So, I’m not real happy with how the American team is acting before the Ryder Cup (which starts tomorrow). Colin Morikawa said the crowds have been “too tame” so far and he wants them to bring “total chaos”.

Since Rodgers is a little older and slower, one would think blitzing him would be a good plan. Thus, I think Flores is gonna bring it. If you don’t get to him though, he’ll make you pay. Metcalf will be his primary target of course, but Jonnu Smith will also be a key focus. Rodgers knows what he’s doing so make it hard on him. He’s second in the NFL in passing TD’s with 7 after three games, with only 3 interceptions. Clamp down on Metcalf and Smith, and pressure Rodgers from every direction. That’s my take.

Yep, Rodgers worked very hard on his “escape plans” from the pocket to get away from pressure for years. He ran scramble drills with his receivers to make sure they knew where he was going, and where he needed them to be. He was a master of this. Folks thought he was a great improviser, but his scramble plays were often planned, practiced, and purposeful. He’s at least three steps slower now though, and his receiving corps isn’t comprised of top of the league talent. He’s only averaging 195 yards a game, which means he’s not bombing anyone. I think we can sack him several times on Sunday, and force some bad throws too.

Some of you need to learn how to disagree more agreeably. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean they have some sort of syndrome or hate the person they are talking about or align with evil. You also don’t always have to be right. That’s annoying. Sometimes just let it go. I can feel differently about something than you and we can both be decent people or at least just people. He never stops. He never quits. He is setting the world right, not just our country.
So he pokes fun and highlights the lie that was his predecessor. Yeah, OK…

well mrs freeze and i have officially decided to sell our home and purchase the new place i had mentioned a few weeks back.
there had been a few hurdles to overcome, including the new place needed a new septic installed (which the homeowner is getting done as we speak)
i am very excited to say goodbye to my current home (been there for almost 14 years) and give my kids a place they can roam and play and build LOTS of great memories
now the real work begins, getting our house ready for showings….

I find the tylenol information interesting. Share a little story that happened to me few years back and this medicine stuff.
Got a knee replacement. Didn’t want narcotics so Doc says take high doses of tylenol. I said doesn’t seem to work for me, rather take Advil. He says no, may cause bleeding.
Year later find out I have to get all my wisdom teeth pulled. Big deal when you’re older. Anyway, the Doc says you’re going on Penicillin and heavy Advil. I say I’m allergic to penicillin and I thought advil causes bleeding. He then says when were you tested about penicillan – I guess not since I was 5 years old. He says the “new” penicillin” is nothing like the old one and he guessed i wasn’t allergic, give it a try.
For the advil, he said that was a 25 year old study and the actual difference in the two was less that one person in a thousand. Trust him, take the advil.
Well, found out I’m not allergic to penicillin and taking the advil, which I really preferred, made no difference. Should have taken it for the knee.

There was a show called Strange Addictions, I think. I remember seeing they had a couple on it who were addicted to coffee enemas. The husband and wife would give themselves one every day. Said it made them feel great, which I can see if you are absorbing caffeine straight from your colon walls.
Apparently, you can absorb a lot straight from your colon. There was a family adrift at sea and they staved off dying of thirst by giving themselves enemas with the brackish water in their raft. Their colon wall filtered out the impurities and absorbed good fluid.
I actually heard about this a long time ago, I think in a military survival training school. The instructor told us about it and I think I said something like, so you want us to pack an enema bag in our gear?

Looking ahead to Sunday’s game, Pittsburgh has given up a league-high 32 explosive plays, defined as 10 yards or longer. Four of those turned into touchdowns, including a fourth-down, 16-yard throw from Drake Maye to tight end Hunter Henry that tied the game in the fourth quarter this past weekend. Some of that is the result of injuries to starters and communication issues with new personnel, but the Steelers could have trouble stopping Jefferson, Addison, and Nailor/Thielen. Certainly the Steelers will know, and be wary of KOC’s favorite play, the deep crosser to Jefferson. I imagine they will play a three deep shell coverage a lot. That would force us to lean on underneath throws to Hock, and run the ball more.
As I recall Steelers don’t cover all that well although they did pick up Ramsey. But they are usually pretty good at getting after the QB.
Yeah, the Steelers have 8 sacks so far in the first 3 games. The Vikings have 9.
I do think they have a decent pass rush, but overall their defensive stats aren’t very good. They have allowed 10 TD’s so far, so teams are scoring on them. They’re 28th in yards allowed, and 22nd in points allowed (25.7 per game).
We should beat this team, unless Rodgers puts up 35 on us.
If only Minn had some other decent receivers to throw to.

