As promised, I did not watch the Super Bowl yesterday. I planned to go ice fishing, but work took precedence (I know, poor decision), so I spent the afternoon working on one of the properties I manage. I got home about mid-way through the fourth quarter, and saw the Eagles had eviscerated the Chiefs. I wasn’t happy, because I hate the Eagles. I also wasn’t sad, because I’ve grown tired of the over-saturation of Chiefs love from the NFL and their sycophants. I was indifferent, which is why I didn’t watch. I wasn’t shocked, as the Chiefs weren’t as dominant this year as they had been in years past. I was surprised that the Eagles front four dominated the Chiefs O-line like they did, but in the end, I didn’t care. The NFL silly season is now fully upon us, we shall endure together.
I also saw that the Jets have decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers. I don’t think Rodgers was a hindrance to the Jets, I think the Jets are a hindrance to the Jets. Fate would indicate that Rodgers would now migrate to the Vikings, but that seems highly improbable. Hey, you never know, he DOES like to emulate Favre, and McCarthy DOES need a mentor to usher him into his rightful place as the Vikings franchise QB.
Vikings News
Awesome news from Vikings.com, Randy Moss is returning to ‘Sunday NFL Coundown’ after taking time off to battle cancer.
Kevin O’Connell nuked the silly speculation about a possible Vikings QB dilemma by stating “we drafted him 10th overall for a reason” in an interview with CBS Sports. Watch below. Now, I suppose you could argue that the reason the Vikings drafted him 10th overall was to trade him. In that case, then it looks like Darnold is the guy going forward. After that late season meltdown by Darnold, I don’t think there were many people who seriously expected the Vikings to trade McCarthy & keep Darnold. You never know, though.
NFL News
The Eagles throttled the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, details from CBS Sports.
NFL.com says that the Rams, Steelers, and Vikings are teams with QB questions heading into the NFL offseason. I don’t think the Vikings really have a QB question, but two out of three ain’t bad, per Meat Loaf.
The Jaguars expect a quick turnaround next year, per nfl.com. On a related note, I expect to win millions in the lottery, even though I haven’t bought a lottery ticket.
The complete 2025 NFL Draft order, from NFL.com.

Great conversation here between Joe Rogan and Bret Weinstein. Enjoy!

