Minnesota Vikings Discussion-SkolAsylum Weekend Edition: 21-22 December 2024

Weekend

Welcome to the weekend, everyone, and welcome to Skoloholics, your home for Minnesota Vikings Discussion! Every day you can join us for the latest Minnesota Vikings news, lots of Minnesota Vikings talk, also NFL news and updates, and most anything else you may have on your mind. At Skoloholics, the real action is in the comments, so if you haven’t checked out the comments section yet, sign up and join the conversation.

Saturday Football

It’s football day today! The NFL wasn’t milking QUITE enough money out of the players and fans, so they’re playing on Saturday. Just kidding……no I’m not. Anyway, the Texans are in KC to take on the Chiefs at noon, and the Steelers are in Baltimore to take on the Ravens at 3:00. Both are AFC games, so no implications on the Vikings season, but tons of implications for some of you in fantasy football.

Vikings Talk

I was curious, because it seems like our punter’s field flipping abilities have diminished this year, so I looked up the league punting stats at Football Database. Vikings punter Ryan Wright is currently 28th in the NFL in average punt distance, and 29th in the league in average net punting distance (punt distance minus punt return yardage). Wright is in the final year of his rookie deal, and will be a restricted free agent after the season, per Spotrac. My guess is that we will have a different punter next year. Hey, at least we’ll have something to keep our eye on in the college playoffs, do some scouting to see if we can spot the next Ray Guy…..err…..Greg Coleman.
Here’s one list of 2025 draft prospect punters from bnb football.

A cool piece on one of my favorite people, Teddy Bridgewater.

Vikings News

From Vikings.com, the final Vikings @ Seahawks week 16 injury report, and a Vikings @ Seahawks game preview.

A pretty cool piece on Brian Asamoah over at MSN.

NFL News

Kyle Shanahan stresses the importance of a coach being able to adapt, from Yahoo Sports.

Keep up with injuries around the league at CBS Sports’ NFL week 16 inujury tracker.

ESPN has predictions, injury news, and updates for each week 16 NFL game. The Vikings are 3 point favorites on the road in Seattle.

Media Selection

I love this guy’s podcast, and this is a good interview with comedian Tim Dillon. Enjoy!

Thread Guidelines

  • Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
  • Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
  • Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
  • All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Regarding that clip of Teddy talking about his knee injury, many of us at the time correctly thought he tore his ACL during the juke in the Charger’s game. Can’t help but wonder if he had said something then, may have prevented the disastrous injury later.

The Biden administration quietly rolled out a controversial new program aimed at providing LGBTQ+ education to students, including lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation, without requiring parental consent. The initiative is part of a broader push by the outgoing administration to advance progressive, woke education onto kids and indoctrinate them behind parent’s backs.

I hate this shit.

The Vikings shouldn’t be outbidding anybody.
Offer Sam $25 million per year and let Sam decide if he wants more cash, or the opportunity to work with KOC, Jets, etc….

Meanwhile, Jones has his eye on doing the Darnold in 2025 with KOC.

The whole CFP seeding has proven to be a joke.
No way Boise St and Arizona St should be getting byes.

OR, TX, PSU, GA or OSU should get the byes.
Let the smaller schools play the first weekend.

Im fine letting in some smaller schools with good records, but don’t seed them as a top tier team better than the power schools.

Go Bears!!!
Go Redskins!!

Vikings could be #1 seed by tonight.

A bombshell 17,000-page report was just dropped, detailing specific instances where the Biden administration has weaponized the federal government for political gain. The extensive document, compiled by the House Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, outlines claims of misuse of federal agencies to target political opponents, suppress dissent, and influence public opinion. This raises serious questions about the integrity of the federal bureaucracy and the Biden Administration’s four years in office.

During the nearly two-year investigation, exposed a “two-tiered system of government,” with the committee finding several cases of censorship, whistleblower retaliation, and the politicization of federal agencies and top law enforcement.

But of course Edge will tell us we’re all misled sheep, and both sides do the same stuff. The Biden administration is the most corrupt I have ever seen, and the Dems are a huge threat to this Nation.

Biden is so happy Trump won, it isn’t even funny. He got pushed out by his own party, and he immediately endorsed the worst candidate in history for President, to thumb his nose at them.

Harris reportedly “congratulated” Trump in a phone call, but then basically chided him and said he had to be a President for “all Americans”. As if he hadn’t been, which is completely wrong. More minority businesses were created in Trump’s first Presidency than at any other time in history. That’s the real truth.

In her concession speech at Howard University, Harris emphasized that “while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.”

Make no mistake. Neither Harris nor the Dems accept the will of the American people. They lust for power and control of the country, and Trump is firmly in their way.

I know a few things.

  1. College football playoffs are fun with the on-campus games. They should keep it that way up to the championship game
  2. Our punter is going to be gone next season
  3. the 4 NFL teams that play today, rotate and play again on Christmas. If you do not like any of these teams, no football fun for you.
