Vikings Conversation

The “experts” were finally notified of something we all knew long ago. The Vikings aren’t pursuing Aaron Rodgers. Now all the big outlets are plastering it all over the headlines like it’s an earth-shattering revelation. Dummies, they’re so gullible. I’ve heard other rumors that the Vikings are going to trade McCarthy to the Chargers for Herbert. I’ll go ahead and make an announcement: that isn’t happening, either. These folks just REALLY need something to write about.

Vikings News

MSN talks about what the insiders are saying about the Vikings plans for QB2. Pure guesses pulled straight from a rectal cavity.

At Vikings.com, Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen are ready to help Bryan Flores wreak havoc. I can’t wait to see this team hit the field.

Also at Vikings.com, Isaiah Rodgers talks about his favorite Super Bowl memory and his early Vikings connections.

We have all known this from the beginning, but the sports media just learned that the Vikings will not be pursuing Aaron Rodgers, from CBS Sports.

NFL News

CBS Sports looks at the top 5 remaining free agents in the NFL. A-a-ron, Russ Wilson, and Diggs are all still available.

Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Kirk Cousins are going to be featured on the next installment of Netflix’s “Quarterback” docu-series, per NFL.com. Wow, I didn’t know they featured backups on that show.

Cam Robinson will be joining the Texans on a one-year deal, per ESPN. If that’s their master plan to replace Tunsil, I feel sorry for C.J. Stroud. From my recollection, Robinson did not perform overly well last year for the Vikings.

Commercials/advertizing only exists to sell you something, they try to convince you that you need that something.
I find them all insulting and so unauthentic that I make sure I remember not to buy anything from any of them.

Unifor, Canada’s largest private sector union, announced that Canadian furniture maker Prepac is closing down its manufacturing plant in Delta, British Columbia (B.C.), and moving all production to its other manufacturing plant in North Carolina — which first opened in 2021.

Trump continuing to bring more manufacturing and jobs to the U.S. by imposing tariffs. Love it!

Don’t need no stinking jobs coming to America and improving life style. Teslas too. The left, cheerleaders for EV’s, now ok with domestic terrorism against it. Has any “notable” dim come out and condemn this? Guess i missed it.

This is just one of many examples the Dem’s have provided us showing how ridiculously unhinged, hypocritical, and unworthy of trust, they are.

The party of caring is a lie these days, and it’s sad. They once really had a decent platform. Today, they stand for nothing, as evidenced by all their violence against Musk and others.

The taxpayers have spent 3 Trillion dollars on this department since 1979. We have terrible education scores to show for it. Yeah, it has to go.

Whatever “good” functions there are within it, can be moved elsewhere.

One thing folks don’t understand when it comes to Congressional spending, is in recent history, they have either failed to pass a budget on time, or even pass one at all.

This changed in Trump’s first term somewhat, but after he left office, the Biden administration and Congress failed to pass a budget on time. Here is the last 30 years of budgets from Congress:

  1. 1976 – First budget resolution passed on time.
  2. 1989 – Budget passed before the start of the fiscal year.
  3. 1995 – Congress passed a budget on time, avoiding a government shutdown.
  4. 2001 – Budget resolution was completed before the fiscal year began.
  5. 2002 – Congress approved the budget on schedule.
  6. 2003 – Timely passage of the budget occurred.
  7. 2004 – Budget passed before the fiscal year started.
  8. 2005 – On-time budget resolution was achieved.
  9. 2018 – Congress passed a budget on time, marking a rare occurrence in recent years.
  10. In 2019, five appropriation bills were passed in September 2018, the first time five bills had been enacted on time in 22 years, with the rest of the government being funded through a series of three continuing resolutions. The remainder of government funding was enacted as an omnibus spending bill in February 2019.
  11. 2020 – Budget was passed before the fiscal year commenced in October 2019.

These eleven instances highlight the years when Congress managed to meet the budget deadline effectively. Three of them were under Trump.

Under Biden, the budgets have all run late.

