Apparently my home PACS workstation will get installed tomorrow – well I already have the workstation but I’ve been waiting months to get fiber high speed internet.
The IT guys said they will hook up a Meraki or Meerkat appliance and have some fixed IP address. For now I will just use the fiber for work and StarLink for personal use but eventually if our shouse addition ever gets built we might switch to fiber for both. The IT guys said to just submit three tickets and they would come out and take care of it.
In truth, IT is driving out to my shouse to hook up the whole mess of cables and cords after the ISP gets done with the install tomorrow as I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. All I know is the CPU and monitors are north of $40K and I don’t want to hook something up wrong.
Kfey, can you pick up some items for me at the grocery store before you come out?
(Ironic that the hookup gets done right after I get the COVID, I could have worked from home instead of slinking around the basement of the hospital like a vampire in the shadows).
Morake, its a CISCO modem I believe. I am guessing the DVR/Monitors are for a security system? Otherwise not sure what you need all for to get network out there.
Yes, the Meraki is a CISCO product, for internet security. I will be viewing diagnostic images laden with HIPAA protected information and dictating reports via a “tunnel” between the home campus PACS server and my workstation.
Basically, you put medical grade on any imaging system and the price goes up 10x. Gouging goes both ways.

Well, don’t eat any food processed by an evil food company. I guess that means anything in the grocery store is terrible since a food company had to do something to get it there.
In short, grow your own food.

I’m still in the “sorta laugh” mode when it comes to “processed foods”.
There’s a huge difference between a food company that processes food by cutting kernals off the cob, and the food company that adds a bazillion preservatives, artificial flavorings, colorings, non-food ingredients and chemicals, etc.
I try to figure out what the level of processing entails.
If I see ingredients that I can’t pronounce, I try not to eat it.
I need to cut back on that stuff. Use to be very good about it

I eat tons of wild fish and game, vegys from garden, and unprocessed the vast majority of the time, but just the last few months it’s been, oh look cheetoes, oh look ice cream, oh look caramel corn. lol

When I got home yesterday I grabbed the rolled up hose and carried it to the storage container. While I was doing that apparently a mouse ran from that area and Tuck chased it under a table where he was eventually able to kill it. Good boy!
This morning he is staring out the patio door as if there is another one there. My wife opened the sliding glass window and he was out like a shot, taking the screen door with him. Oh the bad language my wife had. I was thinking what did you think he would do but wisely kept my mouth shut.

I haven’t liked the groups coming out of my pronghorn rifle (6.5 CM). Being a redneck I blame the scope, it is a decent fixed 4x scope but lately I’ve been thinking I should upgrade the scope and put the 4x on my muley rifle (6.5 CM).
I suppose this is the point in the dick measuring contest where I mention I shoot 0.25 MOA with my target rifle (6.5 CM) at 200 yards.

Could be that darn Nyquil severe cold and flu. I took it at 8 pm, went to bed in the RV, woke up a few times with catarrh and cough, had to pee like a race horse twice as I drank a ton of fluids earlier in the evening. Standing outside shivering while I did my business, felt like I was high as a kite.
Took the dog for a walk at 5am, that 20 degree air hit my lungs and I started expelling phlegm and mucous like a steam engine.
Still feel half doped up when I drove to work.
That Nyquil is potent stuff. Like fentanyl only 200x worse.
One of the boat owners in Cook Inlet where I fished became addicted to Nyquil, and it killed him.
I obviously don’t have access to the med records, and this was long ago, but I guess he got alcohol poisoning pretty quickly.
It is actually far from benign. I hate it but there was no way I was getting any sleep with my nose running like a faucet and mucus catching in my larynx.
Canoe Girl had a bad cold a couple months ago, and I offered to go get some for her.

Weird stuff folks get addicted to. I watched a story about a guy addicted to drinking hand sanitizer the other day. He put in some water to make it less gel-y. Then he’d chug away. It’s alcohol content was way better than booze, apparently.

I have a relative that is an alcoholic, she’s lost her daughter now permanently for driving drunk several times with her in the car. She’d drink rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer, perfume/cologne, cooking wine, etc. Very sad.

48 hrs after starting ivermectin, sinuses are clearing up nicely, flem isnt nearly as thick or prevalent. Still get stuffy over night from laying down but by time the afternoon rolls around I feel 100%. Throat inflammation is also gone and energy is up. Ill take that as a W.

I know anecdotal, but my good buddy got hit with COVID hard..started taking ivermectin (got it from a vet), he started feeling better shortly, swears it was the ivermectin.
Funny part was that he called me to tell me he was taking it in case there were complications so I could inform his doctor. He couldn’t tell his wife because she is a commie pinko Fauci acolyte.

There’s virtually no side affects to Ivermectin. Its been given to people millions of times around the world. Its not guaranteed to do anything but it also wont hurt you which is why it was insane when they were banning it.

Last year at the Vikes/Pukes game I saw a punt hit one of the wires and deflect.
At Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton there is a speaker tethered over the middle of the field. I was at a game in the early 80’s where the Edmonton punter (Hank Ilesic) hit it and the ball bounced back towards the LOS. The officials ruminated for a while and finally ruled it a touchback.
PS I attended my first volleyball game as a non player on Saturday. The rules have changed significantly from my high school days (boy’s volleyball is a sport in Canada). Several times in the game the ball was caroming around the lights and hoops at the ceiling of the gym and the ball was still considered live. That was a dead ball back in my day.
That’s how we play in my winter league. Letting it pinball in the rafters gives it extra challenge!

Zappe’s aren’t quite the rainbow arcs that Keenum’s were, but yeah, a little.
That said, I watched Keenum play in person twice in 2017 (Rams and Bucs) and his passes were a lot of fun to watch in person. They took so long to get there you had time to get excited and nervous while the ball was in the air.
Yeah that was a really fun season, until it wasn’t. I do remember many times thinking wtf, that’s gonna get picked and sometimes it did, like the one in the playoffs against NO where the ball seemed to be in the air for 10 seconds, but more often than not Diggs or Theilen made a play on the ball.
I was looking at getting a new TV in 2017, and BB was playing Vikings highlights. It was really obvious watching Bradford’s high velocity throws vs Keenum’s lobs when they were back to back.

All sorts of “media emergencies” about hospitals filling up with the “tripledemic” of flu, covid and rsv. In order to keep the sheep quaking in fear, they are now reporting that pediatric admissions are over loading our hospitals nationwide, with pediatric beds at 75% capacity. Boy that sounds awful.
But being a numbers guy, I go to the PA Department of Health site which reports hospital bed vacancies (most states have a similar report). As reported by the media, PA pediatric beds are at 75% capacity, but when looking back at data, I see the “normal” pediatric load is about 66%. This increase amounts to about 8 additional pediatric hospitalizations per county. About 1 per hospital.

And honestly, if they were at 25% capacity, I wouldn’t be relieved – I’d be annoyed at the extra undue cost of building, maintaining, and AC/heating for a bunch of superfluous rooms.
