I haven’t followed the “hush money” trial of Trump. so no idea what the premise is. It’s not illegal to pay someone to not disclose things they know, as far as I know. I have signed dozens of non disclosure agreements in my career. This is basically the same thing to me. Dunno, but it seems like the liberals are just doing anything they can to discredit Trump and paint him in a bad light to the public. Yet, when he was the President, the country did great.

OK, as we close in on draft day, KAM has to have tried working out a deal with the Washington Commanders (Pick No. 2), the New England Patriots (Pick no. 3) the Arizona Cardinals (Pick No. 4), and the Los Angeles Chargers (Pick No. 5) to possibly trade up. The Cardinals and Chargers would represent a thriftier cost, but of course no one really knows what any of the top teams would take to get their draft spot. Also, the Vikings aren’t the only team looking at a trade up deal.

So with all that said, is it practical to trade JJ, Darrisaw, or some other player(s) along with a number of top draft picks, to go after one guy?

I read some commentary by Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady that sort of surprised me about their time in New England. Apparently Belichick was not an easy guy to work for. Gronkowski said there were times when he would be sitting in the parking lot, and not wanting to go into the facility. Brady apparently felt the same way.

Starting to hear lots of stories now about Belichick. Still, given all the championships, he must have done a lot of things really well.
Also heard Edleman say last week we went into every game knowing we were better prepared than any team we played.

Yeah, BB did a great job, game planning against his foes. Always seemed to know what the other team might try to do. Not sure if he had a spy network, or he was just a GD genius.

Played golf with my son Sunday morning. It got very hot and I was exhausted at the end of a five and half hour round. Shot 85 though, so it was a decent day. Wedges weren’t quite as sharp as the last time I played, but in general, I hit the ball pretty darn good. On the 18th hole I hooked my drive into the woods, then hit a miraculous hooking 7 iron, that bent 40 yards around the trees, to about 30 yards from the pin. Hit a wedge to 20 feet, missed the par putt, and tapped in for bogey. The 7 iron out of the woods was really a great shot. Son was impressed.

Very nice! Take advantage of that time with your son. I played golf with my father up until the time he could no longer get around a course. We also brought along my son for many of the adventures. Just a bunch of hackers, we are not any good at all, but it was fun. My father is now in a nursing home and my son is constantly deployed (military). I miss those times. Kind of a “Cat’s in the Cradle” scenario, with my son. He is now just like me, when I was deployed all the time.

Yes, funny how that works. My son hits the ball well, and he’s an amazing chipper. I usually putt around the greens, but he chips everything. I envy that touch. We had a great time, and the two guys we played with, I had played with before. One guy is quite good, the other is terrible. They are really fun to play with though, because the guy who is terrible, plays really fast. He knows he sucks, and he’s good with it. We laughed a lot yesterday, and I beat my son by 3 strokes. So I got that going for me.

85 is pretty darn good for a round that takes that long. Always loved playing with me son – still and will always miss that. Was watching some guys on TV yesterday that could have used your shot making ability – bending a 7 iron 40 yards is one heck of a shot!

Yeah, I knew it was going to be slow. We watched 5 groups go off in front of us and the pace of play was immediately obvious. Hurry up and wait, and that sun beat down on us. Thus, we just tried to make it fun, and play steady. Just ignore the pace of play, talk, joke, etc. I was really tired when we finished though. That last tee shot was the only foul ball I hit all day. It was a bad swing… really bad. Then I hit the miracle shot out of the woods and my son was like “damn”. No idea where I mustered the swing from, to pull it off.

Took The Teacher grocery shopping in Tehachapi yesterday.
We went in and it was just starting to rain, looked threatening. We came out to a full on snow storm. Snowed several hours, was sticking except for the roads. It is the middle of April in SoCal, WTF.
I was wearing a blue sweater and by the time we got the groceries loaded and the cart put away it was a white sweater. Kind of a fun adventure since once we got off the plateau (4000 ft) it turned to rain and then partly sunny by the time we got home.

