We had an interesting find when we were clearing a house this week. We had to remove all personal property from a home so that we can put it on the market. While doing so, we ran across this book. I love books, and it looked old, so I had to look at it. Upon inspection, I could see it was a library book that came from the Maddock school library. The person who checked it out (NOT ME!!!) did not return the book, and the due date was January of 1978.

I stopped by the school and returned the book to one of the teachers there. I didn’t get a fine, but we did get a good laugh.
I also found this, I thought it was Kool.

Minnesota Vikings Discussion Topic of the Day
The Vikings host the Chargers at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, kickoff is at noon. How is everyone feeling about this one? Who do you think will win and by how much?
It’ll be interesting to see if Kevin O’Connell can keep the team motivated and focused. The team “bought in” to KOC’s leadership last year when they were finding ways to win nearly every game, so it’ll be interesting to see how well KOC can get the team to respond now that they’ve had a slow start. I really don’t see it being a problem, as the players seem to like and respect their head coach, but the team could really use a win, especially at home.

Minnesota Vikings News:
Marcus Davenport will be out for this Sunday’s game, according to TwinCities.com.
SI.com notes that the Vikings’ gamble on Marcus Davenport is off to a slow start. Thanks, Captain Obvious!
Vikings.com has the most recent Vikings-Chargers injury report. Also, Cam Akers is already feeling comfortable in purple. Kinda like Grimmace, he always looked comfortable in purple.
USA Today looks at injury reports from around the league, where two rookie starting QBs are on the list and will not play.
CBS Sports looks at NFL teams and players who may be pressing the panic button, or already are.
Video of the Day:
Here’s a great tune by the Allman Brothers, this is Soulshine. Enjoy!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Bee stings never bothered me before. The last 3, I’ve gotten a pretty bad reaction & infection. Got stung a few times on Friday, friggin arm is swelled up & red & warm. Weird.
The allergic effect tends to increase in severity after stings so you better be prepared with some antidotes. An epi-pen is the best to have but they can be expensive and technically you’re suppose to go to the ER after using one to be checked everything is ok. Another option is have Benadryl pills and oral anti acids on hand to take after a sting. Both have different forms of allergy blocks mechanisms that can reduce the severity of an allergic reaction.
Game thread is scheduled for 11:00.
Need to break a run past 10 yards today. Only team in league not to do so. KJ needs to grow a pair. Hands. 1 turnover max.
The way it’s going, it might be Kirk.
Our rushing offense seems to be an afterthought, they put very little effort into getting it going. It was bad last year, too. It’s worse this year.
Last year, we passed on 65% of downs, 3rd most in the league. This year, we’re passing on 78% of downs. Leading the league by far. This is the reason teams are blitzing so much, we’re doing nothing to make them stop. Have to run the damn ball.
The sad part here is KOC spent the whole off-season focusing on running the ball better. The whole damn off-season. This is what he produced with all his “focus”. Infuriating to me that the coach failed at this so miserably. He made our running game improvement a priority, and it’s the worst in the league.
It’s the offensive design that’s the problem, IMO. Personnel is lacking, but our game planning is one-dimensional. No running back will get going when you only run on 22% of plays, and most of those rushing plays are in obvious rushing situations.
You’re right, they spent the offseason vowing to make improvments, and they got worse.
Good part is, it’s easily correctable, just establish a running game to keep defenses honest & slow down the blitz.
Would love to see better running game. But not sure this is the week where we can waste a couple of series trying to get it going.
This bullshit again lol…
Heading to the game with my wife and kid.
Anyone else going?
We will be there in spirit! Enjoy and please post a pic from your seats!!
Have fun!
Bring a weapon.
Good luck!
Enjoy the Pre-game
they both suck.
Brad, I responded to your book comment down the thread a ways.
Gone Fishin is just plain gone these days.
Been busy as a beaver over here. I managed 5 properties my first month, I had 30 my second month (plus I just got another 9) and had 4 homes that I had to clean out & prepare for sale (those take time & effort). My wife and I get the listings for the sales, so it also boosts our real estate biz. Business is booming.
Gameday fellas!
