Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
It’s the peak of the week! Life has been insanely busy and chaotic lately (in a good way), and I’m working extra this week in order to get all my monthly first-half work finished so that we can relax on our upcoming mini-vacation. We’re heading out on Sunday and will be out of town until Friday. We’re spending most of the time in the Wisconsin Dells, and we’ll be hitting up Vikings training camp for a day or two. We have tickets to Thursday’s joint practice. No, we aren’t going to practice smoking joints. The Vikings and Patriots are having a joint practice, which means they practice together.
Jordan Addison was officially handed his three-game suspension for a DUI he received a little over a year ago. We all knew this was coming, so it’s not big news. Addison can still participate in training camp and preseason games, and he will serve the three-game suspension once the regular season starts. He will be eligible to return in Week 4 for the Vikings-Steelers matchup in Ireland. It’s kinda ironic that he heads to Ireland, a drinkers paradise, upon finishing a suspension for a DUI. Addison has been excellent since being drafted, and the team will miss his presence, but the Vikings DO have a lot of talent at the WR position. I’m excited to see what Rondale Moore or Tai Felton might do if given a legit shot to make some plays early in the season.
Vikings News
From Yahoo Sports, as we discussed above, it’s a 3-game suspension for Jordan Addison to begin the 2025 season.
Another Viking on the NFL Top 100 of 2025 list. Jonathan Greenard is number 48 on the list, per Vikings.com. Greenard is the third Viking on the list thus far, with Aaron Jones ranked 98th, and Andrew Van Ginkel ranked 88th.
From A to Z Sports, CB Jeff Okudah is turning heads at training camp.
From Captain Obvious NBC Sports, QB J.J. McCarthy will play in the Vikings’ preseason opener. I dunno, is there anyone who thought he wouldn’t play in the opener?

NFL News
George Kittle is not happy that the league has banned smelling salts, per MSN. Those things will open your eyes.
Former NFL RB LeShon Johnson was convicted of six felony dog fighting charges, from NBC Sports. Why not invest in something legal? I dunno, you have gobs of cash, why risk losing your freedom?
Our old pal, Teddy Bridgewater, has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per CBS Sports. I’ve always liked Teddy, and I hope the absolute best for him. He’s one of the good guys and an easy guy to cheer for.
From WFRV Green Bay, ESPN will be acquiring the NFL Network in a landmark deal. For those of you who enjoyed the NFL Network, my guess is that things will be taking a turn for the worse in the near future. If they put Steven A. Smith in the booth, I will be watching the game on mute. Oh wait, I do that anyway.

This is another really good video by Forgotten History, it’s well worth a watch/listen. Enjoy!

MCCARTHY IS A BUST!! (Sarcasm)

Sam Howell…
Allen’s old and washed. Waste of money.
Hmmmm…
According to this chart, the Chicago Bears have the highest projected % of high-end talent in the league. Note where the Vikings are.
It’s what you do with it (talent) that counts. Hasn’t exactly been a strong point.
I honestly can’t figure out how the percentage of first and second round draft picks that are starters, makes you a better team.
New look Twins take series at Tigers. What do i know about sports.
The Pohlasses are geniuses!
Hock is practicing today. He exited Saturday’s practice with a noticeable limp and then didn’t practice Monday due to a combination of leg, hip and back injuries. He may operate only in a limited capacity today, but he’ll have another session tomorrow before the team will need to make a decision regarding whether he takes the field for Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans.
Rest him.
Yeah, let him run around some, catch a few balls, etc. The season is still a month away. He knows the offense inside out. No need to get a lot of reps.
Teddy returns