I have done that, good start to a draft.

There are 10-12 DTs in the draft with similar ratings, 6′ or more, about 300 lbs, RAS in the high 8 to high 9 range, reviews talking fast twitch/good leverage/explosive/quick/etc.

Don’t know enough to distinguish them so sometimes I settle for one later and get another position early.

Probably been watching the Masters for 50 years. Every year, on the weekend especially, they let the greens dry up and get very fast. They are for sure tough, but there’s usually 4 or 5 guys (the leaders) that can handle and put them well still. Not this year.
Think Tiger just wore out. But in his prime, He and Jack have both said they preferred and putted their best when the greens got really fast.

Twinkies down to Detroit already after losing to them 8-0 last night.

Given Correa’s injury added to all the ones they had already they are digging themselves a big hole. They are already 4.5 games back with 3 teams in front of them and they are not playing anywhere near good baseball.

Plenty of season left to get their ‘stuff’ together but they are not showing much to hang any hope on.

Speaking of which Sweat, DT, Texas, 366lbs has dropped from a low 40s ranking into the 90s.

The DUI is the main cause.
Larry Tunsil of say 10 years ago dropped big time after video of him using a bong days before the draft.

I know more about College players the more I mock. Sites have evaluations posted with the players so they give you stats and strength/weakness of most player.

I have found this one the most realistic as they have JJ ranked 8th overall vs in the 30s like some. You can build quite the draft if you can get JJ in the 30s.

Figure I could follow along during the draft better and be disappointed more the more I knew.

I’ll say this about Tiger yesterday. He had to play the final five holes of his opening round before arriving at the first tee to start his second. For a man who said earlier this week that “every shot that’s not on a tee box is a challenge,” 18 holes is more than enough. Especially on the hilliest course players face all year. Add in the cold and windy conditions that make it difficult to loosen up a body pieced together by screws and rods and fused joints, and it seemed that the factors had conspired against him this week.

Yet he played very well, and looked pretty darn good, overall. I’m hoping he shoots a great round today.

He did play well.really well, especially under the circumstances. He still has the best short game in the world and it showed. A couple of random thoughts.
It must be really important to Tiger. Read he is playing on pain meds and cortisone. don’t know about that long term.
Back to sort game, Tiger hit 8 GIR’s and 4 were par 5’s. Means he only hit 4 of 14 other holes. Great short game saved him. Not to take anything away, but he has to start hitting more greens.
Now, the rest of the field. This is the worst group of ‘elite’ players with respect to short game that I can recall ever seeing – putting and play around the green. If Tiger was putting for Scottie, he’d be 12-14 under right now.
Because Tiger is light year’s ahead of field WRT short game, I think he could win. Putting is scoring and scoring is what wins.

I hadn’t heard Tiger was on pain killers and cortisone shots. Might be though. Tiger is flying in the face of the naysayers at the moment. Read some comments on-line about how he shouldn’t be allowed to play in the Masters, because he can’t compete, all he’s doing is trying to make the cut, etc. Just total denigration, without any basis in reality. I don’t know if Tiger will win, and likely he won’t, but I had a feeling he would be competitive. Let’s see if he can pull off a great round today.

Yea – playing on pain meds makes you wonder.
Just because he can put, and the rest can’t, he has a chance
Schoffler and Deshanbeau each miss two or three short puts a round – it’s just crazy. And Rory, plays half brain dead.
It’s really unusual to see such a group of players that are so ‘untidy’ around the greens.

You were right about him making the cut.
I was skeptical he could do it. I even thought he might withdrawl before the second round ended. He just hasn’t been able to finish a full tournament.

He looks good. Not limping.
I still wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t finish the tournament, but it looks like he found something to help him get through the day. Whether it’s adrenaline or something else.

I would love to see him go on a run, but I highly doubt it.