Skol!!
what is wrapped around that poor child’s head?
One of my niece’s diapers….
That pic is old. He brought it to me when my wife was changing her – so I put it on his head and he wore it for way longer than I thought he would. Cried when my wife took it off. Nutjob.
The Gopher suck.
Yep.
Why is that fool wearing a D&G shirt?? Promoting a fashion house brand screams poor mind and ignorance.
Fleck sucks he’s the problem. He can recruit and give soapbox speeches but his in game adjustments are as bad as I have ever seen.
Give it all away and go get him….
@kirk could do that if he had a better O line@
V for Victory
V for Vikings
SKOL!
Mjolnir and I pre game today……
You just get me….
Gm.
FTP.
and the chargers.
gameday!
Hey welcome newbie. Grab an oar it’s game day.
The Chargers @ Vikings game has been canceled. You can go back to bed.
Game Day….anyone up yet?
Good Morning!
Good day to stay inside and watch 12 hours of football….
Wait a minute…we did that yesterday lol…some doozie’s in CFB for sure. Let’s go again!!
Rodents go from 31-10 at the start of the 4th to losing 34-37.
Football does not seem to be ‘our thing’ this year.
Ouch.
Aren’t they playing Northwestern?
Yup
Game thread or are we going with this til Wednesday?
Wednesday, of course
.
I’ll do my best to remember to post a game thread.
Cine is officially dead. Next yr is yr 3 and he’s not progressing at all.
What does Trishton Jackson have to do with Cine?
Good question. I read an article saying that one of our safeties could be bumped off the 53 to make room for him. Cine is on the bubble but survived this one it seems.
Cine -> bust. Queasy -> sucks at drafting.
Twins lose with hungover scabs. So much for seeding. They will lose another playoff series. Book it.
0-1 with a roster of hungover scabs doesn’t sound all that bad honestly.
Of course they are going to ‘lose another playoff series’ as no one expects them to go on a historic run and win all of their playoff series from not on forever. Ha!
This coach is awesome. His halftime interview was gold as well. They’re gonna try for 80-0.
Shedeur looks like Justin Fields today.
Is Bo Nix projecting first round?
If he contends for and wins the Heisman yes. If not probably late first early 2nd. He has his fans for sure.
Looks better than that Sanders kid.
He started the game with 11 straight completions. Buffalos defense is not very good Nix is out classing them with ease.
He’d look pretty good in purple and gold. The bears can ruin Williams. Go for Bo.
I wouldn’t hate it. He reminds me of Drew Brees.
Got our LT back.
We need to put the couch at the end of the driveway for the garbage truck this week
Rough start for the Buffaloes. Bout to go down 14-0. Look completely out classed.
The route is on
Oregon has coved the spread at least.
21-0 with no competent looking plays from CU. Loved the Oregon head coach’s pregame speech.
.
I’m all about Coach Prime.
Rooting for Colorado to do well – which is sacrilegious in Scarlet and Cream country….
I hope Oregon absolutely destroys them.
I want a competitive game and always root for the underdog to compete.
I’ve had my full of their antics. They need to be reminded they’re in Colorado and haven’t done shit.
looks like you’ll get your wish….
Took me 45 minutes to figure out that ‘popswego’ in toddler babble means popsicle and I’m clearly the dumbest uncle ever for having not known that.
Carry on.
Skol.
It took us months to figure out my two adopted nephews meant ‘flags’ when they exclaimed ‘Woo Woos’ randomly.
Toddlers can be fun.
Been pretty good so far. Her parents and my wife are downtown Lincoln watching the game so she’s spending some time with Uncle Hammer today. She’s already smarter than me but she’s nice enough to dumb it down so I don’t feel bad. Mother in law here too so that helps.
My granddaughter just turned 6 today. When I video chatted with her today she is pretty understandable. However her little brother who just turned 3 is hard to understand. His mom has to translate for me.
Safe to say God is taking a huge shit on the Bears franchise this week.
God doesn’t care about the bears organization.
Clemson shocking FSU.
Love it
Still early but loving watching the ‘experts’ get it wrong.
Correct.
Id guess FSU still wins.
Quite possibly.
