Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Hump day!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, and we actually have some football news to talk about since the Underwear Olympics are upon us, and NFL coaches and GMs are spewing all sorts of BS during their pressers. Ah well, at least it’s something. I also realize that I feel better with our former GM out of the picture for this draft, I’m hoping his absence will lead to better decision making by the team during the upcoming draft.
Vikings and NFL News
Vikings.com provides some takeaways from Kevin O’Connell’s & Rob Brzezinski’s combine media session. Also, version 3.0 of their Vikings 2026 Mock Draft Tracker.
The Vikings announced some updates to their coaching staff, from Vikings.com.
From The Sporting News, Miami would like to trade Tua Tagovailoa, but chances of that are low considering Tua’s contract, so the Dolphins may wind up cutting the QB and eating a ton of dead cap.
49ers GM John Lynch says the team is making progress regarding Trent Williams’ contract, per NFL.com.
From NFL.com, Browns GM Andrew Berry leaves the door open for Deshaun Watson to compete for the starting QB job. Yeah, sure, okay.
]CBS Sports provides highlights of updates provided by GMs and head coaches in their combine pressers.
Media Selection
Here’s a cool series put together by Ironclad and Shawn Ryan, two of my favorite channels. Here’s part I to get you started, lots of food for thought. Enjoy!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
Not that I’m counting or anything…
I am counting
Someone mentioned sloppy 2nds….I am sure this has already been shared on this classy site, but this is sloppy 2nds to the extreme. It doesn’t specify how many hours….but those had to be some pretty quick guys….
Bonnie Blue Breaks Record for Having Unprotected Sex With 400 Men | Us Weekly
Yes, yes it is….makes me throw up just a bit.
Sloppy 400th?
Have to wonder if that guy understood what he was getting into.
I don’t think that’s a record, I remember reading about an actress named Houston and the Houston 500, MT do not Google
I think the key here was unprotected sex….she was actively trying to get pregnant….and was successful.
This is going to make the MLB even more unwatchable. Why not just go to the ABS already full time?
that is hilarious.
No need for an umpire. Just show green light for strikes and be done with it. Instant feedback, no need for human error.
Man, that is a bad plate umpire.
Sure beats arguing with the umpire I guess.
ABS should be full time, umps should be on hand to monitor the other human aspects of the game, safe and out (which is reviewable as well) foul or fair (also reviewable) and issues warnings, ejections, bocks etc. Balls and Strikes should never be in question at this point.
It would definitely help with the watchability of the game.
I used to watch every Twins game I could. Because of analytics and strikeouts and shifts and the pitch clock, etc., the game hasn’t been worth it to me in a long time.
I think the recent changes have made the game MUCH MORE watchable. Teams can’t over-shift, every reliever that enters must face at least 3 batters – no more constant pitching changes. The pitch clock is a God-send. Can’t throw to first base over and over and over again. Game time has reduced from 3 hours and 4 minutes to 2 hours and 36 minutes….huge improvement.
Maybe I’ll have to start watching again then. If only the Pohlad-run Twins were worth watching….
That is where I am at. The game is more watchable, the team is not.
Pretty much, same here. I vowed in 2014 that id never give that team another dime until they but a legit contender on the field, they almost did in 2023. Then they ruined it. 12 years later, still going strong. I can watch the games for free anyway.
That’s the tough part. I’d have to pay for it, and I don’t think the team is worth it right now.
Yes, i agree. Removing human error and speed up the game, seems like a no brainer
Me and Mrs Surly have been married 37 years as of today.
I love her, but she is killing me with never wanting to move to a warmer climate.
Congrats!!! that’s a rare thing these days
Getting killed by his wife? I hope that is a rare thing for my sake.
Wow Surly! Guess what? 24 years for me and my wife today!
Big congrats to you and your wife! 37 years is amazing!!!
Send her our condolences!
She has stood beside me a long time. Being a military spouse, or the spouse of any first responder or law enforcement officer is the toughest job in the world. Why she stayed with me I’ll never begin to know. I’m just thankful that I still get to be with her every day.
I figured she stayed because of your dazzling good looks and multi million dollar bank account.
