It doesn’t really matter how you get there, you just have to get there. Now, do I think that the Vikings can go anywhere in the in playoffs if they’re playing like they did yesterday? Nah. Do I think the Vikings will continue to get better? Well, yes. Most teams improve throughout the year, and I see the Vikings continuing to improve on both sides of the ball. As of now, the Minnesota Vikings have the second-best record in the NFL. Hoo-ah! SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday night we went to a bull riding event in La Crosse, WI. As we were walking in amidst a sea of people dressed in cowboy hats, my brother-in-law said, “I wonder how many conservatives are here?”
And of course the announcers know their audience, so one time when a bull was just wandering around the arena floor and not going back into the cage area the announcer said, “That bull looks as confused as Joe Biden at a press conference.” That got a good laugh from the crowd.

Due to living in Packerland, I did not get to watch the game live. I listened to it on the radio and after the first drive, it was kind of boring until later in the 4th quarter. However, when I watched the condensed replay on NFL+ last night, I realized that it shouldn’t have been that close. When you get rid of all the in-between play junk and just watch the plays, I realized that just a handful of dropped passes were our biggest problem. There were a couple to Thielen that he probably would have caught a few years ago and they were big. They would have been first downs and chunk plays that could have really changed the dynamic or each series. Plus JJ should have caught the one in the end zone.

I agree it’s not good. And I would prefer consistency. I am holding on to the belief that because everyone is new to the coaching and schemes, that there will be a learning curve. If they still play like this next year, then I will agree that they are not good. But tell me you are not surprised that they are 7-1 with new coaches and schemes.

I really can’t believe how with the game tied, Cousins was only able to muster 19 yards of offense and gave the ball back to the other team who then took the lead. Then, with a chance to win, or at least tie the game, he fumbled the ball, skipped the next one 10 yards short of the receiver and then threw an incomplete pass to end the game. Full on Beaker mode. I don’t know enough about non-Christian Religions and their take on alcohol..There are some Christian Denominations that ban alcohol…I think any close reading of the Bible would lead you to the conclusion that the Bible does not forbid alcohol, but it does caution against over consumption.

PFF has the Vikings defense ranked as 7th. Offense is 6th. Overall, 3rd best team in the NFL. All of this according to PFF.

The only time we play at the same time as them again is Dec. 4th (and the games are on different networks), Jan 1 (and we play each other). Jan 8 is TBD for both of us.

Do you have any family or friends living in the twin cities area that use xfinity? I think that service travels with you. If so, you could log in to the fox network online with their account (xfinity at least). Not the local fox station KSTP but the national fox station.

Hey all. Just walked in from the deer stand. My observations from the game:
First, a W is a W, and victory Mondays are awesome. Keep stacking them! At risk of sounding like a Kirk apologist, the man answers the bell. How many times did he get rocked and kept coming back? And he was murder/death/killed and stood there and took it when he dropped that long absolute dime to JJ in crunch time. But this game underscores our problem. OL cannot hang with good d lines. (See also: eagles). This is what will kill us moving forward and in the playoffs. D did well enough, got the big int when we really needed it. But let’s be honest Heineke is good for a couple gifts each game. Stud qbs will kill us. Finally, the bowling celebration after Harry’s pick may be my all time favorite, or at least a very close second to Duck-duck-gray duck. Obligatory TL/DR comments below

pretty close, beaker was horrible as he always is despite having the top talent in the NFC. Got pressure and constant throw aways due to fear and diaper full. Tried to force the ball. Had 160 yards in the 4th qtr when we only had like 20 yards rushing all game up to that point. 10 straight punts or close to that
I always wonder if Five is watching the same game. Cousins was literally being hit on almost every drop back. We did not do a lot of play action or rollout, and I wonder why. But washington routinely sent 5-6 guys charging, their secondary pressed coverage, and Cousins had less than 2 seconds most times. I am impressed he did not fumble they way he was hit on the blind side.
Several dropped passes and inability to establish the run hurt us. Did he force the ball? yes he did. Just like many people on this site keep saying he has to do more. The INT to the forced pass in the end zone could have easily been caught by JJ. Instead it goes off his hands, gets deflected up in the air, and a different defends intercepts in. That happens when you force the ball.
He doesn’t watch. Pulls up the stats (on ESPN) & looks at the stat sheet.
I did not think Cousins had a great game, but with all the pressure he was under the entire game, he made very few mistakes. And the D pressures QBs to try to force them into mistakes

I watched the Vikings highlights video on their YT channel (not the game highlights video from NFL) and it skips from the end of the 2nd quarter to the beginning of the 4th quarter. Hilarious.
Our offense was non-existent for a large chunk of the game.

Viking game plan:
Jump out to a marginal lead early, then forget how to football for a chunk of the 2nd quarter, and all of the 3rd. Lose lead.
Then ball out in the 4th and win.
I was down on the defense up until the last couple of games. But they seem to be settling into their new scheme. The offense shows flashes of their ability but can’t seem to be consistent. The IOL sucks. I don’t think that is disputed. But going cold for 3rd and sometimes second quarter is a concern. Some combination of execution and play calling.
Coverage is MUCH better in recent games, I’ve noticed. They’re actually contesting catches now.
4th worst pass D in the NFL and haven’t played a starting qb in 3 of last 5 games nor any winning teams.

Kirk played good. INT wasn’t his fault. About 9 drops between JJ, KJ, and AT. Everyone had butterfingers. If have of those are cut down, this game wouldn’t have been close.
Refs really rigged the game and wanted Skins to win. So many blown calls they missed and ticky tack crap for us. Checked bynum like a hockey hit to give the skins 7 points. They did make up for it at the end to allow us to bleed the clock for game winning FG
