The Vikings have a tough game coming up. The Lions have been playing quite well in recent weeks, the team records don’t tell the true story of this matchup. I do expect a very high scoring game, as both defenses are…….well……bad. The Lions give up a ton of yards AND a ton of points, but they also score a lot of points, and as we know, the Vikings defense has allowed opponents to gain a lot of yards this year. The Vikings defense has also been able to perform well in the red zone, and they’ve done a good job of holding teams to field goals instead of allowing touchdowns. If they can continue to do this against the Lions, it should give the offense enough room to get the win. We’ll find out in a few short days.

Its always been weird to me how bands develop and change over time, like Pearl Jam improved massively as musicians over time, yet I found their music less and less enjoyable with every new album they made. I re-watched the Jets game last night and I think among all of JJ’s great traits, his toughness is one of the best and most understated. He’s fearless. Week after week, he takes some really hard hits and still manages to secure the ball.

If so, that seems fairly easy to scheme against and make him look like crap as teams get tape on him. I also recently bought this really cool coffee maker where all the parts to it come apart and are dishwasher safe (except the very bottom warming plate that is electric). You don’t get that calcium build up and have to mess around with vinegar cleanings. My wife WFH part of the time too, so we go through tons of coffee.

I’ve been messing with making the hard water at my place better (only been here 3.5 years), and I think I’ve found a system that works and doesn’t require one of those multiple-thousands-of-dollars home filtration systems.
There’s a simple filter on the main (downstream from the hose spigot breakoff) that I change every couple of months. There’s another filter under the kitchen sink (change every six months) for drinking/cooking/coffee/etc. And I got a new programable softener that cycles 3 times a week. Lastly, I turned down the pressure in the well pump just a bit so the kids go through less water during their showers.
So far, so good.
No, city water but it all goes through a treatment plant here. Never had issues with it.

Our city water is crap. Creates this white calcite buildup on everything. Our humidifier filter gets NASTY and I change it annually.

We also have a Keurig, but go through the pods like nobody’s business. Prefer the full pots.
We have a Keurig but just use the resuable pod. I very rarely drink coffee at home but my wife has a couple cups a day and when my parents visit they drink coffee every morning. The reusable thing works well and is way cheaper than the pods.
My daughters both drink coffee/ice coffee, so that Keurig gets used throughout the day.
Try the reusable deal. They can still get different kinds of coffee, plus, having to take an extra 20 seconds to fill the pod with coffee might make them think twice and drink less coffee.
We have one, a little too messy, but I only buy the giant cheap Folgers can at Sam’s. For “good” coffee, we just buy the pods.

If you need arch support, Kayano is your best bet. If you’re a neutral runner, then there are tons of options, but the Kinsei is their top of the line.
They are mainly just for walking. Weather permitting I only run the one day week. Walk the rest. I’ve had to fix some things on my treadmill of late and it is now over 10 years old, so I don’t think it could take the beating of me running on it anymore (which is fine cuz treadmill running is a death march).
I don’t remember which ones I got, nothing special. They were like $75, but I got them for $41. My old shoes bottoms were way wore down, which is why I think I got the plantar.
The other problem I had mentioned during the summer was actually a cyst on my big toe (not a blister like I thought) that I had to have removed.

It’s tough to get across to people who haven’t looked into it just how important they were/are to every facet of the music industry. From the lowest lowly garage band to the biggest band in the world.
It’s easy to discredit them as some teeny pop band but until you’ve picked up and learned an instrument, tried composing your own music as well as covering Beatles songs you don’t really have a grasp for just how game changing they were in every aspect of the game. From song writing, to how they played their individual instruments, to tone of guitars and drums, to many pioneering engineering techniques.
There are a handful of bands I gained a healthy respect for because I’ve played their songs on bass and/or guitar.
“Dream On” by Aerosmith is very impressively written, for example.
Did you ever hear the story when Steven Tyler hear an older Aerosmith song on the radio in the 80s when he was all kinds of fucked up on drugs and told Joe Perry something to the tune of, “Hey we should cover this song.” Joe told him “It’s us fuckhead.” Haha

I think that we’ll keep our current home & rent it out when I finally find some land to build on. We get lots of doctors in our neighborhood who rent instead of buy. The doc who delivered our son lives down the street, but they don’t rent, they have a NICE place.
