Hey, it’s finally Friday! It’s a weird week for me, I had a three-day mid-week vacation, so I’m back to the grind for a day, then back into the weekend. I will be working tomorrow for a bit, as work tends to pile up whilst on vacation, but that’s okay. I’m taking Monday off since kiddo is off from school, so it’s not so bad.
The vacation in Minneapolis was a lot of fun. Even though we felt like we were visiting a dying city, the Timberwolves game was a blast, as I mentioned yesterday, and the tour of U.S. Bank Stadium was really fun and well worth the ticket price. I think we paid $40/person for the tour, but it did not disappoint. J.B., our tour guide, was absolutely awesome. We got a great walking tour of the main areas, but also got to see the suites, the national broadcast booth, the locker room, press area, and lots of other parts of the stadium you wouldn’t get to see as a fan. I highly recommend taking the tour if you are in Minneapolis & have the time.
Here are some pictures of our tour. I think kiddo is going to put a story together to post on here with more details, so I’ll just post a couple pictures & let him do the rest.

Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another
Better late than never. Here you go!
Sometimes, you learn things when you watch games after the fact. I finally watched a replay of the Super Bowl. Wanna know how to beat the Chiefs? Sack Mahomes 6 times, and get a total pressure rate over 51% while never blitzing once. Philly brought no more than 4 guys on every single play. They brought 3 a number of times, and still pressured Mahomes.
Simple.
We have the outside rushers to bring the pressure, not so much the DTs.
On obvious passing downs we could line up Greenard, Van Ginkel, Turner and Jones II, that could ‘get er done’.
Good morning, cloudy and 68 degrees today down here in Tampa. Looking at highs in the mid 80’s.
Looking at lows of 60 below zero here on Monday. Might want to wear a jacket.

A Mock Draft with a trade that i don’t hate.
https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2025/02/13/vikings-trade-down-in-new-mock-draft-still-land-offensive-line-help/
Yum
Don’t know what that is.
Looks like a little piece of meat.
Filet Mignon
Ahhh
The Teacher had a sirloin at Outback yesterday,
I just had some Alice Springs Chicken.
My tastes are not sophisticated enough to justify the cost.
I grilled these myself. Also had shrimp cocktail.
The Dem’s continue to blast away at Trump telling everyone he is illegally wrecking everything, and hurting people with everything he does. I swear, if Trump solved world hunger, the Dem’s response would be “he’s making everyone fat”.
I have learned that my quality of life is improved if I just ignore the DemoCruds.
It is not as if they say anything important that will effect the real world.
Victory in Europe day!
Again?
JD wasn’t messing around yesterday.
Happy VD day!
I think penicillin will help
Some of those VDs are too tough for penicillin.
Glad I don’t have to worry about those issues.
Me too
Just got a text inviting me to a “Not My President” rally. I replied with this

Wonder if they will figure out that it is a ‘NO!’.
Bots ain’t that smrt.
Smarter than some of the woke types I have seen.
Low bar…
None lower it seems lately.
😂
Homan, kick AOC’s ass please. Thank you.
I second that request.
#Even Tuesdays
Hoping he is working the muscle between his ears as hard as he is working the muscles around his knees.
He’s bulking back up.
Wonder how far/well he could throw the ball with arms like that.
Would they interfere or would he throw it so far/hard that Jets health would be in jeopardy?
I think the range of motion could be hampered. Besides, the lower half of the body makes one go from “good arm” to “cannon”.
ahhh, that’s why I can’t throw a ball very far…I am just too ripped.
Sounds like they’re going to let Sam test FA, JJ is the future (of course), and he keeps mentioning Daniel Jones in these interviews so I assume that means they hope to bring him back as possible low-risk, low-cost bridge until they know JJ is ready.

