It’s game day! The Minnesota Vikings take on the Arizona Cardinals today at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. After a long road trip where the Vikings managed to win 3 times in 3 tries, the Vikings are back at home where the crowd noise can make a huge difference.
I’m looking for the Vikings offense to take another step forward. I’m looking for Sam Darnold to continue to avoid turnovers, especially in the red zone. I’m also hoping that someone steps up again if the Cardinals decide to put extra guys on JJ. Last week, Addison and Hockenson stepped up and became ‘the guy’ when the defense assigned extra guys to neutralize JJ. Eventually, teams will have to adjust and it will open up opportunities for JJ once again. It’s one of the benefits of having so many athletic play makers on offense.
I’m also hoping that the Vikings defense can continue to re-find their early season domanance. They slipped a bit, then over the past 2-3 weeks, seem to be regaining their footing. Let’s hope they can continue that and are able to rattle Murray and hopefully force a mistake or two.