Covers the 6.5 pt spread in Clemson?
Quite possibly not.
I’d say Clemson covers. Absolutely
FSU turns it on in the 2nd half and doesn’t look back.
Twins clinch last night and celebrated like they won the WS.
Player guaranteed that they would break the playoff loss streak.
So, so very Twins like of them.
https://puckettspond.com/posts/kyle-farmer-guarantees-twins-will-break-postseason-curse-after-winning-al-central-01hazdenkmhk?utm_campaign=FanSided+Daily&utm_source=FanSided+Daily&utm_medium=email&sc=24b8486ccfd4f84b6e956bfa5d6153055be39adcb0826b28a0fe19eb3aa0aefb
SO Minnesota…..put more pressure on yourself.
At least they won’t be playing the Yankees.
Every team that wins their division celebrates in this same manner.
The last time the Twins won a playoff game, George W. Bush was still in his first term. It’s been a while.
The Chargers are still trying to find their Sea Legs in the defensive backfield, and they could be in for their biggest test of the year.
Justin Jefferson leads the league in receiving yards (309) and has the second-most targets (25) and catches (20) through two games.
“You turn his film on and it speaks for itself. He’s been making plays week-in and week-out,” said cornerback J.C. Jackson. “He’s a hell of a player. You turn on the film and you see what he can do.”
A key storyline this week will be the Chargers cornerback rotation.
Staley said Monday that Ja’Sir Taylor will be the primary nickel cornerback going forward. That leaves Jackson, Asante Samuel Jr., and Michael Davis battling for two spots on the outside.
The hope, Staley said, is that two of those three players establish themselves as full-time starters in the coming weeks.
Hopefully the Vikings receiving corps can inflict some damage on those guys Sunday.
I think every defense has the same plan against the Vikings because they’ve seen it on tape enough. Blitz Cousins, the oline is craptastic on stunts or bringing two on a blitz.
Our oline sucks at handing guys off or shifting one way then adjusting at the snap, especially if it’s two of you on a single DL, they should know that shit by now and know who will peel and be looking for the extra rusher. No they both maul the single lineman in to oblivion while Kirk gets rocked and spits up the ball.
It is strange but these guys have seen hundreds of times that DE and DT simple cross and they still get fooled. Something is amiss.
Chatty bunch for a Saturday morning…
Cat woke me up at 4:45 to be fed. So I’ve been up awhile.
The wife is in Clearwater at a Hotel. Going to some concert there tonight, so is spending the day at the beach.
If someone/something wakes me up at 4:45 am, it would be wise for them to have already drafted their will.
Laughing… yeah I’m normally up around 5 a.m. every day anyway though.
Saturday afternoon over here, we´re chilling at home doing absolutely nothing 😊
Had friends over for dinner last night, a few beers, fine glasses of Whiskey and a good time have been had, so today it´s just chill and relax.
We have had about 1.5 inches of rain since Thursday afternoon. Even with that we are way behind in our rainfall for the summer. It’s looking like we may get more today which would be nice.
Good… love the rain. Always happy to see it.
There are plenty of connections between the Bolts and Vikings.
There’s family bragging rights at stake here, as outside linebacker Chris Rumph II is the son of Vikings defensive line coach Chris Rumph. Also, Chargers linebacker Tanner Muse is the older brother of Vikings tight end Nick Muse.
Of course we all know Eric Kendricks spent eight years with the Vikings before joining the Bolts this season. Offensive tackle Trey Pipkins III is a native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and linebackers coach Jeff Howard coached in Minnesota from 2013-19.
There’s also the friendship between Chargers Head Coach Brandon Staley and Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell.
But nobody has a connection like Chargers Special Teams Coordinator Ryan Ficken, who spent a whopping 15 seasons with the Vikings from 2007 to 2021.
Brad, you should have sent that book to me. I would have returned it for you.
I actually wanted to talk to you. I grabbed a bunch of books from a place in Jamestown. Some are paperback, others are hard cover. Tom Clancy, Cussler, some other authors. I have two bookshelves full of my own that I need to get rid of as well. They take up a lot of room, and I can’t figure out why we keep books like they’re trophies. Sell them and let someone else read them. I don’t read most books more than once.
