Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
I think the Vikings could get into the playoffs with a 10-7 record. I don’t think 9-8 will do it. So we have to go no worse than 6-2 for the rest of the season IMO to have a chance.
The Vikings could beat anyone, they could also lose to anyone.
So ‘Hope for the best but expect the worst’ still looks for the best strategy going forward.
My wife just purchased some spice from a company called “Frag Out” which is Veteran owned. The spice is called Maple Bacon Garlic.
Bet it would be awesome on pork chops…..
You could probably get a similar spice at Walmart for cheaper.
If fact we are going grocery shopping later today so I will look for it’s equivalent.
Yeah, burgers and pork chops I’m thinking. She has a huge assortment of spices. She likes hot sauces and spices, I like more savory stuff.
The Teacher picks up random spices all the time.
She spent months looking for ‘Chinese 5 Spice’ or some such. Don’t think she actually has used it on anything.
My wife likes to cook, and she has hundreds of recipes. She makes all sorts of things and I benefit from that. She made pot roast yesterday, and it came out so good. The gravy she made in that thing was off the charts, and the potatoes, carrots, onions, etc were all perfectly cooked. Just friggin delicious.
The Teacher makes her ‘Special Stew’ that takes her hours and is pretty dang good.
I throw some stew ingredients into a slow cooker and it takes me a couple of minutes and is ‘almost’ as good.
She hasn’t made her stew for several years now, the ‘juice isn’t worth the squeeze’ especially since I have never had the chance to develop a ‘sophisticated palette’..
I’ve heard good things about that one. I think Scheels sells it but I haven’t tried it. The Meat Church line of seasonings are pretty darn good though.
I think she has some Meat Church seasonings.
Scheels carries that brand. I have not tried them yet.
Is he right?
Rec for Truth.
Full time refs won’t matter at all.
They will become full time and the same garbage will happen after they become full time.
They will still be “fan boys”.
It’s what the league wants.
I’m off for my annual meeting with my financial advisor. Hopefully I have enough money to buy freezey another lake house.
Getting one of those has been our ‘too do’ list for a year or so.
We have a couple of good recommendations but I kind of like having money readily available since the election and all the ‘tariff drama’ and such.
We met with the Chase people but didn’t like their woke company de-banking people and their $3B Headquarters they build in NYC that they are not even going to fill with workers anymore.
Still need to get it done.
At least you have enough money that you have a financial advisor.
No need for me to have that yet…
Yeah, I don’t need an advisor to tell me what I can do with what I don’t have.
I manage my own.
Get a brokerage/retirement account and buy the S&P and NASDAQ indexes.
It’s not that hard these days.

This is hilarious…
Tuesday
Oh good.
I was afraid it was Monday again.
Fell asleep during the game last night. Not surprised the Patriots won. The Jets first drive looked good, but they didn’t do much after that.
It’s weekend eve, so wake up! It’s gonna be a great day!
SKOL! FTP!
When football was football…
I will see your 53 years ago and raise to 56 years ago. Only ‘Old time NFL video ever needed’.
Nice!!!
Hmmmm what do you notice here?
Ummmm?
We are at the top of their list?
Of course statistics will tell you whatever you want if you torture them enough.
JJ should have time to throw!!!
Forget about the run game, throw throw throw!!!
That is what the chart implies. The Vikings defense has the highest pressure rate under 2.5 seconds in the league, and the Bears defense has the lowest.
One can naturally conclude that Caleb will be under more pressure than McCarthy in this game.
We hope that is the case.
Jets score first in case anyone cares.
7-0 half way thru the 1st.
Judge orders 600+ Illegal Aliens in ICE custody to be released by Nov 21st.
I assume that some appeals are forthcoming.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/judge-ordered-release-600-chicago-illegal-immigrants-slammed-dhs-activist-putting-lives-risk
Another idiot Judge. If this country is going to empower judges with this much power, we need a hell of a lot better vedding process. And a review process to throw them out if they are hacks.
