We’re winding down the work week, just another day or two left until the weekend! Anyone have any plans for the weekend before Thanksgiving? For me, I plan to put up Christmas lights. This seems like a small task, but if you know how crazy I go with Christmas lights, you’ll know that it’s an entire weekend. Hopefully I can get them done, get the music going, and have a video to share on Monday.

Word of advice… make sure one of your tires never gets popped in today’s market.
Virtually every tire place around says that even if you get there at 8:00am opening, there will be 20 guys standing around waiting in line for their tires to be fixed/replaced, and that because they have no appointments before, say, 2042, available, you’ll wait for 6-7 hours for service.
I just put the spare on and drop off the tire and they let me know when its fixed.
Long story, but when I bought this dumb rig last year it came with a spare, but someone had put a smaller circumference tire on it. Me, dumbley not checking because I didn’t crawl under the vehicle and scrape the mud off of it to get the tire size, it’s now my fault.
I got a long run early Saturday morning, and I was always taught that it ain’t good on the drive trainy stuff to have a wrong sizer. So I got 2 tires to worry about.
Well that’s no good, I mean you could probably get by for a day depending on how far you had to drive.
Will probably put on 300 miles between Sat and Sun.
My rear end would be hurting worse than Lindsay Graham’s.

Depending on how you view “contender” multiple. Just going with division leaders, he’d very likely be #1 on the Chefs, Titans, Ravens. Also teams with high likelihood of making the playoffs he’d likely be #1 on the Jets and Giants.

I didn’t read the article, but on Yahoo finance there is a headline that Amazon is offering voluntary severance amid mass layoffs.
In an email I received today from Amazon Services (a message to 3rd party sellers) there is a line that reads, “We continue to invest heavily in people……..”
Maybe they mean they are investing in getting rid of people?
Is this the same Amazon that was churning through so many employees that they were worried in 2-3 years that everyone who would apply for their jobs would have already done so?
They suck at being an employer. They suck at being seller centric. They treat their 3rd party sellers poorly.

A good friend of mine worked for them, was in some type of management position, he said it was absolutely miserable.
Their management is the worst. They have the silo method of management. Departments to not communicate well if at all. They hire out of the US worker drones to answer seller questions. Those worker drones incentive is to answer an many questions as possible. So to do that, they don’t really resolve any questions, they just copy paste stuff that may or may not relate to the question and then mark it as resolved.
I can’t think of another year where they’ve laid off peeps before Christmas. Usually they’re scraping every bottom of every barrel for more peoples.

A lot of that is what my buddy disliked, plus they’re horrible to work for, bad work environment, etc.
My BIL worked for them at the sorting center here in the cities while in between jobs in his field. He said it was like working in a sweat shop, they’d blare over the loud speaker to stop it if they saw you on your cell phone (they had people monitoring) and you weren’t allowed to use the bathroom unless it was during the assigned break times.
How very 1800s of them.

I think you had to tolerate the sweat shop for a couple years to graduate to overseer.
It comes from the top. Bad top management. Greedy and breeding a new kind of customer. If you ask most 3rd party sellers, they will tell you that most of their customer returns (or straight out stealing) come from Amazon. There are you-tube videos out there of people sharing tips on how to use Amazon’s policies to steal from Amazon and the 3rd party sellers.