Most of the titles with big name authors are hard to sell online because of the high volume of copies printed. Most of them are more suited for a library sale or garage sale where you can price them at 25 cents.
I enjoy reading some books more than once. When I was a kid, I read my Hardy Boys books multiple times. Now I collect more expensive books. The last book I purchased was a $250 DC Comics the Golden Age published by the Folio Society. It came with a replica Action Comics number 1. The first appearance of Superman.
I’ll prolly just give ’em away.
My son is coming to see me in about an hour. Wants to hit the driving range with me because “he enjoys watching his 7 iron fly as far as your driver”. He’s never beaten me though. The woods are full of big hitters.
I haven’t been to a driving range in a long time. I will hit a small bucket of balls with him (he’ll hit a large bucket) then I’ll challenge him to a pitching and chipping contest. That’ll allow me to get some revenge on him.
If you want revenge, remind him that he came from you and it’s by your good graces that he’s here to talk shit and not dried up in a tissue at the bottom of a wastebasket. Then out drive him and bust the club over your knee. Then do what my parents do and make him take out the trash.
Well we have some recessed lights that are out in the 9 foot ceilings he’s gonna change, so that’ll be his penance.
We all have similar issues with sons. Except mine will bet me at pitching and chipping too.
Neither one of us has ever played a lot of golf, or practiced much, so if he ever actually starts to practice and get good with his pitching and chipping, I’m in trouble.
He does know I’m good with my wedges and calls me Dr Gyno around the greens.
I’m just out gunned at every aspect of game.
The woods are full of big hitters…one of golfs greatest truths.
Isn’t said much but there’s a lot of short, crooked hitters in the woods too.
Well… there IS that…
What’sa normal distance for 7 iron?
My son can hit his 7 iron 185. I’d say Average” distance is probably 150. I hit mine about 125.
The Vikings offense ranks second in passing yards per game (337.0) and is third in the NFL with 17 explosive pass plays of 15-plus yards.
That has to be the Bolts top defensive priority, yes?
“Honestly, the goal first is to be able to stop the run. That’s our goal first,” Nose Tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day said. “They have a great running back and a great scheme. We have to earn the right to rush the passer.”
Clearly this guy doesn’t watch tape.
Or he’s repeating, verbatim, coach-speak – as it’s another of a long line of endless interviews, it’s the end of the day, he’s tired and doesn’t give a shit because nobody’s listening anyway.
I’m betting he’s seen plenty of film and the Minny running game isn’t striking fear into his heart….
Or you might argue that because TB and Philly stopped the run, the Vikings weren’t able to score enough to win?
You can argue the world is flat too DE… grin.
You totally took my point out of context.
TB and Philly stopped the run.
They won.
Well, you said they stopped the run which prevented us from scoring enough to win, but that’s not the case at all. The turnovers at the goal line in both games cost us the points we needed to win. We were able to move the ball and score points without the running game.
Well that would be insinuating that it’s Kirk’s fault and that don’t play around here law dog.
‘Shut up Ike….’
I just got back having coffee with a friend who knows football pretty well. And he made a comment that goes along with this quote – no defense at any level was ever good that couldn’t stop the run.
.
Truer words have not been spoken. All of the ‘elite’ defenses of the era, college or NFL were able to stonewall the run.
I’m sure Flores knows this, he just has too many holes to cover.
Addison has some work to do to get better.
First round pick can’t beat man coverage in the NFL… shocked.
‘How bad does the football team suck when the mascot commits suicide…?’
Good Gawd that is awful.
I remember it. Was back in ‘94. And I’d heard the Bobcat joke before on Stern years ago. I thought the joke was funny – that’s what a good comic does, touches the untouchable – but that had to be awful. I’ve been on the track when thoroughbreds went down and they euthanize them right there. Awful indeed.
I love Horse racing but this past year has been terrible and made me rethink that these animals are being mistreated for human pleasure. Now most live a better life than you and I, meals, sex, rest, shit where you stand someone else cleans it up, I mean it doesn’t get much better.