Its all political, and any ‘vetting’ or ‘review’ process will be as well.
I’m pretty sure some of these guys couldn’t pass a basic law test.
Sure they could.
How could you go around the law if you didn’t know the law.
They wouldn’t get paid much if they did’t.
He agrees with us…
This was in 2014 BTW and CNN and the Democratic party haven’t changed their position one bit in the last 11 years.
Hmmmm…
Please don’t go diva mode, Jets.
Injury news…
Looks like now JJ is McHealsFast.
For your viewing pleasure…
Lost 10 years off the end of my life because of that game.
Those last ten suck anyway.
Probably true
But you still have a new set of the last 10 years.
Hopefully those don’t suck.
😬
Kirk still sucks
Kirk throwing it short on a must have first down…what a loser!!!
JJ literally saving that pass from being his 3rd pick of the game…
The Bills lost this game by fumbling in the end zone at the end rather then the Vikings winning the game because of this pass.
Man JJ is a stud, saved that pass from being a 3rd Pick.
Yep.
It was headed into the hands of the defender until Jets reached up and grabbed it.
Lol People downvoting this being willingly ignorant to defend Kwerk. You just watched the play, you know thats what you saw.
There is something about nice November days. I really like them. They have a melancholy sweetness about them.
I agree, and Thanksgiving his my favorite holiday.
Only bad thing about November is that golf season is over.
It doesn’t sound like Kelly will be available this week against the Bores, but he could be back next week.
Headed out to lunch… behave yourselves…
You are not the boss of me!!
#grin
Or anyone for that matter
It never works when I tell you guys that.
VP, you are a soft-spoken, kind, bespectacled book store clerk, we all love you but none of them are going to listen to you.
i’m one tired man.
i’ve been making trips to the storage unit for a couple weeks, packing, loading, unloading etc…
last night got the house completely empty (moved it all into a moving truck, thank you friends who helped)
today we are cleaning the entire house and the buyers walk through is at 5pm.
tomorrow we close, and i start emptying said storage unit, into the garage at the new place
saturday we unload the moving truck
i see the light at the end of the tunnel
I don’t see anyway that is going to work.
Yeah.
Kind of like changing a car battery…….
Reminds me of the good old days when we didn’t have a pickup. The exotic ways we got things like washer and dryers into the ol’ Subaru Forester.
I remember going to the local grocery store one Sat Morning. A lady had bought a bunch of patio furniture and she and a couple of store employees were tryng fit it all into her mini-suv.
I smiled for a bit and then thought, ‘wait, I have a pickup’. So I told her ‘Ma-am I have a pickup if you are not going far I can help you get it home’. She was desperate so she agreed, we loaded it up into the pickup and I followed a half a dozen blocks to her house.
I unloaded the truck onto her driveway while she said ‘let me get my lazy husband out here’. I replied ‘I have no doubt he worked hard all week and deserved a nice lazy Sat morning’. She stopped, thought and then agreed.
Plus I got my ‘good deed of the day’ taken care of early. Win!
Wow that was very nice of you.
I was just ‘Virtue Signaling’.
Spoken like a true lib
I don’t think I have ever heard a Lib admit that they were Virtue Signaling.
Maybe you spend more time amongst them than I do.
When she turned right out of the parking lot, you should have turned left, or at least started to.
I think it was a divided road so I would have had to wait until the next intersection.
Plus I didn’t want any of that patio furniture, pretty cheap stuff, bought at a grocery store.
Never understood why somebody would go to a grocery store to but something like that.
I’ve never figured out why people go to Menards to grocery shop.
Didn’t know that was a thing. I remember Menards only being hardware. I do miss Mills Fleet though.
I see at least 2-3 people buying groceries only, every time I go to Menards.
Usually, they are ahead of me in line and take forever.
Figured it was an impulse buy as she had no plan to get it home.
