Today is my Friday, as I took tomorrow off so that I could hang out with kiddo since school is out for some reason. We get Veteran’s Day off already, so now I have a four-day weekend. It should be fun, I’m guessing we’ll be snowed in, for the most part. We’re supposed to get around 18 inches of snow, starting tonight and continuing through tomorrow night. Throw in some 25-35 mph winds, and this should be FUN!

I have discovered Trivium recently. Sometimes I like them. I like that they have longer songs. There aren’t enough seven-minute songs anymore. I like some of their riffing. I typically don’t like growling, but Heafy kind of pulls it off. Their soloing isn’t next level, though.
Got to see them live back in Summer of 2011? Or 2012? Hell of a show. They opened with In Waves which was so dope. Intro and build up were huge. Light to Flies is my favorite by them.

I am the tall blurry guy in back with a hat in the top left. The guy next to me was also pretty big. If we were up by the band, the bassist (far right) would be about up to our chest. He was tiny!
Really great bassist though. James Lormenzo. Played with Fogerty, White Lion, Zack Wyld, etc. He was also on Amazing Race once.
I was there to see Dave Mustaine up close. It was pretty great. He answered one of my questions and he stares you dead in the eye when he speaks to you. He came off as pretty chill, otherwise. Got no jerk-vibe from him at all. He almost fell asleep!

I actually wrote a complaint to the organizers of the event that their photographer did a bad job with the group photo. The group photo was one of the things I most wanted out of the experience. The guy literally snapped two shots in about five seconds. I wasn’t even sure it has happened. The lighting in the room was crap, but he did nothing to adjust his camera. Also, the original shot was filled with dead space. I cropped it. He could have zoomed in a lot.
I didn’t want to be a Karen, but it was crappy customer service. I have to take group photos at work sometimes with upwards of 50 people. I line everyone up and have it down in two minutes and everyone is in focus and the color isn’t crap.

Solid song. I love Youtube for it’s ability to put all of these songs at a person’s fingertips. I find a lot of bands I didn’t know. Some fun bands just slip through the cracks over the years.
Like I discovered Hot Cherie by Hardline. They came in at the end of the hairbands, and it’s a catchy hairband song I had never heard before. YouTube gives me immediate access to it.
Trivium is good. I think they toured with Korn when I saw them around 2006ish.

I had never heard of Trivium until this summer, but it looks like they have been around for awhile.
They were the only band who got a bra thrown at them, so they must have done something right.
I didn’t know who they were until that show. They were good. I think they started in the late 90s so by the time I heard them I had already put out a few albums.

Always respected them but there’s something about them that has made me never listen to a whole record. It always seems to clinical, too like I’ve seen them live a few times.
If you like longer songs and great musicianship and struggle with gutteral vocals. Check out the album Damnation by Opeth. It’s their more chill album. No growling what so ever. And their Vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt is one of my favorite metal vocalists. I couldn’t stan gutteral vocals until I got into the Damnation album (again no growling in the entire album) but I enjoyed that album so much I wanted more Opeth and their other stuff is a mix of that more chill Proggy, bluesy stuff mixed with growly death metal and many songs are 8+ minutes.

Lamb of God are the really growly. They are pretty much 100-percent guttural, and that wears me out to listen to. They were the best band to watch live, though. Blythe was all over the stage, and he is like 50 something and just got over COVID at the time. He definitely gave it his all.
The breakdown in Resurrection Man was maybe my favorite part of the concert. Man, the power blasting out of the speakers during that was awesome!
I love Lamb of God. Have seen them many times, have gotten to meet Randy. I was partying with the guys in Behemoth (long story) all getting drunk on scotch I brought and Randy was recently 100% sober. Walks out, see’s what we were doing and goes, “Welp… I’m out of here!” haha. Good for him. I have become friends with some of the guys from Behemoth and they were touring with Slipknot, had to drink on the bus because Slipknot wouldn’t let anyone drink backstage even other bands in their own dressing room.
I like some of Slipknot’s stuff. Psychosocial is fun.
I started listening to Ghost a bit recently. I like Circe.

Bills have had 195 rushing attempts against them, 6th-fewest in the league.
The Jets hung like 175 rushing yards on them and averaged 5.1 per carry…I know its just one game but the Bills rush defense didn’t look great.
PFF has their rush defense graded much lower, too.
