Wow, busy day yesterday! It’s exciting to see the place continue to grow, let’s hope it continues. There isn’t a lot of new Vikings-related news out there, other than a few roster moves yesterday. It’s sad to hear about Cine’s injury, you hate to see anyone get hurt, especially when they’re questioning whether or not he’ll play again. All the best to the kid as he recovers.
Vikings-Bears
We anxiously await the Vikings’ next matchup as they take on the Bears at home this Sunday, kickoff is at noon. US Bank Stadium should be loud as the Vikings look to go 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in the division, which would be HUGE for their playoff chances. I know it’s early, but a win would be significant already. On paper, the team should do it, but on paper, they should have beaten the Saints by more, so you never know. Hopefully, the team comes out energized playing at home, and they throttle the Bears. Do I expect that? Ha, no. I’ve been a fan for too long. I think the Vikings are the better team, and they should win. Whether that happens remains to be seen. As always, I’m optimistic. SKOL!!!!!

Yeah, didn’t say it was a bad turn. I enjoyed that conversation. There were actual details and honest opinions, not just name calling. Lifer will jump in around 5 when everybody goes home and reply to every one of our comments that we’re idiots, it’s Russia’s fault, Orange Man bad. I still find it suspicious that there has been almost no word about the Nordstream break since it happened. That just makes it even more suspicious to me.
This is just my personal opinion, but a pipeline breaking just isn’t earth shattering news to me. They can call it sabotage if they wish but they will never find any evidence of same. Besides, there was nothing in the pipeline and Russia wasn’t planning on putting anything in it anytime soon so news cycle moves on.
It wasn’t flowing, but it was full of gas. It is now full of water so it isn’t as simple as repair the holes and turn it back on. There is now zero chance it can be used to keep Europe from freezing to death this winter. Better hope there is no disruption to their supplies (ships, the new pipeline from Sweden) or they will be royally f’ed.

Alberta has a lot of oil locked up in oil sands but it is expensive to extract and very very bad for the environment, so bad that no one will let them build a pipeline.

Someone took a pic of a flatbed towtruck parked at the Tesla superchargers in Miles City, with the car on the back (couldn’t tell if it was a Tesla from that angle) being charged. That would suck.
The superchargers in Glendive are in a weird place, behind a hotel and right next to a bunch of townhomes. Would be one of those places where the best you could do while waiting to charge is go for a walk down the riverbank.

Glendive is a little odd. They don’t have chargers at that massive Flying J off 213 or Trail Star, instead they are practically in a neighborhood next to the fairgrounds. For that matter, the Flying J does not have a restaurant, seems like one would make a killing there. If I were into investment opportunities such as running a franchise I would ask my buddy who owns the McD’s franchise licenses in these parts if he would sell me the license and build a restaurant across the road.
Since that Flying J has the cheapest gas in the STATE, I have never seen less than ten cars parked at the pumps and twenty rigs parked in back.
I’m just happy that Glendive finally has a gas station near the interstate. I don’t know how many times I had to stop there for gas years ago and the only one close the the interstate was the little Conoco north of the interstate that didn’t have 24 hour pumps.

They put new booths in the restaurant last month. Very uptown feel now. You would be amazed how many people I know that eat a meal there every day. I mean every day, not often…every single day. Heart attack city, who am I to complain, puts money in my pocket.

I have only eaten at the hospital once in the last six weeks, and that was a free one as it was a med staff meeting. Nonetheless they do impress me with their food and prices.
My go to is Gunner’s Ridge, where I end up tipping a little too much for mediocre service but I enjoy seeing the servers smile when they get their 30%+. Eat there about once every three weeks.
We definitely eat at home way more since moving to Glendive. My wife has quite the delicious rotation of home cooked meals going.

Nah, I actually like Glendive and have some friends there. Haven’t spent any time there in quite awhile, but it’s not a bad town.
They are doing a phenomenal job in the park. If I didn’t have multiple sections of private land to hike on I would definitely be up there way more.
One problem is once you leave the pavement after the switchbacks the road can be rough and of course impassable with gumbo in the rain. My CFO has discussed replacing our side by side with a crew cab Polaris Ranger complete with A/C, then we could drive that from our place into the park and go exploring. Who am I to argue with the CFO?
I wouldn’t recommend it.

The Canadian tar sand oil is especially problematic for our refinerys.
