I just got some new Asics Kayanos for $99. Usually, they are around $150.

Yep, Amazon, but ships from the Asics store. It might be last year’s model, which is why it’s a good price. I don’t care about that. I got the 28 version. I think they are up to 29 now, though.
I love the Asics Gel-Ventures, never tried the Kayanos. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the $99 price as well…
I wear the Gel-Kinsei. I absolutely love them, been wearing the Kinsei for probably close to a decade now. I am a very neutral runner, so I don’t need any extra arch support or anything, and the Kinsei is their best shoe for neutral runners.
I have a pair of Nimbus for everyday use. They are supposed to be a shoe for neutral folk, too, the salesman said.
Yep, Nimbus are good. I have a pair of Venture that I keep at work for walking, love ’em. I average around 9 miles a day walking, so I can’t just wear my dress shoes.

If you need arch support, then Kayano is the way to go.
I’m not sure I need a bunch of arch support. I’ve been wearing strictly Ventures the last like 6-7 years. Because they were the first shoes I found that were very comfortable for me and could last an entire coaching season.
If you’re a neutral runner & don’t need arch support, you should consider the Gel-Kinsei. They’re the Cadillac of the Asics line, very comfortable, also a bit spendy.
I don’t know enough about running tbh. I have done a lot of training, working out but all weight training for performance, sprints, speed work etc… never running for distance until recently. Really thinking about trying these out.

I dallied around with running for a long time but got more serious about it in the last couple of years.
It kind of feeds the competitive streak I got in me at an age when no one wants to play anymore. With running, I can always compete against myself and the clock, no matter what. Then there are always 5Ks around that I can go to and run among people.
I’m starting a specific 5K program this winter. I’m still slow, but it is still entertaining trying to improve.
5k is a good place to start. Stick with it, you’ll probably take off with it if you enjoy the running part. I think my favorite is the 10k. Half-marathons are fun, but few and far between for me.
Makes sense. I run a mile a few times a week mixed with doing 30-60 minutes of DDPY a few times a week. That shit is so effective.
I love running. It’s one of the few things I can do and really relax. It’s hard for me to settle down & just relax, unless I’m running, reading, or fishing. Those are my 3 things.
I’ve always found working out to be difficult if it wasn’t for a sport or for training for martial arts competitions etc… It hasn’t been till recently now in my middle 30s I can just workout for me lol. Started running and it’s not really relaxing yet during the process but I know I need to workout and be active to get to sleep. For me settling down comes after working out or I have been writing music and playing guitar/bass since middle school and recently drums. So engaging in music really helps as well.
Makes sense. One thing, don’t go running later in the afternoon or evening, it may inhibit sleep for a while. For me, I have to run before 5:00 or so, otherwise I’ll have trouble falling asleep at 9:00.
I had a pair of Gel-Ventures as my every-day shoes. They were the first Asics I bought, I remember. As soon as I put them on, it was a whole new world of foot comfort I did not know existed.

My wife started replacing my khaki shorts. I was not into it at first, but then she let me pick out a pair of shorts that had little sharks on them for a design. Then, at last, I could see a benefit in change.
T shirt tucked in, belt, and calf high socks. Jorts also acceptable.

Yes, I have some pronation. I used to have bad foot pain while running, like to the point where I had to stop after about three steps. Finally went to the foot doctor. He said try some Kayanos. Made a huge difference.
I used to balk at spending too much money on shoes, but then I saw the difference it can make. Totally worth it.
I also have nice inserts I put in. I’m currently running at 215 pounds, so I need some extra padding. Supposedly the Asics Superblast have a lot of foam. Maybe I will try them next, but I’ve had zero pain for quite awhile now.

She died of dementia and her eulogy was given by her oldest son, a Catholic Priest who is so well respected that the entire Nebraska Diocese attended the service to escort her to heaven. He mentioned that while she couldn’t speak or walk, she was frequently heard ‘humming the tune of the angels’

Not going to get into it, but I’m not a religious man although I was baptized Catholic and went thru catechism and First Communion. Not knocking ANYONE’s faith – think: 2nd to last paragraph of ‘Desiderata’
I’m envious of those that find comfort and peace in church – I never have. I’m the sheep that’s lost his way.
But those words ‘humming the tune of the angels…’ in that moment, and in those words…. I found peace.

