The Minnesota Vikings continued rolling today, as they took control of the game early and they never really took their foot off the gas. Even the rookie kicker had a big day as Reichert didn’t miss a FG or XP all day, including a 58 yarder that doinked off the upright & went in. That kick would’ve been good from 65, distance-wise. Vikings.com has all of the stats and all of the highlights.
The Vikings had a scare when Danielle Hunter went low on Sam Darnold and it looked like a serious injury to Darnold. Thankfully, Darnold was able to return. We’ll keep an eye on on this during the week.
Offense
Sam Darnold and Justin Jefferson were in sync today (not In Sync the horrible boy band, I mean that they worked well together). Jones and Chandler did their jobs in the running game, especially Jones with over 100 yards, and Jones also caught some passes out of the backfield, including a touchdown reception for the Vikings’ second TD. Any day your QB can throw 4 TDs is a good day offesively.
Defense
Brian Flores has put together one heck of a defense, especially considering what he inherited last year. Think back to the Vikings’ last playoff appearance and the horrific defense they had, then compare it to what we’ve seen from them this year. I don’t want to get ahead of myself and call this defense elite, but they’re well on their way. I haven’t had this much fun watching the Vikings defense since maybe 2017.
The Vikings did not give up their first points until half-way through the third quarter. They harassed Stroud all day, kept him confused, and forced a ton of errors. The fans did their part, keeping it loud & forcing penalties. They allowed very few yards through the air or on the ground, and they stifled the Texans offense all day.
Summary
This was a fun game to watch on both sides of the ball, and I have a feeling that this is going to be a really fun season. Final score today was 34-7 Vikings. SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could not be happier with how the Vikings season is going. I expected 4-6 wins and had multiple concerns, but it is all going peachy so far.

That defense is for real, I’m telling you. Darnold is slinging it. The run game is solid. We’re clicking on all cylinders. This team could go all the way this year.
Agreed. This team is balanced, strong in most facets of the game. Interior O line is the only fundamental weakness.

Ravens with 191 yards rushing, after their first possession of the third quarter. 3 minutes into the second half. Up 28-6 over the Cowboys. They keep showing Zimmer on the sidelines.
Yeah, I saw the score. Was kinda hoping that I got that game but I got lions/cards game.
I love seeing the cowboys getting beat, especially at home.
Have been watching that as well, Kitties got a few very favorable calls. Cards’ offense looks anemic, though.
Skol! I know a win is a win no matter how you do it, but games like today are way easier on the heart then all those last minute nailbiters that we usually get.
It feels strange not to be pacing the floor and biting my nails at the end of games.
I might be able to get used to it though.
