Vikings News
Nothing crazy happening, and that is probably a good thing. No DUI’s, nobody from the team in jail. No boat rides.
I do not expect the QB2 to be decided until after the draft, and maybe they are rolling with Rypien. I am fine with that, since JJ is never getting injured again.

It is fun watching teams like the Browns in complete disarray. Good job by the ownership of demanding they get Watson. Heh. Schadenfreude is real.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
Pohlads 0-3. Feel free to spend $20 on a 3 day old hot dog and a beer.
At least they are consistent.
And it is different from last year when they got our hopes up first.
Thought Marl Levin’s show last night was particularly good at addressing the recent messaging snafu, judges and other current items. Some good guests tonight so expect another good one – he seldom disappoints.
I have seen Assante Samuel, or Jaire Alexander, or Rasul Douglas to the Vikings reports lately. If they can make the math work out then strengthen the CB or Safety rooms I would be all for it.

Yep, would be nice. Dunno if KAM wants to spend the money on one of those guys though.
I have no idea what his plans are either.
But I can see that our DBs could use a little depth as could our TEs. RBs? WR? Maybe. Quality depth anywhere else is always a positive.
If he has a plan for our weaker areas then we can go BPA during the draft and not be locked into picking due to need.
Honestly, the team has addressed their biggest weaknesses on the team (in my opinion) already. The two O-linemen and two D-linemen we acquired makes us much better. Happy with those moves.
I said nothing about addressing their greatest Needs.
I mentioned adding depth in some areas.
Laughing… your comment only spurred my thoughts. I wasn’t contradicting you SoCal. Just putting my thoughts out there.
‘Just putting my thoughts out there’
Your thoughts are certainly ‘Out There’ occasionally.
#grin
I saw the purported chain of custody for the Asante Samuel rumor… anything could be possibly true…
As for JA… he might come cheap just to shove it down the pukers throat twice a year…
As for JA… he might come cheap just to shove it down the pukers throat twice a year…
That would be cool
Fuck Jerry Alexander. Almost as bad as Waaron for a locker room.
That is certainly a consideration.
#1 it would piss off FTP.
#2 Flo would have to be able to ‘control him’.
#3 It would have to make sense $$-wise.
#4 His health/scheme fit would have to good.
RIP. Richard Chamberlain, the actor known for his roles in “The Thorn Birds” and “Shogun,” has died at 90-years-old.
I enjoyed Shogun, the book more than the movie though.
Agreed. Book is very good.
Original TV show/mini series is ok. I actually enjoyed the remake more.
the book rocks, I did not like the miniseries
“A good book is better than a great movie.”
I’m back from the Bahamas where it was generally sunny and with highs in the upper 70s to around 80. Today in western Wisconsin it is going to be a high of 37 and it is going to rain all day with a chance of sleet and snow later in the day. Ugh.
Welcome back VP. I’m enjoying nice weather in Tampa Florida. It’s currently partly cloudy and 75 degrees. Supposed to get some rain, starting in a half hour or so.
I grew up in Santa Barbara, great weather was the norm.
Once I joined the Army and was stationed in places with ‘weather’ I found it fascinating. I have little interest in going to warm places just to sit on the beach.
Opposite of the Norm is my norm it seems.
Lots of folks like the four seasons weather. One reason seniors like me tend to migrate to warmer climates is the natural slowing of your metabolism as you age, so you’re not as “warm” as you were when you were young. Also my diabetes has made my circulation a little weaker. Thus, I prefer the ambient temperature be a little more on the warm side. My wife runs hot though, as she works out all the time. It benefits me, because she wears very little clothing around the house. Grin.
Playing golf year round is also a draw of course.
After the Army I moved to the ‘high desert’ and The Teacher grew up there. Both of us like the seasons we find here. The high desert only had 8 months of hot, three months of cold and a month of in between.
Actually it is very similar here to what was on the Tehachapi plateau were I worked at the prison.
We are planning a trip to Oregon and Calif next month and we will head down to visit my mom. She is in her 90s now so there won’t be too many opportunities left.
My mom died at 92. I was able to spend her last two days with her, as I had returned from a deployment, and I always visited my mom when I came home. She lived in Delaware, near Rehoboth Beach. She was on dialysis her last 8 years, and one day she went for her treatment, and told them afterwards, I won’t be back again. She died 4 days later.
