The roster cuts continue to roll in, and there are smatterings of trades around the rest of the league. As of this writing, there has still been no movement of Alexander Mattison, which is one potential Vikings trade that continues to loom. We’ll know what the Vikings’ final 53 man roster will be at 3:00 this afternoon (central time). We’ll do our best to update the roster move tracker throughout the day, I expect today to be quite busy as the Vikings have another 20 players to trim from the roster. I like Weezie’s moves so far since he took over. He had a good draft, minus one bad trade (which has been completely overblown), and he’s made solid moves that have put the team in a better future position in addition to improving the team. We’re much better off than we were with Wreck, IMO. Low bar, I know.

Yepper. A bit easier with a D lineman, but some of the other positions have a steeper learning curve.
Watts about the only surprise. W/BBL coming in it saves millions. Depth is better but still terrible. Let’s hope we can start to get to competitive after this season. Maybe be a 500 team next season and actually compete in 24. Greasy Adolf’s drafts need to get much better.
You say so many dumb things, it’s impossible to narrow things down to the Top 10 Dumbest Kodiak Comments, but that statement might make the list.
For starters, anyone who thinks they can effectively grade a draft before year 2 or 3 of the draft class is dumb. That said, we can contrast some historical stats with some early indications to get some idea as to the quality of this most recent draft.
On average, maybe 20% of drafted players ever start or make a significant contribution to an NFL roster over an extended period of time. Less than 10% become great. So, with 10 picks in the 2022 draft, if the Vikings land two guys in the “20% group”, with one of them in the “10% group”, it’s an average draft. Anything more than that would be above-average.
At first blush, I like our odds of this being a solid class. All of Kwesi’s first 5 picks have a good chance to reach/exceed the 20% benchmark if they stay healthy (this includes Cine, Booth, Ingram, Asamoah and Evans). Not to mention Chandler who had a great preseason, nor any of the other 3 picks who, at least for now, have made the initial roster.
Again, either way, it’s too early to say for sure at this point, but for you to drone on and on about how Kwesi (P.S. can we stop the stupid nicknames?) needs to get better just further exposes your bias and ignorance.