Laughing… well there is that…
Agreed. My wife put up with a lot of deployments and basically raised our kids by herself. Plus all the daily grind of housework, yard work, repairs, activities, etc. I am still amazed at how she did it all.
Plus, she went to college, became a Registered Nurse and worked a full time job. Amazing!
Always honor that woman. I know you will.
Congrats!
Thanks. This is my second marriage. First wife hated the military. She left me during Desert Shield/Desert Storm for a guy 12 years younger than her. He left her as soon as we divorced.
Happy anniversary NLNVF, 24 years is a good run – keep it going!!
Thanks NoDak. She is an amazing person. No idea why she fell for me, but I’m thankful she did.
Congrats! Can’t believe she puts up with you!
Congrats man. You are just behind me by a little. My wife and I will be married 38 years in July.
Keep working on her for the move. Maybe just start spending a month of the winter down south. That might turn her around.
And remember to go south, not west. Montana is horrible. It’s been absolutely frigid here, there’s grizzly bears and mountain lions hunting people over every hill, poisonous snakes everywhere, summers are so hot you can’t even go outside. The humidity is unspeakable. And don’t even get me started on how boring the scenery is. Makes Nebraska look good.
this^
And the logo stands for nolledge
These days it stands for: not relevant in years…..
but Nebraska is a fine state.
Good people.
Montana is gorgeous, but too cold for me.
Good strategy. In a couple of years we will be able to rent a place in FL for a month each winter. I am hoping that eventually she will want out of MN even though family lives here.
Fear not, time is on your side. As one gets older cold weather is far more unpleasant on the body.
And since she is a golfer, you can play all year round.
Congrats!
30 years coming up for us.
Big Day in the Nodak household….we are closing on an investment/retirement/winter home in the Phoenix area today…. I think I may have mentioned that before….My son is getting married in May and starting law school at ASU next fall, they will need a place to live. Rent is too damn high….buying a house and renting it to him…When he is out of law school they can buy it from us, we can retire there, or we can continue to rent it out.
Nice!
I do have family in both AZ and FL. Either works for me, but I like the tax situation in FL more, and I do like the water.
That will be pretty awesome. Now you have a party house!
You can host Skoloholic Ragers!
I need to be in bed by 8:30, though…
Ha! Me too, especially if I am drinking alcohol, I usually flame out by 8:30
Very cool. Beautiful area. Lived there for a year.
That’s awesome. Your son and his wife won’t mind living in a hotel for a week when my wife and I come to Phoenix for vacation?
They have two extra rooms…..I understand he intends on charging a bottle of Pendleton per night for vacationing house guests (he is his father’s son…..)
Pendleton? Isn’t that exercise equipment? How do you bottle that?
I don’t know, but it comes in glass bottles and when poured in a glass of ice and slowly sipped it is a fine way to end your day.
It is fantastic.

now I am thirsty…..
Congratulations!
Maybe she would let you install a sauna?
we have one. Like it, but I would still rather never see snow again
Is that a rainbow umbrella?
just searched for Beach gif. Did not really pay attention.
Congrats!
37 years!! Wow! well done.
Congrats on the sex
AFTER the draft.
his title should be “overpaid Nerd that should never impact player selection”

Happy Hump Day!
I am still not over the no-football thing.
February is the Tuesday of months. It is just kind of there…
Honestly, my interest in the NFL is waning. I didn’t watch the Super Bowl and guess what? I didn’t miss it.
I’ve watched the 1st two races, this year. I still don’t like how they split up the race. It takes away a lot of the pit strategy from years ago.
Depends on the race. Some of them it adds some and takes away the long middle follow the leader portion of the old races. Gives guys a chance to short pit , split pit, etc. I like watching the side drafting strategies and such too. They’re at COTA this weekend so totally different than the last two tracks. Daytona, followed by the newly high banked Atlanta and now on to a road course.
I will be watching, I loved the road courses.
I have learned to appreciate other teams more than “my” team, so I like vegetating out to them.
Noon games are my least favorite games.
If the Vikings aren’t playing at noon, then noon games are a great background noise for taking a nap.
I am always conking out around 1 p.m. no matter who is playing. 3 p.m. games are my sweet spot.
Happy Hump day,
