Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Two struggling offenses have backup quarterbacks starting today, as the Vikings try to bounce back from an abysmal home opener against the Falcons last week. For Surly’s sake, I hope the Vikings play better this week, as he’ll be at the game. I have high hopes for Carson Wentz, and hope he can come in and get the Vikings’ sputtering offense firing on more than one cylindar. The offense has played exactly one good quarter out of the eight quarters they’ve played this year, they obviously need to do better than that.
A win gets the Vikings to 2-1. LFG! SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The low spot for me was 13 penalties for 105 yards…at home. Good thing the away games are on neutral soil.
glad to see the team finish a game with no major injuries.
i’m GUESSING, besides Jmac, we’ll be full go this week
How is Donovan Jackson’s nose?
Apparently he was back on the next series and I missed it.
yeah he’s good.
Hargrave could have come back in too, KOC said, but since we were up so big, there was no need to
Man oh man did Darrisaw make a difference.
Did Dallas Turner do anything? I didn’t hear his name in the broadcast.
He looked good. Was pressuring Browning a lot it seemed or part of the work in stopping the run.
I thought Jalen Redmond was a beast.
I heard good things were said about him.
Couldn’t see the game here but multiple sources said he had a good game.
i, for one, am cutting back the amount of money i give to the mods for putting daily threads out. cutting funds but also demanding more
Surly must have celebrated too hard yesterday and decided to sleep in.
Two weeks in Europe coming up, and then a week off. KOC intends to give McCarthy this time to recover, recuperate, and then return. Wentz played well enough yesterday, and that made me happy. This feels a little like the Dobbs effect to me though. Hope I’m wrong. Hope next week we play well again, and beat the Steelers handily. Rodgers will obviously be a little charged up, wanting to beat his old rivals.
More drama for me to dither about. Wentz got ‘er done, although he took a couple of bad sacks. Now I see a winnable game against the Eagles, only McCarthy has captained the team to five consecutive three and outs, oh please bring in Carson!
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
Good morning, and FTP indeed. The Vikings made a statement yesterday. We won, and we looked good doing it. Glorious.
SKOL!
It was a great antidote for that steaming pile of Falcons game.
Didn’t get to watch the game yesterday. Won’t be able to watch replay until the weekend.
so, you’re welcome. May have to not watch all year, if this is how they play, when I don’t watch.
Same.
When I don’t watch, they win.
Went to bed in the third quarter week 1.
Didn’t see it yesterday.
Sunday, I’m at church.
Likely won’t see much of anything.
Watching the replay. It’s just as much fun to watch the second time.
I’ll watch it tomorrow. It was a great game to watch today.
I couldn’t watch it live.
Will have to look for it on replay, I am not sure it will be offered since I don’t pay for the NFL Network.
I didn’t start watching the game until 3 pm local time. I try very very hard to avoid any possibility of seeing the score but when I was looking something up on my work computer a blurb came up about Browning throwing a beautiful TD and your imagination goes wild.
I honestly felt bad for Bengals fans as goodness knows we Vikings fans have been on the receiving end of such a drubbing, aka the Falcons the week before.
Looks like the Chiefs will beat the Giants tonight. Not surprised, but with 6 minutes left in the game, Russell Wilson is sitting on a whopping 96 yards. He is 13/21 with 2 interceptions. That’s not gonna get it done in the NFL.
The Chiefs are tromping them. 6-0.
Looks more like 6-6 on my computer broadcast.
It’s a barn burner
49ers beat the Cardinals with a 35 yard field goal to end the game.
Bears beat the Cowboys.
Chargers with a 43 yard field goal as time runs out to win it.
Bolts and Broncos battling it out. Tied at 20-20 just 2:37 left in the game.
Go Bolts, beat Buttholemouth.
I’m glad today’s records were good records, not like the times that we have recorded some very amazingly bad records.
Another NFL record today…
We win.
Pukers lose.