The FBI has uncovered 2,400 new records about President John F. Kennedy’s assassination following President Trump’s order to release the secret files.
Those documents contain about 14,000 pages worth of material that a disclosure board was supposed to review but never saw, Axios reported Monday.
The White House learned about the never-before-reviewed documents on Friday as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence presented its plan to disclose the remaining documents.
Hmmm… 14,000 pages of FBI materials they never gave to the Warren Commission?
I’m Shocked!! Shocked I say!
Not really shocked.
Ana Navarro (The View) said Trump is going to ban black people from the Super Bowl halftime show with his next executive order. Can’t make this shit up.
Why is The View even still on? Talk about “fake news”
Supposedly it was a joke.
I am not watching that shit to see for myself.
https://www.foxnews.com/media/the-view-co-host-quips-trump-sign-executive-order-banning-black-people-from-halftime-after-super-bowl
She wasn’t joking… it was an overt attack on Trump as a racist.
BRING BACK CURT!
Hmmmm… an anti Cousins article by the Viking Age. Shocking.
Or…..he was injured and tried playing through it, didn’t want to field constant questions at the Super Bowl about his terrible season and pending release, and he just needed to change shirts.
The dumbasses never should’ve signed him to that contract
Yep, should be good to go for the season.
Let’s gooooo.
Get him an OL and let’s do some damage.
I read a report that JJ needs to have his other knee replaced so it doesn’t get jealous of the one he already had replaced. (This is Snarkasm, which is snark + sarcasm)
And I think Kirk to Minnesota in 2025 is not that far fetched either.
Falcons pay the offset.
Hmmm…
No…Kirko burned too many bridges here by playing hardball and going for the max contract….not that I blame him.
But ownership and coaching staff are not going to want to bring back someone who is so unpopular with the fan base.
For that matter, if the Vikings pay more than $10 million for a QB next season I’m gonna go to dark places in my mind.
Sam will be back.
he’ll want a 3 yr, at least 30+mil contract. Purple won’t do.
Correct
KOC made it pretty clear that he won’t.
To be clear, the money was not the issue. KAM refused to sign off on a no trade clause and a 3 year contract. He wanted an extension, with no guarantees beyond 2024. That was a good business position from a Vikings organization perspective, and Cousins decided he was just being strung along a year at a time. He left because it was clear the new regime was not committed to him in any way, shape, or form. That was clear from day one in my opinion, and I called it over a year before he departed. This was just business, and that’s it.
This is dumber than a box of hair.
What is?
Rodgers to the Vikings talk…
Purple going JJ. Maybe Mullens backup. Cap space a priority.
Correct. Clearly the plan going forward. I do wonder if Daniel Jones fits in there somewhere, but his salary might make him the odd man out.
Betting odds.
Set based on how many might take any particular bet.
Not so much on how logical any option might be.
Yeah, but it’s still dumb.
‘No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the American people’.
That’s for sure!
I think Waaron is done.
Since we have thrown off the yoke of ‘KC Tuesday’……
KC is being tied to the Browns, other team that can’t get out of QB hell.
https://fansided.com/browns-latest-qb-link-myles-garrett-run-away-cleveland
Cousins definitely feels he can play, but like Myles Garrett, why play for a losing organization?
$$
Worked for A. Thielen.
Thielen got released, and went and found a place to get paid. I don’t think signing with a team that he thought could win came into the equation at that point. Cousins has tried to sign with teams that he felt were ready to win. I think he will look for that, more than anything else.
The problem is that those teams that can win also need to think Cousins can help them win which might be a hard sell after 2024.
No… Cousins is a proven product. Shanahan and many others love him. Whether there is a team that is truly in a winning situation, who needs a QB like Cousins, is the question. I don’t see any.
Cleveland has some talent, they’re not the Giants.
Stefanski may not have the chops to lead a championship team though.
If they were both free agents this year, Darnold would make more than Kirk. Kirk will either finish his career like Flacco or retire and move into broadcasting. I heard he did good at a game awhile back. I didn’t see it, but I could see him being good at it (as long as whatever media he gets into isn’t a cooking show).
Laughing… Cousins cooking skills aside, I agree that Cousins could retire. I just don’t see a team out there where he comes in and wins. Every team that could use him, is a losing organization.
i also really enjoyed that Swift was booed
So, how long until Kelce and Swift break up now?
Does she need to write the breakup song before or after in order to most money out of it??
Was Kelce supposed to propose to her on the field after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl? My wife said that was what she heard.
Since he’s a loser now, probably a couple weeks
Canadian “Christian Preacher” claims that having a savior alienates too many people.
Of course, that’s the entire purpose of the gospel he claims to represent.
Stupid… really inane. Why do people follow dumbasses like that?
A Savior alienates a lot of people. It’s not the Saviors fault, it the people’s fault.
I thoroughly enjoyed the stupid looks on kelce and mahome’s faces throughout the game as they got completely embarrassed, though I hate that it was the eagles doing it to them. Also, good for hurts, I like that guy.
The stupid looks were funny.
Fascinating conversation here. Our new president isn’t wasting any time.
A horrible SB with the poopeaters and classless fans. What a way to end. I had to turn off at halftime.
How much time is Addison going to have to miss next year?
Doesn’t it depend on if he’s convicted? If he is guilty of DUI (or DWI) it’s a 3 regular season game suspension.
They usually only act on a conviction.
However this is now the second law breaking incident for Addison.
NFL can do whatever they want as long as it conforms to the NFLPA guidelines.
True.
I have a hunch he pleads to something lesser. I don’t know if the NFL still punishes him as if he was convicted for DUI.
Depends on if they label drug use and driving as the same as drunk driving.
I would guess 3 games.
I’d guess 3.
He was tested at 0.08% blood alcohol. I haven’t read any other controlled substances were involved.

