Wyatt Davis lands in AZ
We’re going to be adding an ad space soon. We’re going to partner with FOCO to help them sell their products. Everything they have is officially licensed. If you order through the link, they’re going to give you a 10% Skoloholics discount. I just talked with their folks, and it seems like a great partnership. They have some cool stuff.
Is that official NFL gear? Or knockoff jerseys?
I have been logging into this site every time I open it up because the top right always says “Account login”
Only just realized I’m actually still logged in and that doesn’t change like the SBNation sites to, lol
So it doesn’t tell you if you’re logged in?
No, I always see “Account Login” in the upper right. I’m used to that either showing that you need to log in, or showing the username of whoever is logged in.
Nothing on the front page shows that I’m logged in, until just above the comment section of any article.
That’s what I see also.
I can actually see if they can do something about that. I need to speak with them about something else today, so I can mention this to them.
So I gotta get my lazy butt off the porch and do some errands and yard cleanup. Next interesting part of the day is in about 5 hours when the initial injury reports come out. Will Allen be LP or DNP? Also a question for the smart people: “Does DNP mean you did not take the field with the team for anything, and even if you do some walk-throughs you are LP not DNP?” I would love to see the official definition. What if i guy runs a few laps with the team nd does the stretching, etc.?
Don’t do it. Doing stuff is over rated.
Working out off to the side while not practicing with the team qualifies as limited (I think).
You said someone smart but I replied anyway
Someone had to do it.
Getting a football conversation on the porch today. Too much non-football stuff on the open thread for me to handle today.
Two things confuse me about our offense.
My opinions
1) We tried doing this at the beginning of the year, and teams were sniffing it out, defenses seem to be stopping us from doing that.
2) Good point. Looking the stats up on PFF right now.
Justin Fields, Daniel Jones, Lamar Jackson, Trey Lance (IR), Zach Wilson, Marcus Mariota.
All of these average over 3 seconds time to throw. Lamar I understand, as that is how their offense runs, much differently than other offenses, although you could say that the Bears have adopted a similar approach in the past couple weeks.
Time to throw, the average time it takes for the QB to throw once he has the snap.
Justin Fields “leads” the NFL at 3.35 seconds.
Cousins is actually doing really well this year. Only 2.65 seconds, toward the bottom of the list, 42nd out of 50.
“Time to throw” is a measure of how good your protection is, as well as your play design. Clearly, quick outs will be thrown faster than the 40 yard pass to JJ. I am talking more about the designed short throw. You do it to hold the LBs in position, to offset a hard Dline rush and to even pull the safeties up a bit. Those are the plays I do not see a lot from the guys in purple. Maybe with TJ, we will go that route a bit.
Ah, I see. Yeah, they don’t use slants and such as much as some other teams do, I’m not sure why that is. KOC uses it more than what we’d seen in previous years from our offense, IMO.
I don’t know who is till available but if Tretter has anything left in the tank, I sure hope we give that guy a look. I also wouldn’t be opposed to signing OBJ. Both KOC and Kwesi are familiar with him, so if they bring him aboard, then they’ve done their due diligence. Regardless, this team needs to start executing better on offense. Or KOC needs to do a better job calling plays. Or both.
I don’t think O line is our issue, although it was AN issue last week, they’ve been remarkably consistent this year, FTMP.
Sure. Washington has a good front. But I imagine we will see more like it in the playoffs. I just don’t think we are good enough on the IOL to be able to beat better teams. I don’t know the numbers of the other teams we have played, but what if last week was consistency, and the is the level our IOL will play at when going against a top DL.
Having tea with my daughter, teddy and meow-meow this morning…
That’s awesome
If I’m going to drink tea, imaginary tea is the best.
I need to move from coffee to tea, at least partially. I drink too much coffee, tea is better for me.
I just don’t like tea. The only tea I used to drink was the sweet tea my mom made, but I don’t drink that any more because it just races through my system.
Yes, tea does race through your system pretty quickly. I love a mint tea. Bigelow Plantation Mint is my favorite, but that name was considered “bad” so they renamed it. Who knows what it is called now.
I tend to alternate a bit. A few days of coffee, then a few days of tea
I like tea, all kinds. I’ll drink a black or green in the morning, then switch to herbals in the afternoon. There’s a great place in town that sells loose-leaf tea, called Steep Me A Cup of Tea. Really great place, very nice owners, good folks.
But right now, I drink none because I drink coffee all day. Something I need to change.
Coffee > Vodka… at least for a morning beverage of choice.
What if you mixed that vodka with tomato juice? Then added some worcestershire, hot sauce, a splash of lemon, celery stalk, and a pickle?
What are you? A vegetarian?
Fine. And a meatstick.
Nice
Thanks Brad
I have enough of the tree cut up and out of te way we can use the driveway to leave
Glad you made it out, and no problemo, amigo.
That 2017 defense was really something.
Power rankings summary is up!
Skoloholics Power Rankings Summary: Week 10 – Skoloholics
Mornin’!
Got a great day ahead of me. Gonna play around on Skoloholics for a while, then I’m gonna go home around noon so that I can finish mowing the yard, then kiddo gets out of school at 3:00 and our 4-day weekend begins!
Sounds fun. Except for the mowing part. I enjoy mowing in the summer, but once it hits October, I call it a wrap.
I was out mowing last night & there’s still snow in parts of the yard.
I normally have it done before now, but was waiting for as many leaves to fall as possible before doing my final mowing. Well, I waited a bit too long. We got snow unexpectedly on Monday, now we have a massive blizzard coming tonight & tomorrow. I need to get finished. Thankfully, I have a rider, so I can knock it out in a half-hour. Then I have to clean up the mowers, move ’em to the back of the shed, then pull out the snowblower & change oil. Hoping I can do all of that in a couple hours.
The BRR months are not made for mowing!
-50 F… and welcome to it!
The year I met my wife, on Thanksgiving morning it was 35 below zero.
I remember this because I always ran the turkey trot, until that year. I didn’t enter it because I was going with her to Montana to meet her family for the first time. I remember leaving that morning and being thankful that I wasn’t out running in that
I had several of my employees (kids just out of high school) move to work in the same restaurant in Fairbanks, Alaska… they said it was -50 a lot and your car would just break suspension parts if you tried to go anywhere
I believe it. Things don’t like to be that cold.
I know, I screwed up & waited too long, got caught with my pants down. Now I have to scramble to beat the storm.
Mowing the lawn in the BRR months…
I use to do the later mowing (wearing a jacket as I mowed) and raking leaves etc, but now I let nature take care of the lawn and leaves once it gets to be October.
God has raked my leaves with a 30 MPH wind for two years running! 3 acres… VERY THANKFUL!!!!