Teddy two gloves.
Love him so. Hate what happened to him with his alma mater. It’s been his life mission to help those kids. To be fair, he should have hired an attorney to help him figure out how to help them without breaking any rules. He’s been financially supporting them from the bleachers for a decade, but rules are different if you’re the coach. Lots of private schools provide all these resources, but they have expensive attorneys set it up.
Dak is also slated to have a $74M CAP HIT next season
New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel jumped into a pile of players at Wednesday’s practice with the Washington Commanders and came out with a bloodied cheek, which caught the attention of players in the ensuing huddle.
“That’s what we’re trying to build and it starts with the head coach — intensity, bringing it every day, taking no crap when we’re out there on the field,” quarterback Drake Maye said. “The mentality, I like it. That’s what you want.”
Can’t wait until we start getting female head coaches and players in the NFL. This masculine toxicity crap is out of control.
American Eagle put up a ad up in Times Square with Sydney Sweeney. I love it. FU WOKE.
She’s not bad to look at either.
Imagine the car wrecks that billboard is going to cause.
Left would have Rosie O’Donnell in jeans.
Left loves ugly women. Look at Trump’s Press secretary, look at Biden’s. Look at the gals on Fox news, look at the ones on MSNBC.
To me, she’s just another pretty girl in an ad. Maybe I’m not deep enough.
Selling merchandise seems like a good idea. Stimulate economy, create jobs.
absolutely. And nothing at all is wrong with that.
I know that ugly spokeswomen do not encourage me to spend money.
the name of your sex tape??
Well plaid.
Well other than being a registered Reb and having videos of her shooting at the range and having a great sense of humor, see Sat Night Live Video, she is ‘just a pretty girl’.
The reaction is due to the woke saying she is a nazi. So now everyone is pushing back at them.
This is just a case of a group of crazy people insisting we all share their crazy views.
That’s all it is. Pretty ridiculous the attention it’s getting imo. People are stupid about it and need a damn hobby or something.
Who would want to see her in jeans?!
I’m ok seeing her out of jeans…
During her nine hours speaking with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month, Ghislaine Maxwell said nothing during the interview that would be harmful to President Donald Trump, telling Blanche that Trump had never done anything in her presence that would have caused concern, according to sources familiar with what Maxwell said.
As long as she sticks to that story, she has no need to fear getting shanked in the carotid arteries.
I could take him…

Laughing… that’s a big dude.
Does he get a helmet to hit you with like when he attacked Mason Rudolph? That might turn the tides….
Laughing… hell no, we’re going topless, just like in the video.
Well then you’re fine. Haha
Then there’s this:
This is a parody website.
Like Babylon bee ish
FYI
All NFL QB’s can throw a football…
With no pressure on him against their net great pass defense in training camp. Fun stuffff
Just a reminder that the ability to throw a football is just the most basic requirement for any QB. In every camp around the league, they are posting “great throws” by their QB’s. It’s a very basic talent though. It’s like showing video’s of a starting pitcher throwing a baseball.
As you note, there isn’t much pressure, and the receiver is wide open. I can say though, not a lot of guys can throw a football 75 yards in the air.
That does not appear to me to be 75 yards in the air. Unverifiable in the video for sure due to not seeing the field. But he appears to have barely stepped into it. Looks more like 50 to me.
The dudes twitter is a trolling account.
Like post stupid stuff on purpose to get noticed.
Kleiman is a reporter for Bleacher Report. He’s not a troller, nor a parody account. Not sure how you came to this conclusion. Many folks feel he simply reposts other people’s work, but this isn’t a parody poster.

Live in a “active shooter” world, but who needs things like police or ICE? Ask the left, just more social programs.
Their perspective is very flawed. I would hope most reasonable, rational people see what goes on around them every single day and understand why law enforcement is needed.
You would think, but not so sure.
About six months ago got to meet and talk with a couple from Chicago whose nine year old son was shot and killed in the front yard. They were all for more Police. So I said you would vote for a Republican who would provide for better safety of the public. Oh no, will always vote Democrat no matter what.
Rational people are not rational when politics is involved.
When you vote irrationally, you are by default, irrational.
These were smart caring people. But even the loss of a son could not overcome 200 plu years of history.
For some reason I feel like I can guess the race of this couple.
You got it.
Gotta keep voting for the people who owned my ancestors!
It is truly that mentality. They are brainwashed since childhood that white people are going to put them back in chains.
The lady said this to me – “If I ever voted Republican my Daddy would come back from the grave and whip me.”
Trump made huge gains in minority votes. More than any republican candidate ever, if I recall. Minorities are seeing the reality that Dem’s don’t actually do anything for them.
OK, from like 92% to 86% – still progress though.
But, a Republican doesn’t stand a chance in hell getting elected mayor of Philly, LA, Chicago, Minny, DC on and on. And this is really where the issue is paramount.
Looks like Tai Felton and Lucky Jackson are the leading candidates to work as the No. 3 receiver to begin the season with Jordan Addison suspended the first three games for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy, the The Athletic reported.
Felton has been getting some work with the first-team offense in camp with Justin Jefferson sidelined with a hamstring injury. Jalen Nailor will move up to the No. 2 receiver role while Addison is out, but the No. 3 spot is still unsettled. Jackson is a surprising co-leader for the role since he spent all but one game on the practice squad last year. Felton as a 2025 third-round draft pick would appear to have more upside in the role, but could be eased into action as a rookie.
L A Dodgers payroll- $341 million.
MN Twins-$134 million.
Wonder why MLB mostly bores me?
If you were a Dodger fan it wouldn’t.
i’m hoping the new owners take the approach of the Wilfs and can turn the franchise around.
You don’t matter to MLB because you don’t live on one of the coasts, nor do you live in Chicago or Toronto.
I wish they would implement a salary cap in MLB. The PA refuse to agree to it, but it may end up being their downfall. When the only consistently good teams are the Yanks and the Dodgers.
I’ve heard that for more than 20 years. Never going to happen and baseball will just continue to fade because it is boring.
I heard the other day that there is only 34 million on the books for next year. Of course the roster wouldn’t be filled out, but thought it was kinda funny in a sad way.
Think Buc and some other dude under contract.
Ft Steward Ga. is currently on Lockdown due to an active shooter.