I assume the charges are lowered since the accuracy of the test can/has been refuted.
Breathalyzers are not accurate, especially roadside breathalyzers.
What did he do now?
Nothing……….yet. The day ain’t over, though.
I’m so happy the $hit Eaters won.

Pluckers.
Eagles came ready to play.
Chiefs looked totally unprepared.
Kind of shocking really.
Funny how that same D line that made Mahomes look like Atlanta Kirk and sacked him 7 times for 2 ints, only got to old ass Stafford 5 times while giving up 300 yards through the air and 100 on the ground.
And the point is……..?
his point is that clearly the rams offensive line is better than the chiefs.
Thought the Chiefs had three all pros on the offensive line.
idk, that’s just how i’m interpreting kfey’s statement
Idk, seeing a lot of talk about bolstering the O line when KC had a top unit that still got abused. I just thought it was interesting that Stafford on a “worse” line did more damage against Philly then Mahomes and KC did. There is no point, just like anything thats posted on this cluster F of a website.
Already sick of Eagles.
KAM, go get some stud lineman on both sides of the ball.
I agree… let’s see what happens in the next 7 months. We have some real talent on the team, let’s not waste it. McCarthy isn’t the generational talent many believe he is. He will need a very strong team around him (a la Tom Brady).
It’s accurate, whether you like it or not.
You also said that Cousins was going to light it up this year and the Falcons would easily win the NFC South, so pardon me if I’m going to take your incorrect assumptions with a grain of salt.
I don’t think I ever said anything of the sort. I expected Cousins to play well this year for sure, but he didn’t. So that makes you more wise than me? Respectfully, I don’t see greatness in McCarthy. I see competence, and ability. That gets him halfway there. The rest is the luck of the draw.
You most definitely did. You said I was dumb for predicting the winner of the South to be about .500 and the Falcons maybe being in that mix. You said they would easily win over 10 games. You’re right though about JJ not being generational. That’s not a strong enough superlative. All time all world maybe.
I never said any of that.
Bullshit.
No bullshit. You’re making shit up Bow. Stop it.
NLV you do not have a very good crystal ball. everyone knows it takes about 18 months to fully heal from an achilles and then it really gets hard to throw with a banged up shoulder and elbow.
The Achilles healed completely JR. It didn’t hinder Cousins at all. His ankle injury, shoulder injury, and elbow injury all came about in the second half of the season. He was fine and healthy at the start.
He was not.
Was listenning to some pundits talking about Rogers future yesterday. Many noted he played poorly most of the year until the last month of season where he got to 18 months post surgery.
Cousins is not even reached that date yet.
Cousins spoke to this directly JR. He said from the beginning to the end, the Achilles was healed, and was no issue.

Darnold will probably start all season. And the Vikings will finish with a better record than ATL.

I’ll take that bet all day long Surly…
Pretty weak sauce. I said I expected the Falcons would win the Division, and I didn’t expect the Vikings to do well. Duh. I never called anyone dumb or say Cousins was going to have a great year or that Atlanta would win the Division easily.
I expected the Falcons to win at least 11 games, and the Vikings to win 10 or less.

Yep and the penix will be playing before the year ends.

