafford and Nacua then went right at him for a TD. That’s good stuff! I bet Woolen felt a sudden injection of humbleness in his veins at that moment. He is lucky his teammates did not put Ben Gay in his jock strap after that one.
Overall, things look pretty set despite the Super Bowl yet to be scored.
Freezy came in last, but he is first in our hearts, so did he really come in last?
Bowbunch scored 12th Place. You know what they say about 12th Place? It is the 11th loser! I wonder what metal a 12th place medal is. Tin maybe?
Little Fish’in ranked number 11, after his favorite Stranger Things character. Maybe. I don’t know. I gave up on that show in Season 2 because I felt like they were just spinning their wheels rather than committing.
NoDak is a perfect 10. He was number 2 at one time and struggled mightily with the number one player for domination. Alas, it was not meant to be…
PA came in at 9th place. That’s not bad. He is top 10…in a 13-player league, but due to the power of incomplete data statistics, he appears to be an A graded player!
JacksonVike did a commendable job to reach 8th place. He had to work for it, but his put his nose to the grindstone and grinded that nose…on that stone. Jamie Farr could also use a bit of grindstoning on that honker of a nose he has.
Kirko rose to 7th place. Lucky number 7. Slightly above the middle of the pack. You know, that is EXACTLY where a person named Kirk belongs!
Lasallegrouse came in 6th. He actually had a good win loss record. He had the fourth highest win percentage. That win percentage is as glossy as the Vikings win percentage. Another participation trophy for all!
DE broke into the top five. He must have been a wiz with his confidence points because his win percentage should put him down around 7th place. It just goes to show you that it is quality wins over quantity wins at times.
I came in fourth. I am pretty happy with that. I was down in the cellar and climbed steadily through the back half of the season. By then I started to figure out which teams were actually good and which teams just played other bad teams.
Let’s Fish is the first podium person. Third place. That puts him on the level of…actually, I can’t think of a single bronze medal Olympian at all. One of my classmates is married to a silver medalist, though!
Speaking of silver medalists, that would be Surly. Surly also came on strong in the second half of the season. I’m pretty sure he was down around me in the early goings. I like to think I motivated him with spectacular competition. If we didn’t have worthy opponents, what would our victories matter?
And taking it all was ManlyPurple! Everyone be extra nice to him. Frankly, this is all he has going for him, and it was nice of you all to let him win!
You know me so well.
I definitely benefitted from people dropping out.
No props for having the most correct picks? I did not win because I suck at the weighting points. Even if I am the only one to get the last game incorrect, I still have the most correct picks for the sesason.
Good morning, SKOL!

The “pro bowl games” is officially a joke with Sheduer Sanders being added, they’re literally laughing at fans
For years people have been saying the Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest. Who is Sheduer popular with? His selection is a total joke.
most likely every other QB said no thanks
Yeah, for some reason there has been tremendous media support for Shedeur all along. Lots of howls when he wasn’t drafted till the 5th round. Lots of howls that he wasn’t getting reps in training camp. Lots of howls when they started Dillon Gabriel instead of Shedeur after the Browns traded Flacco, and lots of over the top hype when he finally took over when Gabriel got hurt with a shoulder issue and a concussion. Then Shedeur showed everyone he really wasn’t that good. Still the media says he’s going to be great. The NFL selected the worst QB in the league to the Pro Bowl, which effectively closed the door on that honor’s credibility forever.
FTP Auto Rec.
First. Off to a conference today. Not somewhere warm, just a couple hours down the road.
Stay safe… and out of trouble if possible.
