Welcome to Vikings @ Bears game day on Skoloholics! The season finale is finally here as the Vikings are in Chicago to take on the division rival Bears. Kickoff is at noon, and weather shouldn’t be much of a factor as they’re expecting overcast skies and light winds with a high of 36 in Chicago today. Skolly has all of your gaming information on the latest Skoldiers Spreads. Vikings.com has the final Vikings @ Bears injury report.

As I’ve been mentioning all week, this game feels fairly meaningless at the moment, but it is important that the Vikings get out of Chicago with a win, on the off-chance that the Cardinals beat the 49ers. A 49ers loss coupled with a Vikings win would move the Vikings into the #2 seed in the NFC. I seriously doubt that the 49ers will lose, but it’s still plenty of incentive for the Vikings to go after a win.
I feel like I say this most weeks, but on paper, this game looks like a Vikings win. The Bears are a 3-13 team playing their second-string quarterback, but they’re also a division rival that is very difficult to beat on their home (crappy) turf. As I mentioned above, the purple and gold have plenty of incentive to win, so I expect to see many starters on the field, at least to start the game. This is a bit of a concern to me, especially on that horrible field in Chicago. The last thing you want to see is an injury the week prior to the playoffs.
The main thing I hope to see today is no injuries. We’ll be looking at the center position, obviously, as we’re hoping to see a much better performance from Reed this week. He struggled last week, particularly in picking up the snap count and cadence. I also want to see this team put together a complete strong game for once this season. It would be huge for the Vikings to build some positive momentum heading into the playoffs.
Second half game thread
Dabares stink, 3 win team who wants to lose
Worth it to get the pick of the litter in the draft
Yep
Dumb fucks. Looks like the ones play the series opening the 3rd.
no double dipping
Call reversed? Said there were 12 Vikings on fhe field?
There was. Plus the refs had no idea with the ball.
2 balls on the field, lol
lots of mistakes on that scramble drill
FG taken away
of course it was, they will need to work on thaat this week in practice
Lol
Kirks fault for throwing a ball short, in the middle of the field, with no timeouts.
Yep, that one is on Kirk and the coaches. No reason to call that timeout with 20 seconds remaing.
Cooks fault for catching it
As of now, the Vikings go into the half up by 13. 19-6, good guys. FG under review.
ftfy
1310WTF. Play calling, clock management.
visions of patch
Horrible decision by Kirk to throw short with no timeouts, just throw it out of the endzone
lol
Think the offense thought we had 3. I had to tell them to run off the field
Lol, hock didn’t hear you
Had rocks on his feet
Bad decision by Cook to catch it
Yep, very poor decision
By cook and beaker
Don’t forget KOC.
He looked good on play calls up until then. Bears were all over those play calls.
Play was down field and beaker dumped off to 3 or 4 receiver
Yep.
I would also like to take this moment to shit all over KOCs play selection on that series. looked good up until then. Bears were all over those plays.
terrible play calling
Good play calls. It went bad when KOC let 15 seconds go off clock then calling timeout: offense shouldn’t ran another play and save the last time out for FG unit
Horrible clock management but refs gave us that one. Refs couldn’t get them the ball
You have to chock that up to a coaching error by Minnesota.
KOC horrible clock management but Kirk can’t throw it short. I think they thought we had 3 timeouts
Yeah koc sucked too but you gotta just throw that away
Wait, did we get the FG? Holy shit.
We did but I think they’ll take it away
KOC needs to do a better job on play selection here.
PLus, Kirk should not have thrown short of the endzone.
O’Connell making Cooks pay for that fumble
Holy shit clock management. If they pulled that off, it’s a miracle.
WTF are they running the ball there for?
No clue. They lost their marbles on that last series.
Holy hell Kirk throw the ball away.
Perfect example right there. Cook hand off 1st and goal he runs straight into a tackler for no gain.
Sure seems like Cook could’ve bounced that outside & gotten the easy TD on that last play.
^not a cold weather back
Bears taking TOs with 57 seconds left in the half.