I would seriously take that bet Bow.
I would have seriously taken that bet DE. Absolutely. Did I call him dumb? Did I say Cousins would have a spectacular year? No. Penix got the starts because Cousins suffered injuries to his ankle, shoulder, and elbow that impacted his ability to play. Duh.
What are you Bow’s defense council today? He’s a big boy!
No.
Just pointing out the obvious.
NLNVF is a huge fan of Kirk.
I know he said the Falcons and Kirk would be very good this year.
Find where I said Cousins would be very good this year. You won’t because I wasn’t sold on the head coach or the OC. I actually expected Cousins to play slightly worse this year because of those factors, and he did.
‘Cousins was going to light it up this year ‘
Dude it is not even Tuesday yet.
I don’t remember anyone ever saying that here.
I was referring to KC Tuesdays since he was brought up on a Monday Morning.
OK, some arbitrary “rule” of the blog. I’m pretty much not a big follower of other people’s rules… grin. As you have probably noticed.
It is more a guideline than a rule.
You didn’t bring him up so my comment was not directed to you.
But feel free to continue to be you.
#grin
Thanks SoCal, I’m too old to change!
I just realized we have finally given Tuesday, the worst day of the week, a genuine identity!
It doesn’t matter if JJ is or not a generational talent, Mahomes for sure is, but if you put our offensive line as is out there against the Eagles front, it’s going to be a long day for any QB.
Yep
Welp, I had to rat two co-workers out to their manager.
I don’t like to do it, but they left me no choice. I have tried to work with them one-on-one for years and given them every tool to succeed. They continue to make errors that cost the company money and cause me more work.
So, I did the Karen thing and went to their manager, which I will do going forth. I am not paid to manage them, and I am obviously not getting through to them.
On the other hand, their manager does get paid to manage them and has power over them. Maybe the manager can get the message across.
In retrospect, I waited too long. Damn nice gene. I inherited it from mom. She is terminally nice, too…
I think humans are inherently “tolerant” and try to help folks who are not performing. I learned a long time ago folks don’t meet standards (basically) for one of two reasons. They can’t, or they won’t. Leaders must address substandard performers or the rest of the organization loses faith in them, while suffering from the members substandard performance like you have.
Yeah, there is a lot of truth in that one of the worst things you can do to a good employee is not discipline bad employees.
Yep… if you’re a leader… you need to lead.
American Business is typically too quick to hire and too slow to fire.
Personally, I would fire one of them, I reckon. The other one can still be salvaged.
I once asked an employee if they wanted to be a productive member of the organization, or just get paid for doing nothing. They said they just wanted to get paid and be left alone. I was surprised by the honesty of the answer.
I can kind of understand that. My goal is to be so good at my job, my managers leave me alone, yet also know they need me.
As for wanting to advance…I don’t really have an interest in that. I have other goals in life, and I only have so much bandwidth for a job. I can’t balance all of that as is.
In my whole life, I always worked hard, and did the best job I could. It was just my nature.
I’ve always worked my ass off.
Clearly
You been checking out his ass?
There’s obviously no ass left to check out.
Ummm no… laughing.
I always did too because I needed a job and knew there was always someone lurking around wanting to replace me.
I read the Trump was cheered and Swift was booed last night. Swift is massively, and openly anti Trump. Looks like folks are seeing the world (and Trump) very differently now. Which is a good thing.
Yep, she got a good booing. However, it sounded like 80% of the crowd was rooting for the Eagles. I wonder if the booing of Swift was more of an anti-Chiefs rant?
Very likely. Still happy that Trump was cheered. That speaks strongly to the woke ideology of the left is being rejected now.
Yep, Trump got a very loud cheer. It was refreshing to hear.
I saw Jones went out of his way to make sure he got a chance to shake Trump’s hand too.
I saw that, as well.
She was a Poopeater fan before she started going out with the Chiefs TE per reports.
So that is added to the mix, anti-trump, anti-NFL Chief narrative and traitor Poopeater fan.
To be fair…NFL fans and the state of Louisiana lean Right.
Good point, a lot like Neckcar.
Not sure how many residents of Louisiana could afford to attend the game yesterday.
Good point.
“Fate would indicate that Rodgers would now migrate to the Vikings,”
Congratulations sir! You have identified the only thing that would turn me against the purple.
