3:00 PM kickoff. Today is the official almost start of the JJ McCarthy era. I know preseason games do not mean anything, but this feels like it means a lot. I will be golfing so I am recording the game and watching later tonight. I expect good things this season. On paper, the team upgraded quite a bit. Now it has to work on the field. Aside from deciding who will be the backup to JJ this season, the team needs to figure out depth at WR, TE and CB. I think the rest of the roster is set. Oh, the kicker better decide to not suck.

I thought Shedeur Sanders looked good yesterday. At least, as good as any QB from Cleveland can ever look. I expect that they will name him the starting QB by mid season. Who knows though… Browns are always finding ways to mess things up. Scary injury in the Detroit/ATL game. Hope the guy is ok. Never like seeing the ambulance on the field.

Rickie did it… finished in a tie for 6th, and got into the top 50 to move on to next week. Ended up in 48th place. Of course he will have to play out of his mind to get into the top 30 to get into the Tour Championship at East Lake, but he got it done this week.

Keenum is now 8/10 for 80 yards and 2 TD’s in the 3rd Quarter. Not even halfway through. Playing very well.
Keenum with a four yard TD pass after Miami fumbled the ball at their own 3 yard line. Bears take the lead 17-14 over Miami.

Case Keenum leading a nice 80 yard drive for the Bears going 3/3 for 45 yards, but threw an incomplete pass on 4th and 2 at the Miami 5.

Howell played well yesterday, keeping in mind he went against the second stringers, and pretty vanilla scheme. Still, he threw the ball with conviction. McCarthy got 13 plays, threw the ball seven times, completed four, and scrambled for 8 yards and a first down on a fourth down play. Addison had to reach behind him to grab one pass then dove to catch another, and McCarthy threw high to wideout Lucky Jackson on a third down for an incompletion. He had one great throw to Addison on an 18 yard out.
Overall it was a decent, successful outing. The defense started a little poorly, but definitely slammed the door on the Texans in the second half.
A lot of things to like about the game.

About as good as we hoped except for Moores injury.
Looks like Rondale Moore may be out for the season. MRI coming today. I’m hoping it’s not as serious as they think. KOC called it “heartbreaking”.

Of all the things I dislike about preseason, I really dislike the guest in the booth. All they do is talk to the guest and mostly ignore the game.
