Aloha everyone, and welcome to Skoloholics! Join us here to cheer on the Minnesota Vikings as they take on the Oakland Los Angeles Oakland Las Vegas Raiders today in Las Vegas. Both teams have had struggles as they look to find consistency at their quarterback position, and both teams are on a current two-game losing streak. Hey, someone has to win! Well, I guess they could tie, amirite Ben?
Raiders
The Raiders are not having a great year as they’ve struggled to find their starting quarterback this year. They benched Jimmy Garoppollo back in November and handed the reigns to rookie Aiden O’Connell. They’ve gone 2-2 with O’Connell at the helm. He won his first two games, but they were against the Jets and Giants, so they really don’t count. Since then, they’ve lost two straight to the Dolphins and Chiefs.
Vikings
The streaky Vikings are on a losing skid of their own and also have a replacement QB of their own under center. Josh Dobbs started off hot with a couple wins, but has not looked good in the previous two games. The last loss to the lowly Bears was the offense’s (and Josh Dobbs’) ugliest performance of the year, but KOC and Co. have decided to stick with Dobbs for now, so let’s hope he can turn it around today. The Vikings are still in the playoff picture and are looking to right the ship and hopefully get hot in time for a playoff run. They’ll need to get a road win today in order to avoid falling below .500 (again).

In the hospital
I think KOC said he went to the hospital to get checked out, but returned to the game and is traveling home with the team.
Officially a Chest Injury, hence the trip to the hospital to be safe.

Some Youtube Drs are speculating some type of Rib Injury.
If it is a Hock type that can be played thru or something worse is TBD.
It was a brutal hit and JJ grabbed at his back initially. Then they said it was a chest injury. We’ll find out soon enough.

About the only thing I can say about the game is that was a good defensive showing.
Good news…the reason we only scored 3 points is because Wes Phillips was still drunk. Once he sobers up we should be fine.

Dobbs is terrible. The experiment is over. Watching him ‘loop’ throws 10 feet above receiver’s heads over and over is torture. Mullens needs to start going forward with Hall as the backup and Dobbs EQB.
If Minny is to make a playoff run they’ll have to find new ways to win games. Defense and special teams won today. They’ll have to do it again. I like the spark that Mullens provided but he can also get careless with the football.

Next Saturday is IPJr’s birthday as well as his homecoming to Cincinnati. I’m smelling a breakout game.

Guy I played golf with today is a Raiders fan. Found that out on the 10th hole. We were both wondering how the game would play out and I think he said the over/under was like 21 points. He asked me if he should bet the under, and I said “probably”.

Well I think with losing Cousins for the year, just when the schedule was becoming favorable, and the defense was gelling, hurt this team badly. I think we would be tied at the top of the NFC North tonight if Cousins was still playing, and frankly I think we would have finished at 13-4 again and won the Division again with Cousins.
