I saw Stephen A. Smith on ESPN yesterday, he said that Jerry Jones “is not making any sense now”. Well, Stephen A., people have been saying that about you ever since you’ve been on the air. He & Jones must get along great, no wonder he’s such a Cowboys homer. Jordan Love may or may not play against the Lions, and the Panthers continue to wander blindly along through the season.
I spent some time at Recovery Reinvented yesterday. For those of you in Bismarck, it’s a really cool event, even if you’re not a big fan of the governor. They’re doing a lot of good for the recovery community, so I try to support the event every year. I didn’t go last year, but it was in Grand Forks, so who could blame me?

Halloween 2.0??
We have enough candy to do it again, actually about a dozen times, due to the lack of trick or treaters.
We didn’t get a single trick or treater last night. Sigh.
We had about a dozen, if you count the FedEx driver who showed up and accepted some candy.
She dressed up as a FedEx driver which was pretty cool.
My brother and his wife donned garbage bags, as Trump supporters. It was classic.
That was an epic costume choice.
They all came in bunches? But seriously, we haven’t had trick or treaters in years either, there is one street in town everyone goes to (they even have police cars blocking the street there are so many kids there).
Laughing. Nice call there. Yeah, I miss seeing kids dressed up, and trick or treating. Guess parents no longer feel it’s safe.
I told The Teacher to tell the young trick or treaters that she was dressed as a ‘1st Grade Teacher’, that ought to scare them away.
She decided to ‘play nice’ instead.
Joe Flacco continues to be an NFL enigma. He played (started) 12 seasons for the Ravens, and was replaced by Lamar Jackson. Then he signed a one year deal with the Jets, then went on to sign another one year deal with Philly, who traded him back to the Jets. He signed another one year deal with Jets, then last year signed on with the Browns practice squad. When Deshaun Watson went down to injury, Flacco was back on the active roster again, and eventually became the starter. He won the NFL comeback player of the year last year, with his excellent play at age 38.
This year he signed with Indy, as a backup to Richardson, who has not played well, and once again Flacco finds himself in a starting role, trying to rescue a team’s season.
The Jets defense made Stroud look pretty ordinary last night. Aaron started clicking though in the second half, and Adams started catching the ball like the good old days in Green Bay. Rodgers to Adams, is gonna be a thing the rest of the year.
Wilson made some pretty spectacular catches to make The Douche look good.
Yeah, that one handed catch in the back of the end zone was crazy good.

I only get about 20 a year so I am pretty generous. Some moms are like…just take one. I am like…nope!
Kind of sad how kids are followed by parents now. My mom just dropped me off and said seeya later.
It our first time here so we didn’t know how many we would get.
We just got kicked out the door and walked the neighborhood as a group (5 kids).
We never went trick or treating with any adults. Of course we were in a small town.
Same, I grew up outside a town of 500 people. My mom would drop us off at one end of town, we’d meet up with friends and hit every house that had an outside light on. Yes, we trick or treated in the dark. Different times.
When I was on the rez, the obesity rate was INSANELY high. I refused to spend tons of money on candy to make that worse. It was really, really bad. That mixed with my first year where I am living now I spent money on candy and like 2 kids came so I ended up eating all the candy… I just don’t do it anymore haha.
Some of these football players are dumber than a box of rocks. Let’s drop the ball before we cross the goal line.

My logic is sometimes poor.
Used to be everyone voted on election day, votes got counted and we knew by next morning who won.
Now millions vote early which i would think would give officials more time to count (many days), and then have to count less on election day and thus actually be done sooner.
Damn I’m getting dumber.
Trump stated that paper ballots cost 1/8th of machines.
Don’t know if that is ‘one time cost’ or if new machines have to be bought each election to keep up with the ‘anti-fraud’ tech.
If half the votes are now early and you have like 30 days or so and then only have to count the rest on election day – as opposed to ALL on election day, would think you should get done quicker. Some of these states are talking about taking a week – crazy to me.
Most states don’t start counting until election day and some states by law can’t even open the envelopes until election day.
Well I guess that’s why Florida with all it’s people, early voting like everyone else, get’s it all done by midnight.
And the longer and more drawn out the process, the more people will be suspicious of the results.