Here’s how I see the Vikings at the moment going into the draft:

QB – weak
RB – decent
WR – strong
TE – strong
O-line – needs help
D-line – needs help
Linebacker – decent to good
Edge – needs help
DB – needs help

Think TE is ‘needs help’ until Hock gets back, whenever that might be.
WRs need a speedster to spread the field, some decent ones late in the draft.
We need quality depth across the board.
Drafting decent, athletic players and letting the coaches polish them up is the way to go, IMHO.

This could change the whole draft for the Vikings.

Per Mike Florio at @ProFootballTalk
, suggests the #Vikings could be waiting to see how the NFL disciplines the #Falcons regarding Kirk Cousins tampering and that there could be a pick swap between the two teams https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f440.svg

The NFL announced the #Cardinals#Eagles verdict just before the 1st round of the draft in 2023.

“The end result could, and perhaps should, be that the Vikings will have the 8th and 23rd picks. Which makes their potential effort to trade up into the top 5 a little easier. Or maybe they’ll just stay put at 8 and wait for a QB they like to fall to them.”

Oh your are right, one was due to tampering and the other was due to tampering.

Totally different things.

And a No. 66 pick (third round) in 2023 from Arizona in exchange for the No. 94 overall pick (third round) in 2023 and a 2024 fifth-round pick. 28 pick drop – an additional pick is completely opposite of a 3 pick swap.

Again don’t know that anything happened or is going to happen but saying that someone speculating is ‘an idiot’ and ‘full of shit’ seems a bit over the top.

Agreed.
If the NFL went to Atlanta and said ‘work something out with Minn or we will impose the discipline’ who knows what they will work out.

Don’t know if Florio is any more or less of and idiot and full of shit than any other expert now a days.

The Zona-Poopeates swap happened the same year as the tampering, 2023, but that might have been due to the agreement.

There are more unknowns than knows at this point. Normally I would say it is silly to argue about but it is the slow season and we have argued about sillier things on this site.

I’ve been saying the whole time through this Trans situation becoming bigger and bigger. I think there would be WAAAYYYY less people trying to convert if we just would have accepted people who were gay, or cross dress. I do think there are a lot of folks if they could just be gay or cross dress and be accepted they wouldn’t feel the need to go under the knife. That goes for kids too. Let the kids explore shit while their young. But instead we have those gay conversion camps where the suicide rate is insane because we sinners tell these kids that their sin makes them such an abomination in the eyes of god if they don’t change so the kill themselves. It’s awful. I do think some of this is on our society being totally intolerant of the gay community to begin with.

think Edge makes a good point.
I lived in DC area for over 45 years and it is very liberal. and I worked for a company that had over 20,000 employees with many gays. It was excepted and really no one thought much about it.
Yet, in all that time, in a very liberal area, I never met or even heard of one person who went under some king of operation. Now, that was five years ago, so maybe things have changed.

I think it has a lot to do with just wanting to feel not judged and recognized instead of ostracized for the person you feel you are. If we just would have just accepted people for that I’d bet the house that there would be WAY less people who feel the need to go under the knife, there would be a lot of folks who would have done their exploring/experimenting in their youth and figure out they aren’t actually gay (but many are). Because what person who is being accepted for who they feel they are, not judged and treated differently would want to put themselves through agonizing surgery and such… I am sure there would be a few but way less.

Being gay is more acceptable. Being a cross dresser is not. Sure there are places it’s more acceptable and probably more acceptable overall but there is still PLENTY of judgement and shit being thrown these people’s way. Try it, cross dress a day, see if you feel you are looked at in a judgmental negative way or not. The people going under the knife aren’t just gay, they feel they are in the wrong skin. The flat tax would de-incentivize purchases which would make the economy stagnant, at least for a while, until businesses had to upgrade due to equipment failures.

I f’d up my return. I TT it, my return is getting rather onerous any more, if I were to print it out it would run 500+ pages. My first time filing an extension and I screwed it up. My CPA buddy said just fill out taxes with info you have on hand, if the late K-1 comes in before the deadline fine but otherwise file a 4868. Well I filed a 4868 no problem BUT I also filed my taxes. Me dum dum.