My Nana (grandmother) signed a Do Not Resuscitate and stopped taking her meds at 99. She went into a coma and into a hospice. I was able to get to SB to spend a little time with her before she passed two days later.
I wished me Aunt (caregiver) had showed more care for her during her last days but she was very peaceful in Hospice. She had stated that she ‘just wanted to be with her husband and the rest of her family’.
It’s great your Nana died peacefully, and comfortably. Obviously it’s what we all want for our loved ones.
It’s not like you hear of many folks wanting to retire to Alaska.
Just seems no one’s circulation gets better with age and warm is your friend. Cold is just not fun.
Spring and fall are always nice, but 70 degrees is still preferable to 50.
I agree that Minn/ND is beyond the pale, A younger me couldn’t even handle it.
Idaho weather does not compare with Santa Barbara but the rest of Idaho has Commifornia beat hands down.
Yep. I like the beach, the sun, and the lack of snow, very much.
I am 61 years old, and every year the cold bothers me more and more.
I still doubt we ever move, since both adult kids live in the Twin Cities.
I would move tomorrow if I could convince my wife.
For what it’s worth, it doesn’t get better with age.
That is my concern.
I notice barometric pressure changes in my knees and back and fingers.
Any weather system can cause pain.
Cold makes it worse.
Worked outdoors in Minny for 30 years. When i retired it never bothered me. Kinda enjoy the variation now. i can pick my spots when to do things.
Cruise or just a trip to the Bahamas?
Either way, I am jealous.
Cruise. My wife was on spring break and her teacher sister had the same week for spring break. We decided on a cruise.
Not seeing much on the “Tesla Takedown” movement, that happened globally yesterday.
Saw an article that said in N.J. the pro Trump and Musk supporters outnumbered the anti Tesla protester’s 20-1.
Like it.
I read this:
Ken Martin, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is saying “We’ve got the right message… What we need to do is connect it back with the voters.” Similarly, Gov. Tim Walz, the party’s vice-presidential nominee, dismissed attempts to court Trump voters, stating, “I don’t think we’re going to win over those 77 million that voted for Donald Trump… I’m concerned with the 90 million who stayed home.”
90 million voters that stayed home? I don’t know about that. Maybe he’s referring to all the illegal aliens he wants to vote.
Illegals, convicts, underaged, dead, in metal hospitals, etc.
Those 150 year old people are bound to support the dims after DOGE took away their SS money aren’t they?
How much support could they give anyone.
They would be in even worse shape than FJB.
I’m not so sure mr biden would outperform anyone on the 150 year old SS list…
This is why they’ll drift into nothingness. They’re in denial. They think it has nothing to do with what they believe and preach.
America, meanwhile, is wising up to their crap, seeing through their media manipulation more than ever, and they want the America they grew up in.
I say it’s good that they’re doubling down.
Walz is in a category with several other democrats that the more they say, the better off Republicans are.
I used to think our side did a lot of stupid things, but the dems far left crowd is in full self destruct mode. Let em keep talking.
I love how they say “We’ve got the right message… “
OMG…
Maybe someone thought Putin’s car was a Tesla.
Counter Tesla rage folks showed up in New Jersey today. More than 300 Trump and Musk supporters showed up to oppose the “Day of Rage” against Tesla.
300 normal people vs 1000+ people with TDS or EMDS?
I’m not sure how many folks turned out on Tesla Rage Day.
Actually here we had about 200 ‘Patriot Protester’ and about 20 ‘Anti Musk/Tesla’ protesters from Seattle.
Hell, let’s burn all electric cars and get back to the muscle back gas guzzlers.
Drill baby, drill!
I’d like that Elon buys Harley Davidson and those lunatics try to damage Harleys in a biker bar parking lot 😊
Putin is missing a limo… apparently it exploded?
They don’t know who was in it yet…
Heard there were no injuries or fatalities.
Not that they are willing to admit anyway.
We know Putin is worried about being taken out. Earlier this year, we were warned any attempt to assassinate Putin would be met with a nuclear response.
But ‘being taken out’ is the normal retirement plan for Russian leaders since Tsar Nickolas II.
I meant by a foreign agent.
So if we hire a local we are good??