Think it’s Ft Stewart. Home of the 3rd Infantry.
Yeah I was typing fast and Auto-correct didn’t say it was wrong.
I can relate SoCal.
2nd Bde area.
5 injured, no confirmed deaths, thankfully.
A shooter in custody, some reports say a 2nd one barricaded.
No reports on who the shooter/s were or why it started.
For people who don’t know, military members on a camp, post, or station are not armed. They are only armed when engaged in combat operations, in a combat zone. Law enforcement and security forces personnel are the only armed persons.
But there are ‘Arms Rooms’ in every company area and any could be open at any time for weapons cleaning/inventory/maintainace and the like, or opened within minutes.
What a wimp, my wife had 3 kids and never needed one of those
Laughing… nice.
Aggravated disc issue doesn’t sound good.
rub some dirt on it sheesh kids these days
Can’t have anything to do with the 10 sacks we hit him with in one 2018 game can it? 😳
Wow. That doesn’t sound good at all.
For those of you looking for a career change…
http://JOIN.ICE.GOV
Looks like fun, but I had enough of law enforcement and kind of like my gig now. Even if I have to do it for another 25+ years.
I would definitely do it, if I was younger. Love what we’re doing to rid the country of gang members, rapists, drug dealers, child sex traffickers, and murders.
Yeah, but part of it is going to be getting sent to God only knows where and then also having to deal with the scum of the earth. You’re going to earn that money. It would be a fun “vacation” from my normal job, but I couldn’t do it for 20 years.
Well I pretty much did that for many years in the military.
As you know the military and law enforcement require a certain mentality – and I don’t mean that like a put down for those who don’t have it. My Dad had it, I didn’t.
Yeah, it takes a special kind of person to do that kind of work. Not everyone’s cup of tea.
Yeah, not anywhere close to your extreme and not for nearly as long, but I moved around more than enough already.
Well thank you for your contributions Bow. Hopefully we can garner some folks who will be “the next generation” that can do what is right for the Nation. Law and order are foundational tenets we must uphold.
50 grand signing bonus is pretty damn ‘grand.’ Hope a lot of the good younger folks go for this.
Me too. Serve the greater good of the country, have a purpose, and get paid. Makes sense to me.
We certainly need a reinvigorated sense of patriotism in this country. Squash all this enthusiasm for communism goin on.
Aaron Donald says he would consider coming out of retirement to join the Rams if Micah Parsons is traded there.
Another one bites the dust. How much USAID money was going to keep these libs on the air?
It also shows conservatives entertainment choices aren’t completely based on their political beliefs. Stern had a large conservative audience, until he told them to get lost.
Looks like he got what he asked for. Well deserved then.
Anybody know how many ILBs they keep? That looks like a pretty full room with Pace, Cashman, Wilson and Asamoah.
Last year 4 inside linebackers and 5 outside linebackers made the final cut.
Kind of sounds like the 4 are pretty set then. Maybe trade Wilson if one of the other guys plays good in camp/preseason? I’ve heard good things about Asamoah this summer, but maybe that is just trade bait.
Yeah, it’s a competitive room for sure. That’s a good problem to have though.
I’d rather trade Assymoah. But he isn’t worth much…
That’s pretty cool. Not sure if it’s real, but very cool.
You know as close as we live to Clearwater we should have gone to the. funeral.
Yeah, I kind of just go with it’s cool and don’t care if it’s real anymore. Especially with where AI has gone in the last year, it’s tough to tell. Did you see that crazy, almost realistic picture of Cousins holding a Lombardi? That’s just wild and crazy.
Laughing… are you talking about the pic with him in a Lions uniform?
Cousins is good enough to win a Super Bowl with a team that can get there. It would be interesting to see him with the Rams, 49ers, Lions, or even the Packers. He would do very well with any of those teams.
Yes, the one I created because I was in a bad mood and wanted to spread misery by even putting that stupid idea into the universe.
Laughing… good job Bow.
The internet is fun. Look what came up when I searched for “Doctors in eastern Montana”.
OK Bow… over my head. Is that GF?
Who’s a bald doctor in eastern Montana?
Maybe somewhere like Sidney, Miles City or Glendive?
Probably drives this van.
There’s no windows in his van.
OK, I guess that’s MT. No idea what he looks like.
It’s an AI thing/joke I made from a comment he made awhile ago. That’s not actually him, but he’s talked enough about being bald and then he must have made a comment about wearing a cheerleader outfit for the wife or something. Grok image creation is fun.
OK… didn’t really know the background story here.
The internet even has a pic of you from a few years ago.
Laughing… nice Bow.
He shoulda sued Usain Bolt.
Hey MT, need a gouger translation. What does the below mean in layman’s terms?
Patellofemoral osteoarthritis with full-thickness cartilage loss and subchondral marrow change.
Small areas of full-thickness cartilage fissuring in the lateral tibiofemoral compartment. Articular relation the medial tibiofemoral compartment remains well-preserved. Trace knee joint effusion and tiny popliteal cyst.
Kinda sounds like i should just amputate above the knee and get a peg leg.
A suspect for knee replacement. Looks like damage to two of the three knee compartments.
I suspect the bone spurs are causing the damage. I’m hoping that treating the cause and trying to repair the cartilage may help hold off a knee replacement. 39 is too young for that.