My coworker is friends with Grandmaster Jager from Sheldon, IA. Really nice guy, apparently.
I was never that good at it, but I liked the challenge of trying to get flexible and have good form.
I was very little but I think so. My instructor was Jerry James who was an Olympic Kickboxer. Dude is in his like 60s or 70s and still ripped today. Tae Kwon Do gave me a lifelong hatred for kata. I was so happy that the Jujitsu I did didn’t involve kata.
I hated kata, too, when I took Tae Kwon Do.
All these little twirps and 80 pound women would do perfect katas and get awarded some belt way above their pay grade.
And then, they’d call Mr. Lowbelt in to hand them a whole pile of humility in fights or when they needed someone to kick some derriere in a tournament.
My Sensei when I did Jujitsu had a rule that your first tournament you had to do a kata to get the nerves out… I was fresh out of college football and did TKD tourneys growing up… I didn’t have to do a dumb kata. lol
Probably because Hunter hasn’t gotten the chance to do it himself much this season.

Eagles have the easiest remaining schedule by DVOA (doesn’t care about teams records), Vikes have the 10th easiest. Buffalo and KC have the 1st and 2nd hardest remaining schedule. Green Bay Fappers have the 7th hardest remaining lol

As of this point in the season I agree. Those 3 teams are the top of the NFC, id put Vikes 4th. Interesting to see how things pan out by the end of the season. If we play the Bills well enough to have a shot at winning the game (they wont) I might start to move the Vikes up. The Vikings have not beaten any good teams (Miami but that’s a bit of an abberation with their 3rd string QB and an injured Teddy at QB). The one time they played a good team they got summarily embarrased on National TV. It doesn’t really mean anything other than they are 7-1 and in position to win the North and host a playoff game. I guess we’ll see over the next month how they measure up with the better teams in the NFL but beating bad teams doesn’t mean you suck.

Mickey is the right guy Skolly. What other options do we have? Hometown Hero couldn’t make it work. We’re a stepping stone school now – we run the risk of whoever comes in, IF they turn it around will they then take off for a better gig? Not saying Mickey won’t do that but it’s less likely an outcome with him. He’s an elite recruiter, understands the tradition and history and is beloved by that locker room. Mickey’s the guy.

I met Bo his first year in Lincoln as D-Coordinator. Had a side-gig as Security for the team at the hotel the night before home games. Bo would often come down to the lobby at 2/3 am unable to sleep. Great guy. Very nice. He let me pick his brain regarding things like the 3/4 and 4/3 and being that he was Packers LB coach before coming to NU he would needle me a bit about being a Vikings fan. His volatility got him canned, but I’ll always fondly remember Bo.
I’ve always heard that he is a super nice guy outside of football and that he did a ton behind the scenes for the U of N. He was a psycho on the sidelines though. Also Faux Pelini was super funny.
Side note, at first I thought you meant Bo had a side gig as security.

Houston lost to the eagles by 12, Vikings lost to the eagles by 17, therefore Houston is better than the Vikings.
Vikes can go toe to toe with eagles now. Defense was a mess early in season but are rounding into form. Offense getting their feet under them too.
If we played eagles this Sunday, we may lose but guarantee its not by 17.

Hurts has a ton of potential.Strong arm, escapes pressure and can extend plays. The guy could be a Lamar/ Russel Wilson or he could be a complete bust.
I like him more then most of the QBs that might fall into the Vikings pick range just for the huge potential he offers.
I just don’t see Fromm as an upgrade over Kirky boy and would rather roll the dice with Hurts. Plus, I think we could get Hurts later in the draft.

Here is a scenario that I think might be correct. Vikings beat the Cowboys and Giants. If of of those 2 teams ties the Eagles in the NFCE and win the tie-breaker for Division Champ, we would own the tiebreakers with either the Giants or Cowboys and get the #1 seed?
Yeah. If there’s a three way tie lets say 3 of us are 13-4 then it goes to conference wins I believe too.