I’m reminded of Yuri Andropov… it took quite a while to admit he had passed…
they wouldn’t admit it very quickly in any case…
So until he shows up on camera..,
It’s officially spring in Delaware.
Had to cut the grass for the first time in 2025.
why don’t you swing north a bit if you are free tomorrow
You want him to ‘swing your way’?
No Kink Shaming I guess.
Ha ha!!!! I don’t have to cut my grass at all for the next 2 (Count ‘em!) TWO YEARS!!!
My surgeon said that the right rotator cuff is this year and the left is next year…
So HA!
kinda…
or not…,
Double rotator cuff surgery.
Feels like you need a straight jacket.
I’m not THAT crazy! Still gotta be able to eat!
Those are rather tough surgeries. extensive PT and recovery. Good luck.
Thanks!😊
Almost summer here. Is that Joe Biden peeking over the fence?
Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert cartoon, has a simple ploy for Trump and the Republicans when dealing with the press, Democrats, and the angry activists who have invaded Republican town halls.
Adams has founded a new government agency: the ‘Department of Imaginary Concerns,’ which will take all the whining and complaints from the Left.
Press 1 for Russia, Russia, Russia. Press 2 for Climate Change. Press 3 for for Social Security, Medicare, and medicaid cuts. Etc, Etc, Etc.
Brilliant.
Hypotheticals are all the Left has at this point.
Try to stoke fears of what ‘might happen’ to scare voters into opposing DJTs agenda.
They really have not learned much from the last election.
I agree SoCal. Hateful, fear mongering rhetoric is all they have. They are fundamentally wrong on every issue, and want us to believe they are the better choice to Trump. Saw where Hillary said “The Trump approach is dumb power. Instead of a strong America using all our strengths to lead the world and confront our adversaries, Mr. Trump’s America will be increasingly blind and blundering, feeble and friendless” .
Trump wields power brilliantly. He has the whole world by the balls right now, and he is pushing them all around. Something the Dem’s haven’t done well since JFK. What Hillary says here is the actual truth about her and the Dems. They are the dumb ones. They are the ones who are blind, blundering, and feeble. She is the one who cried uncontrollably after losing to Trump, and could not face her supporters on election night.
No Hillary, you’re the weak loser this country does not want, or deserve.
I love it when Trump finds a popular, common sense issue and supports it. That forces the Left to oppose it since they can’t support anything he is for.
Border, Men in girls sports, Crime, Government waste, Lawfare, Immigration, on and on. The woke keep getting pushed further and further into their box of losing issues.
They do, and beyond just not supporting the Trump initiatives, actively fighting them. I think once the economy gets going, like it did under Trump’s previous administration, the Dem’s are cooked for good and all.
‘the Dem’s are cooked for good and all’
I am looking forward to it.
So kinda like USAIDS without any money?
Laughing… yep
So Brad posted a Friday Thread on Friday afternoon? Did he get the scheduled time wrong?
Looks like he spent some time putting together but it only has 3 comments currently.
I am not going to comment on it since Technology is not, nor has it ever been, my friend.
Hawaii Gov. Josh Green (D-HI) sparked outrage after making a disturbing comment about tennis star Novak Djokovic. Green expressed hope that someone would “hit him with an overhead” and “show him what it means to hurt somebody” for playing tennis with Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Djokovic of course is from Serbia, and has nothing to do with our political landscape. Yet we have an American Governor, calling for violence against him for playing tennis with the HHS secretary.
I’m so sick of the angry, vitriolic, and violent left.
the left are indeed hate-filled…
That is all that they have it seems.
At least their leadership and they stoke the hate into the fringe base.
Has more to do with not being vaccinated.
An immunologist from UCLA, now on his own, is claiming that the increases in cancer among young people, is/was likely due to Covid and the Covid vaccine.
Still amazing how much hate there is from these left wingers over Covid.
Lifer was over the top with the vaccine mandate “for the good of all”.
it was ridiculous.
May I just have the government supplied brain chip and get it over with?

Since Surley has indicated that JJ will never get hurt again, we hardly need more than practice squad player as QB 2.
Laughing. Makes total sense.
and that is what we have so far…..
I mean, once someone gets hurt they hardly ever get hurt again.
That’s a fact jack.
I am allowed my delusions. The Purple Trauma is real.
‘The Purple Trauma is real’
Yes we all have it, although it might manifest itself in different ways.