Having worked race security for years as a summer gig and spending a ton of time in the paddock I can tell you that there is waaaay more abuse and neglect of these animals than you’d believe. Not all. Had tons of owners/jockeys/teams that were amazing people and took care of the animals. Many that did not. I watched an owner go Brian Dennehy from ‘Silverado’ and slap one of the trainers in the face with a riding crop after watching the trainer do it to the horse. Guy was fired and I escorted him off grounds.
Check that, was Kevin Kline.
Good, fucking cuck deserved it! Also I’m getting my tombstone gif quota in today…
BREAKING NEWS:
This guy is good!
Crazy stat…Notre Dame hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 1935 lol….that is wild. Today is the day to end that with my favorite QB Sam Hartman at the helm for the Irish. Ohio State has been doing this silly two QB system thing. Their WR room is STACKED but they seem to not have a decent trigger man. They do have a good running game but if ND can stop that then they have a chance to end the streak.
Could happen, but Ohio State has a lot of talent across the board.
DEEP that is for sure. I’m excited to see how Hartman handles this level of competition. It will be the best defense he has faced to date. Thus far he has been amazing this year….

So I haven’t watched college much in the last 20 years or so, but in my experience, college defenses aren’t what one would call “world class”.
Depends on the team. There have been a few Alabama and Georgia defenses that have been pretty good. Michigan too the last few years.
compared to the nfl yeah not even close…hence why Addison is struggling a bit with press coverage..totally normal adjustment to have to make unless you’re Justin Jefferson or Rand Moss and just come in a fucking stud.
I normally root against the Catholics for a variety of reasons, but today I will make an exception.
Same. I have a special disdain for ND, which is funny because when I was a kid they were my 2nd favorite team behind Nebraska.
Looking forward to next year´s St. Patrick´s Day. We plan to experience it in Dublin, should be fun.
My daughter is going to Dublin soon. She has a conference there and then will be spending a few days touring the British Isles
Nice, hope she´ll enjoy her trip. I´ve been to London many times, never made it to Ireland so far, that should change next year.
She’s planning on going to London during this trip also. She loves to tour old churches and museums so I’m sure she will have a blast in London.
Then she´ll have a very good time in London indeed.
Good morning.
Mornin DE, you getting hit by the storm yet?
Off and on. Not terrible.
Will likely get a bit worse throughout the day as the center of the storm heads north.
Good, hopefully you won’t lose power, or have any damage.
Stay safe.
Batten down the hatches DE, ophelia is in coming. Looks like my state is going to bear the brunt of it and slow her down a bit so you should be fine.
Yeah. We usually don’t get the hurricane force winds because DE is a bit protected by NC sticking out in the Atlantic more. They make landfall before it gets here. But it will be raining hard.
lol….the rubber ducky escape boat is epic.
Yeah one of these days a cat 5 monster is going to take the same path and absolutely destroy the coast from NC to you. Greta told me so.
Gooooose morning my foosball ninjas in the Skolodojo!
Gorgeous here in Star City.
Coffee brewed, rawhide for the pooch.
Football all day. I’ve bought into the Deion hype – looking forward to Colorado vs Oregon.
Nebraska hosting La Tech today. Last time they came to town was the ‘98 opener. I was there. Troy Edwards caught an NCAA record 21 passes for 405 yards. Woof.
Skol!
Good morning good sir to you and your precious companion. Soooo looking forward to the games today with the Buffalos at the Ducks being the best of the day for sure! Also looking forward to Seminole’s at Clemson. Neighbor is a Florida State alum she dresses up in her gear every game day its really cute.
Wanted to tell you, I unpacked from our trip to MI and unpacked out of my golf bag the three strains of flower I bought from the dispensary there. Holy pungent weed smell Batman this shit is going to rock my world. It’s packed in little foil sealed baggies and you can still smell it. Haven’t tried it yet but going to today. Had some old bowls and one hitters but I think the Mrs threw all that shit away years ago as I haven’t smoked in 5 yrs or more. Have to scoot down to the smoke shop and pick up either a little bong, one hitter or bowl of some sort. Rolling joints is a bit of a waste for me, I only need two hits and I’ll be flying high.