They really are scared of our pass D. LOL
Soldier Field turf is good when it’s not wet. Any adverse conditions & it’s shit, but today it seems to be in nice shape.
I am a great football mind as I was immediately excited the moment we drafted KJ and said as much when most everyone else shit on the pick.
Dabares defense is actually worse than ours
True
Can we get Mullins in please.
Mick Nullins all next half.
I really like KJ & what he brings to the passing game.
Hey there’s Skolly!
^I knew it
I want to see the Patriots beat the Bills because I want to be a buzz kill lib.
14-14.
Forward progress, fumbles are very amusing for refs.
Vikings subbing ppl in and out. Nailor in
KJ going for a career best game
He’s running uncovered on at least two big plays.
OMG they didn’t blow the whistle on Mattisons second effort. They read my previous comment.
Yep, he never stopped moving forward on this one.
Mattison churning, drives the pack an extra 5-10 yards.
He doesn’t go down easy.
Then we hit KJ for 30 yards the very next play.
Mattison in the backfield.
Gone next year
or signs a team-friendly deal
Refs will control playoffs and SB.
Correct.
Bills for sure
chefs are for real
Whether defense or offense you never get an early whistle that benefits our team only ones that always hurt us. I call BS.
Had an early one took bares first down away
H Snith is vital. Mettelus and Bynum lost
Wait till next year
Just a little ray of happy sunshine, aren’t ya?
Everyone know we are 28th in DVOA, and the D is ranked 31st, and you think we will be shit next year.
Never know, that ‘s what makes it fun
Smith is too expensive for next season, add in a big dead cap hit if they cut him
20 mill
Huge penalty on Peterson not called
lining up the neutral zone?
that helmet strap stuff was incidental
Pass interference and or holding on xpoint
Yup fuck these refs. The league officials hate the Vikings.
Ed can’t stop those short passes.
LOL.
Patrick Peterson is trying really hard to work on his extra point blocking technique. He always gets close but was a little early there.
In the end, it netted us one point. @that was the plan all along@
Bars gonna go for 2 now. Accepted the penalty to move the ball up a yard
Peterson shut down Kmet after the biff, no plan B, bears still in the hunt for the top draft pick
New game
Nah, fluke play.
D stopped playing, thought he stepped out, it seemed. Maybe not.
They did. Was very close everyone thought he stepped out. Fluke play bug gotta play till whistle
that should have been right in front of where you are sitting
Defense looks like they don’t want to be out there
#31
PFF ranks them #4.
Pff must think they’rea soccer team
Oh I know its complete shit. I just like that he would never, ever, ever, ever, mention that.
The only way he would, if our D was ranked 2nd in yards, and PFF had them ranked as the 4th worst. Then it would be all we hear.
It’s a ballgame now.
Who gets hurt now?
Irv….
Lol
Vikings playing starters till half I think
Boyle/Kmet have it going on
Joseph nails the 28 yarder. Vikes up 16-0.
Joseph in THE ZONE
LOL
Reed still struggling. Cousins threw one to the popcorn vendor. 4th down.
That was a nice RZ play lol…
in? I thought you said in kirk
That was on Thielen. Kirk’s a genius he doesn’t make mistakes.
Stellar
Give me 12 personnel and throw to a te
12 is great if you have the TEs for it. Is Irv ready?
Might as well find out.
Irv still shaking off the cobwebs
Any idea why we are running Cook with a 13 nothing lead in a pretty much meaningless game?
Might have a bonus to reach
Offense looking really good today. Balanced, which is something we haven’t seen much of from them this year.
Its nice to see.
KOC is mixing up the play calls nicely.
Loved seeing us go with an empty back field when Chicago was selling out early to stop the run.
Then we hit them with a nice run right after when they went to a base package.
It is nice to see.
Its also against a bad team.
Gotta find the silver lining I suppose.
I’m more concerned about our play selection against their D.
Its nice to see KOC not calling run after run into 8 man fronts.
Cook looks like himself.