I don’t think Rodgers is coming to the Vikings, and as folks have indicated, good QB’s benefit from good O-line play. The Vikings have been vulnerable up the middle for a long time. Even a mobile QB is gonna get hit a lot and sacked at the worst possible moment.
I didn’t watch the game, but clearly the Eagles defense completely dominated the Chiefs till the end of the third quarter. Dunno if they just played soft the final quarter, or if the Chiefs played better to score a little or what. Don’t care. I didn’t want either team to win, so it was a wash for me. My wife was pulling for the Eagles. I was watching a movie called “The Eagle has Landed”. Great WWII film.
The Eagle has landed is an interesting and good movie.
It’s a really good movie, and I always enjoy watching it.
World War II films are the best.
I prefer the adventure based ones like The Dirty Dozen, Where Eagles Dare, Bataan, etc, as opposed to the more realistic ones.
Just my personal choice in that regard.
My dad was a HUGE WWII buff. I was basically raised on WWII documentaries. He liked to collect memorabilia, too. Had his own little museum.
Very cool. I grew up watching WWII movies and Westerns. Loved them.
My dad had a friend whose WWII relics are unbelievable. The guy was stationed in Germany in the 1960s. He basically spent every paycheck on German World War 2 stuff and shipped it home.
Dude had weapons you don’t even see in a museum still in their packing grease.
I have no idea what he is going to do with that collection when he dies. It is insane.
Man… that guy has a treasure trove of history!
you left out Kelly’s Heroes!
Yep, that is a fun one, too.
It is a great movie Surly, lots of good ones out there.
A lot of backups got in. I didn’t recognize either defender on the long bomb TD.
This.
I agree with much of what has been said….
Hurts had a great game, but Eagles D-line (or KCs shitty Oline) was the main reason the Eagles won.
If your Oline is overmatched to that degree it doesn’t matter who you have playing QB, you ain’t gonna win. It would be nice if the Vikings could fix their line, but I am not holding my breath.
We’ve all been screaming this for years. The Vikes need to fix the O-Line and D-Line. This Super Bowl confirmed that strategy.
Yeah, it’s easier said than done, because every team in the league understands this concept. The other thing is, all the skill position players get all the attention, and the cash. In the end though, it’s the lines that matter most.
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
Time for the Silly Season…
FTP Auto Rec.
I watched nearly all of the Super Bowl. Here is what I noticed…
Hurts had one terrible play. Otherwise, he was money on throws to all levels. He displayed just enough mobility in the pocket and sprinkled in a few absolutely back-breaking runs that ended the game.
Eagles OL did not dominate in the run game. Chiefs did a good job limiting Barkley the best they could. Eagles OL was solid in pass protection, however.
Eagles DL did dominate. The ravaged the Chiefs OL.
Add all that up, and the Eagles are built to compete for awhile yet. Vikings have a long way to go to catch them.
As for the Chiefs, I will pencil them in for the Super Bowl again next year because they are the Chiefs. They will adjust in the offseason and come back to do it again.
The Eagles D-Line should have won the MVP. They are the main reason for the win.
For sure. Their d line destroyed the Chiefs line.
Chief’s OL:
They were scary. I can’t imagine the havoc they would have wreaked upon us if we had met them in the playoffs.
As James Hetfield is wont to say…”Yeah!”
Like GF, I didn’t watch a second of the game, commercials, or HT show. I did watch the highlights as featured on the morning news today.
We need to send a card to the LA Rams and McVay for booting us out of the playoffs early. I don’t think I would have been pleased with the result of a Vikings @ Eagles rematch.
Dominant D-line and great O-line. Huh. @all we Vikings fans want is splashy expensive receivers@
I tried to watch. Could not even make it through the first half.
Eagles defense is damned good though.
“Vikings @ Eagles rematch’
Last time we played them was preseason and we won 26-3.
Or are you talking about 2023 when KC was our QB??
heh heh.
According to some here, only QB’s are responsible for wins. Apparently the other 52 members of the team don’t count. I mean seriously… you don’t need any other player on the team than the QB… right?
If the Chiefs had a better QB, he could have made up for the inadequacies of the O-line.
Laughing
Agree with everything you said
But is Rodgers a mentor at all? I never hear that phrase associated with him
My top 3 favorite things about Super Bowl Sunday yesterday…..
AKA…the Silly Season!!
FTP !!!!!!
You forgot that the SB being yesterday means it is now time for Daytona!

Danica held off Jeff Gordon back in the day for pole at Daytona. Woman does have some balls.
