Vikings vs. Falcons Quick Preview
The Atlanta Falcons and Kirk Cousins are in Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings today, kickoff is at noon. It will be Kirk’s first game against his old team, where he played for six seasons. We all know that Cousins can put up some big numbers if he’s allowed to stand in the pocket, so it’ll be vital for Brian Flores to find ways to harass Kirk and force him to improvise, which is not Kirk’s strength. If they can do that, they should be able to force mistakes and hopefully generate some turnovers.
The Vikings offense has been performing better over the past several games. After throwing 3 interceptions against the Jaguars in week ten, Sam Darnold hasn’t thrown one in the last three games. Darnold will need to be smart with the ball and avoid turning the ball over, same thing with Aaron Jones, who fumbled twice last week. Opposing defenses have been focusing on stopping Justin Jefferson, and if the Falcons do the same, then I expect guys like Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson to have more opportunities.
I hope Flores brings his A game today. If the defense can knock Kirk off of his gameplan and the offense can avoid turnovers, the day should go well for the Vikings. We’ll find out shortly, SKOL!!!!!!!!!
