Yeah I’m thoroughly confused because the tax tables I look at show the taxation rate getting progressively higher such that your marginal tax rate gets higher the more income you earn. That can’t be right as I hear the wealthy don’t pay their fair share and once they do all the earmarks will be free!
I’m for regressive taxation… the lazier you are, the higher your tax rate.

Dawson County is awesome. I feel like even though I knew some 300+ providers and about as many ancillary staff in Billings, I never encountered them out and about in the big city. Now in Glendive it takes me 20 minutes to get to the milk aisle cuz everyone wants to stop and chat. I can take a piss at the end of my driveway or strip down naked while the wife hoses me off after a day of yardwork on the tractor and no one to be horrified by the sight. Choco and I can strike off in any particular direction across our pastures and no worries about stray dogs or picking up his poop. Got a little jon boat now and am slowly learning the ropes out on the Yellowstone.
I had to break out my inner Dave Semenko last night…we have a big concrete pad and piles of steel ribs and sheeting for a shop but the shop guy told me they wouldn’t be here until mid September. That doesn’t work as the cows need to move into adjacent pasture by late September and we need to have all that piled up steel gone, new fences run, and cattle guard in place before the cows come home. I hate getting into it with people but good ol’ enforcer Semenko can take the contractor to task with breaking his promises.

I’ve come to the conclusion that North Dakotans have more money than they know what to do with.
One thing I was taught at an early age is if you are driving through small town Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, etc you had better slow down to the posted absurd speed limit as every little village has a cop waiting behind the Tastee Freez sign to collect funds for the LE coffer. Three times last week I watched a ND plated vehicle get lit up on the 40 and 55 mph stretches on Hwy 16 b/w GDV and Sidney (presumptively heading to their McMansions on the Bakken), and it is rare to see a ND vehicle contain themselves to the 65 mph limit on the open stretches of that particular highway.
This morning a ND plate passed me on the 35 mph “Main street” near the hospital right in front of city PD parked nonchalantly in the shade. Stupid is as stupid does, or else North Dakotans are generous contributors to Montana LE.

The reason bills must be voted on to be passed is because elected officials are supposed to represent us, part of that is by making a choice based on what they believe is best for their constituents. An example would be any of the massive spending bills recently. Yes, all Americans and most politicians representing them would love to give $$ to assist in child care, but when the same bill has 10 billion going to gender studies in Africa or 100 million to a museum in New York it’s not reasonable to vote yay.