Honestly DE, our passing offense under McCarthy was weak. Under Wentz it was better, and more consistent for sure, but KOC is definitely running the ball more to take pressure off the QB. So thus far, none of our receivers are lighting it up, really, and I put that on play calling and QB play. We are currently third to last in the league in the passing game.
I’m hoping to see more passing game emphasis this week now that Wentz has his feet wet. The Steelers defense isn’t a top 5 group, so we should be able to make some hay in the passing game against them.
IMHO, McCarthy’s pass pro was piss poor except for the 4th quarter of the Bears game. And, we were still trying to keep Jones in the game as RB1.
Mason is obviously the better choice for RB1, so now we actually have a run game to balance out the game plan, and Darrisaw back on the field made an immediate impact in protection.
Put McCarthy in the game last week and I think we would have seen fairly similar results. Wentz didn’t really light up the passing stats, and our D made the win much more lopsided.
McCarthy is too young and inexperienced. Yes the O-line play was not really great, but Cousins has had an entire career behind bad lines, and still produced. There were many plays where McCarthy was totally locked down by the rush for sure, but others where he simply didn’t know what was going on, or what to do. He can’t process the defense yet. He can just run plays. To be successful as a QB in the NFL, you have to know what you’re doing, and you have to process very, very quickly. McCarthy isn’t at that level yet. That is NOT a knock on him either. Young QB’s have to learn and experience so much before they can really be good. As KOC said… 10,000 reps and 10,000 hours.
And now we know…
That is a busy stretch. But I would assume at this juncture most teams all follow the some procedures for going over seas right?
KOC actually studied this and came up with a very strategic plan based on physiological data, to travel overseas. The time of departure, the rest/sleep periods, meals, and the practices and meetings are carefully timed. Hydration and nutrition has also been carefully considered. The planning is focused on having the players physiologically at their best when the game starts.

It has. I think it’s a pretty smart move. Really having an actual plan, based on actual data, to combat jet lag and limit the physiological impact of overseas travel.
I have heard that but I assumed others followed. So it hasn’t become standard procedure.
Honestly Edge, I don’t know. It seems to me, that other teams would be smart enough to recognize what the Vikings did in this regard, and follow their lead. But then, I also think building the best offensive and defensive lines in the league is the first thing a team should focus on when it is in transition, and yet they spend millions on receivers who touch the ball 5 times a game.
Obviously Addison is returning to the mix this week. Wentz hasn’t actually been here that long. We signed him back on the 24th of August, so 35 days ago today. He really hasn’t been able to gel much time on task with the receivers to be honest. Timing and a feel for their downfield speed is something that does take some time, especially in a game where everything speeds up. Players are jacked up, adrenaline is flowing, and it’s a different experience entirely than in practice. Also KOC does want to run those adaptive route combinations, where a receiver changes his route, based on what he sees the defense doing post snap. Thus chemistry as they call it, is ever evolving.

I wrote yesterday that in my opinion, pregnant women should be cautious with Tylenol use for the time being. It may turn out that Tylenol doesn’t have any real effect on their fetus, but why risk it? Better safe than sorry.
I agree. Why not be cautious? People want to freak out about it because Trump brought it up and “he’s not a doctor”. Well guess what? He didn’t find or research it, other “experts” did. He is just saying it might be worth avoidance.