Back in my young, running days, i was doing our normal Sunday morning 20 mile run with my 2 training partners, and an old lady flagged us down. “BOYS, can you help me move something?”. So the 3 of us go into her house and she wanted a piano moved from the 2nd floor to 1st floor. It took us an hour to do it, between the three of us, we weighed a total of 400 pounds.
It was a long 2nd half of the run
An hour? Suuurrreeee. More like 10 minutes to move the piano and then 50 minutes for I don’t want to know what.
Sounds like the plot from an adult movie.
That’s what I was thinking.
Lonely cougar sees three strapping young men going by on the sidewalk and figures one of them should be able to cure what ails her. PA forgot to mention that only two of them finished the run.
You ever move a puano down stairs???
We had to clear furniture and crap. Ok,maybe not an hour, but we got it done.
Should have used gravity to move it down to the 1st floor.
Some of the piano would have survived.
You’re a good man Charlie Brown!
That sounds like a major PITA.
it’s not ideal, but it’s the way it has to go….
when you don’t make gouger money you have to do things the cheapest way LOL
We did plenty of moving on our own, filling up a moving van, towing a car, etc…only we didn’t do it in town, we did it over 1000 miles each time. You are correct though, my employer did pay for pros to move us from Roch to Billings and Billings to Glendive, which was pretty sweet.
Now I have a couple of tractors with pallet forks and a couple of shipping containers, life is pretty sweet when it comes to putting outdoor furniture away from the winter, etc…
You’ll be pleased to know now that we have the neighbor place (which I call the Love Shack™, my wife has come up with at least a dozen projects that we (that means me with her supervision of course) can do together, like pulling out the shite hot water heater, putting in a whole house water filtration system, tankless water heater, pull up linoleum, lay new flooring etc etc etc. This weekend I get to pull chicken wire off a bunch of wooden posts, pull an old gas heater out of the dilapidated farmhouse, change out the door on the shop and replace it with one off the dilapidated house. This so the guy we hired to come in with a track hoe can demolish the house, outhouse, and pumphouse and drop it all in a pit.
Happy wife, happy life.
BTW it is a JD 160, I was disappointed he didn’t have a Cat.
Ahhh the ‘moving saga’ I remember it well.
Just over a year ago we finished ours. I figure I have moved about 15-17 times given my military career. Hopefully I am finished with all that.
Embrace the adventure.
thankfully, i have only moved one time since being married (moved from apt to house, where we lived for 14 years)
LUCKY!
I understand the pain, two years ago, we moved my daughter in with the wife and myself. Then moved to our current house, then moved my daughter into her current house.
She sold her first house, not even listing it. We had an employee that needed a house and my daughter was planning on putting hers on the market, but wasn’t ready to at that point. So she had to move in with us.
I read this line and immediately thought you must have changed a battery
Also, the store manager where you had that interaction about where to put the battery sucks and is bad at his job
The last time we moved (27 years ago), we bought our new house but had not sold the old one yet, so we were able to be a little bit more leisurely about moving. When I was at work, my wife who was 7 month pregnant with our daughter, would pack up some boxes, load them and the 2 boys (5 and 2 at the time) into the minivan and make the 40 minute drive to the new place. While the boys played, she unloaded and unpacked or at least put the boxes in the appropriate rooms. She did that for at least a couple of weeks. For the final push, we had a bunch of relatives come with trucks and trailers and we did the final push all in one shot. And yes, the old house sold shortly after that.
I’m going to win the Montana Million this year and then just keep my current house to rent out so it isn’t a rush to move out when I buy land.
Good plan.
When I bought my SoCal house the escrow lasted longer than expected. I got the sellers to agree to give me the garage remote.
I moved everything I had into the garage when I had to vacate the MH I was living in and I lived out of that garage for a week or so.
I would get up in the morning go to my SILs for a shower and to change for work. Then after work I would go to the garage and sleep in a recliner for the night. Fun times.
Look at money bags with his TWO houses AND a moving truck AND a storage unit……
lighting cigars with 100 dollar bills no doubt…..
congrats FF
Don’t forget the lake houses.
