I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend. Kiddo and I plan to do a lot of camping and fishing, the fish are still biting on the river and the weather is supposed to cooperate, so we might as well take advantage.

She’s doing better. Only two life threatening issues left: if she falls, it’s a death sentence or if she throws a clot (mechanical heart valve) with all this transitioning of her blood thinner. She’s at a rehab center now, doing pretty well mentally, but still physically weak and not very mobile. She’ll be released Wed., but home care required 24/7. We’re trying to find some home health aids to help.
I stayed at her condo with her when she had her heart surgery, but I didn’t have to be there every minute of day and night, could run errands and such.
Well that is rough but I hope she gets through it and makes a full recovery soon.
Can’t complain really, it’s a miracle she survived that accident, and she seems to still have her mental capacity. Hopefully she can get enough mobility back to function independently (she can walk with a walker, but can’t get up or down by herself yet).
In 4 to 6 weeks she’ll have to have surgery again to put her skull cap back on. The worst part of that is she’ll have to be weaned off her blood thinner again and then gradually transition back on that. She’ll need lots of help until that whole process is over, but definitely could have been a worse outcome.
One other thing that makes the falling thing so scary is, even before the accident, she doesn’t have any peripheral vision. She can’t see her feet or the floor without looking down, and they don’t want her to look down when she walks for fear she’ll be more likely to face plant.
She also has two cats, and we can’t find anyone to take them temporarily or anywhere to board them. Lots of those places went out of business and the few that are left are full with long waiting lists. Terrified she’ll trip over them.
Cats can be very problematic, sneaky and quick.

Good luck on the marathon. I ran it…once. It was a piece of cake until I got to lemon drop hill. Driving over it in a car, you barely notice it. But when I got there running, it looked like fucking Everest. The remainder of the race was sucked for me. Old ladies on the sidewalk with strollers were passing me. Babies were crawling faster than I was running. You’ve ran marathons before, I believe. So, my only advice is if you are interested there is a boat cruise (vista view, vista something) that goes up shore a ways that is nice for sight seeing. They have different packages including a dinner or family package. Right across a chanel from the boat place is adventure zone. They got lazer tag, batting cages, arcade, mini golf, pizza.

As our 40×60 shouse (40×40 shop) was built as a place to keep a couple of toys and a one room studio apartment to stay at when we visited Glendive we have a serious lack of room now that we were coerced into moving here full time. We’re going to have a 30×40 addition (master bed/bath and office) built onto the shouse some time this summer and fall but I talked my beloved into letting me put up a 45×66 metal shop to put my shit into, cuz I am a car whore and have a boat now etc…we have significantly downsized all of our crap but it will be nice not to feel like we are living in a cargo hold.

Actually the site is functional. The Z key is not “needed” folks can see what has been posted and respond to comments. Z key functionality is an enhancement that makes the user experience better. When that function is delivered all will be happier but the site provides plenty of punch already.

I didn’t expect to make it this long
A lot of my boys actually didn’t. I had an intramural basketball team my senior year (’99) in HS (after a bunch of us decided to to play varsity) and three of the guys from that 8 person team aren’t alive anymore.
what happened to them?
One got hit by a train shortly after graduation. Another died suddenly of a heart aneurysm at 30 (sucks cuz he had small kids/family). The last one got in a really bad car accident at age 20 then had a stroke during surgery that left him basically a vegetable (couldn’t walk, talk, eat, etc.) He died of pneumonia a couple years ago at 38. It was so weird going to his funeral because it was like he had two different lives. One pre-accident (the time I knew him) and then the one after. Many of the people I talked to at the funeral never even knew he was a regular functioning human (great offensive tackle in HS) the first 20 years of his life. They just assumed he was always like that. Was awful to think about.

I’d like to see them blow the team up. We’ve had too many players with us for too long, who have the miasma of losing about them. Our vets are conditioned to be .500. Half the league is playing .500 or below ball. Now is the time to ascend, but we can’t get out of our way.
Our best bet is that KOC is a wunderkind who can coach around these things. At the end of the day, we know what vets like Cousins, Theilen, Cook, Hendricks, Smith are going to give us. They’ll get their numbers, but they won’t get us through the playoff gauntlet.
I think they are going to do that regardless as there’s a strong chance 3 of those 4 are gone next season. The issue for me is we need to get a rookie franchise qb. They need a couple strong drafts to rebuild the roster. Hopefully Cine and Booth can do something. I’m not sold on the rest. Later rd RB looks to be a decent value pick.

Cane, Tretter has been one of the elite pass protectors at the center position for over five years now. He hasn’t had a PFF pass blocking grade under 80 since his debut season in 2014 and he’s a good run blocker as well, even if he doesn’t move quite as quickly as he did a decade ago. Tretter dealt with some injuries early in his career, but he hasn’t missed a game or even a snap due to injury since 2016. So he’s damn good.
looking at the Vikings offense, they are returning all the starting skill position players from last year (with Irv Smith now healthy) and all but two O-line starters (Center and right guard) are solid. The receiving corps and RB positions (barring injury) are amongst the best in the league. Irv Smith is kind of a question mark, but I think he will actually be really good this year. Cousins is the most accurate passer in the league. Once again the only concerns on offense will be the center and the right guard. They are the only weak spots I see.
Maybe KO can scheme them not to suck.

Any coach worth even a hoot will cover Thielen in the red zone this year, which leaves us with little ammo to attack the Red Zone. Irv’s hands are not the best.
They’ve done that for years and all AT does is catch RZ TDs.

They’ll be doubling JJ more this year, Thielen will lose a step, they ain’t got no height on TE’s, and poof goes our already questionable red zone.

All but 7 were in the RZ and only 2 were over 35yds out. None over 45.

Didn’t know about the torn ACL in January (or maybe I did and forgot). They usually take a year or more to recover from, right?
He should be back before the season… form what I was reading but being up to speed is a whole different story.

As far as the ACL recover it’s not a year for the tendon specifically. With the advances in repairs and how little trauma there is to the site during the repair and how developed the recovery plans are it’s around 6-9 months based on the severity of the tear to rehab the injury. The issue is associated areas of the leg like hamstrings and such being under used and tight hence many players get hammy pulls and have other issues. So it’s a year typically for the player to feel “back to normal”.
No doubt he’s good… but to miss all of camp participation.. that is what will hurt him.
He’s gonna miss way more than just TC. He’ll be a PUP guy, so maybe Week 11…..
If he’s PUP 6 correct.
He will own us, period. Nobody expected him to be 100% before the season starts, thus why he went out of top 10. If he was 100% he was a top 5 pick guaranteed, period. Even the later 1st wr’s were reached for as it’s a key position
