It’s been a couple days now, but Sunday’s victory still feels good. It should still feel good. A football fan has to learn to endure the bad times that you go through during the season, but you also have to learn to enjoy the good times, so don’t feel bad for enjoying Sunday’s game, because a victory over our biggest division rival is something to be enjoyed. Watching this team play the way they did is another reason to be optimistic, it’s been a long time since this team has played that well and that consistently for an entire game. You really have to go back to Zimmer’s first several years here if you want to find the last game where the Vikings looked as good as they did on Sunday.
The Vikings’ next game will be another tough one, as they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Monday Night Football next week. The Eagles are a much better team than they were at the beginning of last year, so the Vikings will have to play another solid game if they want to escape with another W. I think they can do it, but it won’t be easy. Let’s do this! SKOL!!!!!!

I don’t remember a lot of the games over the last four years, especially the last 2. But I have to say, this may have been the first game since Bradford starting against the Saints that I was bored by the 4th quarter. Not sleepy or disinterested, but anxiety-less. Not sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for the purple implosion.
It is a long season and a lot of time for things to awry. But for the first time in a while, I am looking forward to watching the next game.

I always look forward to being entertained by the games. Usually just waiting for them to fuck it up somehow and snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory. Win or lose it’s entertaining. I’m not ready to think we will be anything other than a worse case scenario mediocre team wallowing in optimism. I do think we could actually be good by 24 though. Oline and Dline are where it starts.

How long does the process take until you can make some bread?
Little over a week… we’ll see if I screw it up I’ve never done it before.

It’s easy, make sure you have a big enough crock of you want to use it that much. 2 qt or maybe even gallon. I feed it syrup, flour, sugar, every time I use it and once a week if I don’t. I leave it for months, scrape the pold off and just keep using it. It’s fantastic.
My grandma made sourdough pancakes. Oh, man, I should start some starter, too. Drool.
Sourdough are the only kind I like at all
I have has SS for many decades. It’s from a 1916 batch. I just baked 2 loaves of sd bread last weekend and they turned out perfect, best I ever made. I make sd pancakes often. I like them really sour. Keep feeding it and it will treat you well.

Nope, any flour will work. This last time I had been feeding it wheat, so that was a nice twist. It doesn’t hurt to add yeast every now and again too.
The longer you let it sit the more sour it becomes. Mine usually has 1-3 inches of clearish liquid on top if you let it sit a few days. Stir it and feed it every day and keep it warm the first week or two.
You’re going to love it.
I’m starting with bread flour and will feed it all purpose until it takes off.

You don’t but it really helps. I add old yeast once maybe twice a year. Pancake mix works as good feed too.

There was a nother that I saw where he threw to ellefson in the RZ… he had someone open over the middle but I couldn’t catch it with the camer angles.
Sometimes the “he had a guy wide open on the other side” stuff is a little ridiculous. As a QB you have about 3 sec max, 1.5 sec to get a look, 1.5 sec to load up and throw. Panning the field more than once just isn’t realistic unless you run around like MaHomes and have an alien arm where you can throw from 10 different angles.
these are so helpful as so many think he’s not all pro but these show he is. Team game like NVF said 500,000 or 600,000 times and it doesn’t matter whether you make 1m or 40M, TEAM.

I think this demonstrates the good and bad from Cousins pretty well. I wish NVF was here to read this. This was the point I was trying to make. He has flaws, hopefully the staff and team and work around them and get enough out of him to be successful. Do good QBs miss these reads? Sure, every now and then. But Cousins in the past and clearly still now, misses them on a weekly basis, he also has GREAT throws on a weekly basis. The reality is both.

Every QB has flaws. Those that can run are at a much higher risk of getting hurt. Those that don’t take risks in the passing game throw less INTs. Its a give and take.
Kirk is a solid QB and capable of winning MVP. Things just need to go right like they did for Matt Ryan a few years back.

One rarely is a WR even with a record breaking year considered for the MVP.
Two should JJ have that type of year, say 2k plus gets the record and 15-20 td’s, Kirk’s going to also have a monster year and typically the QB will get the nod.
Three for either to even be on the radar for mvp, which today is like predicting the weather on the other side of the globe in 3 months, the team 100% would have to be #1 or #2 seed in the NFC. Most likely #1.

I remember back in Teddy’s first couple of years the Vikings didn’t have a WR core, they had more of a WR corpse. They do have a solid group now, not sure what Raegor has to offer other than PR though.
Confidence is a funny thing…if he feels like his coaches trust him and have his back then maybe he can loosen up and play freely like he did in college. Will be fun to see how it turns out. He’s certainly happier thats for sure.
I don’t expect too much, he does look confident returning punts, which is something nobody else on the roster can do so he’s definitely valuable in that regard. Whatever else he may offer is just gravy.

I’m rewatching it now. Lots to work on but also lots to build off of.
Its fair criticism. If you thought the O line dominated then you are lying to yourself. It was up and down. But I think GBs front is one of the more difficult ones they will face this year so, doing OK is better then doing shitty.
They weren’t perfect but Kirk did well in the pocket. Better than I remember him doing in previous years.
Kirk’s pocket presence on Sunday was better than I’ve ever seen come from him. He felt & avoided pressure, stepped up in the pocket & kept his eyes upfield. These are things I’ve been bitching about with him for years now, he really performed well.
He did. I just watched the condensed version and that bomb to JJ especially.. It seems like years past he would’ve taken the sack. That one he stepped up bough another second and delievered a strike.

I hope so. I’m also a realist, so I don’t EXPECT this to continue, but it also wouldn’t shock me. The new coach & staff may be exactly what Kirk needed, and our previous string of OCs has been less than stellar, so it stands to reason that they could’ve been holding back our offense.

3/14 on third downs is an issue. Going balls to the walls(aviation term) and getting stuffed that much isn’t a good sign. Only scoring 23 is an okay but not good offensive performance by any means.

The Vikings did struggle on 3rd down Sunday. The explosive plays helped mitigate it, but it honestly felt like last years offense in that they were explosive but struggled to sustain drives and went into a coma after starting fast.
There were only 2 3&outs if I recall correctly… maybe 3 with the fumble to a FG drive
Yeah only the three, they did a better job of getting at least one first down, poop on 3rd down but its still early in the season.
To be super agressive all the time on offense, as AT said and then only score 23 seemed to be lower than they wanted. I doubt 23 wins many games for us this season.
At least they didn’t fumble on the one-foot line a couple of times.

NVF was a good dude to have around, it´s a pity that he seems to have left for good. Thought he might be back after Kirk´s great game on Sunday, but no NVF sighting. What did you guys tell him that made him quit?
It was about over a week or twos time, he posted daily Kirk stats almost defiantly and would argue with you if you posted anything critical of Kirk, it got comical at times. I pushed his buttons a bit and basically said that I cant take his football opinions seriously if he considers Kirk to have no faults, and he stood his ground. I had adult conversations with him (aside from asking if He’s Kirks dad). Others insulted him and called him names and he just said clearly he’s not wanted around and he signed out and that was that. He was partially to blame because he did not back down on Kirk and was almost obsessed with him, but the insults were not warranted.
I have never see anyone so obsessive compulsive about a player, never, not even close. Look at Kathy, who is obviously a TB fan and she couldn’t hold a candle to NVF.
