Offense Snap Counts – PFF Viking Player Grades: Week 18 Vikings @ Bears

detailed-horn

Welcome, Skoloholics! As you know, PFF is an analytics site, and we will be using their data, which is all behind a pay wall, so I won’t bother with a link. Their unique grading system grades each individual player on each individual play. It aggregates the plays then assigns each player an overall game grade in each category, along with an overall grade for the game. For offense, players are given grades for overall offense, a grade for pass (the passing game), pass blocking, rushing, and run blocking. As with any metric or analytics analysis, there will be flaws, so this, along with any other metric, should be used as a tool and not used as a “be-all-end-all” answer to how someone played.

How did the Vikings players fare in Sunday’s solid victory against the Bears, according to PFF? I expect Kirk, Mattison, and Nailor to score high. I’m only going to list the top 12 players or so, otherwise the list would get quite long as a lot of players saw similar amounts of playing time. These 12 will be the top half of Vikings offensive players. I’ll post the defense shortly.

Summary

I forgot about Nailor, he had a huge day on Sunday, and it’s good to see the entire O-line in the upper half of the team. All 12 of these players received favorable grades from PFF for their performance on Sunday, which is a VAST improvement over the offense’s poor overall performance against the Packers last Sunday.
