Wow, this morning is going to be a long morning for me. I’m taking off a bit early today & getting kiddo out of school a bit early so that we can hook up the boat & get on the road to Devils Lake. The walleye aren’t really biting anywhere right now, but hopefully we can coax them out of their slumber & land a few.
We’re only two days away until Vikings football, as the Vikings will host the Cardinals on Sunday. Kickoff is at noon, unless the game would happen to get flexed to a prime time spot. This is unlikely, but you never know. I expect to see a fairly close game. Now, I expect the Cardinals get a lot of yards on Sunday, but if the Vikings defense can continue to prevent them from converting those yards into a lot of points, then the offense SHOULD be able to do enough to help the Vikings to get the W. I really hope the offense can figure out a way to “click”, as they have yet to put together a complete game this season. This would be a perfect week to get it figured out. Just win, baby. SKOL!!!!!!!!!!

So I can’t delve into the details, but I saw mama bear and her claws last night. There’s been a bit of bad blood brewing between my stepson and us of late, stems from some emotional abuse of the grandkids this summer by his long time live in girlfriend who has him by the balls. Anyhow, last night at 9:30 she wanted me to spend one last night in the RV before I would be pronounced free of leprosy, she asked me to set her phone by the nightstand as I headed out. There was a drunk text to her from him, I told her she wouldn’t want to read it…she did…there was an accusation that I “throw my money around” and “must be nice when money is no object but shit comes around” based on us deciding that we are not waiting any longer for a shirt tail relative to build our promised addition to the shouse.
Well, she read it and the claws were coming out. She said “You should call him”, and I said I told you not to read it. She said I have to do something, I said just text him that MT says fuck you and turn the phone off.
Little while later I could faintly hear her talking. She had called him and he wasn’t picking up the phone, leaving messages. Twenty minutes later I hear her sneaking out, ask her what’s up – driving down to his place. Twenty minutes later I get a text from him, you better come get her or next call the sheriff. LOL!
She said he was locked in his bedroom for 45 minutes, finally came out (had been drinking and stunk of cigarettes) and said I’m calling 911 if you don’t leave. My wife said oh please do, that would be awesome. Oh man what a bitch slap to get from your mom.
Bottom line, don’t drunk text your mom at night unless you want to meet the bear.

The girl laughs about it, says oh man it was so great today she said good morning! Yippee!
To each their own, but what is the big deal? Dad has a crazy gf that leaves us alone. All that does is give them an example of a dysfunctional situation vs the one they have with their ma.

Well, you don’t have to. Usually my parents get there late morning for their favorite spot and the runners join them after the 5k is over (12:50-1:10 or 1:20).
This year though, my 13 year old is on crutches and so we’re looking to get a spot very close to our usual parking spot, which is a premium spot. Anoka says they’ll remove any blankets and chairs set out before 4am, so that’s the best time to guarantee yourself a spot.