  1. In 2021, Congress passed a continuing resolution to fund the government temporarily. In other words there was no budget under Biden that year.
  2. The fiscal year 2022 budget was passed by Congress in March 2022. The fiscal year begins in October. 6 months of the fiscal year passed before we got a budget.
  3. For fiscal year 2023, Congress passed a budget, which was signed into law in December 2022. 3 months after the fiscal year started.
  4. In 2024, unable to pass the dozen annual appropriations bills that fund the federal government, lawmakers repeatedly relied on short-term funding extensions to keep the government operating since October of 2023. Biden signed an appropriations bill in March of 2024, to fund the Government through September.
  5. For FY 2025, we see no budget has yet been passed, so Biden failed again to get a budget done for the country.

Congress continues to fight over budgets, and use continuing resolutions to avoid government shutdowns during budget negotiations. Trump is the only President since 2005 to get a budget passed on time, and he did it three times.

All cuts/budgets are political.
Every Rep and Senator has ‘skin in the game’ for every item. That is why they cannot make cuts from inside Congress. No matter what is on the chopping block it will cost someone votes, money or support.
That is why it has to be done by an outsider ie Doge, Musk, Trump. That is why they are being fought every step of the way. Both sides say ‘cutting waste/fraud/abuse is a good thing but they can never agree what that is.
Once mans ‘waste/fraud/abuse’ is another mans valid entitlement.

Totally agree, but finally the right is fully backing the President and supporting real Government cuts. We didn’t need a new Congress… we needed a new President. I served a bunch of Presidents, but Trump is hands down, the greatest President I have ever worked with.

Was watching Purple Daily. Love Thorsday! Find Thor Nystrom interesting although a bit overly optimistic. Anyway, not sure if it has been mentioned here, but Joe Flacco is a free agent, not a cut so signing him now could impact comp pics. Did not realize that.
If they are indeed looking at him it would explain why they have not signed him yet.

A Georgia man that was held captive for over two years by the Taliban, the Islamic terrorist group based in Afghanistan, has been released following negotiations between the Trump administration and Qatari officials.

The Taliban abducted 65-year-old George Glezmann while he was visiting Afghanistan on December 5th, 2022.

He has now been released after negotiations involving Trump’s special hostage envoy, Adam Boehler, alongside Taliban and Qatari officials.

Serious question. Leading us where? Their direction is towards destroying the country and taking away all our rights and freedoms. New leadership for that? No thank you. Trump has this all right. He will deliver the populace to a much better future.

Our biggest threat is the country’s out of control debt and spending. The left wants to tax us more (they say the rich, but their tax proposals don’t work out that way) as their solution. Trump has a better idea. Stop spending like drunken sailor, and bring tons (I mean Trillions of dollars) in new business into the country.

Spend less, bring in more external revenue. THAT is a salient plan. He has already brought in over two trillion dollars in new business in less than 50 days BTW.

Destroying the country:

Allowing tens of millions of illegal aliens to transit into the country. Many of them murderers, rapists, human traffickers, and drug dealers for the Cartel. Then spending hundreds of Billions of taxpayer money to provide care and support to all these people.Spending Trillions of dollars we don’t have on stupid shit, or worse laundered through NGO’s into Dem political pots. Ultimately bankrupting the country, which of course is the end of the road.Supporting massive trade deficits with basically every country in the world, while also providing hundreds of billions of subsidies that prop them up.Destroying our young people by providing puberty blockers, and encouraging them to undergo gender transition surgery, which is permanent mutilation of their bodies and fucking them up forever.Teaching anti-semitism in our schools, and supporting terrorist organizations hell bent on destroying Israel and the Western world.Burning down businesses and destroying the property of anyone that opposes them. Also doxing anyone they deem an enemy.Jailing or even killing their political opponents.Race baiting every issue to the extreme, to convince the populace the country is fundamentally racist, and keeping people divided and hating each other.Mandating that men can compete against women in sports and beat them up in a ring legally.Etc, etc, etc. I could go on for days. Weeks maybe.

The Dem’s have been, and want to continue destroying the country, while professing they are the savior. It’s sick, twisted, and insidious.

I was hit by an IED and was “out of service” for 6 months. I lucked out, because we were doing a “tactical weave” where we went from one side of the road to the other side of the road periodically, to make us harder to hit. We were in the process of shifting from the left side of the road to the right when the IED detonated. It damaged the left side of the vehicle badly, and we flipped over, but we weren’t killed. Apparently that God guy that people don’t believe in wasn’t ready for me to depart the station yet.

Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who purports to be transgender, said this week that he plans to compete in the Olympics in 2028.

Last year, this guy gained worldwide attention for beating up a female boxer, Angela Carini, from Italy. Carini quit after competing against Khelif in only 46 seconds.

This is despicable in the extreme. Female athletes train their entire lives to compete in the Olympics, in hopes of winning a medal. The Olympic Committee, by siding with transgender athletes, has wrecked Olympic competition for women. I suspect more transgender males will win more medals in women’s sporting events in 2028. Eventually, it may come about that all the medals in female competition will be won by men identifying as women.

Politicians as a rule are self serving liars. That’s why we elected a businessman (twice) to fix the country. Conservatives by nature are pragmatic, and prudent (that’s why they are called conservatives). Liberals are emotionally driven activists constantly seeking something to rebel against and wreck. They are not builders, they are destroyers. That said, there are many reasons why the country is $36T in debt, all associated with the politicians that spent it. One side is aligning behind a President working to make the country safer, more secure, more prosperous and “unwoke”. The other side is trying to destroy all that.

Americans want their country back. We don’t want liberals ruling us.

It really confuses me. I mentioned this before, an old classmate of mine who is an ER doc in Minnesota was virtue signaling support for transgender athletes. My wife (who has the FB account) said that trans women should have their own league, egregious for women who have fought for equality in sports at all levels get beaten by men at their own game. Another poster started sparring with my wife, I told her to say Lebronna Jane is thinking of joining the WNBA now that he turned 40, bet she will put a real whipping on the record books. The reply was that Lebron is not transgender, but if he was he would have to go through rigorous medical exams and blood testing. Oh really? Good comeback. I’m not aware of any rigorous medical exams or blood testing that trans women undergo to compete as women in sports. Certainly blood tests for performance enhancing drugs but AFAIK there is not requirement for their testosterone to fall below a certain level. I could certainly be misinformed. Boy I’d love to do that physical exam…can you lift your penis to the side so I can check for lesions – AAUGH misgendered you’re FIRED!

I thought they did have to have their Testosterone below a certain level to be able to compete. I just remember this being the argument. Like testosterone is the only difference between men and women.

Does living in a dry, warmer climate really help?

Yeah, I have a number of broken bones from military service. I’ve suffered a dislocated shoulder, broke my collar bone, broken ribs, fractured vertebrae, shrapnel wounds, etc, etc, etc.

I am in pain pretty much all the time. Florida heat and humidity does seem to make it more tolerable though.

Arthritis is a terrible thing. Like you, broke collar bone, tore rotor cuff in the other, tore a meniscus, and numerous dislocated fingers. Went thru life just fine. Then as one ages, seems like every joint of my body that was. injured earlier, now has arthritis. And you cannot beat it.

I will say, I have had times where my natural competitive nature has come out on a golf course. I was playing a friendly round with my buddies in Maryland, and one of our guys invited his neighbor to play with us. We were laughing and joking as we usually do, enjoying our Saturday recreation. At the turn this neighbor guy announced he had me by 3 strokes on the front. I shot 46 and he shot 43. My friend looked at me and said “Can you believe this guy? I think you should kick his ass.”

I shot 39 on the back while he collapsed and shot 48.

“Sick time” has been taken advantage of by many for a long time. It amazes me how some people have 100s of hours of sick time but others always run out. I know everyone is different and have different situations, but it is obvious that some people take advantage. Mental health sucks, but it is something that will be taken advantage of by those that are just looking for an excuse. I have had issues with anxiety and have never taken a mental health day. Maybe I should. For me, it is even harder to use sick time now because I can work at home so if I have a respiratory issue, I can stay home, work a few hours and take a nap. So instead of using 8 hours of sick time, I may only use 3 or 4 hours.

For people who may be concerned about the left’s opposition of Trump using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to remove criminal aliens, here is a quote from the Act that will dispel the commentary that this is only a “war time” Act, and Congress must declare war, for the President to take any actions under it. That is a total lie to the public (as usual).

“Whenever there is a declared war between the United States and any foreign nation or government, or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated… against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government, and the President makes public proclamation of the event, all natives, citizens, denizens, or subjects of the hostile nation or government…who shall be within the United States and not actually naturalized, shall be liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies.”