Go with a one-hitter or a chillum (same thing, just made of glass) Go easy, Moonbeam….✌️😌
I’d also recommend mason jars or Pyrex for storage. Should it start to dry out take a Q-tip and wet the end of it and toss it in with buds. It’ll bring the moisture back nicely. Just don’t over saturate.
Thanks that happened to my last few ounces years ago I had stored in kombucha bottles which work well. Dried out a bit. I got these little cool humidifier packets from the cigar shop that can be remoistened that should work also.
Chillum…huh that sounds better. The screens with bowls are a pain and the one hitters with the fake metal cig you can pack with the little wooden case you can grind with clog up with the tar eventually. I’ll try that!
Should you go the joint route and want to minimize waste, get one of these. Put your lit joint in and it snuffs it out – don’t have to put it out against anything and mess up the end. Puts it out evenly so you can re-light without fear of a run.
Now that’s cool! They did give me a free joint, called Girl Scout cookie, 24% THC from what I read. It was rolled like the pic you sent with the little tip on it.
They’re actually filled – the cones come pre-formed and empty and then you grind your flower and sprinkle it into the end and use the plastic/paper tamper to push it down and even it out. And 24% THC is no joke. By comparison, the best black market weed available in the states was testing at around 9-10%. That 24% will blow your hair back.
Yeah I’m going to save that for a special occasion with other folks.
I use a humidor for my cigars, wouldn’t that be better?
Would also work nicely. I have a humidor as well.
Have fun!
I still hate the feeling of smoking, so Seltzers and gummies for me.
I do, however, like the much quicker and not quite as long lasting buzz from the flower.
Try the Delta 9 vape e-cigs. They are really a convenient method and the buzz is amazing.
I’m an old school child of the 60’s. I like to smoke my weed, taste the flower, smell the smell….it’s just the best thing ever. The buzz is so fine.
I will try that, thanks.
Can confirm. This is a one gram marijuana cart. 93% THC content on these. Smooth, usually odorless and for those low-tolerance types one of these will last you quite a while. Don’t leave the cart on the battery and try to keep it upright when not in use.
Could also try a vaporizer. A bit more time consuming but a great way to smoke and not burn your lungs out.
Enjoy mate!
Eckler being out is HUGE. He is a tough guy to bring down and keep track of. Bosa is nursing a bad hammy and has not practiced much which is also a huge win.
Hope Bosa is ruled out for sure. Kendricks is out, so at least we won’t have to watch him sack Cousins. That said, Kendricks knows Cousins like the back of his hand, so the Chargers have a defensive advantage there.
Bosa will minimal be slowed which is good so our tackles should be able to handle him. I’m liking our chances tomorrow, might have to change my prediction from a Chargers win to a Vikings win.
Laughing… well we’re all entitled to change our minds.
I can’t figure out how to post a tweet so it shows up as a graphic. Mine just show up as links.
It’s different on different sites, twitter has a copy link function at the bottom right of the post then when you post that link here you have to change it from x.com to twitter.com in the first part of the link.
Oh yeah, I’ve seen that before here. Forgot. Thanks!
Just blitz up the middle. Nobody on the Vikings IOL can block, and Kirk will not improvise.
I could be the Defensive coordinator against this team.
Well duh… grin.
Cousins is more mobile than folks give him credit for. He has 19 rushing TD’s in his career… grin.
Here ya go Lifer
My view from my bedroom this morning…
Gorgeous!
Wow you are in the line of fire for a good shank right. Would have to be a terrible hosel hit which I have that shot on repeat when needed lol…..little lady there seems in pretty decent position. Curious how that shot turned out.
We get our fair share of balls that hit the Lanai, and land on the roof. We’ve even found balls in our front yard. In the morning, it’s fun to sit there with a cup of coffee and watch the balls splash into the lake. Lots of cursing happens on that tee box. I have even seen one guy throw his club into the lake (and I mean WAY into the lake) then realize what he did. Hilarious.
You need to put up a sign:
”You’re not the first and you won’t be the last.”
True.
Had a little old lady hit her ball into my yard a few weeks ago. I was watching her as she very cautiously looked around, and crept into my yard to retrieve her ball. She grabbed it quickly and scampered back to her cart and drove to the green.