He let me sleep in the garage of this one one time. I wasn’t allowed in the actual house.
Did he let you have cake?
That doesn’t look comfortable.
I would have come and helped, but I didn’t realize it was this weekend. My wife made other plans for me…
So we got this going for us…
Bores have a lot of DNP on their list

Great minds… grin.
Crunchy peanut butter is bullishit, I will fight you

We’re talking peanuts here, not mushrooms
You must be on mushrooms if you don’t like crunchy peanut butter.
It sucks, cut it!
Better pack a lunch.
Hell yeah, a lunch with delicious creamy peanut butter Sammy
Hmmm,
Looking at a BBJ with peach jam and chunky peanut butter for lunch.
Is a BBJ the Jamaican version of a BBL?
PPJ.
I blame dumb fingers.
Haven’t seen Pete around here for awhile.
PBJ.
I will get eventually.
I’ve always been partial to apple butter or orange marmalade in a pbj
Apple Butter be good.
this is one of the dumbest takes i have ever seen you have…
and you’ve had a TON of dumb takes.
true I have many dumb taekes, this is not one of them you should take the crunchy peanut butter and
I agree. It is called peanut butter, not peanut rocks and sand.
Old Home Crunchy Peanut Butter.
Peanuts and Salt. Nothing else.
It is the best peanut butter unless you go to a hippie type store and grind your own.
I saw the RC plane in yesterday’s thread. I am actually going to fly an RC plane tomorrow with my cousin’s husband. He is big into RC planes.
And by “fly,” I likely mean “crash” an RC plane tomorrow.
Cousin’s husband doesn’t particularly care, though. He actually 3-D prints cheap RC planes now to goof around with.
When I first looked at this comment I just saw “cousin’s husband” and I was like Julie is transgender!?
Kirk will forever live in our minds.
Sounds like a great time!
He says he has a pair of VR googles connected to a plane, so I hope I can experience that. That would be pretty cool, methinks.
I have one that I never assembled. I have thought about trying to design one to 3d print. I accidently got a filament that is designed for printing aircraft.
It is pretty easy to print them, I guess. Plenty of templates for all different types on the Interweb.
Can these planes carry any weight, and do they have any identifying marks on them like serial numbers? Just curious.

So PA is a trained geologist… that is very cool.
When it comes to climate change though, the only true factor that affects it is the sun, not CO2.
The warming from the Sun is cyclical, it’s NOT constant. The distance of where you are from the Sun is constantly changing because both the Earth’s orbit around the Sun is irregular and the Sun itself wobbles due to the combined gravitational pull of all the planets together.
The combined mass of the planets move the position of the Sun through their combined gravitational pull, meaning the Sun moves around following the ever moving barycenter of the Solar system rather than being in a fixed central point in the middle of the Solar System. That is the key thing to understand: the Sun is moving around, wobbling in spiral like motion as it travels, it is not stationary. Once you understand that all medium term climate change can be explained simply because of the Sun’s changing distance from the Earth.
None of this has anything to do with humans. None of this has anything to do with CO2.
You also need to factor in volcanic activity. The Hunga-Tonga underwater volcanic eruption in January 2022 increased the water vapor in the stratosphere by 10%, this in itself will cause some warming of the planet in most regions.
It’s definitely not a simplistic neat black and white story of CO2, a minor greenhouse gas, as 95% of the earth’s greenhouse gases are constituted by water vapor not manmade, or animal made gases.
Humans have no power to determine either the orbit of the Earth around the Sun or the Sun’s internal & external activity, or the water vapor in the atmosphere.
In the end, we have been deceived by a systematically corrupt scientific funding system linked to monetary interests.
CO2 was always a control knob for economic prosperity, not the climate.
That’s a lot of information. It’s going to take me about a week and many drinks to digest all of that.
Regardless, Gore, Bernie and AOC don’t know crap about the climate.
So Gore was the initiator of the great “Climate Crisis Cash Cow”. Politicians use it to scare the hell out of the population, and of course scheme up taxation to accompany it, all to make themselves wealthier, and more powerful. It is one of the most insidious deceits in the history of mankind.
