More activity on the coaching carousel as Mike Tomlin resigns from Pittsburgh. We’re up to having nearly 1/4 of the NFL head coaching positions vacant. I don’t recall having this many head coaches replaced in one year for quite a while.

Worth noting that Flores was born and raised in Brooklyn – huge fan of the Giants/Mets. Played at BC and started at NE when he was 23 – every job but the Vikings DC gig has been East Coast based. Might just want to be closer to home.

Why anyone would go through the punishing and demanding pathway to become a board certified physician only to cast away science in the name of ideology confuses me. Like someone going through the rigorous process to become a team member of a SEAL team only to state they are a conscientious objector.

As a somewhat early gen x-er I’m starting to feel the boomer alert vibe. I lurk on a couple of reddit pages and this post came up from my alma mater:
I thank the powers that be that there was no such thing as cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc when I was in college. Why anyone would not shut off or silence their phones during a lecture they are paying for? Even if you are bored AF have some respect for your fellow students, leave the class if you really need to take a call when the phone buzzes.
My nephew posted a picture labeled ‘all set up for a lecture in class’.
It showed his laptop set up with a movie ready to be played.
When asked he said he had an earbud and that the lecture/class was pretty boring but it was required.
Who’s footing the bill? Regardless, hopefully it’s a class he can easily pass.
There were 36 students in my Occupational Therapy class, and only one was being 100% funded by her parents. Guess who dropped out because “it was too hard”?
I had the GI Bill, and the rest came out of my pocket. My degree mandated my grades stayed above a B average. I paid attention even in the boring classes.
He had a scholarship due to being in a dual STEM class (physics) and teaching program.
He had family help with housing/food and the rest.
He is currently a HS teacher.
So….these are future doctors then? Should we be worried?

Nah, this is an introductory biology course. I’m guessing it is in one of the cavernous lecture halls I was in my first two years, there are pre meds in those courses but lots of other majors. I bet it is a 650 seat class.

Inflation is actually a good thing.
While I agree that inflation can be a good thing, it normally is not at all a good thing.
Wages rarely keep pace with inflation. I earn less today, adjusted for inflation, than I made 25 years ago doing the same job. Actually, I am in a higher role and have more responsibilities now.
Inflation is nothing more than the word bankers adding to the fiat money supply to steal from people that work for a living.

Think it depends on item. Yesterday core inflation number was 2.6%, but that number does not include food and energy. The WSJ reported yesterday that ‘food prices’ actually went up and biggest increase in four years. Gasoline is down, but total energy costs (including utilities) is not.
The WSJ is far from liberal and their material is usually spot on.
The mid terms will be a good judge of what consumers (voters) really feel about prices.

I always considered Washington the number #2 President but considering that a lot of great things he did during the Revolution War was before he was president I would currently rank him as #3.

I am in a long text discussion with my cousins/nephews/brothers regarding bringing in Rodgers….All of them are fairly intelligent folks, so I am struggling to understand how they support such a stupid, awful idea.

Work and hauling wife to doctor appointments (she’s fine) knock me out a couple days, and I come up for air to see Addison got arrested again.
I don’t know whether to trade him or lock him up as a WR3 for super cheap since his value has to be pretty low right now maybe.
“Hey, Addison, five years for the vet minimum, what do you say?”
Add a few incentives, like bail money twice a year.
Imagine if he was given $250,000 in bail money a year as part of his contract.
Would he just be dumb more often, or just go for it all in one arrest?
The guy clearly has not learned. But on the other hand, is it a big deal? Think of other jobs out there. Would people be let go if they had his history and did things unrelated to their profession? Would their employer even know?
I’m not a lawyer, but this seems like sound advice.
