This morning is my Friday afternoon, as I’m taking off as of noon today and we’re heading over to the wilds of Montana to visit family. We were going to go last weekend for Christmas, but the weather decided that we weren’t going, so we didn’t go. Now we are.
Only three more days until the Vikings take on the hated Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday with a 3:25 pm kickoff. What do we expect to see on Sunday? It’s so hard to know what to expect in these divisional games. One thing we Vikings fans have come to expect this year is that it will be a close game with a heart-attack-inducing finish. I just hope the good guys win, I REALLY want the Packers to be eliminated so that I no longer have to listen to Chris Collinsworth and the rest of the talking heads babbling non-stop about how the rest of the league is scared of the 7-8 Packers. Sheesh. Just put a bullet in ’em & be done with it (figuratively speaking, of course).

I believe it is more complicated than that, you have to have a digitial image and I think it even has to be converted into a specific format and uploaded into some computer thing, I think the machine pretty much takes it from there but I’m not sure, I do think you click a green button/icon to start the machine though
Sounds like an inkjet printer I used to work on in a former life. I think those were gerber files, which makes sense because sometimes it spit out a baby puke Rorschach when it wasn’t happy.
Is inkjet like the type of printer people have at home? We have a couple UV printers, they’re kinda neat
Not really, had some special Taiyo white ink for circuit boards. Settings to either blob it on quick or do up to 4 layers for clarity, with a quick UV tack cure after each section is inked, then an hour in an oven to fully cure.
I think most PCB shops do silk screening now, but inkjet gives you more flexibility and pretty minimal setup once the designers are done creating the digital artwork.
Also, do you want them embroidered or screen printed?

No, no we shouldn’t. Someone had a stat on here a few weeks back that said one third of our running plays result in 0 or negative yards. That is not good. You can want to run more, if one third results in a wasted or negative play I would say you should run less.
Agree with one caveat: If teams are going light in the box, hammer the run at them.
Quite a few teams this season have prioritized stuffing the run on early downs.
It’s smart football to pass on a team with an extra LB and 8 men in the box.

I look at games like the Dallas game when the run was the ONLY thing that was working, yet we refused to run the ball, even before it was out of hand. Maddening. There were a few games where we should have run the ball more, so I agree that we need to be more balanced. I think our YPC would increase if we ran more. Our YPC is skewed by the negative plays because a high % of our running plays are in obvious running situations where we’re trying to burn the clock. We just don’t run enough during the game.
I get all that…but Dalvin Cook currently leads the NFL in Negative runs. Not good since he is just 8 in rushing attempts..
Green Bays run defense is suspect I think so maybe it will work this game.
I just like to see some smart football. I liked some of the early games where Kirk would change the play based on the defensive look at the line. Might be tough to do on the road though.
I’d like to see us be more balanced. Force teams to respect the running game, and it’ll open up more opportunities in the passing game, AND it’ll slow down the pass rush. Defenses are rushing the shit out of us right now.
I get the more balanced approach. I just don’t want to go the Zimmer route where we are forcing runs on early downs into run blitzes and/or loaded boxes.

Whatever we do, I hope it isn’t a run up the gut for 0 yards, or a pitch outside for -5. Too many negative or no run plays. KOC is a little like DeFlip in this regard. Honestly think baby Kubes designed better runs and screens overall.

I think they’ve put him in shitty situations a lot with the play calling, but yeah, it’s a concern. I think it’s more a play calling thing than a player talent thing, I think they need to be more balanced and change their approach to the running game. They can feature Dalvin when the other team is basically forcing you to (like vs. Dallas).

We have the 3rd most pass attempts in the league, and we have the third fewest rushing attempts in the league.
Yes. and we are 26th in yards per carry and 16th in yards per pass. We are not really good at either…but we suck at running the ball. To win games you have to do what you are better at, and right now we are a better passing team.
I don’t think the answer is to do more of what you are not good at, but I could be wrong.
I’m just thinking that our YPC is down because we don’t run very often outside of when it’s an obvious running down. Get more carries in the meat of the game when it’s more effective and I think the YPC will increase. I’d love to see the splits on YPC, I’ll check & see if I can pull them.
One thing the Vikings have proven this season is that in order to win games a team does not need to outplay the other team. They simply need to score more points.
This can be done several different ways, offense being one you don’t have to be good at if you are good at the others.

The Packers are mediocre. Look at their record. However since the national media is paid to talk about football 24/7, they have to come up with some nonsense to keep people watching.
Hopefully the Packers will be 7-8 every year at this time for the next 2 decades. I will be so happy to see them live in mediocracy.