Climate Change became a religion to lots of Woke/Libs/Dims.
They are all becoming Atheists now.
The Sun is definitely a large part of it.
The Earth’s angle is another large part of it.
The Earth’s angle has a history of changing and wobbles every 10,000 years or so, which changes the climate.
Yes… PA also added some criteria I hadn’t considered like continental shifts that change ocean currents, etc. Good stuff.
The atmosphere itself isn’t fully understood either.
There is a theory that at the edge of the stratosphere, the Earth is able to release various air pockets to control the temperature and is able to self regulated the components of the atmosphere itself.
Not proven. But a theory.
You are correct. Cyclical changes in tbe sun are a driving factor in climate cycles. The earth as well wobbles. Some of tbese wobble are short term, some are longer term. Continents are also moving. Their configurations determines ocean currents which drive long term climate. In addition the liquid portion of the earths core is flowing and moving. That behavior changes, which causes the magnetic north to shift, and even flip. I have to believe that shifts in thisflow impacts the wobble in our orbit and rotation, which would impact climate.
What i do have problems with is when short term issues get flagged as climate change. Canadian wild fires, flooding in North Carolina and Hurricane Melissa are recent examples.
This is all very complicated, but will have little or no impact on the Vikings routing tbe Bears
PA wins the internet today with that comment.

What if we go full Bud Grant and not use heaters on our sideline??
That will learn them.
Somebody was actually complaining on XM radio yesterday about how the Ravens don’t start games well when it’s a cold game, “like this last game in Minnesota”.
While the Earth distance from the sun does vary by about 3 million miles (it is closest to the sun in January) due to the Earth’s elliptical orbit, and sure the gravitational effect of the planets (predominantly Jupiter) might cause the sun to move slightly, the motion of the sun relative to the Earth would be miniscule, given that 99.8% of the mass of our entire solar system is contained within the sun. I’ve never seen an exact citation but I would imagine the wobble would be measured in meters, not millions of miles. It’s like saying that an astronaut working on the outside of a space station that has 99.8% more mass than the astronaut can affect the orbit of the space station, or for that matter a space station can affect the Earth’s orbit.
As PA states below, the Milankovitch cycles leading to ice ages etc have to do with the long term variations of the Earth’s tilt and orbit.
The beauty of all of this is if you are a theist and believer especially in the Old Testament all of this is just bullshit so no need to engage in head scratching theories.
One of my first comments after the game was wondering what injury will pop up for JJ this week.
And here we are…..
Can we rebuild him??
#1 ability is availability
He’s lasted another two full games before an injury.
Just another internet rube. What does he know about playing QB in the NFL?
You can only have a valid football opinion if you played Football at some no name college in the 1960s and 1970s when the game was 90% running and the concept of passing through the air was a wild concept.
I’ve even heard of QBs from that era getting yelled at by their coach for throwing the ball. You would have to play in that sort of football to truly understand the current NFL dynamics.
Love TK, he may not have been elite but he knows the position
Two Minute Tommy…..
Love me some TK
I thought it was two fisted Tommy…
Interesting story; my old boss told me he once went to a Vikings game and had heard about a bar the players often visited after the game. So, he and his buddies decided with a couple of minutes left in the game, they would leave and rush to the bar. By the time they got there Tommy was already half a drink in at the bar.
I don’t doubt it….. man likes to pull a cork.
Hey guys, check out the picture I got of the Northern Lights!
Why you got to antagonize Brad like that??
Facts check out.
This tracks, but I am going to keep trying.
Actually I am really good at fishing, I suck at catching.
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
FTB!
Happy Thorsday!
Skol, FTP, Vikings by 17 on Sunday. Hopefully Caleb’s mom is at the game so he has somebody’s arms to cry in.
He will need a hug from Mommy…
Thanks for the new thread Brad.
And as always FTP.
That was good.
Good one! LOL