I’m no doctor but arthritis with full thickness cartridge loss cannot be reversed. The lateral department does seem fixable and the medial seems good. At your age when only one compartment is severly damaged, a partial replacement is a good option.
It means the cartilage at the undersurface of the kneecap and underlying femoral trochlea is completely worn away and the adjacent bone surfaces are polishing each other (eburnation). It also means that the cartilage is chipping away in the lateral aspect of the tibiofemoral joint (the one Teddy dislocated) meaning there is inexorable progression to bone on bone there as well.
Not good at age 39…looking at a TKA.
Hey MT, Bow posted a great pic of you. You’re a good looking man! Grin.
Haha I look good in purple.
Good diagnosis Doc.
Well that sounds lovely.
Do you take coins?
Waiting on the orthopedist to call and give me the bad news.
This is the full radiologist report.
Menisci: Intact.
Ligaments: Anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament, and lateral collateral ligament are intact. Patellofemoral ligaments are unremarkable.
Bones and articulations: Patellofemoral osteoarthritis with full-thickness cartilage loss and subchondral marrow change. TT-TG interval estimated at 16 mm. Lateral patellar tilt with elongation of the lateral patella facet. Asymmetry of the femoral trochlea.
Small areas of full-thickness cartilage fissuring in the lateral tibiofemoral compartment. Articular relation the medial tibiofemoral compartment remains well-preserved. Trace knee joint effusion and tiny popliteal cyst.
Other: None.
Impression:
Patellofemoral osteoarthritis with full-thickness cartilage loss and subchondral marrow change. Morphology of the patellofemoral compartment can present clinically as patella stability.
Ha ha, you have unremarkable patellofemoral ligaments.
Haha. I found that statement comical as well. It got a lot less funny as I kept reading though.
A story some may laugh at but don’t think you will given the circumstances.
I was a runner and one of my knee compartments got to bone on bone. Tried PT and all the shots and I became disgusted as I just couldn’t do much.
So, one day was watching special olympics and one guy was running with those kind of springy things as he had lost both legs. BUT, he was running.
Scheduled an appointment with Doc. Went right in and told the Doc I wanted my leg cut off at the left knee, Had to be be better than this. Of course, he said I think we can come up with something a little better than that.
You see, your first problem was running….. for fun….by choice.
Damn, JR… that’s a little extreme.
Had been very active and got to the point walking 100 yards was painful as hell. After a year of shots and all the PT crap, I was sick and tired of being a gimp. I truly wanted my life back.
Haha I would have loved to hear what he said when he left the room.
More money for a knee replacement than an amputation.
Seriously, we both had a good laugh and he actually said “It’s time we fixed this up.”
I hate the word unremarkable in radiology reports. Poor diction.
The last word in the report should read instability, as in patella instability, as in sliding off laterally.
I know about the instability, I’ve dislocated my patella half a dozen times in the last 20 years. So you only get one dollar for that one.
Yeah, I would surmise with that TT-TG interval that you had a decent chance of having transient lateral patellar dislocation scrubbing off the cartilage like applying a lawnmower blade to a grinding wheel.
https://radsource.us/transient-lateral-patellar-dislocation/
Reading that article brings back painful memories. Especially the last time it happened when it didn’t pop back on its own, I had to realign it myself while laying in pain on a basketball court. That was about 9 years ago.
At this point I’m probably looking at ways to cope while trying to delay a total replacement until I’m older. Do you have opinions on some of the treatment options (Corticosteroids, platelets, etc)?
Some say weed helps.
So long knee, it was a good run.
You can’t explain anything to Five, he knows everything. Just ask him. Oh wait…
😆 😂 🤣
I don’t recall……
I can’t remember…..
I have no recollection….
Wow, Vikings joint practice, what a cool trip for your son GF. Daddy will probably have fun too.
Hopefully we get a lot of news out of these joint practices. Maybe get some solid insight to how the team looks against a real opponent.
I bet the offense looks a lot better than it has against their own.
One would think so. Our defense is potent, and fully mature now. Keep in mind though, in camp, the first team defense goes against the second team offense, and the first team offense goes against the second team defense for the most part in the 11 on 11 drills. Thus (mostly) McCarthy and the offense have not faced our real first team defense much.
From the clips I’ve seen, there’s been a lot of 1 v 1 and that’s also without Darrisaw, Jets and TJ for a lot of it. I think the Vikings offense will good pretty good against the Patriots and don’t expect the starters to play in the second preseason game.
Agree
I certainly hope so at this point.
I remember Zimmer sniffing smelling salts on the sideline to keep himself alert, I guess.
I remember him getting in trouble for putting in a massive dip too.
Why would the NFL sell their own network? Sounds stupid to me. Especially since they are selling it to ESPN. ESPN sucks.
What does this mean for fans? I can’t imagine it will be a good thing for fans or for the game.
Another subscription or app to add…
I’m very unhappy about this. Likely means the end of commercial free Redzone all day Sunday.
7 hrs of commercials starts NOW!
No kidding.
They’ll keep Redzone but have endless commercials and Stephen A. and Cowherd will host it.