Trump has met every standard of the Act, and is within his legal powers as President to remove these people without due process.

Perhaps they can stay healthy and become major pieces for us, perhaps not, but we aren’t RELYING on some of these smaller added low risk HIGH REWARD players and i’m really liking that about what the organization is doing

This country has gone to shit with woke agendas and insane spending and debt, as well as crazy border policies. The rest of the world disrespected us daily, and took advantage of us every day as well. Inflation destroyed our buying power. Our schools encouraged our children to question their gender, instead of learning to read, write, and do arithmetic. Our country fell into total disarray. So no, we were far from great. Very far.

The reason we are divided is because of the identity politics of left. That fracturing was necessary for the left to garner enough votes to maintain power. Trump started getting more support from hispanics, blacks, women, Asians, and Jews. He is indeed the one person uniting the country. The liberals are fighting him tooth and nail, because if he continues to bring us together, make us safer, make us more secure, and make us more prosperous, the left has absolutely nothing.

You do know that DT added 7.2 trillion to the debt during his first term, the most in a first term than any other president. The worst thing about it is that alot of it was because of tax cuts for the rich. It’s one thing if the money goes to things that help the majority, but it did not during his first term.

You do know the Dem’s forced Trillions of dollars in spending due to COVID right?

Also, the loss in revenue because the country was shut down by the Dem’s. Businesses went out of business forever by the thousands.

The commentary that Trump added over 7 Trillion dollars to the debt, because of tax cuts to the rich, is a lie. The debt grew because of the money spent on COVID, and loss of businesses due to COVID restrictions. You remember Trump being crucified for suggesting all the COVID restrictions needed to stop, so folks could get back to work, right?

The political pressure from the left insisting we inject everyone with a COVID “vaccine” that didn’t even slow it down, was ridiculous. Trump really had no choice but to approve the Congressional spending bills. The country thought COVID was the plague.

Deficit spending is the norm, unless a President stops it like Bill Clinton did. Deficit spending in extreme circumstances occurs. Doing it as a way of life is insane. If a surplus of $500 billion per year were achieved today, it would take over 80 years to pay off the debt. That isn’t a balanced budget. That’s if we can achieve a surplus budget.

No, COVID was an illness. There were countries that didn’t shut anything down, didn’t mandate their populace inject themselves with an unknown substance, didn’t wear masks or social distance. Their morbidity rates were no higher than the countries and governments that did all this. As a result, their economies were not impacted and their lives went on as usual.

COVID was not the plague. Most of the millions of COVID deaths reported weren’t even from COVID.

Everyone in the medical community and pretty much all of Government knew this. It’s just a fact that a cotton mask does nothing, social distancing does nothing, and washing your hands frequently does nothing to stop an aerosol virus.

People were heavily chastised for saying it though, and the politicians refused to reveal it to the populace. Trump got fed up, took his mask off, and got crucified for “spreading lies to the American public, and endangering them”.

It was proven afterwards that a lot of the things that were told to us wasn’t true. When things were going on, it was an unknown. It’s ok when to admit when you’re wrong, but now it’s all political and nobody wants to be wrong.

No it wasn’t an unknown. The whole medical community knew that what we were being told was a lie. Pretty much all of our elected Government representatives knew too, but “for the good of the country” (including what they invested their money into) they lied to us. Fauci lied, and eventually Trump caught on. Then in 2020 the Dem’s kept saying Trump completely mishandled COVID, which was completely baseless rhetoric, in the election campaign. Remember Biden telling everyone if they had just worn a mask, millions of lives would have been saved? He knew he was lying, but it discredited Trump. People believed the lies of the left, and not the honest truth of Donald Trump.

No, on the left their ideology is fluid like their gender.

Rod Beck an MLB closer once was asked by a reporter at spring training about his increased weight. Beck’s response, “never heard of anyone going on the IR for a pulled fat.”

Laughing…. indeed. The wife wants me to start swimming, so that is probably a good compromise.

So, how did they know before the season, that the three QB’s they followed in QB1 that it would work out that one QB would end the season early and in misery, one would have a good season, and one would make the Super Bowl? They didn’t. It just worked out that way.

In QB2, none of them made the Super Bowl.
