Alright, well the Vikings are still 2-1 and are still sitting atop the division. It hasn’t been a pretty trip, but that’s where we are for right now. Most people didn’t expect the Vikings to be 2-1 at this point in the season, so it seems that they’re sitting in a pretty good spot. The team obviously has issues to work out on both sides of the ball, and I fully expect that the coaching staff is doing what they can to shore up the weak areas.
Areas of Concern:
In my opinion, the most pressing areas of need are (in no particular order) the passing offense and the defense (rush defense and pass coverage). Much of it seems to be a scheme/coaching issue, with the exception of the occasional poor play of the quarterback. Who knows? Maybe that is coaching related as well, but for some reasons, Kirk Cousins has not looked very comfortable at all this year. He seemed to be really smooth in the first half of the Packers game and even into the second half, he still looked in control. However, he looked like a completely different quarterback against both the Eagles and Lions.
Whatever it is, these areas certainly need to see improvement if this team plans to compete this year. They’re fortunate to be 2-1, but that’s better than being 1-2 and thinking you got hosed to get there.

I had it done back in 2007. My vision prior was bad seeing at distances also had a fairly bad stigmatism something like 25/45 vision if I remember correctly. Had the procedure and as you’re looking up in to the machine as it zaps and makes the corrections boom, the blurry lights were instantly in focus and my vision ended up being 20/10 following. So yes worth it 100%. Your eyes are one of if not the fastest healing parts of your body, you’ll be right the next day. What you want to do is go home post procedure and sleep, at least a nap. I did and never had any ill effects what so ever. Only side effect for maybe 6 months to a year is halo’s at night around lights shining back at you, car headlights or definitely when looking at stop lights at night. It will eventually go away. Wait till you hit your first drive on a golf course out 250 yards and can actually see the ball, that was one of the most dramatic things I noticed. It’s still pretty good but not as crisp on the course as it use to be so it’s fading a bit. Not sure if they recommend tune ups, I think they do.

Most German parties, most German politicians do not act in the best interest of the people they pretend to represent. This is also true for most of the EU.

Just look at the sanctions concerning Ukraine… the US quietly backed out of many, is making a killing by selling expensive LNG gas to Europe, China is making a killing by buying cheap Russian gas and selling it back to EU countries at exorbitant prices, while we over here are once again being set up to end up in the slaughterhouse.
If there indeed will be a WW3 it looks very much like it will be fought where I live, not where you live. Allow me to not be too thrilled about this possibility.

When they first started letting actors drop F bombs on screen, we all thought it was hilarious, not so much now.

I actually did a movie review of a Fred Ward movie shortly after he died, and I had no clue until someone in the comments told me he was gone. He was one of my favorite character actors. Tremors is a fun, fun movie. I also liked him in Cast a Deadly Spell. The world should have had a series of Raymond Chandler movies where Ward played Marlowe. He was born for that role.

Yes, Dr. Sleep is the sequel to The Shining. Stephen King wrote the book, and the movie was made rather recently.
It’s the kind of movie I’d normally ignore (a decades-later sequel to a classic? c’mon), but it was made by Mike Flannagan and I love his work.
Flannagan’s goal was to please fans of the Dr Sleep book (remember King hated the Shining movie by Kubrick) while also pleasing fans who had seen the movie and liked it. From what I’ve read, he accomplished that (although I’ve never read the books).
It’s a good movie, IMO.
I’ve heard good things about Flannagan. I don’t know if I’ve seen any of his movies, but I have a couple of his netflix series are in my queue.
He makes the kind of stuff where the primary point isn’t just to be scary, but it certainly is scary along the way.
Haunting of Bly Manor is a little slow & cerebral. I liked it, but I liked it the least out of the three series on Netflix.
Midnight Mass is beautiful. Not as scary as Haunting of Hill House – be warned. That show is S.C.A.R.Y.
Flannagan’s next thing comes out a week from Friday. I’m pumped.
Just looked it up and I haven’t seen any of his stuff. What’s his next thing coming out? Also, did you watch Archive 81? I haven’t seen it but read good things and was disappointed Netflix canceled after 1 season.
I watched one and a half episodes of Archive 81 and never got around to continuing it. It was good while I was watching, but it wasn’t appealing enough to choose it over something new the next time I wanted to watch something.

It’s getting about time for Halloween lights, isn’t it?
I have a small light-up Simpsons Halloween sign. I’ll put that up.
Other than that, we carve jack-o-lanterns and that’s it for Halloween decorations.
I have quite a few lights (orange & purple) and a few inflatables. Halloween is just a dressed rehearsal for the real deal, Christmas. THAT is when I go bonkers.
I like putting up lots of lights for Christmas, but it usually takes me several years to build up. I put up a normal amount in year 1 at a house, then add more each year.
Buy em come Jan 1 when they’re all on fire sale. Load up every year and make it bigger and bigger

Used to go bonkers for Christmas. Made a 12 foot star frame with lights, and hung that on our house. Plus lights along the roof line, and a few yard things.
Kids are older, and I no longer want to get up on a ladder.
We now have candles in all the windows and two light up things on the porch.
I think that’s OK – I’ll tone it down when my kids get older, too. I might try and get permanent Xmas lights installed at some point.
I don’t know why most Contractors are so stupid they don’t offer Christmas lights as an option on a new house…
they’re getting more mainstream (the year-round ones), so maybe that’ll start being an option.

I used to do lights but the house I bought is a traditional 2 story, I would have to buy at least a 24′ extension ladder that’s like $200+ and then go out in the Minnesota winter to hang lights along the roof at like 20 feet up a ladder. No thanks. Luckily I know of a company that will come do it for you here in the metro for a reasonable price.

Yeah when I was kid, I think I was like 9 when Sue was found. I started digging around all the time, my dad told me to knock it off. All I ever found were Cow or Sheep bones. Kinda weird but like 10 years later a kid close to my age found a bunch of dinosaur bones in the town where my dad grew up out by the badlands in NoDak.
My kindergartner grand told me some of the boys in her class make fun of the girls. I told her, don’t worry, I promise you eventually every one of those boys will be very interested in girls.

It’s bananas. They’re at a busy intersection, hemmed in by another retailer sharing the same lot, and no room to expand. Meanwhile you have a state with no state income tax nearby, that like to come and stock up from a state with no sales tax.
I do to target and HD/Menards, though the Menards near me is being rebuilt, looking forward to it though, it was one of the really old ones with no grocery section but now it’ll be one of the huge two level ones with lots of foodstuffs.
I just bought a buncha food at our Menards last week.

Defender cannot contact o player beyond 5 yards. Illegal contact occurred before AT pushed off, from just the pic I would have flagged AT but after the vid I think it was on defense
Thielen was handsy, but the unspoken argument of a receiver’s justified battling back seems to apply here.
To me, OPI is when the defender is playing clean and the receiver creates separation with his hands (extending the arm) for a better chance at catching the ball.