Almost sounds like a kid.
You may notice with age the parents become the children and the children the parents, And the “new” children actually seem to get younger as they age.
How long do you have to wait before you can start acting like a child? I suppose I should retire first…
If you never stop, you never have to ask when you can start again.
Excellent point.
I can vouch from personal experience that parentification (the child assuming more parental role with their parents) sucks. You definitely have to step away and take care of yourself. It’s all the more frustrating when (as I’m sure many of you have or will experience) you try to have conversations about their wishes as they transition from middle age to elderly and you are repeatedly told it is none of your beeswax and that “everything is taken care of, you will have nothing to worry about” Man if I had a dollar for every time I heard that.
As my Daughter recently told me – ‘Be good to me Dad, I’m the one that’s going to be picking your elder care facility.’
If I get to that point, I’ve already told my wife I’m tying a t-bone around my neck and going to the Beartooths. I’ll let the bears and lions spread my remains.
Laughing. My mom passed at 92. She was also a trip. She told my wife many stories about me as a kid that were completely untrue (OK, mostly untrue). Every time we saw each other she would ask me if I had started smoking and drinking. I would say “no, why?” and she would always say “well you know how it is with those military boys, they always start drinking and smoking”. I’d remind her that I spent 28 years in the military and never smoked or drank heavily, and she’d say “well, just don’t start”.