Some homeowners in this community do not allow golfers on their property to retrieve their wayward shots. As a golfer I’m fine with it, as long as you don’t drive the cart into my yard (which has happened a lot).
Yeah I don’t hit on people lawns naturally but will retrieve my ball if it’s not fenced in. Never carts on their lawns that’s just rude.
gorgeous view. If it were not for all the insects and other critters, I would like to move south.
Family in AZ, dealing with scorpions and large spiders is not my thing.
I was stationed in Tucson for a couple years back in the 80’s. Learned to scuba dive and fly there.
Well… let’s get going…

I love JJ’s attitude, Kirk carries the same confidence albeit with strong midwestern yeoman’s put the work in and get the result speak. As many have said, we expected to be 1-1 at this stage anyway so no need to panic. Have to pick up a game along the way and if they hold on to the ball they have the talent to do so.
I hope we see the offense start to really click tomorrow. Without the turnovers we’d be killin it this year.
Let’s friggin go!
Nice morning here in Tampa, as the sun comes up it’s clear skies and 66 degrees. A beautiful day is dawning.
That’s nice. Had a tee time set for 7 am this morning with some buddies but DE Viking cursed my Saturday with his storm talk. 61 degrees, little gusts and no rain so probably could have played but this thing is circling counter clockwise moving further west so we’ll likely get a little rain later this morning. Very dry here all week, grass looks the same as when I cut it last Friday.
We’ve gotten a lot of rain over the summer, and I for one am thankful for it. All the lakes and ponds were way down last year from a drought. They’re all full again now and the grass is very nice.
Hope the storm doesn’t affect you too badly.
Same here, rain has been plentiful but on a good every other week or so schedule and everything has stayed lush and full. The myrtle trees in our yard have stayed in full bloom all summer long it’s been pretty amazing.
Thanks, we’re just catching the outer bands as they circle by, light wind gusts 10-15 mph and a very light steady rain. It will all clear out by mid afternoon and the sun will likely come out later.
Well, I never said Charlotte was going to get it very bad.
The track has mostly been a northerly track from Wilmington to DC.
Bad enough to ruin my golf outing which actually is fine because I played 63 holes this week missing today is actually a good thing. It’s all about me DE you know that.
Now this video is out of context from doogie…he popped the “how’s the ankle” question on him mid-way so that was what created the reaction but still…pretty cringe from a guy who got $13 mill and is out already. I’d assume there are medical guys confirming his ankle issue so it’s not like he’s lying or playing lame but still, compare this to Risner who’s all in and said he’d carry guys pads this clown acts like he’s all pro hof and has built equity to act like this. I find the comment from the guy below on Davenport interesting also.
KAM can sure pick’em…
Yeah guy acts like “I got ya!” Meaning he got his $10 mill guaranteed regardless and is now playing the angles of reducing wear and tear on his body. He’s giving up $120,000 per game he is not active so that’s pretty dumb but in reality I’d say he’s likely really dinged, probably wants to be out there but how fans and the media get everything twisted and start accusing him of intentionally not playing some dudes don’t respond well to that and he seems to be one of those guys.
All I know is, Dan Snyder brought in high priced “stars” every year when he first bought the Redskins and not one of them played well for them. Albert Haynesworth leaps to mind. Even Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith. No matter who they were, they took the money and laughed all the way to the bank.
Boy I remember the Haynesworth saga…that turned really ugly and I think he signed what was it, 100 mill or something crazy at the time?
Yep… 100 million dollars to lay on the ground.
I believe the litigation post injury got even nastier where Snyder in all his arrogance forgot what guaranteed money in the contract actually means lol.. he is a horrible man who ruined that franchise.
I could not think of a better thread pic today Brad. You’re doing gods work here.
Also I like the business you’re doing with the State there. I think that’s a great service to get housing available when it is in such great need. You’re a good dude.
I stole the pic from whomever posted it the other day, it was in the library.
The business is a lot of fun. I didn’t realize how much I missed doing real work. That 10 years in the corporate world was worse than I thought. Didn’t realize it until I got out.
