Welcome, Skoloholics! As you know, PFF is an analytics site, and we will be using their data, which is all behind a pay wall, so I won’t bother with a link. Their unique grading system grades each individual player on each individual play. It aggregates the plays then assigns each player an overall game grade in each category, along with an overall grade for the game. For offense, players are given grades for overall offense, a grade for pass (the passing game), pass blocking, rushing, and run blocking. As with any metric or analytics analysis, there will be flaws, so this, along with any other metric, should be used as a tool and not used as a “be-all-end-all” answer to how someone played.
How did the Vikings players fare in Saturday’s crazy comeback game according to PFF? The first half will likely drag some numbers down, so it’ll be interesting to see who stands out in PFF’s grades. I’ll list each player who played significant game time, their snap counts, and their PFF grade(s). The list will be sorted by each player’s overall offensive grade. I’ll post the defense shortly.
Vikings Offense Snap Count & PFF Grade(s)
| Player | Snap Count | Position | Offense | Pass | P Blocking | Rushing | R Blocking |
| Brian O’Neill | 91 | RT | 80.1 | 80.8 | 83.1 | ||
| K.J. Osbourne | 74 | WR | 78.5 | 78.5 | 68.2 | ||
| Justin Jefferson | 84 | WR | 75.7 | 75.0 | 57.7 | ||
| Dalvin Cook | 78 | RB | 75.2 | 88.3 | 81.0 | 64.4 | 60.0 |

| Johnny Mundt | 17 | TE | 62.0 | 54.9 | 59.2 | 64.5 | |
| Adam Thielen | 82 | WR | 57.9 | 58.2 | 51.0 | ||
| Kirk Cousins | 91 | QB | 57.4 | 58.2 | 53.8 | 60.0 | |
| Ed Ingram | 91 | RG | 56.0 | 73.2 | 44.9 | ||
| Ezra Cleveland | 91 | LG | 55.8 | 40.6 | 62.9 | ||
| T.J. Hockenson | 86 | TE | 50.4 | 51.1 | 54.4 | 52.7 | |
| Austin Schlottmann | 91 | C | 50.0 | 63.7 | 40.9 |

Summary
It’s not shocking to me that Schlottman brought up the rear here, he didn’t seem to stand out for good reasons during the game. Also, his and Ingrams run grades, woof. The rest of these grades seem to jive with what I watched (several times), although it surprises me to see Hockenson as low as he is. Maybe they saw something that I didn’t.
KJ went off like a bomb and he gets a WHAT?
PFF is just silly sometimes…
78.5 is a pretty good grade. They grade each play individually, so it’s tough to score much above 80.