Cheer for Ravens tomorrow. Those pond games prob not easy, here Browns D might be best. hear!
@All22_PFF
Replying to @NFL and @Vikings
We’ve never posted about a grade as high as Isaiah Rodgers’ in the A22 era… https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f92f.svg
https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f7e6.svg 99.9 – Overall Grade

(In-game PFF grades)
We did good today in all three phases of the game. Complete domination!!!
I have read fiction that has the protagonist that had amazing games that were not as good as Isaiah Rodgers game.
I said earlier that he should retire tomorrow. How is he going to beat that?
Seahawks beating the Saints 35-3 halfway through the second quarter.
Amen:
@WillRagatz
KOC on Christian Darrisaw’s return: “If there’s ever a question of what a franchise left tackle means to a team, we felt it today.”
Great quote right there.
Vikings in first place, even though most standings have the Pukers ahead.
Conf tiebreaker is the fourth tie breaker.
Head to head
Division
Common Games
Conference
Cincy a common game a W for the Vikes
Cleve a common game and a L for the pukers
Most standings molest collies
Caleb having a great start to his day. 5/7 for 135 yards and 2 TD’s already, 153.3 passer rating.
Bolts and Broncos is a big defensive battle so far.
The Bears just had a nice drive against the Cowboys. I still want the Bears to lose
Yes… we do… sort of…
Meteor game.
Isaiah Rodgers Sr. is the first player in NFL history with a pick-6, a fumble returned for a touchdown and two forced fumbles in a single game.
He did it in one half.
Incredible!
Surly must have had a great time
Oh, good point! Much better than the poor folks who went last weekend.
Last week SUCKED.
Man….that was so much more fun than the last two times I was at that stadium…
Glad you got experience that record setting performance by the Vikings Surly!
Poor Packers.
Carson Wentz 14/20 for 173 yards, 8.7 yards per attempt, 2 TD’s, 0 interceptions, sacked 3-19 yards, and a 129.8 passer rating.
VERY solid day.
Ball Game.
Vikings win 48-10.
FTP lose 13-10.
A great day so far.
Jets block a Tampa field goal and return it for a TD with 2 minutes left. Jets take the lead!!!!
Nice smack down!
wasn’t able to see the game out here.
Surly got the win!!
Pukers lose!!!!!!!!!
Devastating loss for the Pack, blowout win for the Vikes. Perfect football Sunday if you ask me.
Amen, as good as it gets, football-wise
YAY BROWNS!!!!
FTP lose 13-10 to the Brownies.
Vikings get a blowout win at home. Packers lose to the Browns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boys, it doesn’t get any better than this.
Eagles BLOCK the kick and return it for a walk off TD…
FTP!!!!
With major prejudice 😊
Rams attempting a 44 yard field goal with 2 seconds left to win it.
Blocked FG by the Browns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Holy shit. Browns have the ball on the 40. Need 10 yards to get into fg range, 12 seconds left, no timeouts
Browns need a 55 yard FG to beat the Peckers. PLEASE make this kick
Blocked FG, scoop and score for the Poopeaters.
Too bad, so close to the trifecta.
Listening to the Vikes game on audio, nice return by Price.
Holy shit, the Browns just forced a fumble & should get the ball back. Tied with the Peckers at 10
Called down on the field, review shows it’s a fumble.
How the hell did that call not get overturned.
Thielen with a pretty bad drop there.
Brosmer in for Wentz.
Just to get reps??
Browns just tied up the game against the Packers with 3 minutes to go
Falcons down 27-0 to the Panthers. Penix with a 50% completion rate and 2 interceptions. Morris puts Cousins in.
The Vikings have just put the Bengals at their deepest deficit in franchise history.
More TDs.
Hocks turn.
48-3.
I call for a 50 burger. Just because.
Wentz to Hock, Vikes up 47-3. Yikes. Holy shit.
HOCK!!! TD!!!!