The problem even with that perspective is it leaves out things like people hearing this and thinking to never use Tylenol because Tylenol=Autism. When again, even that study says it needs more studies done and many point out issues with correlation/causations issues with said study. If you have a very high fever or the child does Tylenol has been used to help bring that fever down and the risks caused by high fever pose much higher risk for negative outcomes than using Tylenol. So this is the problem with the whole situation of Trump just saying, just don’t use it. He shouldn’t say that. He literally doesn’t know how to say the word of what he’s talking about, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about in this case and he should have let someone qualified explain it because there is a real risk in telling pregnant people and parents of infants to not do anything to treat high fevers with Tylenol.
I find that take somewhat poorly considered Edge. There is NO problem with NOT taking Tylenol, so if “people hearing this and thinking to never use Tylenol because Tylenol=Autism” I’m fine with that. It harms no one, and potentially actually ends up being healthier.
There are other choices in life than taking Tylenol. I don’t ascribe to the position that Tylenol is some life-saving drug the world cannot do without. Severe fevers are deadly for sure, and we all know that in an emergency, medical personnel are going to do what is necessary to save lives.
Tylenol is not a life necessity, or miracle drug we cannot live without.. IMO.
Oh it absolutely could harm the fetus/young child. If a parent hears, “never take Tylenol because your kid gets autism” then the pregnant mother has a super high fever and instead of taking Tylenol to bring that fever down they don’t take it… that could ABSOLUTELY have really bad consequences for that child. If Trump either sounded like he knew what he was talking about or he had someone who did who said something like, “There have been possible links to Tylenol and Autism for unborn children parents be extra precautious and talk to your doctor about the possible risks vs benefits.” Cool, no harm, there. But just to say, don’t ever take Tylenol when first this connects to Autism are super flimsy AT BEST and not taking Tylenol with a super high fever is way riskier than taking Tylenol that could absolutely hurt a fetus.
Long before there was tylenol or advil for that matter seemed like people got along quite well by just using aspirin. Pretty good for fevers and general aches and pains.

None of that really matters. What matters is Tylenol is not a drug we cannot do without, and it could be affecting the increased rate of autism.
Why don’t you give a shit about real people and children who could be harmed by Tylenol use during pregnancy? This is my major issue. Trump and none of his admin said anything about using common sense or talking with your doctor about this info, just DON’T TAKE IT! And saying that can absolutely 100%, harm fetuses because people get fevers, and fevers plus pregnancy poses a big risk to mothers and the fetuses. Just like heart surgery could kill you but it poses less risk at times then no surgery so most people elect for the surgery. Again, this is basic stuff.

Trump as the President, has raised a serious concern about the incredible rise in the rate of autism. He is addressing that for our health. He has seen information from studies that indicate there could be some correlation between Tylenol use in pregnancy and autism. He is being practical, pragmatic, and prudent by advising the Nation of this concern. You act like he’s ordering everyone not to use Tylenol. Stop with the politics. The President did a great thing by advising the Nation they should consider not using a drug that could affect their children negatively.

Because my issue is Trump said, “Don’t take it, just don’t take it.” Not, “Be careful, consider this data, only take it in extreme situations.” Trump’s words made this extreme because he made it absolute. What he said is NOT practical, pragmatic, or prudent. It may be come from a practical, pragmatic, and prudent place of caring… but what he said can and I would bet will absolutely hurt fetuses of mothers who get a high fever because that’s not super extreme that absolutely happens. And I would bet a lot of money there are mothers who say, no to Tylenol to bring that fever down and that poses major risks.
The President expressed his opinion, which I love. He’s concerned. He takes it seriously. He speaks out. I don’t want a President who does nothing, says nothing, and let’s people suffer, or die without taking any action at all.
Apparently, that’s what you want in a President.
His advice is practical, pragmatic, and prudent. Don’t take Tylenol if you’re pregnant. He’s right, and he did the right thing.
And this coming from a hard-left leaning Harvard University, but certain people don’t want to believe it and say Trump is making it up.
Additionally, Tylenol themselves said in a tweet in 2017 that they don’t recommend using it during pregnancy. Not that it causes autism, but there obviously has to be reasons they say that.

People with aches and pains and headaches, brought on by pregnancy. My wife was miserable in each of her three pregnancies, but she never took anything. She was the ultimate “nature girl” back in the late 70’s. Never took any kind of meds.

Last night was a fun time in the fields. The spreaders on the back of the combine stopped working, and the whole back end filled up with chaff. Thank God it didn’t start on fire. I had to basically stand inside the combine’s anus and pull out a pile of chaff the size of Jabba the Hut.

It’s a genuine concern. Input costs being greater than what you get is possible. I have not really asked my brother about any of it.
He might be affected a bit less because part of his crop is “seed” beans, which go to a seed company. I believe they contract for a price on those before planting.
So I think he is about 50/50 diversified that way on soybeans.

Yes, we were able to fix it ourselves. My brother had replaced the bearings on the shaft driving one of the spreaders this summer. He must not have gotten the bolts tight because they worked loose, and the shaft shifted out of position.
Wonder of wonders, that shaft is actually easily accessible and you don’t even have to contort into an origami person with a wrench taped on the end of a stick with three angles in it to reach any of the bolts.
I mean… those bolts have to take on a shit ton of stress. How tight must one get them? lol.