He, or Thelien, could be a decent #3 WR option.
Cost and contract details are vital of course.
*Caveat, Thelien would need to leave his wife in Carolina.
Just what we need, spend millions on an old WR running long routes that take five seconds to develop.
Maybe he could be our short route specialist?
He would run so slowly that the LB would overshoot, and be in the perfect position to catch the ball at the LOS and fall forward for one yard.
His lack of speed would be offset by the short distance he would have to go.
And your point above about ‘spend millions on an old WR’ is offset about my comment that ‘Cost and contract details are vital of course’.
Rec for post with multiple Gifs to address my multiple points.
Little know football fact, Phil Robertson was the quarterback at LSU and one year ahead of Terry Bradshaw, he quit after his second year and told Bradshaw “I’m going for the ducks, you can go for the bucks”.
“I’m going for the ducks, you can go for the bucks”
Bucks as in $$?
Not sure that there was of $$ involved ‘back in the day’.
Duh.I mean yep, dollars.Louisiana Tech
Good catch.
Turning 32. Thielen 35. Pass.
Think Ham gets released.
I think someone says this every year and every year Ham is back and the coaches give him praise for all he does for the offense.
He can block. Team might be more interested in cap space. Don’t know.
‘He can block’
Hoping to mitigate part of the problems caused by the IOL.
Think they can get close to 3 mil cap space. Think i read that. Fix the line play.
Ham is a tad faster.
I think that was a V-day gif.
RE the post on the other thread: Does that mean that once you are done having children, you are done having sex? Does that mean they need to outlaw Valentines Day? Will they shut down all the pron sites? Will the authors of the bill submit to a lobotomy?
I don’t they thought it all the way thru.
Woke logic does not require that.
Suspect that they had the lobotomy before authoring the bill.
It’s mandatory when you sign up for the democrat party.
I had a Tues to Thurs work conference over in Green Bay this week. We were kept pretty busy so we didn’t even have time to go visit the stadium. Now it’s back to the grind.
‘over in Green Bay’
Hope you showered thoroughly once you got back.
I did. Also many times while I was there. However, I forgot my toothpaste so I fit right in and people didn’t know I was a Vikings fan.
Hopefully you didn’t overdose on Gravy while you were there.
Did you carry a mug of gravy around with you?
Why didn’t I think of that?

A greeting good for Valentines Day or any other day of the year!
Since my last greeting was OBE (Overcome By Events, ie new thread) I will just have to post it again.
Happy Valentines Day all.
And Happy Anniversary to JR and his lovely (I assume) wife.
Happy Valentines day, and definitely Happy Anniversary to JR and his bride!
I hate Hallmark holidays.
Happy Wife-Happy Life.
So I have to put in at least a little effort into the day.
My wife would flip out (not in a good way) if I spent money on some knick knack on February 14.
I took The Teacher to dinner and sent her e-Valentines day cards.
No ‘knick knacks’ involved.
Alas, we have never really been the types to enjoy fine dining out. The problem with cooking on V-Day is it is always so farking cold out, hard to grill a nice steak and all the fixings when it is (checks thermometer) -3 out.

Fine Dining???
We went to Outback because we had a $20 off coupon.
Yes, we old!!
We went out to eat for Valentine’s Day last Sunday. We had a $50 gift card to Texas Roadhouse.
There is a Texas Roadhouse right near the Outbacks here.
We need to visit as that was one of our go-to places back in SoCal.
In the past I have stopped at the florist and picked up some expensive flowers for my wife. She loves the flowers, hates the cost. Now she buys herself flowers from Aldi and says they are from me. The only thing she gets me is the thing that the Democrats want to outlaw.
Don’t get caught, looks like a hefty fine.
On that law, what happens if the man intends to impregnate the woman, but unbeknownst to him, she has taken actions to prevent getting pregnant. Would she be fined for cock blocking?
Kiddo wants to put a story together on our tour of US Bank, so I’ll help him get that done this weekend.
I’m looking forward to playing Fortnite tonight, been a few days.
Sorry for the delay. Got home last night, went straight to my SMART Recovery meeting (I’m the facilitator, don’t really have the option of missing it), finally got to the house at 8:00, had time for a quick supper, some ice cream, shower & bed. Was a bit lazy getting up this morning. Posted the thread, shower & breakfast, then getting out the door to do a few inspections that came in late. Got a few local inspections tomorrow that should only take an hour or so, then off ’til Tuesday (remember that shitty band from the 80s?). Been a whirlwind.
Thanks for the many photos you have posted on your trip. So great. Also, still finding time to post a new thread. We really appreciate you, GF.
Agreed.
(hope we don’t come across as ‘suckups’)
#grin
Laughing… well my comments were sincere…
You were ‘sincerely’ sucking up?
#snicker
Much appreciated
You rock! Just like “Til Tuesday, voices carry.
I knew I could count on someone to get the reference
I had to stop whatever I was doing and turn up the radio a dozen times before I understood the chorus. I thought she was saying, “Hush, steer it down town, voices carry…”
For the longest time, I thought it was “downtown, was so scary”, I still hear it as that and even though I know better.
Fitting lyrics for Minneapolis
I always thought the name of that song was Princess Larry