I pray I don’t get hit with big time IDC’s as that will trigger AMT and I would probably have to do a revised return. I’m okay with amended…fingers crossed.

USPS returned my tax forms to me last year. They couldn’t explain why they sent it to the return address.
I took it back to the post office the nice lady said ‘just put it in and new envelope and re-mail it’.
I had to point out to her that it was my tax return and if I did as she suggested that the new post mark would reflect that it was late.
She said ‘ohhhhh’ and had to jump thru some hoops to resend original envelope with original post mark.

Tiger hit 4 of 4 fairways with his driver this morning finishing his first round. Hits the fairway on his first drive of his second round. 5 for 5 with the driver today.

If a book website has been sending coupons weekly for the last several months, does that mean they are really trying to grow, or does it mean they are floundering and about to go under? It has been rare to get coupons from them in the past and now weekly or more since the beginning of the year. I find it odd.

They are for sure trying to off load books that likely are not selling.
But it’s possible they are struggling and have some business issues.

Well, he’s hitting the ball off the tee very well. The wind makes hitting greens really hard, especially gusting over 35 mph. I think the whole field has to deal with the conditions, so if Tiger isn’t hitting greens, likely the rest of the field isn’t either.

Don’t think so. Rory, scheffler miss a green, they get a bogey. Tiger’s short game is still so good he gets it up and down. He could easily be five over right now.
And he’s solid off the tee – provided he has room to hit a cut. Almost every shot he hits above 8 iron, is a cut. That’s Ok, but does limit opportunities some.

Jack hit a cut at Augusta and did pretty good, not to mention Tiger has five Green jackets.

Jack used to hit 16-17 greens in regulation.
And Jack spent two weeks practicing on hitting draws just for the necessary shots he needed at Augusta.
And when Tiger was younger, he could work the ball both ways very well.

The cut at the Masters is all players within 10 strokes of the leader.
I doubt DeChoko is -13 under after the second round.

Feel much better about or upcoming draft after watching KAMs presser yesterday.
He seems to understand getting the best value out of each situation.

“There are multiple guys we love, and multiple guys we love if we can get them for the right price”.

He also said something to the effect that a player they need to trade up for would have to be worth the price of the other players that they would have gotten with those traded picks.

I often wonder if Ricks trade back in 2021 that turned into Darrisaw was more an accident than a plan.
Seemed like he felt there was other OTs available so he traded back and was surprised when Darrisaw was still there at #23.

I was told, if you’re going to blame him for the bad picks you have to give him credit for the good ones.

He clearly knew that Darrisaw was going to drop to the spot where we picked.

I give him both credit and blame.
Lots of his picks looked good at the time but later not so much.
Is that they fault of the pick or the lack of coaching and support the player got later??

But I was referring to that pick, which turned out great for us, Darrisaw + 2 third round picks.

I actually used to bet my nephews ‘diapers’ when they were teenagers. For example, ‘I bet you 100 diapers you can’t finish everything on your plate’ (they were both undersized).

I told them they didn’t actually have to change them themselves they could just pay for some hot young nurse to do it.

Just checked the ‘Notes’ on my phone and between the 2 of them they owe me just over 8k diaper changes.

I think I’d be really good at it now, no matter how weird it has gotten. Not because I am super amazing, but because I was really, REALLY bad at it previously.

So I have nowhere to go but up. Going from horrendous to average is a big leap!

When I got divorced from my wife, we had been dating since high school so… yeah going back into dating was worrisome and I was 35 at the time, especially for someone who does not like to go hang out at bars lol. BUT dating apps are where it’s at now. It’s where I met my current wife and I am LOVING life!

The needy thing is odd to me too. Like my wife’s younger brother, his wife makes him share his location with her at all times on his phone. Like, wtf? I think the foundation of any relationship is trust and that screams trust issues.