Cousins offense better than Zim’s defense so far. But Atlanta’s defense is crap and Dallas could still very easily win game. In 50 dropbacks last week, Baker never even got touched.
Certainly the Falcons offense looked pretty good against the Bucs, and their defense looked pretty bad, but I think Zimmer wants to make Cousins look bad as much as anything else. I’m kind of having fun with my fantasy football team. Started out 0-3 and scratched back to 4-4 with a good chance to get to 5-4 after this week.
Then I will hopefully get Christian McCaffrey back soon, and my team will suddenly look quite solid.
I think fantasy football is more fun when you are dealt a crappy team and have to try to put something together with spit and baling wire off the wavier wire.
Iv started 0-3 in many of my leagues and fought back to sneak into the play offs. In 2021 I wont after starting 0-3, won 7 weeks total and then went on a tear in the play offs. You just have to make it to the dance.

I have told the story before that during Covid we started the tradition of having a few drinks at 4 pm on Thursday at the office since all of the bars were closed for a few months. We like it so much that we just kept doing it.

I was also saving for college and had the funds – $210 would have been a lot of money but with my “future note” from Diktor I would have been encouraged to buy.

I graduated in ’76 and would have needed to ‘get the message’ by then. If I had gotten my head out of my ass by ’86 I would have been in position to take advantage of that message.

I just asked them…they said he has an equivocal anterior drawer test and a faint McMurray sign, it would be difficult to entirely exclude meniscal swelling but exam was limited due to muscular hypertrophy. He’s fine.

Almost halfway through the season, the Vikings’ bats have cooled down, and while they’re not allowing a lot of shots on the perimeter, they’re getting beaten in the paint. They’re allowing too many shots against our goalie, he can’t stop them all.
The offense needs to wake up. Be more selective at the plate, stop swinging at bad pitches, put good swings on the good ones.
I wish they’d run more Pick 6 on the power play.
They need to work on the alley-oop in the outfield as well.

Colts defense is allowing 21.5 points a game on average, and our defense is allowing 19.6.
Thus I predict we win 23-17 on Sunday.

I think this game will depend on Flacco and our defense. If our defense is still MIA, and Flacco is maximizing his old man powers, Vikes will lose.
If defense is adequate and offense is adequate, we win.

I grew up Catholic and have never seen this scripture associated with All Hallows Eve.
We went, (my mom forced me) to church on All Saints Day. Nov 1st.
I was just trying to acknowledge that today is All Hallows Eve for some folks. Does anyone besides Catholics celebrate that?
We celebrate it as Reformation Day in Protestant Land, so it does get acknowledged.
What sort of Protestant Land? Pentecostals do not celebrate it.

In the church circles I hang around in out here, we have a group called Celebrate Recovery. I was actually a group leader about 10 years ago, but moved and haven’t been in touch. Shame on me.
Great stories of people whose lives were a mess and are now on the right track.
Our church has that program to, great ministry. Good for you for being a group leader.

We’re gonna be up north of you next weekend for deer hunting, it will be kiddo’s first deer hunt. He doesn’t get to shoot, but he can walk.
Please shoot a lot of deer…shoot some in town as well, while you are at it bag a dozen turkeys or so….we have way too much wildlife running around here slowing down traffic.
You know we are intruding on their land, not the other way around – Some stupid lib.
Ha! But that is true….we do need to let the coyotes come in and help fix our turkey over population problem.
Hunters should probably pay reparations.

This reminder is probably unnecessary. It looks like everyone has picked but one, and that person often waits until Thursday, but I like to be thorough and remind anyway. It’s OCD.
