Alright, let’s see how far the Vikings climbed in the major power rankings after their come-from-behind victory over the Commanders on Sunday. The win was the Vikings’ sixth in a row, and their 7-1 record is the second-best in the NFL, behind only the Eagles, who also account for the Vikings’ only loss. Let’s get at it!

NFL.com Week 10 Power Rankings

  1. Eagles
  2. Bills
  3. Chiefs
  4. Cowboys
  5. Ravens
  6. 49ers
  7. Vikings
  8. Titans
  9. Jets
  10. Seahawks

This power ranking baffles me a bit. They have some major fluctuations from week to week, and some of the analysis seems fairly “lazy” to me.

Side note: The Packers are at #22.

  1. Eagles
  2. Chiefs
  3. Bills
  4. Cowboys
  5. Ravens
  6. Vikings
  7. Seahawks
  8. 49ers
  9. Giants
  10. Bengals

This is another fairly consistent power ranking, not a lot of fluctuations here.

Side note: They have the Packers at #18, about 10 spots too high if you ask me.

SI Week 10 Power Rankings

  1. Eagles
  2. Bills
  3. Chiefs
  4. Cowboys
  5. Ravens
  6. Vikings
  7. 49ers
  8. Seahawks
  9. Bengals
  10. Dolphins

This one hasn’t changed a whole lot from last week, except the Titans fell off the list and were replaced by the Dolphins. No change for the Vikings.

Side note: The Packers are at #18. This is far too high, IMO.

CBS Sports

CBS Sports Week 10 Power Rankings.

  1. Eagles
  2. Chiefs
  3. Vikings
  4. Bills
  5. Cowboys
  6. Dolphins
  7. Ravens
  8. Titans
  9. Seahawks
  10. 49ers

The Vikings moved up from #4 to #3. This one has us higher than the other rankings.

Side note: They have the Packers at #28, the most accurate ranking for this horrible team. Here’s a quote:

This is a bad football team. They look lifeless on offense. Aaron Rodgers is struggling in a big way.

Summary

Overall, the top looks similar, with the Eagles in first across the board after the Bills loss. You see a lot of similarities across all rankings, with a couple of deviations on the CBS site.

For the Vikings, 3 to 7 is a reasonable range. I think 7 is too low for us, but it’s not absurd. I find it hilarious that these sites, with the exception of CBS, has the Packers ranked around #18, which is just BARELY below average. The Packers are a far worse team than that, these guys are placing emphasis on the team they were in years past, which is silly. Do the right thing, follow CBS’ lead, and put that horrible team in the basement where they belong.

In the end, none of this matters, but I’d say they have the Vikings about where they should be. A win against the Bills on Sunday would be massive, especially if Allen is able to play. Once the Vikings can get a win or two against better teams, they’ll move up. For now, it’s nice to be toward the top of the list for a change, right? SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting take. Once you get past Philly / KC / Buffalo, the next tier of teams is unproven and has some major holes, us included.

Just keep winning baby!

Maybe this is just drinking the purple drank. But I feel the next tier of teams you are talking about don’t have as much upside as the Vikings with the exception of the 49ers with adding Christian McCaffrey. I just feel the Vikings offense is going to continue to get better as more guys get use to the system with getting Hock more acclimated in the offense plus the defense just continues to get better.
